Hi all, looks like we'll be filling up today or tomorrow. I wanted to create the thread early so we can have a link to the new one. Have a nice weekend!

Hi Everyone, hope you don’t mind me joining, I’m due another bean on Christmas Day 22’

the back pain is reeeeal, anyone else?

KittyKat1989 · 03/07/2022 14:00

@AG96 I’m 18+1 and have had terrible cramping for the last few days. It’s not too painful, but definitely there. I’m just resting and hoping it passes soon.

@Pinkfig It’s so annoying that you didn’t get to hear the heartbeat. It’s not like it takes long to do! Did you ask? Thanks for the reminder to book the whooping cough vaccine. Have a great holiday.

Pinkfig · 03/07/2022 14:56

@KittyKat1989 i did, she said not till 22 weeks 😔. I can't wait to feel the baby moving about, will make me feel so much better.

4 weeks in Spain will hopefully relax me.

DogsAndGin · 03/07/2022 15:13

@Bluebonnet3 yes I am finding everything is huge too! I ordered my normal size but in maternity of a dress on ASOS, and it is honestly massive - I could fit two of me in there!

@AG96 hope you’re feeling better soon x

AG96 · 03/07/2022 15:29

@KittyKat1989 Glad it's not just me, thank you for replying. It seems to have eased now. Midwife advised I call the women's health unit at the hospital and they said it sounded normal but if I started bleeding or it got worse then to call back. Thankfully must just be stretching/growing cramps 😊

@DogsAndGin thank you 😊 I'm feeling better. Sometimes just being told by the midwife or medical professional that it's normal makes me feel loads less anxious about anything I'm feeling lol

HayleyBean · 03/07/2022 15:59

Hey everyone! Has anyone been suffering with migraines? I used to get one a month if that before pregnancy, I've now had one every week for the last 3 weeks and I can feel another one brewing. Honestly they suck so much!

JC84 · 03/07/2022 16:02

Went for a private scan today at - we're having another boy and all looks good 🙃 I was hoping a girl with being such a different pregnancy this time but I guess I'll remain outnumbered by boys and male animals 🤣
Sick of feeling nauseous and tired now tho!
Hoping I get to hear heartbeat at midwife tomorrow 🤞🏻
Those struggling with maternity clothes I ordered some stuff from shein and the long dress came last week and fits beautifully, I was a 10 and ordered medium which they say is a 10. The rest of my order is due this week so will update when it arrives

JC84 · 03/07/2022 16:04

@HayleyBean I'm a mega migraine sufferer and have been really lucky and only had 3 headaches in the last 16 weeks and they were bad enough so I really feel for you! I did spend the first 8 weeks being incredibly dizzy tho so I'll be made up if the migraines stay away 🤞🏻

hopefulsunshine11 · 03/07/2022 16:59

Hey this is a bit of a random one. I was out for dinner and half way through eating I found a plastic film like off a lid or something at the bottom of my food. Not sure what it's off of and the restaurant doesn't know either. It wasn't hard plastic. Should I be concerned as I know that plastic and release harmful toxins. As I had ate half there was no much I could do. They apologised and reduced the bill but I'm paranoid now 😣😣. Why do these things always happen to an anxiety ridden person!!

ShellyC1984 · 03/07/2022 18:51

Thought I’d login and say Hi, due the 28th with baby #5, however I make them big and had shoulder Dystocia with my 1st so I’ll more than likely be induced 2wks early :) Having absolutely no pregnancy symptoms so gotta be a boy #3 as with girls I’m soooo poorly. Hope everyone is moving smoothly into 2nd trimester, we’re a third of the way there already x

tasha4eva10 · 03/07/2022 19:20

Can anyone else actually believe how fast it's going? I found out between 2-3 weeks so the first few weeks absolutely dragged up until around 9 weeks when I started showing and having scans now it feels like it's flying by!

ElephantGrey101 · 03/07/2022 19:38

@Appleplumcrumble we have the same due date!

Has anyone bought a good pregnancy pillow? I have got pelvic girdle pain already so I really need a decent one. My sister paid over £100 for hers which I think is too much.

