@larrythelizard glad you're feeling ok! DH lasted a day isolating away from us - you're right it's impossible. Then I got it anyway and DD never did despite being down your throat like small children are. Bummer about DHs trip but barely your fault although I still hold it against DH for ruining my birthday 😂

@DKDK123 arggg sounds a nightmare. I didn't get the glucose drink for some reason just the fasting bloods 🤷‍♀️ doesn't look too appetising and it's massive 🤯 enjoy your food!

@Minster2012 I have an exercise ball that I'm going to use as a birthing ball, I have been using it sometimes to sit on on an evening for back and rib pain so I think it could possibly help!

@Lexber great news your boy is now head down, I find it weird yet amazing how your body/baby knows what to do. Especially if there's 2!

My first visit this morning was in a place called Wombwell (about 35 miles away from where I live) so I know of it but the place name always makes me laugh. Took that as an good omen that all is well in the womb 👌🏼😆 appointment at 2!

Juno231 · 10/03/2022 12:50

@Minster2012 aah neighbour crap is so stressful/annoying i think. Ours have a HUGE bay tree that covers half of our south facing garden in shade but they don't give a shit so we're stuck lol

@DKDK123 haha bless you and your chicken sandwich!

@lexber what about baby girl, does she need to flip too?

@paintfairy ignore 0-1 I'd say!

So I'm a bit annoyed about my appointment this morning. Basically my cervix is a great length BUT because they can't find my LLETZ hospital records they can't dismiss me from obstetrics led care. Which means continued scans (plus urine and blood pressure tests) every couple weeks and no travel allowed! No way am I going to cancel my trip in April for a box ticking exercise 🙄. If the scans are all fine up until then I'll go anyway and there's not much that can do about that right??

Lexber · 10/03/2022 13:18

@bez91 it amazes me he has done it without me even knowing?! 🤣
@Juno231 it all depends on the lower twin who will be presenting first. So now he is head down again if he stays there for birth once he is out due to the increased space for twin 2 it wouldn't matter as she can freely dance about 🤣 also they would hold her safely in place to ensure her journey to the birth canal was in a straight line (head down or breech) the second one always gets a little guidance by the sounds of it.

Good news and not sure news... so he is head down and both are growing well. Altho her weight gain speed has decreased slightly. The consultant I saw today actually runs a twin clinic so is very experienced and has requested I am monitored more closely now to ensure all is ok. It could just be twin 2 is a little smaller (like my 2nd who was 6lb 13.5oz at 40+6) or it could be an upcoming concern over him stealing more nutrients from me 🤣 so appointment next week (32+1) to have blood flow checked (Doppler) and hopefully she can squeeze me into twin clinic to see her again, then another growth scan 2 weeks (33+1) to assess what's happening.
She wants me to deliver at 36 weeks not 37/38 just to be on the safe side so we discussed the dreaded steroid injections. She said prior to 34 wks it's a definite, 34-37 weeks it's up to me, 37+ not really needed so I said I would have them because as much as I've heard they hurt (I'm a wimp) I would take the hit for the babies well-being.

I'm kind of glad she's looking to induce me at 36 as the thought of 38 with these hips makes me want to cry! But at the same time.. shit that's only 5 weeks away!!! 😬🤦🏽‍♀️

paintfairy · 10/03/2022 13:40

I'll ignore upto 1 month then. 😁
@Minster2012 do you reckon normal tops can be got away with? Or will we have to have maternity ones? 🤔 As for the tree - it makes me laugh when they want it but wouldn't do the same for someone else? You can take height down though and not width? If it's for screening then you don't need it 50ft tall. But I would refuse to lose any screening aspect of it. We have conifers to our south side. They are ok but the old lady has them kept at a level by a gardener. I'm dreading her going, as it'll be horrific if someone moves in and just leaves them. 🙄 And no people don't give a shit! @Juno231 We have planted a couple of red robins and laurel between us and the knob neighbours though. They are still only level with the 5ft fence though. But if they grow to 90ft I might just laugh and leave it. 🤭 They don't need light anyway for their miserable existence.
@bez91 maybe everyone there has happy wombs!
@Lexber aarrrghhh this shit is getting real! At least they are looking after you though.
@DKDK123 chicken sandwich! Best one in the world.

