As I'm avoiding doing any of the useful stuff I should be doing I thought I'd just pop another sidecar up x

Haha @whatwonder I know right!! That seems only the other week!! I carried a tampon around for weeks worried if I didn't I would curse it 🤦🏽‍♀️🤣 what a numpty! Hoping for another 12 weeks yet but in reality they could be here much sooner. Ideally not before 35 weeks!

It really has gone so quickly!!

Oh has started on the nursery so we have somewhere to store things as currently I have boxes and piles of clothes and bits sorted in our room. We have everything we need if they come to start with so I'm quite relaxed - car seats, travel system, side of bed cot, clothes (some tiny, some upto 1 month, some newborn...) prep machine and bottles incase I can't BF but no formula or nappies yet! That's this weekend

Justanothercyster · 26/01/2022 11:54

@2020mission I had a fever and was very fluey after my booster 🥶🥵 I had Pfizer jabs during pregnancy and then the Moderna booster. Only lasted a day though then was fine x

@Minster2012 if you're lucky you'll be given all the useful stuff like we were 😂🙈 we have been given SO many clothes for all sizes so haven't actually had to buy any and she's not worn half of them 😢 I will say download the Emma's Diary app as you can claim 9 bags of free goodies from Boots! We've not had to buy any wash stuff or nappy cream etc still! And nappies we're a nice part of one of them too!
SUPER CUTE about X loving the baby 🥰

@Crazydoglady123 eek! So exciting!!

@becarefuloutthere oooh how did it go? Little monkey!
We're ok thanks, she's so intense but chilled all at once, love her so much 🥰 watching her change and develop everyday is fascinating! She babbles a lot recently which is just too cute!

@Vil10 we don't normally celebrate love day but last year we did and conceived 😳😂 maybe we should avoid DTD this year on that day 🙈🙈 Cooking a nice meal and pudding is always a win 🥰
Argh you've had a right time with it all! Hope the dog is better x

@larrythelizard I would go with the big room and a sofa bed if it were me, saves the hassle of having the change everything over later on

@Juno231 oooh yoga sounds lovely, jealous about the massages!

@becarefuloutthere I had the balloon induction after everything else didn't work, it did help me dilate so they could put me on the drip but still nothing :/ ended up with the c sec in the end as I was too exhausted to carry on. But I'm super unlucky so I'm sure it will work for you 🤞🏼 I will say, I personally didn't find it as painful as the prostin gel, but still unpleasant and you feel like you're peeing down the tube and missing the loo all the time 😂

@paintfairy baby girl born 10.11.21 ☺️

2020mission · 26/01/2022 12:43

Thanks @Justanothercyster and everyone else who has fed back on the vaccines for me 👍 @Justanothercyster did you have your booster after your LO was born? As long as I am well enough to breastfeed and look after Matthew I'm happy to go with it 😅 how has breastfeeding been for you by the way? I've been struggling as my milk supply is low after I had to go to theatre after Matthew was born so didn't get to feed him or do skin to skin for hours and the postpartum haemorrhage also impacted it too.

It's interesting how different inductions are for everyone. I felt nothing when they put the gel in, just the contractions when they kicked in. I'm still a bit frustrated that no one told me it can increase the risk of PPH and I still wonder if I wouldn't have had all the blood loss and 5 nights in hospital if I went into labour naturally.

bez91 · 26/01/2022 12:46

@Juno231 the soundproof plasterboard is a good idea. We overlooked that, how we've extended basically the wall between the upstairs bathroom and what will be babies room houses the pipework so with stud walls you can hear someone showering in the bedroom next to it we discovered last night but at least it's white noise 😂

@Vil10 ahh what an event filled evening and not a fun one either 😩 surely it can only get better! Don't read into RHR at this stage, you're 2nd trimester material now!

@Lexber realised this morning; I still have tampons in the work bag 😅

@paintfairy good idea! EDD 14/05/2022 team yellow 💛

I've just received my official letter from HR about mat leave arrangements, dates and pay 😳 seems a bit real

paintfairy · 26/01/2022 13:48

@larrythelizard I'll send you the list when I've got them all.
@kaylsd we've been watching the tourist. We haven't started trigger point yet.
@Juno231 soundproof board. I wish we'd put that between us and next door! The back bedroom is horrific. They woke me dragging chairs across the kitchen floor this morning, I can't honestly work out why it's so loud? The front half of the house isn't that bad. All of our walls are brick though (so no stud walls) so I expect the bedroom hearing noise issues aren't too bad.
@Vil10 ignore the rhr 🤣
@bez91 God, official HR letter. I've not even told my work yet. I don't really know when to? Clearly can't leave it months like. Has anyone else at my stage told work yet? 🤔

