@Juno231 know where dh has been shopping today?! We’ll get some more at the weekend, that looks brilliant, in Spain everything for newborns will be homemade, it’s a very traditional gift, also in the north rains a lot so you’ll spend many an afternoon knitting with your grandma, when I get home my niece always has a long list of clothes for her dolls that we need to make, I’ll try find a picture
@bez91 nothing you can do and worrying won’t help, also your colleagues will have to say something themselves if it’s unfair

Franklydear · 03/03/2022 19:35

@Juno231 last dresses we made

Minster2012 · 03/03/2022 20:07

A really quick check in as I'm so knackered we went to see DS's best friend from preschool after his school morning & it was lovely as she's also expecting a baby girl & is 5 weeks ahead of me. Apparently in preschool they talk about their baby sisters coming a lot & are really excited! But anyway they then went MENTAL this afternoon so it's been an afternoon of bouncing loud toddlers. She's also had nightmare appointments this week in hull with 3 appointments & being worried over preeclampsia (she had first at 33weeks due to it) but she's ok & booked in for c section in 3 weeks now!! All becoming realllllll

@Juno231 I'm sorry the first one was late then pointless but yey to extra scan, could you do what I did and rearrange your private one so it's at least a weeks difference?? Or in between the others? But that's lovely on the midwife though 💓I love that your BIL's girlfriends mum has knitted you something!!

@Lexber we are in the same may group!
(I knew that before though!) I said that about the lady giving birth yesterday & she's the same gestation as me 😬proper freaked me (but also made me think it would be ok so I guess that's ok!) I'm laughing at your kids getting freaked out though by kicks/pushing out tummy

@bez91 what they messed up your bloods again???? I'd be livid. Also wtf your work playing at that's awful. It's natural to be annoyed as you know it'll fall on others but you needs to look after yourself darling

Lexber · 03/03/2022 21:44

@larrythelizard it's also made me finish packing my bag too 🤣

@bez91 once I know their positions I can tell which is which but this last day or so something has changed, all good though 💙💖 heart both heartbeats and as there are 2 spent about an hour in monitor both had hickups at one point or the other. Hers I couldn't feel at all but heard on monitor, his I felt every hiccup 🤣 and it made my belly wobble each time.

How did I not realise this @Minster2012 🤣🤷🏽‍♀️ I wondered if any of you due in May ladies were in the group
Aww how lovely for the boys and how cute that they're both excited!

Minster2012 · 04/03/2022 06:50

I don't post much @Lexber but I spotted you when you put your gender reveal up what feels like ages ago! Glad the bag is packed though now

@paintfairy is it your scan today?

Lexber · 04/03/2022 10:36

@Minster2012 I think I've figured who you are 😉
I'm rather obvious 🤣🤣
I think @DKDK123 is in there also? I'm
Sure she said she had liked my gender reveal before realising was me 🤣🤣

I wonder if @bez91 is in the group also...?

Franklydear · 04/03/2022 11:55

I'll make you all broody

Lexber · 04/03/2022 12:16

Oh my gosh @Franklydear they're so cute!!!!

paintfairy · 04/03/2022 12:20

Hmmm re baby size I'm really not sure? Big baby doesn't = big adult and vice versa? My 6ft brother (parents are not that tall either) was born a normal size and wasnt a tall child either. And some people i know that had large born babies aren't tall. (Some might be overweight mind. Cough.) So it seems random sometimes? 🤷‍♀️
And mattresses. This is going to sound snobby (I'm not) but when comparing SIDS figures it's really not that straightforward. There will be a certain type of person that only uses second hand (very second hand) which are also the type of person that you wouldn't necessarily want looking after your dog, never mind baby. Also how many of these cases used blankets? Or anything else not recommended? So you can't realistically do a straightforward 2nd hand vs new SIDS mattress compassion. Of course most people would decide not to risk it and therefore buy new. But if you do know exactly where its been and how long used for etc, then you can make an educated decision on whether you deem it safe or not. There will also be people out there who have to just take whatever they can get. We are lucky not to be those people.......

@Minster2012 how much of this very big needle actually goes in? Because I'm not liking the sound of that. 🤣 And yes, but not until 4pm.
@DKDK123 that photo is so cute! Agree about the sleep and the baby. Pot luck! I hope i get a good one. 🤣
@Vil10 promising about the house!
@Lexber yeah must be difficult trying to tell. Imagine if you had 3 or 4 in there?!
@bez91 grrr about work. And the bloods, wtf?
@Juno231 ludicrous NHS system continues.....