Minster2012 · 10/03/2022 14:44

Wombwell MUST be a good omen @bez91

Yeah I totally get that it does stop light getting into their garden @Juno231 it's just that it's a big conifer and is the perfect shape as a conifer should be so taking the top off will look ridiculous! Plus if they won't do it for their neighbours the other side then it makes me laugh 😂 that's very frustrating on the notes, again bloody nhs but I agree I think you are fine to go away. Have you made progress with the builders?

@Lexber that's great they are both ok and one in position, also fab seeing the twin doctor, not so on the steroids but they will serve a good purpose I guess it's a case of that close monitoring and see what her say going forwards 🤞🏻

Talking of the upto 1 month @paintfairy I've been sent some gorgeous summer rompers by someone on the other thread after I sent a package through & they are lovely and fortunately look a bit big so hoping for some nice weather! I'm still wearing non maternity vests with my leggings & I'll prob still buy non maternity ones

Minsters Side Car - A few more bumps have now turned into babies - Thread 6
DKDK123 · 10/03/2022 15:21

@lexber Clever boy hooray for getting the right way, now to cross our fingers and toes he stays that way 🤞 It's good they're keeping close monitoring as time gets nearer, I think you're right as much as the steroids sting like a bitch it'll give you that bit more peace of mind that you're giving the twins a helping hand if they need it.

@Minster2012 well if they won't chop theirs down then I'd just call it karma 😂 And yes you're right you've far too much on your plate just now to be even considering trees! Wait see how nice and helpful they are once your baby arrives then consider if you want to do anything with the trees or not.
Very cute rompers 😍

@bez91 Wombwell definitely is a sign all is well in the womb!

@Juno231 that's great about the cervix length but really shitty about the admin! How do they just lose results 🤯 By the sounds of it medically it sounds fine to go away but the only thing that would worry me is your insurance being invalidated if something did go wrong while away, could you ask for them to put in writing all is well closer to the time to keep your insurance valid?

@paintfairy I've got maternity leggings but just wear non maternity stretchy tops with them

I have literally lay on the sofa since coming home was expecting to bounce straight back to normal after food today but I feel 100% wiped out 🤔 Luckily my mum has DS so I can just rest but also annoying as I had lots planned to get on with today. And I keep burping up tastes of that glucose drink even now 🤢

Kate105 · 10/03/2022 16:37

Hellooooooo I've been in work the past 2 days and time has just run away with me! I've done a quick skim, no mad drama, so glad you're all surviving 😂 PTSD has been an absolute angel for his Granny and then the devil incarnate as soon as he got home to me... he's finally cried himself to sleep on the sofa though so will try and neck a cuppa before he rises again from the seventh circle of hell 🤪

Just a couple of things @paintfairy YES to washable nappies! Why not get a few to start and then see how you get on with them? Then you could gradually build up to more as you get used to them. Having said that I went all in because I was worried I'd get too lazy with the disposables and never change over. Happy to give more opinions if you want! On that note, why not think about washable breast pads too? I've tried a few sets but the best ones by far are these ones. www.thenappylady.co.uk/washable-breastpads/mother-ease-stay-dry-breastpads.html Pricey, but sooooooo worth it. And you do not feel damp in them at all! And I leaked a lot to start with 😂 a pair lasts me 12 hours so I have 2 sets and I just fling them in with the nappies. I'm washing them every other day so it's regular enough to make sure I get the turnaround. I didn't get proper nursing bras to start with, just cheapo H&M crop top things. Easier until things settled down!

Franklydear · 10/03/2022 16:49

Well, af not here, bit of very faint spotting a couple of times, so now I am annoyed, either come or not, but at once! thank you everyone for the support, if I shout at DH he won't even know why so I might just leave it and test on my own when I fancy.
@Juno231 hope you can travel
@DKDK123 I had to have the glucose every two months cos my dad is type 1, it's huge and it's vile
@Minster2012 no to cutting trees for no reason, put a couple of bird feeders on it, and they'll have the noise in addition
@Lexber I just want to say something, anything, love to read about your twins

