Here is a question for everyone - I accidentally had gone off oat milk in my cereal this morning. I thought my taste had just gone a bit funny, as it has done throughout this pregnancy, but when I smelled the milk it was definitely off or rancid.
I don't have a sore stomach..yet. I was just wondering if I should be worried I have caused any harm? I can't find anything online and I am afraid my GP is going to ban be from e-consults if I put another one in.

Franklin321 · 22/08/2022 17:59

@RedElleJ i think the worst that may happen is you get a bit of a funny tummy…I definitely wouldn’t worry about doing any harm! Baby will take what it wants and filter the rest!

Have you got a midwife you could text and ask for peace of mind?

RedElleJ · 22/08/2022 18:02

Thanks for the reassurance @Franklin321 - Unfortunately I don’t meet or get a contact number for my midwife until 16 weeks. I have a triage number to call but they said at my booking appointment that once again it was for those who are 16 weeks. So all I have is my GP and you guys 😂 x

RedElleJ · 22/08/2022 18:03

I didn’t mean that in a bad way either - you guys have been an incredible source of support x

LittleLottle · 22/08/2022 19:01

So I'm 10+4 today and my anxiety is pretty bad. I don't have my 12w scan for over 2 weeks, would I be crazy to get a private scan for this weekend? There's part of me that thinks the reassurance won't last long so to just wait but there's another part of me terrified that I'll go into my 12w scan and get bad news. I've had no more bleeding but still no symptoms of pregnancy!

MooBugz · 22/08/2022 20:15

Hi @LittleLottle that was my worry and I went for a scan a week before my scan for exactly that reason, I would go for it if it means giving you reassurance it's definitely worth it.

@RedElleJ I don't think there's anything to worry about it, when you think how much we can be sick with morning sickness and still be ok then a little off food should be no bother! Our bodies are styler strong ❤️

Saying that though I've been getting a bit of pain but not intense pain but on my left side and yday was on my right side just under my rib cage bit and little back pain today.

I'm sure it's all very normal but I doubt everything now! Even writing this I can feel some tummy cramping which is probably trapped wind!

doingitalllagain · 22/08/2022 20:49

@MooBugz Funny you should say that I was googling left side pain earlier as I was having the same!

I just put my three year old to bed and when I was reading his story I definitely felt the baby kick so I’m feeling a bit reassured again. Thanks everyone for the reassurance here too. It’s nice to have somewhere to fret a bit, as silly as it sounds in real life everyone seems to want me to be positive and think positive so I feel like I don’t always get to admit when I’m not feeling that way!

@LittleLottle To be honest the reassurance is short lived for me, but also lovely to have. I’m getting a lot more NHS scans than I should be (my consultant is doing them in his GP clinic he runs rather than through ultrasound and has said to keep a bit hush about it!) and I’ve still ended up paying for a private scan in between once because the reassurance didn’t last long enough. People do say sometimes they don’t want bad news at a private scan as it’s an anxious wait then for the NHS to follow up but to be honest I’d of taken that over the not knowing for 6 weeks. If it’s only for 2 weeks you might feel differently.

STom2 · 22/08/2022 21:17

Hi @littlelottle I had exact same worry and also went for a private scan at 11+1, a week before my NHS scan. So if you want the reassurance then go for it. I was still a little nervy going into 12 week one (I always am nervous at scans), but I was definitely reassured by having only had a good scan the week before.

WonderWoop · 22/08/2022 21:17

@LittleLottle nothing wrong with getting a scan sooner if that will help to put your kind at ease

Hope everyone else is well. I am 14w today (gained 6 days at scan last week!) and am sure I felt flutters on three occasions when sitting at my desk today. It's my second, so pretty confident I know what they feel like from last time, but it does feel super early. Fingers crossed they continue tomorrow and weren't just gas! 😂

doingitalllagain · 22/08/2022 21:30

@WonderWoop I’m 15 weeks and I’m sure I’m feeling them. It’s crazy to me as I had an anterior placenta with my son, and didn’t feel movements until closer to 30 weeks. Even then I felt them until 34 weeks and then a perfect storm of extended breech and anterior placenta meant I didn’t feel him again and had to go in for daily monitoring. I had an anterior placenta again last time but didn’t get as far as feeling movements. I fully braced myself for it again this time and hurrah it’s at the back!! I first felt what felt like something turning over in my stomach so I’m assuming baby changing position, I’ve had that a few times since not a kick but a turning feeling but tonight definitely felt more of a wriggle/kick when reading a story to my 3yo. I was leant right back in a chair which helps. So chances are you’re feeling it too!

WonderWoop · 22/08/2022 21:46

Aww thanks @doingitalllagain
Nice to know I'm not going crazy!
Would agree, it's not a kick but a turn or a movement of some sort
Will definitely help the nerves if it gets more regular!