God, I think I need pregnancy yoga. I just hate going anywhere though on my own. I was saying to my mum the other day that my child is going to be completely anti social as it'll never see any other kids. 🤣 I have no friends with children. The hospital anti-natal classes look to be online because of covid (no one has mentioned this though and I need to ask about it). The private ones must people use have no dates in my area (either too early or far too late) aside from online ones. So you just aren't going to meet people. And once the baby is born I can't think of anything worse than baby sensory and all that nonsense. So I've decided we'll have to use a CM or nursery purely so our child sees other kids. 🤣
And I'm stressing I'll end up with a plasterer here after birth because no one can pull their finger out and reply to you? I just don't get it? Why waste time giving you a quote and then when it comes to booking in, its like pulling teeth? Just give me a date ffs?! 🤬

bez91 · 26/01/2022 13:53

@paintfairy I'd have left it longer if I could tbh. I told them at 14/15 weeks only because I sometimes bump into so crazy ass people in the places I visit 🙈
You've got a bit of time for a plasterer but I get it, most of them are bloody useless!

What pregnancy yoga online do people recommend? I've been really bad for exercising since my BFP, I seem to have an irrational fear that if I move too much something bad will happen 🤦🏼‍♀️ I was so active when pregnant with DD

DH is off this week as he has AL to get in. Day 3 and he's not ticked anything off my to do list yet 😂

Lexber · 26/01/2022 14:50

@bez91 maybe I should call my baby girl Lilet... 🤣🤣🤣 I've not had my letter yet but discussed it all and we've put provisional dates in place because there's a big chance they will change! My replacement starts 14th Feb... so atleast work will be prepared if I do have to go early!

@Justanothercyster I keep forgetting about the Emma's dairy app - 9packs?!? Wow I didn't think it was that many!

My Oh is a plasterer @paintfairy it's a shame we aren't closer or I could have sent him round one weekend 🤣 on the plus side he is doing our nursery from scratch so has his uses!

Kate105 · 26/01/2022 15:07

Ah that makes sense @larrythelizard we have a similar set up but a cheapo bodge job version (my specialty 😂) with a changing mat on top of a chest of drawers!

Lol forgot you'd want a full date for TSD he's 14/10/21 💙

What a mare @Vil10 hope all calms down!

Oh @Minster2012 with TSD there's always a party in the night 😂😂😂 but the dolphin noises didn't start until 6 so at least the night parties were fairly chilled affairs for once. More like a sophisticated soirée than a dirty rave if you will.

On the vaccine chat @2020mission i had Pfizer to start during pregnancy then the Moderna booster after TSD arrived. Felt a tad ropey after the first jabs, but the booster only gave me a sore arm.

There'll be something out there for you @paintfairy ! I'm not antisocial by any means but I do have an instinctive dislike of anything floaty eg yoga, baby sensory, baby massage... but I've found a walking group which is much less nonsensey. Mind you, why they don't serve wine at any of these baby groups is beyond me. Then I would know I'd really found my people...

Juno231 · 26/01/2022 15:31

@paintfairy ah I can't wait for all that stuff! Luckily I think there's loads of it near me as well. Shame you can't attend prenatal classes though! I'd say it's worth doing the virtual ones as the mums still set up WhatsApp groups and local meet ups etc

@Vil10 Holy crap! At least that's 3 things going to shit so there won't be any more lurking??

Well my appointments were such a shambles today that I've had a headache since this morning. I got to the GP surgery for my 10.15 appointment only to be told it's not there, it's at the hospital. Dashed to the hospital like the infamous running pig - only to be told there's no appointment there either??

I got messed about for 40 min at the hospital whilst they held my maternity book hostage and insisted they could sort something out and that the doctor was ready to see me after all (I highly doubt it as some women in the waiting room has been waiting 2h!) - only for some sort of nurse/midwife to come out and talk to me like I was a moron, explaining that I have an 11am appointment at the GP surgery for blood tests.... Yes thanks I know, I ALSO had an obstetrics appointment booked???

Anyway I ended up pig running back to the surgery for my blood draw and emailed my midwife about the debacle. Turns out there was no 10.15 appointment and she reckons the admin team just sent me the appointment details by mistake 🙄

Minster2012 · 26/01/2022 15:37

@Vil10 there is a reason you haven't looked at the RHR darling, cos no matter what it's doing all is fine 😊. Step away from it

@paintfairy you might feel differently when baby is here. I NEEDED to get out the house more than he did.

