Has anyone thought about doing a social media pregnancy "announcement" photo? If so - what?

No, I'm not putting it on social media (outside of hidden baby group). For me it's personal and the people I care about I'll tell. I also can't risk someone from work seeing before I tell them.

Hi everyone. What a rollercoaster. I had a scan on Thursday, measured 8w and saw a heartbeat. Then started what I can only describe as a period yesterday - day after scan! Really stressful. Think I just have to wait it out and see 😬

@roarfeckingroarr when are you planning to tell work?
@YoureAMeanOneMrGrinch im not really a huge Sofia media person but DH wants to, so yes we’ll be announcing on socials! Only once we’ve told all our nearest people and that way we can tell others less close, just so we don’t keep getting asked and stuff! Will probably do it around 13 weeks! Maybe a little sooner!

@WonderWoop im so sorry, missed this message! Ahh how scary! I hope everything is okay! Sending love! Have you spoken to someone, are you able to get another scan? How many weeks are you? Maybe contact your midwife!

@roarfeckingroarr @Peonies94 I'm not rushing to do an announcement with it being my second, I'll tell my friends and family in person, and will eventually post something online, but my sister is due in the next couple of weeks and I don't want to look like I'm taking any of her limelight

We're waiting until the 12 week scan and getting DD1 to announce it hahaha. She's only 2

Thanks @YoureAMeanOneMrGrinch and @Peonies94 - bleeding only lasted one day so given that I am going to hold my nerve if I can, I have a scan booked (NIPT) in 10 days time. I had bleeding in my last (successful) pregnancy and all was okay so just got to hold my breath I think.

@Peonies94 haha I know what you mean, not long to go now! I’ve got quite a busy week in work so hoping it will go quick ☺️
Nausea keeps creeping in and out and I keep getting an awful taste in my mouth but I just keep reminding myself that these are all signs so hopefully all good 🤞🏻

Marking my place too! Need to get better at following and posting 😬 I’m 12 weeks today but baby is measuring ahead so end of Jan more likely. We’ve had two private scans- one at 7 then at 10 weeks. 10 week scan showed two sacs so they think it started as a twin pregnancy. Showing already (but is my 4th) and still feeling odd- lots of food aversions-no interest in any food but starving at the same time. NHS scan on Friday then we’ll let people know but no social media/grand events here. Even if it was my first- just not my thing.

Does anyone have any tips to help with constipation? I look 4 months pregnant but it's purely from not being able to go to the toilet 😭

Same boat here! The prenatals are not helping either - my body does not like iron supplements!
I've found staying incredibly hydrated helps - I manage once a day, though only a little (TMI!) now! Always a good tip in this weather anyway!

Otherwise, please share any tips you get!

Hey, I probably won't post anything on social media until after 20 weeks, was the same with my DD. I'm 9 weeks today and so nauseous in the morning and exhausted.

@BritInNZ I've started pregnancy probiotics which I think are helping, well I suffered really badly with constipation with my DD and first sign of it this time started the probiotics and its helped. Lots of water as someone else suggested, also kiwi is amazing when my DD gets constipated so ill definitely be trying that this time if I struggle.

I just spoke with my midwife and she said natural options are kiwi juice, kiwis and prunes. Otherwise she can prescribe a laxative but I'll try the natural option first 😊

@WonderWoop I had bleeding from 7 weeks, had a early scan. Everything was ok.
still bleeding slightly now but they reassured me due to my ‘different’ shaped womb the baby should be fine.
Its not heavy it’s just an annoyance!
9w + 2 now, next scan not until August.

I recall three bleeds in the first trimester of my last pregnancy but I wish I'd written the details down!! I remember one being really heavy though as I was sure I was miscarrying then, but didn't thank god.

I had a scan last week at 7w6d (with heartbeat) then a heavy red bleed the next day (no clots however) and spotting for about 3 days. Now stopped. I have a scan again at 10w1d (harmony test) so not too long to wait (just over a week) but it does make you anxious doesn't it.
If I get through that one okay any further bleeding will probably spook me less. Pregnancy is a whirlwind of emotions!

I had a bit of a bleed at 6+6 so had to go for a scan at EPU. They said baby is measuring small (6+3 - don't see how 3 days is a big difference) and baby's heartbeat was slow which isn't normally a good sign and normally results in a miscarriage. I've had nothing since and no pain 🤞🏼 still got symptoms, so hoping we have a little fighter on our hands 🥹

I've been lurking for a while but feel im ready to mingle. I am 11w 4d, confirmed by a scan last week. I have my 'official' 12 week scan next Thursday. My due date is February 5th.

This is my third pregnancy. I have a 9 year old girl and had a suspected ectopic last summer.

I'm incredibly excited but also very nervous after my MC and because it's been ten years since I've done this (and my God, it's so much harder at 38 than it was at at 27).

Because I had a traumatic birth with my daughter which resulted in an EMCS I have been offered an ELCS if I want one. I'm changing my mind every single day trying to weigh it up.

Desperate to know what we're having as we're already buying lots of clothes in the Next sale and so far it's all neutral.

Hope you're all doing well and enjoying your pregnancies as much as you can.

Youre in a similar boat to me (although I haven’t had any scans yet so hoping that everything is ok…) I also had my first when I was 27 and am now 38! And I had a MMC last year so a bit nervous! How are you finding it all?!

Ahh a pregnancy twin! I still haven't convinced myself it's happening, despite having had two scans already and a bunch of classic symptoms. I'm mostly exhausted allllllll the time. Thankfully off work for the summer now so hoping the second trimester will bring me some energy to return to work with 🤞

I naively didn't expect it to be this hard going at nearly 40. God knows how I'm going to cope with a baby 😵‍💫🤪

Congratulations on your pregnancy! How far along are you? Do you have a EDD? Does your older child know? I'm telling mine this evening. She's already told me several times that she doesn't want me to have a baby 🤦‍♀️ wish me luck...
