@Akmc be sure to get syringes with a purple plunger rather than white as I’m told that the purple ones are safe for food products whereas the white ones are not.
It’s fantastic that you’ve been able to express some colostrum. 🙌🏼 I’ve been trying for a few days now and have had no luck.

@Akmc i have just the 1ml syringes. I fill one per session but took a while to build up to that! Probably best trying those ones for now and seeing how you get on! Good luck!

@Peonies94 great, thanks for the info, yes I’m definitely thinking that this is very early days here, I’m talking droplets so 1ml syringes sound more attainable than some of the alternatives I’d first seen!

@Akmc yes droplets is all i was producing too! Don’t panic! My first attempt was only 0.1 ml, so I’ve done 4 syringes now but built up to a full syringe so trying to collect each day! How many weeks are you?

induction booked for 10th February (39weeks) 😁😁 i need to start harvesting colostrum been advised to do it at 38 weeks? Well done for you both for getting something ive heard its not easy x

@blibbyblobb so exciting having a date booked in, it’s so weird just waiting not sure when they’ll come! I’m due in 11 days and o started harvesting from 36 weeks, but took a while to start producing anything! Don’t worry too much, I’ve been able to get more the last few days so I’m doing a syringe every other day now, in hope to have about 10ml if I go at my due date! Good luck!

@Peonies94 hello! So the well has dried up but I’m not too worried, I’ll continue to try. Very clearly beginners’ luck or delusion the other day, when I try now I get the faintest moisture! I’m 38w 1d, and since both previous were +10 days and induced, I’ve got plenty of time! 🤣🤣 @blibbyblobb good luck on all fronts - boobs, induction, the whole shebang!

@Akmc ahh still early days yet, plenty of time!! I’m expecting this one to be very late too!

@Akmc 😂😂 thank you! Im hoping i somehow go natural before then... And yes don't give up.. Ive read lots of women are able to harvest more straight after birth

@Peonies94 we can see who wins the slow race, ha! The (current) youngest is currently poorly with rash, swollen face, temperature - all the good stuff - so I’m telling the one ‘in progress’ to hang on in there as it’s not a good time to be out and about! 🤞

@Akmc aw no! Hope they’re better soon! 39 weeks now, and I’m ready! Currently Trying everything that isn’t going to make any difference, because she’s doing to come when she’s ready!

@Peonies94 39w on Thursday! Haven’t managed to try again as have current littlest at home ‘poorly’ (which means marauding and trashing the house, just with an intermittent temperature) 😂 so trying to keep up! Will
try again tonight and keep you updated. 🏁

@Akmc aww no! I haven’t managed to get much these last few days after managing before that to get 1ml a day! I’m having a little break now, as I have enough for first feed if I’m poorly! I really found from 39 weeks so miserable! I am ready to have the baby now!!

My parents have arrived and c section is Thursday so I feel a bit safer to try collecting. Think I’ll have a shower and then try this evening! I remember I got a bit last time but don’t remember if it was before or after her birth.

Thank you! Our gorgeous little boy decided to arrive early at 38 weeks and 5 days. I have him in my arms at home and couldn’t be happier. 🥰 I’m still trying to take it all in. Emotions and hormones are all over the place but I’m loving every precious moment. 💖

I am :) due on Saturday but baby feels very comfy at the moment so won't be surprised if I go over!

It's my due date today, but my little girl was born Monday morning! My waters broke on Saturday but contractions didn't start, unfortunately due to group B strep I had to be induced. I waited as long as I could hoping things would start naturally but was also hooked up to monitoring and then the drip. I struggled with it but recovery is going smoothly, we were discharged yesterday

@Bunny2006 congratulations! Where did you buy a strep B test? I haven't got round to it yet but it was recommended in my bump class. Thanks!
