@AliceAbsolum congratulations on your good news and welcome to the group.

@Tofu35 dinner sounds great! I just can’t satisfy my hunger… which is my excuse to order a huge 1500 calorie pizza tonight 😆

I'm planning on telling my parents this weekend, but despite having a great relationship with them, every time I think about it some little gollum part of my brain goes "frankly it's none of their business". I had a similar frame of mind when I got engaged and decided to move out of the country, "none of their business". I'm just not a natural "sharer" I guess. Anyone else?

this is me! I never announced pregnancy one, and I was freelance and wfh so didn’t really need to. I went to a meeting once and they went “wow! You’re pregnant! But you didn’t tell us!” Um why would I.

I’ve had to tell work because I feel so disgusting and they were all “obviously confidential for now, just your line manager, you can announce when you’re ready.” I suggested I would be ready never, I’d just put my out of office on one day.

LolaJ87 · 28/04/2022 17:37

For the first time in almost a week I am starving and can think of nothing I want more than a chinese takeaway! I haven't eaten any meat in days, just been eating very plain, boring foods and now I'd give anything for some salt and chilli chicken balls, so that's exactly what I am going to have.

Apologies to anyone suffering from nausea/food aversions reading about this - I found it hard reading the cravings when I felt sick too but I'm so relieved to want things again and you will someday too!

Meowcat89 · 28/04/2022 17:38

@MsWonky @lovesT @stuntbubbles thanks for the suggestions guys, much appreciated! Will try the hot water one first and see how I get on. I have been struggling to drink as much as I was a few weeks ago which could be hindering me too, but even plain water makes me feel queasy sometimes 🫤

Laughingmole · 28/04/2022 17:52

@Meowcat89 im off tea and coffee at the moment and basically just drinking hot squash. Like hot apple and black current / hot cherries and berries. You might want to try that instead of plain hot water?

Laughingmole · 28/04/2022 17:54

I mostly just live off bread / crackers / crisps atm. With not much flavour. Dry, crunchy and bland! I can’t wait to start eating normal food again!

LolaJ87 · 28/04/2022 18:07

@Laughingmole that was me until today! Your day will come too 🙌

HayleyBean · 28/04/2022 18:16

I'm off tea, coffee, chocolate, chicken and mayo. That's it so far, the nausea is pretty constant but without the puking.

Meowcat89 · 28/04/2022 18:16

@Laughingmole squash is very hit and miss for me atm. I'm managing to get 2 morning decaf teas in if I don't think about them too much lol. I did used to drink about 6-8 cups of regular tea a day and quite a few pints of squash so it's a massive change. Maybe drinking them hot might be better will deffo give it a try.👍

Graceybaby · 28/04/2022 19:53

I still have no food or drink aversions or sickness.. or anything really!? 🙈

My boobs are sore on and off that's only thing reminding me that I'm pregnant 😂

Just counting down to my scan on the 14th.. I just need to tell people! I waited until after my 12 week scan with my first I don't know how I managed it.. I think I'm emotionally and physically finding it harder this time whether it's because I have a 4 year old and I'm just exhausted I don't know but I feel like I need the support more then ever this time..

xx

hopefulsunshine11 · 28/04/2022 19:59

I'm not having food aversions but I do want to eat everything in sight! 🤣🤣. Also, I'm constantly frozen!

hopefulsunshine11 · 28/04/2022 20:03

@Jj19 I've been getting this, I'm getting a lot of sticky white discharge and I'm constantly at the toilet checking as I can feel something to. I think a lot of it can be imagination but I've seen previous threads saying moisture is normal.

Tofu35 · 28/04/2022 20:19

My magic food right now is calyppo or just plain orange lollies. They're so refreshing and thirst quenching. I'm going to have to go to Aldi and pick up a few boxes, not saying it's a miracle cure for my stupid nausea but it helps it ease for a little while.

MsWonky · 28/04/2022 22:22

@hopefulsunshine11 I am the same! TMI but lots and lots of milky white discharge, I had cramping yesterday which has been replaced with a dull ache and stretched feeling (only way I can describe it) in my belly. Oh and laser tits 🤣

LC84 · 29/04/2022 05:09

Aargghh the insomnia 🤣🙈😳

Am absolutely knackered all day but for some reason takes me ages to sleep at night and wide awake at 4am... then absolutely bollocksed in the daytime again... the peeing every 2hrs at night isnt helping either 🤣

Cant work out if its the bean or just general anxiety about the bean!

I'm the same - I've been awake since about 4am today, finally dropped off about 10 minutes before my alarm - I can't stay awake when I get home though, and was in bed by half 9 last night. Its going to be a loooong day

lovesT · 29/04/2022 09:00

@hopefulsunshine11 I have the same, it's normal to increase in pregnancy 😊 @MsWonky that sounds just like what I'm experiencing too! Including laser tits 😄.

Can I ask a very personal question? 😬😬 Does everyone feel comfortable "doing the deed"? We did it whilst I was pregnant with my daughter but for some reason I feel nervous this time before 12 weeks especially as I had the brown spotting (which I'm pretty sure now was implantation) and that's now stopped. We're both kind of up for it (maybe because my daughter actually slept well last night 😅) but part of me feels a bit nervous even though I know technically it's safe in most pregnancies?!

Thanks if you're happy to answer!!

bbno2 · 29/04/2022 09:08

@lovesT We have already DTD since I found out I was expecting, but only the once so far - mostly because I just feel so nauseous all the time at the moment!

With my DD we didn't as it was a pregnancy following a MMC and I was super nervous about it. This time i've felt otherwise well (apart from feeling constantly travel sick) and had no spotting or anything so have felt fine to do it. You could always try and take it slow? Don't put pressure on yourself to continue if you feel uncomfortable or sore etc.

Tofu35 · 29/04/2022 09:55

@lovesT haha my boobs are sore all the time, I feel bloated and either super nauseous or exhausted. DTD is not on my radar at the moment 😂

I've booked an early scan. Nerves are absolutely shot just now! Just want to see our little kidney bean.

Boobs were sore the past couple of days and now they've just stopped. It's freaked me out.

I'm a worrier at the best of times, and I'm so worried I'm hurting it with my stress!

Tofu35 · 29/04/2022 11:10

That's great youve booked an early scan @Orcarain. How many weeks will your wee bean be when the scan happens?

It's always worrying when symptoms come and go, but it's very normal in the early days. A lot of posters here can share their stories about that!

Orcarain · 29/04/2022 11:55

@Tofu35 It'll be 8 weeks! I just hope that when I see them it'll calm me down.

My DP is the ying to my yang... he is so chill, but doesn't have the ability to calm me down. Thankfully he's on the same page with the early scan and isn't making me feel silly.

Jj19 · 29/04/2022 12:44

We have DTD a few times. I thought we might as well before the nausea kicked in and I wouldn’t want to for a while 😂 they say it’s safe if you’re low risk but I’m never too convinced otherwise they wouldn’t recommend people stop if higher risk 🤔

Tofu35 · 29/04/2022 12:50