Went out for food last night for DHs birthday. Was lovely. But omg. Firstly I shouldn't have eaten 3 courses. Secondly I don't know if it was too rich or what (Italian) as I'm usually OK, but god it gave me terrible wind. And I mean bad. Not just a lot but bad smelling. 🙈🤣 It kept me up part of the night and that's the first terrible night's sleep I've had since being back in my bed! 🤬 Raaarrrr. And now I'll be nervous so that's not going to help.....

feliznavidad2 · 04/03/2022 12:54

Lots of luck for later @paintfairy x

Lexber · 04/03/2022 13:01

@paintfairy it's feels more 3/4 at the moment that's for sure!! 🤣 my sleep was shit also - woke at 1am to randomly throw up so brushed my teeth after and back to bed to then be up at 3 desperately needing a pee...

Good luck today xx

Minster2012 · 04/03/2022 14:28

@Lexber I asked the same question on the monitors the other day ❤️

@paintfairy I didn't watch the needle go in so couldn't tell you 🤪wind is soooo uncomfortable when inside then embarrassing when outside 😩everything crossed for later!!

paintfairy · 04/03/2022 18:20

@Minster2012 well I'm hoping the needle didn't hurt. But don't tell me if it did. 🤣

20 week scan complete. God this was the worst yet, I was so nervous. I don't think I breathed. Took about 40 minutes. Everything looks OK though they said and confirmed girl! 💜 They were tight and only gave me 1 picture! 🤔
By the time I had finished the reception people had gone home. And I was supposed to ask about whooping cough vaccine. 🙄 Asked a nurse though who said i can get it at my next scan, or just drop in any time as long as reception are there. Or get it from the GP. I also couldn't get my MAT1b form (usually they do that there) as I'm only technically 19+5. So I'll have to ask my midwife about that.

bez91 · 04/03/2022 21:19

Glad all is well @Lexber 🥰 no idea what this group is you speak of, so nope no me in there 😆

Ahhh that's brill @paintfairy glad baby girl is all well! I'm sure if you ring your midwife base they will sort the MATB1 for you to collect

DKDK123 · 05/03/2022 00:45

Great news on the house progress @Vil10, it's all coming together for you now at last 😁

@franklydear that's so sweet that you and your niece knit dresses for her dolls 🥰 My Mum used to be amazing at knitting unfortunately early arthritis in her hands put a stop to that, wish I'd taken the time when I was younger to learn from her and knit with her. My sister did teach herself to crochet tho and I've a lady in work who told me she's already started knitting some things for baby so I'm lucky in that respect.

@lexber glad to hear babies are both doing well, it must be hard thr logistics of keeping tabs of the movement of 2 and knowing what postion they're in so you don't get worried if one feels less movement!
I'm not in the May group it was on one of the nubs pages I saw your gender reveal.

Glad to hear your scan went well @paintfairy, ours only ever gives one picture too that's why I like the private scans, not only do they give you multiple pictures but they try make sure they're semi decent ones too whereas the NHS one is a bit like boom here is your potato pic now out you go 😂 So frustrating that you're only 2 days from being allowed to get your MatB1 it could have saved you a trip.

The past 2 nights I've woken up sobbing with a nightmare that baby died 6 hours after I gave birth 😭 Both dream slightly different but both of them was at 6hours so now of course even once she's born healthily I'm going to be holding my breath and clock watching till 6 hours have passed before I can relax 🙈 I suppose it could be worse it could have been longer than 6hours in my dream and made me panic for longer in real life but still, not what I needed, thanks brain 🤯

Minster2012 · 05/03/2022 06:48

Was MN broken yesterday? I couldn't post at all 😫😖

Anyways.

@paintfairy that's excellent news on the scan & baby girl is REAL!!! 🥰😍I didn't even get a picture from my 28 week scan the other day which is annoying. The needle didn't hurt at all 🤥🤔

@Franklydear look at what I was given yesterday, love them

@Vil10 that's such good news on the house, come on May 🥳

@DKDK123 that's not such good news on the dreams/nightmares 😬but they aren't real darling, you are doing amazing & we know Emily is a fighter

Minster2012 · 05/03/2022 06:50

I woke up 3 times last night with my left leg spasming in cramps argh then DS up early again. This doesn't bode well for taking him for a road trip to my friends tomorrow night for a couple of nights 😫

kaylsd · 05/03/2022 07:48

@juno231 how gorgeous is that little outfit from your BIL gf mother 🥺🥺🥺💖
@bez91 could you potentially go to higher management above your boss about them not pulling out their finger in sorting out mat leave cover for you? Try not to worry about it too much I know it’s easier said than done as it’ll be their issue for not sorting it in time than yours 😘
@vil10 so happy about your house news darling! I don’t think I could stomach those smoothies you talk about I’m not really good with textures 🙈🙈🙈
@franklydear those little booties are so cute 🥺🥺🥺
@paintfairy so glad to see your scan went well and little one is cooking beautifully! I’m secretly crapping myself about my 20week one on the 31st more so than the rest I’ve ever had but I don’t even know why 🙈 I think it’s because of the gap between the 12-20 week scan! I got told at my 16 week that I’ll get my mat1b at 24 week appointment with her I wonder if it changes as different trusts 🙈 like everything else in the NHS
@DKDK123 it’s awful having nightmares I still have them every single night.. I wish there was something I can do because some of them are similar to yours about the baby or loved ones passing :( I’ve got everything crossed for it just to be a bad dream and no meaning behind it ❤️
@minster2012 I tried to update yesterday on MN and nothing would load 🧐 so I’m presuming it went down? Loving the yellow knitted cardigan 🥺 sorry to hear you had a shit storm time of it with your appointments for your anti d but you got it sorted at the end!

