I've had my booster AND I have Covid right now. Day 6. I don't know about a non booster experience but mine has been alright. Omicron is like a rotten cold, that's all. Had a lot of headaches. Quite thirsty too.

Anyone here thinking of using cloth nappies?

EarlGreywithLemon · 04/01/2022 16:03

On where the baby slept: our daughter slept in a Snuzpod at night and in a Moses basket in the day. Both lasted well - we used the Moses basket to five months and the Snuzpod to almost 8 months. Our daughter was on the 90th centile and tall, but she still fit well. The top of the Snuzpod is removable from the base, but we found it too large and chunky to take up and down the stairs.
When she was awake she was in a bouncer after she reached the required weight (I think at about 3 weeks or so). However, my back went very very bad when she was a month old, which threw a big spanner in the works with the bouncer as I just couldn’t bend low enough to pick her up and put her in. We then bought her high chair earlier than planned and used a newborn attachment which meant she was up at waist height. That was a life saver, and also very helpful for when we were eating and she wanted to see what we were doing. Eating holding her was doable but it was so much easier this way.

EarlGreywithLemon · 04/01/2022 16:04

Oh, and she also loved her baby playmat with hanging toys when awake

czycoup · 04/01/2022 16:27

@MrsNT thanks for the tag, I feel honoured 🥺

@PeeAche I have mine this week. I've been testing and I know it will come back positive for GD 😭

MrsNT · 04/01/2022 16:34

Hello I'm here for another thread :)
I've had my midwife appointment and now there's over a month til my next appointment which will be the 20 week scan.

@PeeAche I've been thinking about cloth nappies, reusable nappies but I haven't done much research on it.

czycoup · 04/01/2022 16:40

@MrsNT I think it varies. With my first I had it done about week 28. Because I've had it before this time round they are testing around week 16. Although a previous pregnancy I had under a different trust tested right away at 6 weeks but where I am now refused to test until 16 weeks.

I think also if you go to a check up and your urine indicates GD (maybe sugar in urine? Not 100% sure) then they might test then or they might see how things go. Again, not sure on the randomness one because I've not experienced it just from what I hear in my GD FB group.

They should tell you at your booking if you need a test or not. I hope that helps?

pregnancydiaries · 04/01/2022 16:41

It’s scary isn’t it @MrsNT. I’ve made the decision I definitely won’t be getting it due to some really bad complications after both first and second doses but I think I need to accept that unless I lock myself in a room for the next 6 months that I’m going to catch it….so I’m worried about what will happen when I do. Are you thinking of getting it?♥️

Thanks @PeeAche, I had COVID in September so praying that gives me some immunity in the least. Glad to hear it’s not terrible for you but hopefully it clears up soon xx

InvisibleDragon · 04/01/2022 16:42

Thanks for starting the new thread!

Cheated and paid for a scan at 16 weeks - it's much cheaper in Egypt - to find out the sex. We're having a boy! Very excited!

One of my husband's colleagues had said we can have a lot of their baby stuff very cheap, so a lot of the decisions about which cot etc were made for us. I'm pretty glad about this as I hate making expensive decisions and if something doesn't work for us we can always replace it. Also saving so much money, which is good as I won't be getting full maternity pay.