@Kate105 if I were in charge of baby groups there would be wine. I did one group where there were 2 ladies I then when to lunch with afterwards & we partook in the right refreshments!! I like the sound of a walking group. Do you walk then go for a lunch pub lunch? With wine?

@Justanothercyster thanks I will look at that app, don't know what we'll get given, no baby shower or anything here

@bez91 oooo totally real 😊love that but I'm also like 😬on the exercise thing. I'm worried about my knee too

@Lexber DH asked the other day if I had a tissue in the car when he was driving, I looked around & was like "I've got a tampon?"

larrythelizard · 26/01/2022 15:57

Seconding @Minster2012 in that baby groups and leaving the house kept me sane on mat leave @paintfairy. DS probably didn't give a shit for most of it! We did NCT to buy some baby friends - some of them are really nice.

Oh dear @bez91's DH you better up your game! I should probably point out that I have AL to use up and so far have booked a day out for me and DS and about to book a spa day. Nothing useful and no jobs planned here!

If you're a bit worried would an in person prenatal class be better @bez91?

😂😂😂 love it @Lexber - I was tidying my bags earlier and also found a load of sanpro in the handbag I took on my last work outing when I had suspicions I was preggo but in denial

Wow that is a shambles and a half @Juno231, almost as if you'd dreamt up the letter! Did you get your bloods done?

Man @Vil10 that is drama! I found house buying/selling v stressful and basically made myself a giant pain in the arse for all professionals involved!

OP posts:
paintfairy · 26/01/2022 17:14

@bez91 see, you would assume we have time, wouldn't you? But we had some done beginning of November which we booked last summer! And that was a saga. We booked him in to do the next lot at that point (what I want doing now) and the earliest date he could do was may! We did book it. But- the job he did was a bloody mess and i don't want him back. The joiner said it was one of the worst jobs he's ever seen! The guy that did most of our other work i originally asked in Feb 2020 and I've been 'on his list' ever since. They are all just so busy. We have found another guy but trying to pin him down for a date is proving hard work. And if we have to start again with quotes etc I fully expect its going to start pushing back to June/July very easily. @Lexber are you sure you don't live near me? 🤣 Its only the hall/stairs left to do. I'll make him tea and everything! 🤭
@Juno231 I'll still do virtual things as I kind of need the info. 🤣 But I just figured I'll not meet anyone. I'm going to ask the midwife at my 16 week appointment what the crack is. I have found one place that does actual groups but it's not traditional and covers hypnobirthing etc. Might be worth going but could be full of crackpots. 🤣 As for your appointment that's ridiculous. Idiots. And I still have a bloody headache! So I can sympathise.
@Kate105 proper date noted. As are the dolphin noises. 🤣
@Minster2012 I think I'll need to get out, I agree. Just not with other people for smalltalk with screaming kids. 🤣 A walking group might work though.....
@larrythelizard I don't have an NCT near, annoyingly.
@Vil10 I'm not sure any solicitor doing house sales has ever done their job. I realised you can train just to do that (nothing more) fairly easily. And wondered if it was worth it. Being they earn loads for doing nothing. 🤣

I think I've got most people now for the list. I need to check. I still need @becarefuloutthere though, I know that.

paintfairy · 26/01/2022 17:22

@Haiyaa @clolo @SWAttempting @DKDK123 I think (hope) i just need yours as well, for due dates now? (And what you are having if you know).

bez91 · 26/01/2022 17:25

@Lexber Lilet 😂 just need a boys name now! Wow your work are super organised, I'm getting paranoid that I won't have a replacement! 🤦🏼‍♀️

@Kate105 maybe that's your calling a wine mum group 😂 @paintfairy know what you mean some baby groups I despised, so clique. Some of the exercise ones seem a little less that way out. Nursery is good though, my little girl met her best friend at nursery. Her friend has been left a year and we still make sure they see each other, helps that her mum is nice!

@Juno231 running pig 😂 so you actually wasn't seen by anyone at all? Wtaf

@larrythelizard he has set aside Friday to do everything. I'm the same have loads of leave to take so will do some painting although I prefer your spa day thoughts! Might have a look at some prenatal exercise classes. I did a good yoga one last time but they were all a bit too spiritual for me 😆 hence why on the lookout for YouTube recommendations

@paintfairy very frustrating, nothing happens quickly and it just adds extra stress when you want everything done in time for baby. We've just done after 3.5 years. On a few occasions when desperate we posted on MyBuilder, only people we chose to invite and work was always good. Just if you do don't have them back again because I found standards dropped after the first visit and receiving good feedback!

