As I'm avoiding doing any of the useful stuff I should be doing I thought I'd just pop another sidecar up x

@minster2012 @dkdk123 @becarefuloutthere @vil10 good morning lovely ladies and for anyone else wondered how the family went! It was lovely 🥺 so basically we had my inlaws round and my mum and brother and everyone was just sat casually talking to each other then DH just stood in middle and said happy new year everyone hope 2022 is better for me and kayleigh as 2021s been wank for us, we’re also looking forward 2022 to celebrate Kayleigh’s pregnancy 🤣🤣🤣 just sprinkled it in there to see if anyone picked up on it and everyone’s jaws dropped because he knows I wouldn't have wanted him to say we've got an announcement or anything like that 🙈 mum started sobbing on me for about 10 mins saying she can’t believe it, it’s was an emotional evening! We’ve said though we won’t be telling other family like aunts ect because it’s so early and we just wanted close family support for if things don’t pan out 🥺❤️ sorry it’s took me a day to post this I was at work all yesterday and didn’t get off until late :’) happy new year lovely ladies to all the baby mamas, bumps, little beans and babies old and new ❤️🤰

kaylsd · 02/01/2022 09:39

@minster2021 Etta is such a cute unusual name! Is it a contender for you guys do you think? I’m loving all these potential psychic little ones on MN that are potentially predicting their siblings names 😬
@vil10 that offer sounds amazing girl it’ll be so nice for your mum to come this time too and it’ll breach the gap between the 12 week scan, cannot believe your 9 weeks already now :o how times flown!!! Absolutely howling at the pigeons thing, they are awful they’ve all got minging feet where it looks like it’s been tangled in a machine or hanging off 😖
@lexber I hope you feel better soon hunny keep drinking plenty and resting and taking paracetamol ❤️
@sunbird24 good luck with your up coming scan hunny! How are you feeling symptom wise has everything been okay! I’m sure your little bub is nice and snuggly in there for you 😘❤️
@larrythelizard I know how exactly your feeling with the friend finding it hard with the TTC, my friends experiencing secondary infertility and I find it hard to keep quiet about things when I know how much difficulties she’s having especially the system of support as she already has a son, just be an amazing friend back which I’m sure you are doing a lovely job 😘😘😘
@becarefuloutthere I hope you feel better soon hunny rest up the best you can
@crazydoglady123 happy new year lovely ❤️

Todays going to consist of making a effort to do my hair today (currently went to bed with wet hair and actually woke up like Tina turner) dog walking & Sunday lunch out with DH, have the best day ladies hope everyone’s well 😘

DKDK123 · 02/01/2022 10:48

@Minster2012 how random just coming out with Etta given its not a commonly heard name. If DS tried to choose names later in the pregnancy he wouldn't have got a say (unless it was on our list) but given he was the only one so sure Emily was here to stay even when DH and I doubted it and called her that daily from 4.5 weeks on we all got used to the name and it would seem so weird hearing her called anything else now. May have been a different matter if he'd started calling her something obscure! 😂 And yes we've already had the opinion of others on the name front but I just brush it off told them it's our choice and tough shit basically......a bit like the reply that will be given when they have a say in how we parent, I remember it well from when DS was a baby, everyone and their aunty having having opinion do this, dont do that, dress him this way, don't dress him that way, feed him this not that, in my day......🙄 I was a bit more polite being a new mum last time but ready to tell people where to go straight up this time round!

@Vil10 what an amazing deal on the scan! And how lovely your mum can go to it too, best take tissues I'm sure she'll be in tears!

@lexber hope you (and the rest of the family) rest up and feel better soon.

@paintfairy I'm not really sure on why they can cause mc in 1st trimester, only going with what the consultant said and I did notice the massage place had a bit up saying they wouldn't do a pregnancy massage until 2nd trimester. The only thing I could think of is maybe it could divert blood flow away from the womb if they're doing certain parts 🤷‍♀️ but Im also thinking it's probably more likely that as most mc occur in the 1st trimester it's maybe less of a relationship between massage and mc and more they don't want the blame for it. 🤔 She did say 2nd trimester onwards it was to do with certain trigger points so I don't think I'd go to a professional masseuse unless they were trained in pregnancy massage. I've still let DH give me a few tho as I figure he won't do it to the same length or intensity as a professional so doubt he'd be able to stimulate any trigger points too much. Also made a wee square of pillows around my belly with my belly settled in the hole in the middle so it was a bit more raised and not squashed and we just kept the massage to 10-15mins. Way too big and uncomfy to lie on my front even supported like that anymore tho so can only see sitting up neck massages on the cards for the foreseeable future unless I go for a professional one.