Been working the last 5 days other than Wednesday morning which I had my midwife appointment and managed to hear little bubs heart beat straight away! Is there any truth behind the train noise / galloping horse theory 🤣? I love old wives tales! She was reluctant to use the Doppler at first as our trust policy has now changed to not attempt Doppler until 24 weeks but because I asked and she knows I knew the risk behind not finding it she was willing to try :)! She’s actually lovely my midwife, my GPS associated midwife has now come back off long term sick who’s got a poor reputation of being not very nice but because I’ve had the other one who’s took cover I can choose to stay with her for continuity! Had some hard emotional shifts at work this last week & covid cases are so high again in my area my trust has shut down full visiting and discussing whether they are suspending partners in maternity 🥺 just feel abit anxious with it all again!

When did people first feel their flutter movements I know it can be right until 24 with some depending on placenta position? I’ve not had anything yet other than gas 🤣👀 have a lovely weekend ladies, been so lovely seeing all the beautiful bumps on IG & scan pics 🤰

DKDK123 · 05/03/2022 09:31

@Minster2012 our hospital only give you a scan pic for the 12 and 20week scan, any additional scans don't come with a pic, it's maybe the same for yours.

Has anyone been watching the American version of one born every minute on amazon prime? It's quite comical as they obviously over dramatise everything (it's maybe where my dreams have been coming from as quite a few episodes they weigh heavily on the dramatic pauses of babies coming out not breathing 🙈). But it seems to be giving birth is very much a family affair with multiple people in watching the birth, I couldn't think of anything worse than my parents, siblings, grandparents all being there, we didn't even tell anyone we'd had DS till hours after just to give us some peace and quiet in the hospital 😂 It's quite interesting to see the comparison with here too as the seem to be very much pro epidural straight away but really anti c section like it's the worst thing that can happen if it ends in a section.....tho I'm wondering how much of that is due to the additional financial cost they'd have with a section 🤔

bez91 · 05/03/2022 09:45

@Minster2012 snap on the cramp last night 🤦🏼‍♀️ my calf is so sore today. Feel for DH, as DD woke up about midnight screaming with growing pains then I woke up doing the same at about 2am 🙈 are you all staying over at your friends?

@kaylsd thankyou 😊 my Director approached me and she said stop visits apart from what I have booked in so that takes me to the end of March, the problem is the associated call centre can book things in my diary so I've just blocked myself out until start of my mat leave and they'll have to have conversations elsewhere. I'm sceptical about the old wives tales, did that last time with the heartbeat sound, the wedding ring one and loads of others at work that an older colleague knew and all said boy 😆 that's really good you got to stick with your midwife. We are assigned one here but I've never seen the same one more than once 🤷‍♀️ hope you've got a few days off now to recover from your shifts, especially if they've not been great ones! I still have no idea on the partner stance at our hospital, will have to check that out. My best friend has a C-section in April 2020 and her partner could only come in for the 20 mins she was in theatre and I remember being at home knowing she'd gone in sobbing because it must have been so awful for her and her partner. It does make you feel anxious

@DKDK123 I'll have to keep an eye out for that. I also couldn't think of anything worse than multiple people in the room, we also didn't tell anyone we were going in but this time needing childcare it will be a bit different 😬

feliznavidad2 · 05/03/2022 09:57

Lovely scan news @paintfairy we got a few pics when attended our NHS scan, not entirely sure why as the lady didn't seem particularly enamoured with me but 🤷‍♀️ they sent my MAT1B certificate through the post so maybe they'll be able to do that for you?

Poor you @Minster2012 and gorgeous knit bits! Think cramp is quite common in pregnancy - as all the uncomfortable things seem to be.

