Hi @MooBugz my cycle buddy, I'll join you :)

I'm 11dpo and had a solid line on a FRER today, after a faint line at 9dpo two days ago. Period would have been due Monday so planning to test again on Sunday then probably a couple times next week just to reassure myself the line is progressing.

Tentatively hopeful, feeling much more positive about this one than I did the last time I was pregnant but still a bit nervous. Have had 2 early losses this year since beginning to TTC for no.2 about 6 months ago. Both occured before 5 weeks so I think once I get to about 5/6 weeks this time (hopefully!) I'll feel more relaxed. I have one DD already, she is 21 months :)

Fingers crossed everything progresses well for us! <3

Skylark1990 · 10/06/2022 15:45

Symptoms wise... I have sore boobs/nipples (esp when breastfeeding DD which I'm still doing for now), I've had light cramping now and then since 6dpo and have had a bit of nausea at times too for the last couple of days - particularly when I'm getting hungry. Also just exhausted today as I keep waking up super early like around 5 and not being able to get back to sleep (today this was because of DD but yesterday was very random as she slept in till 6:30!).

MooBugz · 10/06/2022 16:06

I had a faint line on Monday and a very bright pink one today, i posted a pic on the other group but lol that was straight away not even the full time window of the test so seeing it after it's even brighter!

I've not really had any symptoms yet except from fatigue but I am now worried about catching covid again which usually I'm ok with but given I had covid just before the mc I'm so wary.

I also go on holiday next month for a week so hopefully that'll keep my mind occupied!

I have my first scan on 03/08 but debating whether to go private for an earlier reassurance scan but then don't want to tempt fate either.

It's going to be a nervous 9 months isn't it 🙈 but feeling very blessed and grateful to my body !

Hey! Got my BFP this morning, faint on a FRER at 12dpo so was feeling quite anxious, but did a cheapie tonight which is less sensitive and got a faint line. Feeling more reassured as I couldn't quite believe this morning as was about to throw it in the bin!
This is my second, DD is nearly 2. I had a MC prior to her so found that pregnancy very stressful and I'm quite an anxious person!
EDD about 22 Feb 🤞
Hope you don't mind me joining.

MooBugz · 10/06/2022 21:45

Hi @Bella9992 congrats on your bfp 🥳 nice to meet you!

Did the anxiety ever go away? How far gone were you when you mc? I was going to book an early scan but saw they are mostly done via an internal and the thought of it just brought back unwanted memories of the internals I had during mc so that's a no from me I'll just wait it out

Bella9992 · 10/06/2022 21:54

@MooBugz thanks, congratulations to you too.

I was 6 weeks. I felt better after 12 weeks, I was still a little anxious but I don't think it helped that I spent a lot of my pregnancy in lockdown! Hope you manage OK.
I had an early scan at 9 weeks and they didn't need to do it internally, they tried externally first and realised they could see well enough. I think I'll probably go for one similar time, if I make it that far 🤞.

MooBugz · 11/06/2022 10:46

That's good to know then I might phone the place and check how they would do it if I went for an early scan.

I've been havin cramping today which I know is totally normal and expected at this early stage but my god I am questioning every symptom already. Trying to keep myself in a healthy way and even started on the folic acid early which I've skipped in previous pregnancies

Hi Everyone,

I got my BFP this evening at 9DPO. I know it is super early but trying to be positive and believe that this pregnancy is the one.

We experienced an MMC at 10 weeks back in March - baby slipped away just after 8 weeks. This was our first so I am really apprehensive and scared it will happen all over again. However, I am hoping I can overcome the fear and have a positive pregnancy.

MooBugz · 11/06/2022 21:25

Hi @RedElleJ sorry to hear about your mc it's a horrible experience but hope this time is different. This is not my first baby but we have similar timeline with my MC in March too at 11weeks where baby was measuring 8.

I got my positive at 9dpo too. It's a difficult one because your on a high from getting a positive but at the same time so aware of how wrong it can go.

Your in good hands here I think this board is great for not feeling alone and being able to share concerns etc

RedElleJ · 12/06/2022 15:06

Really sorry @MooBugz - I remember feeling so confused as we had an early scan at 6 weeks and everything was fine, even saw the heartbeat. I had some light bleeding and discharge at week 8 but the GP wouldn't send me for a scan because I had already had the viability confirmed privately.

Hopefully we can try and override the doubt that may creep in every now and then! I do feel a bit more positive this time round but I don't want to be setting myself up for a fall. How have you been feeling?

I don't know if I want to do an early scan this time just because of how it all happened before but I have plenty time to decide.