@kaylsd how lovely that your news went down so well with the family, what a great start to their year 🥰

Kate105 · 02/01/2022 12:04

Hello! Happy new year! Just saying hi, will catch up later but struggling to keep up with all the craic while we've got family round etc 😊 TSD is being his usual ratty self and really fucked off my H this morning by sticking his hands into his mouth and making himself sick... don't think he's the sharpest tool in the shed 😂

DKDK123 · 02/01/2022 12:09

I was doing a bit of tidying, nothing manic just carrying things from room to room, hovering etc but felt so out of breath after only 20mins, was sweating and felt like I'd actually done a workout at the gym. Looked at my fitbit and my HR had jumped up to 140 just from light housework 🙈 Now if you increase your HR at the gym it's a good thing, means you're working harder burning calories, if your HR increases from doing very little in pregnancy, I wonder if it still burns more calories or if its just a hormonal induced exhaustion? 🤔

paintfairy · 02/01/2022 12:14

@Crazydoglady123 happy new year! I'm glad your little one is holding out a bit. She doesn't want a Christmas birthday! 🤣
@becarefuloutthere sorry you aren't feeling well.
@kaylsd awww, that's lovely. I'm so pleased for you.
@DKDK123 I was worried we'd damaged mine. 🤣 But lying on your front is probably OK if you don't have a bump. After that, clearly not. I know massage can seems toxins around your body, so maybe it's that? I very much suspect professional people just wouldn't want the responsibility in the first trimester, just in case. After all- if something goes wrong you'll be quick to blame anything, and actually it was likely none of that stuff. I keep worrying I'm lifting too much horse wise and I've backed off and I'm now getting help.
@Minster2012 is there an Etta at DS's nursery? Failing that, you've got a ghost..... 🤭 And you have a good memory!

Yes I went for my private scan today. I read on NYE our hospitals are clamping down on non essential appointments and visits etc for a few weeks. No idea what that means for me yet. But at least having the private one puts your mind at rest for a bit. Plus - you don't get videos with the nhs! Everything was fine. We have a lazy baby (let's hope it stays that way! 🤣) and at first i was like- why is it not moving? Even though she had already showed us the heartbeat. So she got me to wiggle and then it woke up. Didn't look that impressed to be fair. 🤭 I'm 10+6 today and measuring 11+1, so still 2 days ahead, which is consistent with my last scan. The whole thing was very bizarre and I still can't believe it was in me! I'm pleased we went though, and the lady was nice. I've put the videos on Instagram.

DKDK123 · 02/01/2022 12:19

Lovely scan pic @paintfairy, great start to your year knowing all is still going well and on track 🥰

kaylsd · 02/01/2022 13:17

@paintfairy what a lovely little bubba scan pic 🥺❤️ great news to hear that it's still consistent with the other scans too, gives you peace of mind that everything's still growing okay :')

Went into aldi for some milk as Asda sold out.. ended up with a new dog bed, leaf blower, and zerosecco 🤣🤣🤣 happens every single time I go in there 👀 god damn that random isle

kaylsd · 02/01/2022 13:18

@DKDK123 it's a nice thought that you'll be burning calories with a HR like that 🤞🏻 means maybe more guilt free goodies? 😋

feliznavidad2 · 02/01/2022 14:01

Ahhh look @paintfairy ! So lovely x

Negative PCR here so goodness knows what's up with me. How are you @Lexber ?

paintfairy · 02/01/2022 14:31

@kaylsd 🤣 DH usually goes to aldi and never looks on those aisles.
@DKDK123 probably how i lost weight without trying! 🤣 Although I did look and my fitbit didn't claim i was burning off any more calories than normal.
@feliznavidad2 I know people who felt rough for over a week before any test showed it? Pain though!

Vil10 · 02/01/2022 14:49

@paintfairy Hahahah bloody pigeons!! Ooo 3, are you planning on finding out the gender? And if so do you have a preference? Aww look at thst scan pic!! Lovely and so glad all is looking well and you have the reassurance you wanted whilst waiting for your 12 week!!