SweetMelody19 · 03/07/2022 19:45

Hi has anyone heard of or got low PAPP-A ? Just recently found out after having the extra screening done and just a bit worried. I've been referred to the FMU foetal medical unit and will be monitored with growth scans and have to take aspirin daily Just wondered if anyone else is going through the same? X

baby2in2022 · 03/07/2022 20:44

Just place marking.

AG96 · 03/07/2022 21:22

@hopefulsunshine11 I understand your anxiety but I think you will be okay. Can always ask GP or midwife but try not to worry about it too much xx

@tasha4eva10 I feel like it's dragging a bit for me 😩 hopefully once I get half way through it will speed up lol

Sdoubleyou · 03/07/2022 23:22

@HayleyBean, I've been getting bad headaches since 11 weeks (I'm 16+5) and they've been almost constant this week. Not full-blown migraines, but headaches behind an eye. I'm chugging crazy amounts of water and it seems to keep them relatively in check, but I'm looking forward to this symptom going away. Tylenol (paracetamol) isn't doing much.

Hey everyone, 18+1 here.
I too am experiencing cramping in my stomach- keep thinking it may be stretching but it’s causing all outfits to look rather tight !
Have people started to receive their 20 week scan letters? I haven’t yet so think I may call after today.

Mommabear20 · 04/07/2022 06:21

@tasha4eva10 I feel like the pregnancy is going by super quick, but the actual weeks/months aren't going anywhere 😂 like I can't believe I'm 17 weeks already, but then I'm like how is it only the beginning of July? 😂

My friend had this. It indicates there is a risk of growth restriction for the baby and the mum is more likely to have pre eclampsia ( but you are both more likely not to have any of those things). Her little girl was born a week earlier than planned because they were monitoring her growth but she was still fine and full term. It must be worrying for you but good to get extra scans as they can prevent problems.

stuntbubbles · 04/07/2022 07:52

@HayleyBean I feel like I’ve spent more time with a migraine than without one this pregnancy. So exhausting and debilitating 😭

@MrsN3 My 20-week scan was booked at my 12-week scan. It’s unfortunately on our ideal moving date, though it remains to be seen whether we’ll exchange and complete to schedule, so still no clue whether I’ll be scanned in this trust, in the next one, or lost in the system 😬

Anyone else with awful insomnia? I’m up from 2/3am each day and it is seriously taking its toll, not least on mental health.

tasha4eva10 · 04/07/2022 08:01

@SweetMelody19 I haven't had tests like you that showed a risk but I'm already high risk from other factors so I'm on 2 aspirin a day to help grow the placenta, I'm under the pre term clinic as at risk of having the baby early and on blood thinner injections daily until after the baby is born.

Just try rethink things as a higher risk than a "normal" pregnancy but not set in stone anything bad will happen x

SweetMelody19 · 04/07/2022 08:11

Thank you @tasha4eva10 and @ElephantGrey101 you have both reassured me a little more. I have an appointment with my midwife on Friday so I'm sure I can talk to her about it then too ♥️ x

Tofu35 · 04/07/2022 08:46

@stuntbubbles I have it some days. I'll wake up for my 3am pee and then be awake until 6 when I am exhausted, so get an hour's sleep before my alarm goes off for work. Other days my body treats me to a 3am pee but I can sleep again easily. No rhyme or reason to why/when that happens though!

Amphibian94 · 04/07/2022 08:58

New thread already! Wonder how many we will get through!

Anyone know if there is a "best" time for whooping cough vaccine? My hospital has a walk in clinic so I'm just going to go after one of my appointments.. not sure if I should wait a bit longer?

JC84 · 04/07/2022 09:14

@Amphibian94 nhs website says:
Pregnant women can help protect their babies by getting vaccinated – ideally from 16 weeks up to 32 weeks pregnant. If for any reason you miss having the vaccine, you can still have it up until you go into labour
I assume our midwifes would tell us when best and I'm sure I read an earlier post saying someone had had at their 16w appointment.