Hit me up for some knitting, love to make you things

becarefuloutthere · 10/03/2022 16:50

@paintfairy yeah you're right and she's bk up to birth weight and beyond now so worry over! We've been discharged from the midwife's now 🥳
Yeah you'd be hard pushed to use Alexa now, shame as it's a nice name. I first heard it with Alexa Chung bk in the T4 days!
@larrythelizard thank you but all is good and she's putting on weight nicely now. I saw an infant feeding specialist at one of the weigh ins and since then she's been gaining so I'm happy to leave it with what she told me as it's working well.
Aw hope you feel better soon xx
@DKDK123 thank you! See above, all is good now 😊
Argh I hated the GTT too, hope it went alright! Just seen your update, glad all went well and I too was burping up that drink, yuk 🤢
@Lexber ah hun, hope it passes and you feel better soon 🤞🏾
Yay to the moved baby and natural labour being bk on the cards 👏🏾
@Juno231 I'd still go too, seems very unfair for an admin error! Good news about your cervix 👍🏾
@Minster2012 cute rompers! I can't wait for summer 😎

Lexber · 10/03/2022 16:52

@Franklydear it still feels surreal!! 💙💖 the twins can't wait to say hello to their Auntie Frank ❤️ - just not quite yet hopefully!! Xxxx

becarefuloutthere · 10/03/2022 16:53

@Franklydear I hate when AF teases you, I hope something happens either way for you soon 🤞🏾 ah I would have ordered something but my mum knits too so she's already made me a blanket, hat and booties in two different colours. It's such a talent to knit! 😍

bez91 · 10/03/2022 16:54

@Juno231 that does sound a bit unnecessary if it's just due to not being able to find some records. I'd do the same as you and enjoy your trip away! Good news on the old cervix though 🥳

@Lexber we probably saw the same consultant today, I think she was the only lady there! Glad you're pleased with the outcome that they want to maybe deliver a little earlier which is to be expected with twins I suppose but shit yes 5 weeks is pretty soon!

@Minster2012 that's a bit annoying on the neighbour! We have elderly neighbours (he's 92) the fence between us is older than me and falling down. It's his fence, but we offered 3 years ago to pay for it so DD doesn't hurt herself on the nails poking out to which he refused and said "at my age I don't see much value in replacing it, I won't see the benefit" knob. Like @paintfairy DH planted about 15m of laurel hedging in front of it which is blocking their view into our garden which they enjoyed which is growing nicely 😆. All fallen down on the front which I'm sure when he and his wife croak it they'll leave to the new people.
Those rompers are so cute, girlie rompers are the best 😍

@Kate105 crop tops/bralets are a good shout, I have a couple but it's much easier to size as usually S/M/L until you know how big they're going to be!

All is well in the womb 🙌🏼 baby growing as they should on the 43rd percentile which is good for me and my size. Baby also engaged albeit maybe won't stay there as still have the excess amniotic fluid 🤦🏼‍♀️ BUT it hasn't increased which is good. So back to 4 weekly scans, she said it doesn't reduce will just probably induce me earlier than EDD

Franklydear · 10/03/2022 16:56

@becarefuloutthere much more special coming from Nana, sorry to take over your bus

DKDK123 · 10/03/2022 17:02

@kate105 they have a knack for being angels for others and absolute devil's for us, it's their ploy to make us parents look like liars when we complain about them 😂

@Franklydear once was enough for me can imagine having to do it every 2months 😲

@becarefuloutthere so glad she's back to above birth weight now and you're discharged from the midwife 🥳

Well I knew that glucose drink wasn't sitting well with me, got to the back of 4 and started spewing 🤢 Feel so much better now its out my system! However the good news is the results are back already and all is normal, no diabetes just a big baby which they said given my previous pregnancy is extremely reasurring, she's my little warrior indeed 😁😁😁💪

Minster2012 · 10/03/2022 17:20

@DKDK123 that's absolutely brilliant on the results & you can join me in big girl worry 😂she absolutely is a fighter!

Also great news for @bez91 we are having a great day with the scans 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳

@Kate105 welcome to the world of kids, Nigel's for others & leave the crap for us but tbh I'd prefer it that way than he was a shit elsewhere or no one would look after him.

My DS gone all scandi & is enjoying himself immensely digging a hole outside in some mud so I'm enjoying a sit down before making food

@bez91 thTs just it, we are totally down with doing stuff that needs doing & helpful things (would never leave a fence down) and annoyingly my dad & I were actually cutting the hedge that borders our properties. So we were cutting HIS bit cos we were there & it was easy. But the stupid things he said like "well have a word with DH & we could always negotiate on cost for it". Er no, it's our tree & we have no need to cut it so if we agreed to cutting it specifically for YOUR benefit then mate you would pay for it. Yours sound right knobs 🙄. Is it a good thing for baby to be engaged at this point???