MooBugz · 12/06/2022 16:10

@RedElleJ that's awful having to go through that after seeing the heartbeat too 💔

I'm ok just kind of going with the flow right now, we have a holiday booked for mid July. It's also our anniversary next week along with OHs bday and my sons bday end of the month so I've got enough to keep me busy till the 12 weeks hopefully.

I'm trying to keep off the mc threads for now because the reality scares me and I just want to live on a cloud right now with positive thoughts only

Skylark1990 · 13/06/2022 10:01

For some reason I wasn't being notified of updates on this thread! So sorry to hear of your MC @RedElleJ , I remember being so scared of a MMC when I was pregnant with my daughter, it just feels so so unfair and horrible I'm sure to not even have the sign that things have ended but to find out later 😞 I'm glad that you and @MooBugz have eachother to share worries and give support as sounds similar. So sorry again to you too @MooBugz . And yes this will be a supportive thread for us all I'm sure.

I've had two early losses (4+4 and 4+6) so I guess I am thinking maybe by about 6 weeks I'll feel less nervous. But I know it can happen any time - equally like you both want to be hopeful and positive because worrying about it won't help, even if it does happen. I'm 4 weeks today so just really hoping things keep progressing. Did another test today and it's a smidge darker than yesterday's (after promising myself I wouldn't do another till tomorrow! 🙈 So feeling glad. With my second early loss I tested loads but the lines never got dark so I am glad they are this time 🤞🤞🤞

Skylark1990 · 13/06/2022 10:35

Re early scans, I am Undecided too. We didnt have one with our DD and it was actually lovely to see her for the first time at 12 weeks! I think if I'm feeling really anxious I might go for one at about 8 weeks.
But Ive also read recently that there can be risks with scans, especially if not done by a medical professional so e.g. at a private scan clinic rather than hospital. I read about some studies mentioned on the Mama Natural website so of you're interested it may be worth reading too just to make an informed decision on whether to do an early one or not!
I think ideally I'd just like to do the 12 and 20 week ones plus there may be others needed later on nearer to due date

RedElleJ · 13/06/2022 11:50

I hope you are doing okay @Skylark1990 - this must be quite a nervous week for you. Glad to hear the line is progressing though so that’s good ☺️ Hopefully things continue and you will see a wriggly little bean at 12 weeks.

I am currently waiting to hear back from my GP surgery - I have asked for progesterone in case I bleed which is the recommended treatment on the NICE guidelines and Tommy’s if women have had a miscarriage before.

www.nice.org.uk/guidance/ng126/chapter/Recommendations

www.tommys.org/sites/default/files/legacy/PRISM%20Infographic_v4_1.pdf

However, this can only be prescribed if the pregnancy has been confirmed as viable so I may very well need to go for a private scan if they don’t book me in for an early one. I didn’t realise there were risks to scans though, I will make sure to have a read.

@MooBugz Completely understand staying of the MC threads. And I completely agree, I think it’s important to be happy and positive about everything. So far, I think I’ve been much more positive than I thought I would be - even hubby is impressed 😂

Skylark1990 · 13/06/2022 14:10

Thanks @RedElleJ ❤️ I am hopeful but yes this week will probably be a little stressful! Even getting to 5 weeks will be a relief.

That's interesting you are looking into progesterone now, I thought it was looked at after two miscarriages plus bleeding in a third? I didn't realise it was given as a matter of course after one. I did consider trying to get my progesterone tested once I had the bfp but I didn't in the end as got busy with work that day and now it's probably too late anyway id say. I did get it tested last cycle in the luteal phase and all normal so I am thinking my miscarriages probably weren't as a result of low progesterone. Not sure tho! I also heard if you take it it can actually prevent you from losing a non viable embryo / fetus which could cause even more problems down the road 💔 but maybe that's just a scare story! Anyway Def an idea to get a blood test at least and see what the doctor says! Let us know! ❤️

Skylark1990 · 13/06/2022 14:12

Sorry what I mean is I basically thought that it would be more routinely offered after two or more miscarriages, or if you have had one and then early bleeding, they can offer it. But of course we can ask for it anyway and if needed they should definitely give it! Hopefully doctor gives a blood test. Is that what you'll try to get initially? Do you know if low progesterone may have caused your MMC? X

RedElleJ · 13/06/2022 17:28

Yeah I thought that they didn't offer anything until after 3 but on doing more research they can offer it sooner, if it is needed. I didn't realise it could extend/complicate a non-viable though so it is worth having a conversation with my GP about for sure.