Gamergirl84 · 23/08/2022 20:44

@doingitalllagain oh wow that's amazing! And super reassuring. Mind me asking how many weeks you are? Can not wait till I get those first little flutters 😄
@RedElleJ I had food poisoning the other day from bad cream and pretty much emptied my guts from both ends. It felt horrible at the time but I'm sure baby is fine 🙂 I've had some nausea since 😋

STom2 · 24/08/2022 10:47

I've actually felt occasional fluttering in my pelvis area when lying down. It's happened off and on since 12 weeks. But very much an occasional thing and a "blink and you'll miss it". It's moving up a little this week I think. But I'll have days where I don't notice it at all. I looked it up and did read you can feel fluttering from this early (15 weeks now) if it's not your first baby. I think that's down to a combination of things though- where they are situated, being able to spot those delicate movements earlier as you know what to look for. I'm still looking forward to the more reliable belly movements though as these ones are so infrequent I don't necessarily feel reassured by them. In case I am just losing the plot and its a nerve twitching or gas lol!

madeinthe80z · 24/08/2022 12:42

Hi ladies, hope you're all doing okay. I've been watching everything but haven't really posted for a while sorry.

I've started telling more people and to be honest it doesn't feel right! I just wish i felt more confident to enjoy it! I think we're all in the same boat. I'm really tempted to book in a scan as I'm not sure I can wait till 20 weeks! I have been feeling a few potential flutters too though (could be wind tho!!) so I'm just really hoping they increase to give me some reassurance. Nausea still present as well but is definitely getting better.

Anyways, enough about me, how is everyone else?

madeinthe80z · 24/08/2022 12:44

We're gonna need a new thread soon!

doingitalllagain · 24/08/2022 15:18

@madeinthe80z It is hard, isn’t it. As this is my third pregnancy I seem to of popped sooner and I look quite pregnant, enough that people have started asking which must mean it’s pretty obvious or they are very brave Grin it’s awkward because it’s not a secret and I won’t lie or deny it to anyone but when I do say it and they congratulate I me I just feel sick. I want to be excited to tell people but it’s hard! You’re not alone!

OceanbreezeSun · 24/08/2022 17:38

Hi all,
I had a midwife appointment a couple of days ago & got to here our baby’s heartbeat. It was lovely and reassuring all at once😄

I’m feeling quite a lot of kicks and flutters now - started noticing them more strongly about 2 weeks ago but I wasn’t sure if it was wind at first!
It’s usually when I’m lying down at night or early morning. Feeling quite good at the moment, still struggling with brushing my teeth though and randomly started vomiting last night after brushing them before bed😩

I hope everyone is feeling ok ❤️

MooBugz · 24/08/2022 18:27

@madeinthe80z how do we know when a new thread is due is there a cut off number lol I'll get a new one made in time!

Aww I feel the same but feel a little better after telling people like it made it a little more real. How exciting those of you who can feel some movements! Can't wait till that and also the glow up feeling haha.

@doingitalllagain bless this is my 4th (and last planned) and my tummy has popped too and even if it's just bloat I don't care I'm letting it hang loud and proud LOL

@OceanbreezeSun congrats that's lovely how far along are you again I think your one of the ones ahead of the rest of us if I remember right. I'm coming on to 15weeks which is exciting not long to the 20weeks mark which will also be the halfway point!

Lmcc88 · 24/08/2022 20:03

Hi guys!

@OceanbreezeSun Aw that’s great that you heard the heartbeat!

I honestly can’t wait to feel baby kick!

Can I ask what the general opinion is in taking a bath whilst pregnant? I’ve seen things online to say definitley not/they are good for you and only if it’s like warm and for 10 mins max …

Ally256 · 24/08/2022 20:23

@Lmcc88 I basically lived in the bath with my son and he came out fine! As long as you're not sweaty hot I'm sure it's ok.

MooBugz · 24/08/2022 20:35

@Lmcc88 you'll be fine taking baths as long as it's not in hot hot water that's where the danger lies as far as I know you shouldn't be overheated which is also why sauna is a no no

Lmcc88 · 24/08/2022 20:46

Thank you @Ally256 and @MooBugz ive been avoiding up until now but have really missed them!

Having a tiny bit of tummy pain so Im hoping a bath will really help

madeinthe80z · 24/08/2022 21:39

@MooBugz, I think the cut off is 999 posts!

MooBugz · 24/08/2022 22:17

Ok I've created a new thread then since we're almost at limit,

Sorry if I forgot anyone I tried to go back a few weeks!

Hi ladies hope everyone is well

15 weeks here today and another heavy red bleed at the weekend. So forked out another £65 for a scan to be told all fine and no explanation for the bleeding. I am telling my team at work tomorrow and couldn't face telling them with a big doubt in my mind.

Just need to accept I'm going to bleed continually throughout this pregnancy I think!! I'm hoping the next few weeks are the toughest left, once proper regular movement felt the bleeding will be easier to deal with!

It was lovely to see our little boy again though, seemed so much bigger than at the 12 week scan!

Hope everyone doing okay