On my own with DS until tomorrow eve, OH is having a couple of nights away with friends. DS and me were bed mates last night which was fine until he took his wet pull up pants off and had a petition and putting clean ones on... 😫 he was nearly dry every night but seems to be having some sort of regression. My Mum is coming later which is nice. Praying for a more restful sleep this eve.

paintfairy · 05/03/2022 10:15

@DKDK123 omg what an awful dream! I hate that. I dreamt i was at a horse event and some bloke I went to school with was in my tent and wanted to sleep with me. Someone in my fb friends with, haven't seen since school either? Weird. 🤣 I think it was because DH and I had a cheating conversation last night, following watching MAFS. And yeah we said the same about the private scans. DH actually said today he thinks had we only had nhs ones he'd be traumatised by the whole thing. As for family all being there- i can't think of anything worse! I'm kind of glad people can't visit in hospital atm too as I know I'll be hating it! I like my own space.
@Minster2012 I'll look forward to the dreaded needle. Oh and you'll get one at birth too! Although by that point you'll likely not feel it. 🤣 I wonder if at the 28 week scan (because it's an extra) they will think you don't deserve a picture? 🤣 I'm not even sure if you get any more further down the line though? Because they'll be too big to fit on a picture maybe? 🤔 Honestly no idea. All I can say is I'm hoping the other scans are a shorter time. She was really pressing yesterday and it all seemed to take forever. The leg doesn't sound ideal!
@kaylsd I think the 20 is more nerve wracking because they are looking for issues? And I've been feeling mine more the last week or so (19) but I did feel it before. You just don't realise its that and it's not consistent. Its very slight. I would not be happy if my DH couldn't come to hospital stuff!
@feliznavidad2 🤣 yeah bed mates is fine. Wet pants less so.......

Minster2012 · 05/03/2022 12:00

@kaylsd I felt a couple of flutters at around 20weeks but then nothing much til 23weeks when I actually went to the midwife as no movements. 2 days later I could feel much more & yet I've got a posterior placenta so was just quite late I guess. I'm pleased you got to hear the heartbeat, mine only did it as a favour too at that appointment

@DKDK123 I think yeah it's that with the pictures, as I found the ones from DS's growth scans the other day so we obviously got them there but maybe that was cos different trust or cos it was something we could take home?? I'm definitely adding that to my watching list (as I'm spending more time chilling out now watching crap you'll all be pleased to hear 😋) though I too am in the camp of no extra ppl I can't think of anything worse. Same with @bez91 though ppl will know when I go in (especially as c section) cos of looking after DS & Dogs. I know from American friends that they are very pro formula from early on too.

Oh my goodness @bez91 that would be horrible for your friend & her partner, how awful 😢. We were similar last night, I got up twice then DS got up at 5.45 so poor DH. So I'm here with DS tonight (DH went off stalking at 10 he's back late tomorrow night) but DS & I won't be here as we are heading down south at lunch to my friends for couple of nights then meeting another friend on Tuesday for a play date & meeting a gorgeous baby 🥰

@feliznavidad2 I def think it's all the crap uncomfortable stuff that is pregnancy stuff. I'm lucky to not have felt too bad but my hip ligaments are feeling it now with my back. I too am here with DS for tonight then we are road tripping!

So I just had a nap (as DH took DS to my parents) as i have a night treat this afternoon & DH buggered off when he was meant to be on duty...I have a 2 hour spa session...a pregnancy massage, a body exfoliation & facial and I can't wait. Then back to walk the dogs 🐶 & go get DS. But I'm having a very relaxed day here atm

Juno231 · 05/03/2022 16:05

@Minster2012 i thought today was lasagna day??

@DKDK123 ha so i follow the babybumps subreddit and nearly on a daily basis people complain about how their MILs have the expectation that theyll be there for the birth. Seems to be a big problem over there, with people actively hiding when they go to give birth and set passwords with the maternity ward so people cant just ambush them at the hospital. Madness!

So I had our private scan today but madam wasn't very cooperative at all! First I had to jiggle my butt on the bed, then jump around the room - before they told me to go for a walk and have something sweet and fizzy to drink. No dice though! She remained with her back to us and face hidden away. The only thing we managed to do was get a potty shot and confirm that she is indeed a girl ♥️. I'm just glad she is okay!

Oh and my placenta has moved out of the way (was anterior at 12 week scan) and is now mainly posterior so I should hopefully start feeling flutters in the next couple of weeks (17+2 today). So don't worry @kaylsd I'm right there with you on just having gas 🤣

Minster2012 · 05/03/2022 16:31

@Juno231 oh sorry I totally forgot about your scan I'm really sorry, it's great she's ok and still a girl but not very good on not being cooperative. X was like that for every scan! And your placenta has moved 😚that's great!

God I literally would hate other ppl at the birth. It was bad enough when my friend called to say her waters had broken at 3am so we rushed over to be there, letting ppl know so they could get the dogs but then NOTHING happened til the afternoon so I was just then fending off calls & texts from ppl as news spread wider she was in labour. It was so annoying as I couldn't really ignore as I wasn't giving birth 😜

So relaxed after the spa it was amazing, dog walking in the rain afterwards though kinda takes the shine off 😛
