@Timetobemumanddad ohh how exiting!
I hope today is the day for you! X

feb2022 · 15/02/2022 11:38

@Timetobemumanddad I've been up and about today as much as I can, I've resorted to bringing all of the snacks and a flask of juice so I'm not up and down as much, seems to be helping a little 👍

Dogt17 · 15/02/2022 11:41

@Timetobemumanddad how exciting for you. Good luck!

CucumberCool · 15/02/2022 17:33

Turns out it wasn't laten phase of labour, it was full blown labour!

Got to birth centre later after minor bleeding, no other changes, only intensified pain in lower back and period pains, to be check for first signs of labour to be told I was 8/9 cm dilated!

Hopefully be home soon to settle in a get some sleep. It's been a very long 24 hours!

Dogt17 · 15/02/2022 19:20

@PrettyPlatapus congratulations. Hope you managed to get some rest now and you’re home soon

Hello Mamma’s to be and who has already given birth

Very late to the forum 😝

FTM here on 38+6 days... I don't feel any pain and real contractions haven't started yet. - is that ok?

Also, I am active in house in a way that I do some birthing ball and exercise, up and down on stairs, house chores and cooking but lazy going outside for walk.
Is it ok? as lots of my friends are just advising me to walk walk and walk but to me it's all about being active, isn't it?

Also, anything else I should be doing to have smooth labour- already eating 6 dates and drinking red raspberry leaf tea

Thanks in adv xx

MStarG · 17/02/2022 08:03

@Dogt17 thank you for the advice and apologies for such a late response, it's been a journey! Ended up going into spontaneous labour which started calmly and slowly. Husband got sent home at end of visiting and then things moved super fast. By the time they sent me to labour ward begging for an epidural it was too late! I may have feared an induction for how quickly things would move but that's what my body gave me anyway, haha! Having not had the epidural I would have no qualms about it if there is ever a next time. Baby boy born morning of 11/2. Been in hospital a wee while with jaundice but happy to finally be home. Good luck to those still waiting, now all I have to do is get through a house move tomorrow Hmm

Dogt17 · 17/02/2022 09:42

@MStarG it does sound like a journey! But congratulations. Good luck with the house move and then please try and get some rest!

Dogt17 · 17/02/2022 09:45

@MStarG I’m still waiting. Currently 2 days late with no real signs of anything happening. It’s strange going over as my DC1 would have been a week old by this point 😆

feb2022 · 17/02/2022 10:39

@MStarG congratulations on the arrival of your little boy 😊
Good luck on the house move, try not to stress yourself out, just concentrate on the little one and let everyone else do all the lifting and moving etc

swiggles · 17/02/2022 19:23

Hello ladies, baby girl here born on 15th Feb by an Elective section. Came home yesterday and trying to rest as much as poss but hard with a little toddler who is adjusting. Anyone else in the same boat? Good luck mummies still waiting to meet their babies!

CucumberCool · 17/02/2022 19:55

@Maddie020

Hi Maddie,

It's fine not to be in any pain yet, you may well have another two weeks to go!
I was active right to the day before, sitting on a birthing ball and going to a walk. I certainly went up and down stairs at this point too, infact I didn't realise I was in labour and went up and down stairs! I saw my midwife two weeks before then had an apt set for the day after my due date, and remember you can always call them for reassurance.

Hope everything goes well for you. My advice is to trust your instincts. XX

@swiggles - mine arrived on Tuesday too! Adjusting with a 7 y/o which is interesting...I didn't realise how much much I was flagging until I ate and slept. Partner had bub for two hours when I slept and my goodness did I woke with such a start! Felt good once I calmed down! Hope you get some sleep and nourishment soon xx

catinthehat12 · 17/02/2022 21:01

It was suggested by the consultant to have an induction as baby is measuring big, so have been in hospital for past couple of days but the whole process has been so slow and I am not even 2 cm dilated, so have decided to go home. I was impatient and took the induction as an earlier chance to meet my baby, but definitely have come to realise that this was the wrong decision and the baby is definitely just not ready. I am very glad that I have come to this realisation before proceeding and having a birth I definitely did not want! If anyone else is reading this and getting impatient, definitely wait it out if you can.

Timetobemumanddad · 18/02/2022 00:56

It was Labour! Baby girl born 16/2/22 at 05:08!!l good luck all xx

Chichimcgee · 18/02/2022 02:06

Unfortunately I was kicked off the fb group, I still have no idea why and it still hurts so I don’t know who is who having their babies but I’m so pleased for you all! A week left until my baby girl is due, I can’t wait Smile

Dogt17 · 18/02/2022 07:50

@Timetobemumanddad Congratulations! I’ve been looking for your update. I’m still pregnant, currently 3 days late and no signs at all.

feb2022 · 18/02/2022 08:27

@Chichimcgee just over a week for me too I'm so exited... I just wanna inhale that newborn smell now and I'm getting really uncomfortable, I've had a few cramps but nothing substantial as of yet

feb2022 · 18/02/2022 08:27

@Timetobemumanddad ohh congratulations how lovely! 😊

Skybooks · 18/02/2022 15:36

@prettyplatapus I've got a 6 year old at home, baby was born on the 7th, how is your older one doing? DS is super excited and wanting to cuddle baby but does seem a little emotional. It's definitely more of a change than he was expecting.

Dogt17 · 18/02/2022 18:37

Could be nothing but I’ve started with backache, really aching that I can’t even have the waistband on my trousers on it. I also feel really sick. Absolute wave of fear has come across me that this could be the start of labour & I’m now terrified. I had a really long traumatic birth with DC1 and I don’t want to have to go through that again. Currently laying on the bed feeling completely overwhelmed and fighting back tears

CucumberCool · 19/02/2022 01:40

@Dogt17
How you doing now Dogt? Hope the terror has subsided. Do you practice any breathing exercises? In for the count of 4 through the nose and out the mouth for the count of 6, is really helpful I found.

CucumberCool · 19/02/2022 01:47

@Skybooks
She was surprised at how small she was and a little disappointed she wouldn't be able to play together yet I think! She was very sweet talking to her though, telling her all about the house and family 😊 she my SD though so won't see her again until late next week.

Dogt17 · 19/02/2022 02:30

@PrettyPlatapus so I lost my mucus plug at around midnight & my waters have been going since about 1 o’clock. No contractions yet which is what happened with my DC1. Hospital told me to ring in the morning if I haven’t gone into labour to get checked out.
