@TFMinx I know this might not be much help to
you but I know exactly how you feel, I am 20+3
and still haven't felt movement yet. (I thought i
might off about two weeks ago but not actually
sure if it was since nothing since that). My scan
isn't until Wednesday week when I will be 21 +6
and it feels like a life time waiting and worrying
everything is going to be ok. I have tried all
types of suggestions jumping, music, fizzy
drinks. The midwife has told me that some
people don't feel anything up until 24 weeks but
that doesn't make the worrying any easier. I
really hope you are doing ok and I am wishing
you all the best for Tuesday and that you feel
your little one very soon X

Thank you very much @Feb85, your comment means a lot and it's reassuring to know I'm not alone. Good luck to you also

I think thats the latest update? Sorry i havent done it sooner had a rough couple of days!

@ChasingRainbows22 my little boy is so affectionate gives lots of cuddles. A few people i know who have one of each have said that the boys are more affectionate than the girls. Hes a bundle of energy and i cant keep up with him but i love it. Even though i was hoping for a girl
i love the fact i will have two little boys

@TFMinx i had the same feeling with my 12 week scan that was something was wrong and thats why i paid for a private one at 16 weeks because i couldnt shake the thought something was wrong. Its hard not knowing whats going on in there. Im struggling alot more in this pregnancy with what if and somethings wrong thoughts.

I had an anterior placenta with my son and definitely didnt feel anything till after the 21/22 week mark (we got married when i was 20 weeks and i know i hadnt felt anything then or on honeymoon)

This time around i dont have an anterior placenta and i havent felt movements yet. Jusr heavy if he changes position like if he moves from one side to the other or upside down!

I am plus size and have always carried lots of weight on my tummy so i wonder if that will play a part

I feel as though the cold drink is something to do if you have been feeling regular movements then they stop. Because before you feel movements the baby is moving, just your biology is not allowing you to feel it. It's just a waiting game. I have been feeling them daily for a couple of weeks, mostly in the early evening. But as I'd not felt them yet today I had a fizzy drink and a lay down after lunch and I felt them.

TFMinx · 19/06/2022 21:08

Thanks @NotAdultingToday I wonder if I have an anterior placenta. I'm a slim size 8 (when not pregnant) so it's not that.
Hopefully I've just forgotten how late it was with my son and actually there's nothing wrong at all. Here's hoping anyway.

Hello, just rejoining on, I'm 17+6 today due date 22nd although I'll be having a section so probably be a bit before that and I'm having a boy 💙 I've been feeling lots of movements in the past week flutters, rolls and kicks but he gets shy when DP puts his hand on my stomach 😂

Grgs · 20/06/2022 14:29

Hi all,

I am due November 14th so 19 weeks today😊. I just thought I'd pop on and ask a question...

I had a little bit of blood when I wiped yesterday evening - it was pinky/red and has panicked me as I've not had any bleeding at all since I've been pregnant. I had no pain with it and it hasn't happened since. I haven't had sex or anything that could irritate me to make me bleed that way.

I have spoken to two midwifes now who have advised that they will see me and check me over only if it happens again or I get some pain.

Was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if it's normal? I've heard of bleeding/spotting in first trimester but not this late so just a bit worried.

Thanks so much x

NotAdultingToday · 20/06/2022 14:31

@TFMinx they should tell you at your 12 week scan but im sure they didnt tell me at mine with ds, i dont think i found out until my 20 week scan in the end.
Hopefully tomorrow will put your mind at rest 😊

Funny story im waiting for my 16 week appointment and had to do a urine sample but the didnt have the cardboard things you normally use so i tried to do it a cup dropped that down the toilet then i tried to do it in the sample pot while i had wee left and dropped that in the toilet 🤦🏼‍♀️ so im drinking lots of water hoping i will need a wee before im seen/end of my appointment. Such a tit 😂

@Bramblecrumble21 has it grown quickly too? My hair and nails are in great condition at the moment

@arianasky hi 👋🏻

@Grgs i had this in the first trimester but has gone away now, though they didnt know what caused it and said sometimes theres just no reason for it. Hopefully someone else will be along with your experience to help

Bramblecrumble21 · 20/06/2022 15:33

@NotAdultingToday I'm not sure, I've not paid attention to its length since I grew out my fringe, but probably.

Haha, that's something I do. Only time I've had a cardboard bowl was for the wee sample giving birth. I always get given a small pot, which I wee in and around, so have to wash it after the lid is on. I normally need to go at least twice during appointment.

NotAdultingToday · 20/06/2022 16:00

They should make the pots bigger its impossible! Im glad im not the only one though!