Juno231 · 26/01/2022 17:25

@paintfairy ah yeah when I mentioned my headache I felt bad as you must be having it worse than this and a lot more often! As for hypnobirthing - I think the name is more crackpot than it is in practice. Sounds a lot like just pain management to me! Then again I know a few ladies who used the positive birth company and absolutely loved it so I am planning on doing their course (I think I got it 70% off on a flash sale over a year ago 😅). Your plastering saga makes me worry about our renovations 😂

I think I'll sign up for my local bump and baby class after my scan next Friday :) £100 cheaper than NCT, more convenient locations for me and I've heard good things about the social aspect.

SWAttempting · 26/01/2022 17:25

Lexber · 26/01/2022 18:03

Hahahaha @Minster2012 they're meant to be good for nose bleeds 🤣

What a faff about @Juno231 not what you needed!!

@paintfairy with how moody he is you can have and keep him! He's a grumpy fecker at the minute as hasn't sept well last few nights, last 2 his blood sugars have dropped low so he has been awake eating and waking me up at the same time.. he Woke in the night moaning at me for snoring, when I was actually awake at the time and he had dreamt it - ffs knob!! 🤣🤣 so whoa is him. He's home from work tired. Me too pal!
I've been working all day (8-5.20) and we have auditors in so ridiculously busy, cleaned kitchen, made tea in my lunch break, emptied and reloaded dishwasher, put 3 loads of washing in and dried them all whilst growing 2 humans.. head is banging feels all sinus like and I feel wiped out and hungry! I swear they all think I just sit at home with my feet up on the sofa watching tv 🤷🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️

@bez91 minutes after my last message I received my letter by email/docusign.
I think they're worried a little as I've made it clear twins can be early and unpredictable plus I'm struggling already work wise as can't get comfy some days so it's as much to help me as it will be to protect them in case of an emergency- the fact I've been in hospital a couple of times worried them lol
Hmmmm he could be tampax? 🤣🤣🤣
I'm saving all my leave to take before/after my mat leave. So will have 33 days by 20th April so planning to take 2 weeks before (more if needed) and add the rest to the end next year and possibly add an extra week depending as that's 6week 3 days 👌🏼

DKDK123 · 26/01/2022 19:03

Will catch up in a few days, my Grans critically ill in hospital at the moment, doesnt look like shes got long left all they can do is make her comfortable now 😢
Just to quickly answer @paintfairy question, mine is EDD 26/5 but won't be allowed to go past 12/5 max so I'd just put the 2nd one down (even tho it's still likely to be earlier than that). And team girl 💓

becarefuloutthere · 26/01/2022 19:29

@2020mission ok thank you for sharing. It was that or the pessary as she said we put a hormone in you so I assume she means a pessary. Hopefully I don't get to that point anyway and the sweeps do their thing. I'd like to just wait it out and have it natural when she's ready but both consultants have said there's an increased risk of stillbirth, albeit small, with ivf pregnancies so I'm not willing to risk it and will take their advice!
@bez91 I'd only heard about it cos of MN tbf, doesn't sound the funnest 😬 they didn't offer gel so I guess for this hospital it's balloon or pessary. She just said you can go home with this option and the other you'd have to stay in.
@Minster2012 it's supposed to soften and open up the cervix so that they can break your waters...so defo not fun 😬 how'd you get on with the car seat browsing?
@Juno231 I didn't get a lot time to make a decision she just gave me two sheets and said you can go home with this one, you can't with this one. I'm seeing my MW tomorrow so will talk it through in more detail with her and hopefully change it if needs be, although I don't fancy a longer stay in hospital. This is all if the sweeps don't work...she may just come early on her own accord anyway, who knows 🤷🏾‍♀️ how did your appointments go? Oh just seen the update, what a shambles 🤦🏾‍♀️
@paintfairy hope the headaches eased now? My due date is 22.2.22 and it's a girl!
@larrythelizard thanks 😊 something to look forward to in a dreary January eh!
@Kate105 hope dentist went well! Did you have to stay in with the pessary? How long until it started working?
@Lexber here's the link about it www.buckshealthcare.nhs.uk/birthchoices/pifs/induction-of-labour-with-cervical-balloon-foleys-catheter/
I'm glad Dh had the early AM shift today!
@Vil10 we are veterans babes 😂
Ahh poor pooch, hope he'll be ok xx
@Justanothercyster she's turned a quarter so she's side on and nearly there! Heads low though so they think she might be engaged but they couldn't say for sure from the scan. Aww that sounds so lovely, I can't wait to watch them grow 🥰
Interesting on the balloon front, thanks for sharing 😘
@DKDK123 so sorry to hear about your gran 💐

