Hi all, looks like we'll be filling up today or tomorrow. I wanted to create the thread early so we can have a link to the new one. Have a nice weekend!

@jaaxe I second that it's good that they are aware of it and keep an eye on you and your baby.
I've had one too because my first child was quite big despite being early. The current one is estimated 2.3kg at 31 weeks. All I can think now is how the hell im going to push that one out 😅

Jaaxe · 26/10/2022 20:35

Thanks all, really appreciate all these comments. She did say there was a margin of error of like 10-20% and that waters and placenta and blood flow all looked fine so hoping next scan will show some improvement. Also said the growth charts are specific to each woman based on BMI/ethnicity/previous babies. It’s measuring just over 3 pounds amd I guess still has a good few weeks to go xx

MissC07 · 26/10/2022 20:43

@Jaaxe sending you positive thoughts, it's good they are keeping an eye on things but I completely get the worry. I had my 32 week scan last week and he's weighing 4lb 7 (2kgs) with a 93rd percentile head 🙈 Absolutely petrified of how on earth I'm going to get that out come full term, I'm starting to worry about labour more & more now and wondering whether I should ask for an ELCS.

Chanel05 · 27/10/2022 15:54

@Jaaxe I'm just on the way back from my 32 week growth scan and baby is 3lb 15oz which I think is quite small.

HayleyBean · 27/10/2022 20:12

@lifechanginglemoncake - how did your scan go?

@Chanel05 - I was 33 weeks on Tuesday

@Orcarain - bloody hell moving house!! Bet that's been stressful to organise and manage whilst pregnant! Good luck for tomorrow!

@Jaaxe - I had to have a growth scan after my 28 week appointment as baby was on about the 5th percentile. Had a growth scan a few days later and baby was slap bang in-between the 10th and 50th so everything was all ok and just under 3lbs

lifechanginglemoncake · 27/10/2022 20:14

Hi @HayleyBean - best news we could have hoped for really. Placenta is out of the way fully so no concerns and growth and fluid and blood flow all look great. Baby tracking 25th centile so not worried about a big baby at this stage (always a concern with GD). See what it looks like in two weeks when I have another scan and the birth plan discussion with the consultant.

Bluebonnet3 · 28/10/2022 07:34

@Jaaxe I'm in the same boat. Last week at my 31 week growth scan baby measured small, less than 5th centile, so they sent me to triage and put me on a baby heart rate monitor and checked blood flow to placenta with Doppler. Everything seemed fine, and I still feel regular baby movements, so they have arranged growth scans every two weeks with consultant reviews. My next one is next week on Wed which will be 33w.

My midwife said as long as the rate of growth follows the same path as the expected growth, I can deliver later (they already advised 39w induction because of age/ivf), but if the growth rate slows I'll be induced or sent for c-section early. Baby can still be fine, just small. Although it's worrying, they are doing the best care with extra monitoring. I've got my hospital bag and car seat ready, so if he does come early (such as after 35 or 37w extra growth scan) I'll at least have that stuff organised. Fingers crossed for us both!

Jaaxe · 28/10/2022 08:50

Thanks for everyone’s messages, it doesn’t sound like mine is mega small compared to others but I think just because it didn’t seem to have gained so much between the 2 scans but I know the scans aren’t always accurate.

@Bluebonnet3 thanks for this! sounds like we’re having the exact same monitoring, only your a week ahead of me, my next scan will be the Wednesday after yours 😊 keep me updated how it all goes for you! I feel regular movements too and they don’t seem particularly weak or small, in fact the baby seems pretty sizeable to me moving about! They’re doing a csection at 37 weeks for me but that was the plan all along whether big or small baby because of my previous history so my consultant just said we will stick to that plan and so long as baby isn’t dropping off the chart then she’s happy to continue the monitoring and stick to 37weeks. What did yours weigh at 31weeks? X

Chanel05 · 28/10/2022 09:43

@Jaaxe baby is 26th centile and his legs are 5th centile. I did have a cry and panic in the scan room but the midwife said that since he's following his curve then this is normal.

Midwife did then however go off on one that if I go into labour and baby is head down/ I'm progressing quickly, I can forget about them taking me in for a section as I won't be prioritised since I got to 10cm last time. Finally got my head around a section and then hear this!

Mommabear20 · 28/10/2022 15:17

How's everyone feeling today? I'm having a rather nauseous day today and extremely tired 😴
Is anyone else feeling like they're right back in the first trimester?? 🤦‍♀️

TheOnlyException1 · 28/10/2022 22:09

@Mommabear20 Completely! I had horrible nausea in first trimester which completely cleared up in second trimester, and then out of the blue this week the acid reflux has appeared with a vengeance 😅 so yeah feeling pretty nauseous and tired too.. I'm nearly 35 weeks now, are you roughly the same?

Mommabear20 · 29/10/2022 07:40

@TheOnlyException1 I'm 34+3! I had acid reflux with my last baby too, but with this one, I can't even take indigestion tablets as I'm on iron tablets and you can't take them together 😭😭 the things we endure for our kids! 😂

TheOnlyException1 · 29/10/2022 08:14

@Mommabear20 Oof, that's pretty rough, I did read that the anti acids can stop iron from getting absorbed as well - I am taking a pregnancy multivitamin that has iron in it, so trying to avoid taking antacids within a few hours of taking that, not sure if that avoids the issue or not though! The acid reflux issue seems to mostly flare up when I'm trying to go to bed though 😅 I guess little one really is running out of space in there!

Mommabear20 · 29/10/2022 12:53

@TheOnlyException1 I find that too! My midwife recommended trying to sleep slightly propped up and on my left side, your stomach is on the left side of your abdomen so sleeping on your left means that it's lower than your throat and mouth, and if you're slightly propped up too, it makes it harder for the acid to get up your throat and should help ease symptoms.

Tofu35 · 29/10/2022 16:47

@Mommabear20 yesterday I was retching after breakfast- haven't had that since wk20. I was horrified that it was coming back, but fingers crossed it's not happened again.

Hugs to all the nighttime acid reflux gang, it's rubbish! Starting to learn what my trigger foods are, but tonight I'm going to throw caution to the wind because I'm meeting up with friends so I'll be crunching gaviscons tonight 😅

Mommabear20 · 30/10/2022 14:10

@Tofu35 oh no! That's not good!

I ended up in triage yesterday for monitoring as little miss had decided to take a long winters nap and hadn't moved all morning, everything seemed fine on the trace but I have to go back for a growth scan as it was my second episode of reduced movements this pregnancy, not complaining as I get to see her again 😆