I missed their call today - typical! But they are calling back Wednesday as they want to speak this week. So they may want me in for a blood test, they may also just want to explain why they won't offer it...who knows haha! But I suppose I just want to make sure I have advocated for myself and done the research - there is loads I don't know and haven't come across though so its nice to have these sorts of discussions.

We weren't told anything about why it happened - there were no investigations done. I find it highly unlikely they will do anything - they will likely just say if I do have issues to get in touch with them or EPU and they will act from there.

However, positive thinking - hopefully, it won't come to that :) x

MooBugz · 13/06/2022 18:02

Hello, been feeling a bit demonic with the moods today hope you guys are doing well!

@Skylark1990 this pregnancy will be different and this time next week you will be in a cloud 😁

I'll be 5 weeks tomorrow, I've decided against the early scan and just going to go with the flow. Probably more so because I'm convinced the mc I had was down to covid so keeping myself healthy as I can and then only thing I'm worried about now is catching covid again! I was double jabbed when I had it aswell so that wasn't reassuring.

I hope we continue to grow together it's nice to have company in this journey although once we get to 12 weeks we'll probably Al go awol haha 😆

Ps I'm not gonna lie, the knocker checking is already in situ 😩 trying to not put the pressure on but can't help it!!

OP posts:
MooBugz · 13/06/2022 18:04

Obv knicker not knocker, that's a different convo altogether 🤣🙈

OP posts:
madeinthe80z · 13/06/2022 18:36

@MooBugz I'm checking my knockers as well as my Knickers constantly 😂😂 (quick squeeze to check they still hurt!)

Hi all - I got my first bfp last Saturday over the jubilee weekend.

I had an early MC before having my daughter and an ectopic in Nov last year. Because of this, I have an internal scan on Thursday at the EPU to check everything is in the right place and I am not looking forward to it at all.

I'll only be 5 weeks so I know there won't be a heartbeat to see and so this will just raise the anxiety levels even further.

Trying to chill out but as you will all know, its not really possible.

It's crap we don't get the lovely excitement that should come with those 2 lines isn't it 😏

Anyways, I hope you're all doing okay and taking each day as it comes!

RedElleJ · 13/06/2022 19:34

@MooBugz It’s so hard when you can’t control external things like COVID. But, you’re doing amazing by focusing on your health 💕
The knocker check 😂 I’m obsessed with this to be fair - still not sore yet but I’m sure they will be soon 🤞🏻

Hi @madeinthe80z Sorry to hear about your losses. I hope the scan on Thursday goes well. It is crap isn’t it? Staying positive that the excitement and joy will come though x

MooBugz · 13/06/2022 20:16

@RedElleJ if it's any comfort mine don't hurt either! Just the tiredness on overkill but I'll happily take any symptoms coming if it means a positive outcome 😁

@madeinthe80z sorry to hear about your losses and welcome to the group, definitely taking each day as it comes and trying allow ourselves some happiness at the same time. Worrying isn't going to change anything I guess what will be will be regardless.

We're in this together ❤️🤞🏼

OP posts:
Skylark1990 · 13/06/2022 21:12

I'm absolutely doing the knocker and knicker check 😂 more so the knockers ATM tbh! To check they're still sore 🤣 oh dear.

@madeinthe80z so sorry to hear of your losses, I hope the scan goes well as it can on Thursday. Did they say they will get you in again once s heartbeat is detectable?

@RedElleJ that all sounds good, definitely worth speaking to them and understanding the options. At least they could give you a blood test maybe to test all the levels are good! I hope they're helpful and don't fob you off. When I initially spoke to a doctor about my miscarriages she said because they were before 5 weeks they don't technically count 😬🤦‍♀️ I was like erm do you know the science? A positive test plus late period means the embryo implanted and it IS a loss. Even if it's early it's still a MC at that point. Anyway! Another doc I spoke to was super nice and agreed to refer me to gynae even tho I've only had two not three. Although haven't actually had a call or letter about that yet. I guess the wait lists are big. Hopefully it won't be necessary at all! ❤️🤞Hoping this bean is my sticky one so much.

I had acupuncture today and she said she did some work to help hold everything and afterwards I started crying as I've actually been so stressed for various other reasons too. It was such a nice session though.

Skylark1990 · 13/06/2022 21:13

@MooBugz also thank you! And congrats on being 5 weeks tomorrow ❤️☺️ good idea to focus on health - I'm also trying to do this! Resting whenever I can and eating as well as I can as I'd also had some other health stuff going on recently. Did eat a pizza for dinner which wasn't good as it made my tummy hurt a bit, but hopefully counteracting that with being in bed by 9 with a peppermint tea!