OP posts:
roobearbaby · 20/06/2022 17:42

Last wee sample I had to give I was absolutely covered in it! The midwife actually knocked on the door to check I was ok 😂

sarahj878 · 20/06/2022 19:12

@Grgs try not to worry because if midwife was worried they would definitely have you in. But if you are worried definitely ask them to see you to put your mind at rest. I’ve had lots of bleeds in this and my previous pregnancy. In my previous pregnancy some were quite late on (I think third trimester). Some were put down to a SCH, some the cause not found and others down to my placenta being close to my cervix. Also its not happened to me but I’ve also heard you can bleed if you have a cervical ectropion. Hope you’re ok now x

sarahj878 · 20/06/2022 19:13

@Bramblecrumble21 haha I always end up peeing on the pot outside too and having to wash it and then I’m always paranoid the midwife is going to think the wet label is pee and not water from me washing it!

sarahj878 · 20/06/2022 19:14

@NotAdultingToday my nails and hair are growing quickly too. I have to get my roots done every 4 weeks as it is lol

NotAdultingToday · 20/06/2022 19:37

@roobearbaby this made me laugh, i did make a rather big mess! 😂 i had the midwifes laughing to when i told them about it. They must see it so much

@sarahj878 its nuts! But a nice one, especially as im a nail biter 😂

OP posts:
ChasingRainbows22 · 20/06/2022 23:29

Thanks so much @NotAdultingToday and @Otterses, that's great advice, I've been feeling so guilty but if I let myself feel it I'll get over it.

Def been there with the wee pots. WHY are they so narrow?!

@Grgs so sorry you're having a scary experience, if they really won't see you could you tell them it's happened again to get some reassurance?

FishyBaby · 21/06/2022 08:25

Wow - looks like the 18th is filling up - so many due date twins now!

Agh the wee pots - I thought maybe it was just me that struggled with that!

Over the last week or so I suddenly seem to have ballooned (I'm 18+5 so pretty sure some of it is still flab rather than bump) and in this nice lovely hot weather it's great fun to realise onne of your summer clothes fit. I've had some success with a bundle on FB marketplace so now have some summer clothes, but my next challenge is something for a wedding at the weekend. I have 4 dresses that are elasticated/still fit but none are exactly what I'd consider formal enough for a wedding. Will have to see at the weekend.

In other news on the ballooning front, I also seem to be getting some flutters/bubbles/nudges, either that or some poor digestion!

Bramblecrumble21 · 21/06/2022 09:35

Exciting times fishbaby. I have my 20 week scan today. Surprisingly not to nervous. It may be because my child has just had her 4th birthday and she's due a school visit soon so that's taking up a lot of headspace. I was 20 weeks on Sunday and since Friday I've had movements that I notice when I'm busy. Sunday baby was more chill (but cold drink and a lay down woke him up). Yesterday baby was really active. The other morning I even had a bump above my belly button. I thought it was bloat at first but when I put my hand on it baby dived down low. She's a sneaky baby, as dispite movements getting stronger I've not felt anything on the outside keeps wriggling away from hands The us might be fun....

Grgs · 21/06/2022 10:53

@sarahj878 thanks so much for this! How naive of me to think the worrying stopped after 12 weeks 🙈 I have my next scan in a couple of weeks so if all is okay until then I will sit it out. If I get anything else strange before then I will definitely ask to be seen x

sarahj878 · 21/06/2022 12:40

@Grgs no problem, hope you don’t get any more bleeding and the next couple of weeks fly by for you

sarahj878 · 21/06/2022 12:43

@Bramblecrumble21 aw that’s lovely you’ve felt lots of movement how exciting! I’m getting little flutters and movements which I’m noticing more and more. Hope your scan goes well today. Will you be finding out gender?

I’ve started planning the nursery today and throwing myself into that will be a good distraction while waiting for my next scan. Anyone else started planning theirs?

@FishyBaby I’m due 25th but having c section so will probably be on 18th too! Busy day for babies! I’ve had some joy with summer dresses from the supermarket so far but have a wedding coming up too so will have same challenge on my hands soon! Good luck finding one.

SareBear87 · 21/06/2022 13:26

Do you lovelies mind if I join?

I'm due 3rd November (after too many mcs!) so waited until we had our 20 week scan to openly talk about it - this is our first ☺️

To add to the anxiety I have an anterior placenta so I only feel kicks if I really concentrate whilst lying down 😅

Bramblecrumble21 · 21/06/2022 14:07

Had my scan, everything was fine and I didn't find out the gender. I do need an extra scan at 28 weeks but the somographer explained it was due to a new measurement they are trialing of the uterine arterys. So a way to select patients for an extra growth scan, but as it's new they don't know yet how good the system is at selecting babies that need extra scans. She said they other measuments don't give any indication for later size really. As my first was on the bigger side, she said this one will probably grow fine too. So we are taking it as an extra opportunity to see our baby for free before it's born.

Welcome sarebear87, mine was low anterior first time. This time it's high posterior. The kicks will only get stronger.

TFMinx · 21/06/2022 16:59

Well I had my scan and all is well, thank goodness! Turns out we're having a girl! I've been in a state of shock all day as I was convinced it was another boy. Just got to tell our DS now that he's not getting a brother or a dinosaur Grin