blackcurrantqueen · 26/01/2022 19:34

@paintfairy ooh if we are doing babies then mine came along 17/1/22 💗! Xx

@DKDK123 sorry to hear about your gran, lots of positive thoughts your way xxx

Lexber · 26/01/2022 19:45

I'm So sorry to hear that @DKDK123 sending love to you at this difficult time. We are here if you needs us and need to talk xxxxx

Minster2012 · 26/01/2022 20:27

@Juno231 omg what????!!! That's ridiculous. Loving the running 🐖 analogy though but honestly sometimes. Is the bump & baby thing just a London thing?

@larrythelizard I've just booked a spa session too for time when DS & DH are around so I get done me time, that's for March tho. I'm trying to sort one out for feb with 2 friends, I'm trying to gently push one to get it booked as she's found out she's got stage 1 cervical cancer but she's trying to be dead strong & not talk to us much 😬I can't book it without getting dates though 😩

@paintfairy it's a nightmare trying to get ppl pinned down atm. Unfortunately there's a lot of same old same old crap talking to ppl at groups but you need to weed through those & find someone/ppl to connect with other than whinging about the colour of your child's 💩

@Vil10 I actually hate Conveyancing solicitors honestly think 99.9% are just useless & require chasing every day to even lift a finger to pen or keyboard.

@bez91 im gonna be interested to see the completed list after Friday 😊🤞🏻noting MyBuilder. Lilet loving it 😊😝

@Lexber I did tell him a tampon up each nostril would stop his nose running 😂your maternity /leave plan sounds good 👌🏻

@DKDK123 so sorry about your gran, sending love hugs & strength ❤️

@becarefuloutthere hmmmm doesn't sound like a fun kinda balloon but hopefully it's like @2020mission found 🤞🏻not decided on a car seat. Gave up looking for the day 😂

feliznavidad2 · 26/01/2022 20:55

Thirding or fourthing what everyone else said about baby groups @paintfairy - I needed them for me more than anything, just something to make break the day up and someone to whinge with about how tired I was other than OH

Sorry to hear your appointments were such a cock up today @Juno231 hahaha also loved the running pig reference

Don't think I'm gonna do a class as such this time, but planning to carry on yoga 🧘‍♀️

Really sorry to hear about your Gran @DKDK123 take care and be kind to yourself x

I need to submit my paperwork for work about maternity leave... which feels terrifying. Not going to formally confirm it until after 20 week scan, but they need some indication as so they can sort out mat cover.

Haiyaa · 26/01/2022 21:22

Sorry I’ve fallen behind again, had a flurry of appointments this week ready for section on 01/02, bricking it now. Steroids were awful as expected and I was a proper baby to the point that the MW wouldn’t let me leave and offered tea and biscuits! The. After first jab I was getting contractions and baby has dropped quite a bit so worried now about going into early labour which would be bad given my rupture risk. They put me on the monitor but baby wouldn’t behave so was in for ages after my second.

So @paintfairy, due 11/02 but will deliver on 01/02, team 💛

Like I said not really caught up but sorry to hear about your grandma @DKDK123, I hope she is comfortable and that you are taking care of yourself 😘

Nice to hear from you @blackcurrantqueen, how are you recovering? I meant to ask, when you weee on the ward what did you do about going to the loo? Taking baby for hip check etc? Last time DH took care of all that but he’ll be kicked off the ward from 6pm until 12pm, honestly it’s the part I’m dreading most about the whole thing as he was such a good support last time.

PUT THE HR MONITOR DOWN @Vil10! I’m sure everything is fine, there are lots of changes going on, increasing blood volume, hormonal changes etc you can’t rely on HR as viability indicator now, (and to be honest I thought it was a bit of a dark art even when TTC).

Will try to catch up!

Minster2012 · 26/01/2022 21:44

Next Tuesday booom @Haiyaa are you counting down days??

Just gonna put this here for bants...I have bought stuff for a non existent baby in the past. & bought too early then lost babies but def under 3 figures in total ....