@Franklydear that's really frustrating

@becarefuloutthere boooooom for being discharged!! Yesss well done you guys

Minster2012 · 10/03/2022 17:28

Also feel free to hit me up with easy painting ideas /colours to go with this fabric. I'm struggling to just find "paint" ideas that might be pretty easy to do without costing a fortune

Minsters Side Car - A few more bumps have now turned into babies - Thread 6
larrythelizard · 10/03/2022 17:54

Pleased for your chicken sandwich @DKDK123 hope results come through quickly and all Ok. Sorry to hear you've felt a bit off all day. Oh, read on, excellent news. Not surprised from warrior queen Emily!

@Juno231 good on the cervix length but argh on the admin etc, what a joke!

Pleased baby boy is pointing the right way now @Lexber. Sounds a result to have met that consultant and to have a plan, exciting!!

Good @becarefuloutthere pleased you're happy doing what you're doing

Not increasing is good @bez91 and I like the knowledge of an induction so you know when the end is (DS was 12 days late...!)

@Minster2012 you could pick up any of those colours in all/some of the walls - I like the mustard yellow. I like a bit of colour blocking so you could do the bottom half of the wall mustard yellow (or another colour) and the top white/something neutral - bonus points if it's already white (although guessing it's blue given the previous owners!)

I'll get another thread up shortly once I can escape the game of doctors I'm having to play...

@Minster2012 omg I love those rompers! I've been looking out for some cute newborn ones but I've not seen anything as nice as that yet! Hopefully I can manage with normal baggy/stretchy tops then. I suppose i only have 19 weeks left and I'm still OK for a while yet. Might just be the end that's a struggle. I did buy maternity leggings though @DKDK123 and they aren't as roomy as I thought, so it was probably a good job I did. 🤣 I do begrudge buying stuff I'll never wear again though so I'm trying to just buy bigger normal stuff where possible. I've ordered a bigger hoodie today as one i wear is snug and the other is OK but really thick and fleece like and no good for anything other than freezing weather. I also figure I might be a bit far post baby for a while. 🙄 Omg that drink sounds vile. I can't believe it made you sick! 🙈
@Kate105 I'll look at the breast pads, definitely easy to throw those in with the wash. The nappies- I read most aren't suitable for under 10lb anyway? Unless you get the size specific ones and obviously that'll end up even more costly. You do see them second hand sometimes. I am not against trying them, I just can't work out if I'll get on with them. So yeah having loads would be a nightmare if you ended up hating the whole saga. Which ones have you tried?
@becarefuloutthere yay! Brilliant news. And my mum knits too. She dropped me off a blanket she's done @Franklydear yesterday. Its just white as she started it before we knew what the baby was. But she's said if I go pick what wool I want with her, she'll do me some cardigans and stuff. I'm very lucky to have someone useful. I can't do it. 🤣 Or can't be bothered maybe..... 🤦‍♀️

larrythelizard · 10/03/2022 18:01

I escaped as the patient took badly to my suggestion that he should eat dinner...result!

If there's any errors in the list, blame @paintfairy - it's entirely her work (I just copied and pasted Wink

OP posts:
paintfairy · 10/03/2022 18:07

@larrythelizard harsh! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 But true. 🤭 I'm hoping it's correct, it's hard to keep up sometimes. People talk too much. 🤣

larrythelizard · 10/03/2022 18:09

Haha I know @paintfairy - my brain is mush today - it took 4 attempts for me to retain the new dentist appt date when I rang to cancel next week's appt today!

OP posts:
larrythelizard · 10/03/2022 18:10

Oh and @Franklydear I'm sure DH never really gets why I'm annoyed with him, I think sometimes he just nods along so I'll stop whinging about whatever it is

OP posts:
larrythelizard · 10/03/2022 18:10

And they are gorgeous rompers @Minster2012 - I do think girls have much better clothes!

OP posts:
Minster2012 · 10/03/2022 18:54

@larrythelizard I like the mustard & teal colours, was trying to think if colour blocking those 2 would look too much. Unfortunately it's a crap nasty old stone colour atm with off green carpet which is throughout upstairs...see pic though it doesn't show how depressing it is really

@paintfairy these are from next so you could get those in newborn I bet, and you'll def be fine in bigger tops, I had these tops before pregnant so not even had to go up a size yet & im nearly 30 weeks!