@Sunbird24 I'm the same, we won't be telling anyone our names, it's a nice surprise then and nobody can pass judgement!

@Minster2012 match naked😂😂😂 bloody pigeons and matching naked, what is going on with us😂

@kaylsd so so sweet!! So glad it went well!! Have you heard anything about when your booking in app will be? My mum will definitely be emotional and she's on holiday when I think I'll be having my 12 week scan so I wanted her to come to this scan as I won't be able to go and show her after my 12 week! It'll definitely break up the gap!! Have a lovely Sunday, sounds perfect!

@DKDK123 it really is a good deal, I was shocked!! You'll deffo be burning cals with that HR, I always set my Fitbit to workout when cleaning because im like a mad lady flying round like it's a race or something😂

@feliznavidad2 glad the pcr was negative!!

Well I've been saying for the last few days other than sore nipples and mild other things I've felt fine, went to bed last night feeling really nauseous, woke up feeling the same and was retching and been retching all day but still not been sick, everything absolutely stinks of disgusting shite, the hand soap, I've had to bin because I can't stand the smell, I have to open the fridge and step away because the fridge smell makes me retch!! Was supposed to do the food shop today and pack some more things, so far I've got dressed and done a lateral flow before I go back to work on Tuesday (yep you guessed it, I retched doing that) and now I plan on watching the last few episodes of Emily in Paris!!

paintfairy · 02/01/2022 14:59

@Vil10 no, we won't find out the gender. Although mum then said- how is she meant to know what colour to knit in? 🤣
I was the same but it's calmed down now a bit? I never wretched but I burp a lot and last night actually tasted sick. 🤢 But mostly in better than I was and less awkward. The smell thing isn't as bad either. There was a point I couldn't stand the smell of my dog! 🤣 Then DH. I told him he smelled of cat wee. The struggle is real. 🤭

Names- we've not thought of anything and haven't had any serious discussions. Not sure when we will but I can see it being a very long task. Made worse by the fact we'll have to pick out both boys and girls names. But I won't tell anyone our thoughts either. Who needs other people's opinions! You just don't. 🤣 But at least it doesn't look like a 🐸 now, so Freddo is out! 🤣🤣

bez91 · 02/01/2022 15:59

Just popping on to say yayyy to the scan @paintfairy lovely to see the heartbeat flickering away isn't it, little freddo 🥰

Also waiting PCR result, feeling rough 🤦🏼‍♀️

becarefuloutthere · 02/01/2022 16:47

@Minster2012 thanks lovely 😊 been a very chilling day today. How are you?
@kaylsd that's lovely, I'm glad it went well and everyone reacted well. Working on a bank hol, that's a bit rubbish. Hope you get time to relax soon.
@paintfairy yay the scan pic, looks so good!! 🥰 I need to have a nose over on insta...
@Vil10 welcome to pregnancy with things making you wretch! Enjoy Emily in Paris, I finished it yesterday. Two day binge, loved it!
@bez91 hope you feel better soon!

So my pcr was negative, Dh was positive 🤦🏾‍♀️ we'd spent all morning laid next to each other (his text came in at midday, mine at 11am) but we've been apart since and I've moved my things into the spare room which has an en-suite thankfully but I'm thinking it'll get me eventually 🙈 he feels really rough, I still have a sore throat and stiff neck but don't feel as bad I did yesterday so hopefully I swerve it, who knows! I hope everyone is staying safe and well xx

larrythelizard · 02/01/2022 16:51

Aww that's lovely @kaylsd

If I'm honest im hoping for super calorie burn @DKDK123 but I suspect it's related to all the extra blood in your system so doubt that's the case!

Love the video and the pics @paintfairy - mad to think it's just hanging out in side you! I can't remember, are you going to find out the sex? Ah I read on, exciting, another team yellow. At least you know it isn't a frog now

Just a bog standard bug then @feliznavidad2, how old fashioned!

Oh no @Vil10 hopefully just a day of it so going back to work won't be so bad.

Oh dear @bez91 that's no good, you also know that whatever happens, your DH will be more ill though right?!

I've felt a bit better the last couple of days - not sure if it's because we've had stuff on so good distraction, or that I'm managing it better or if it is subsiding - and then obv I worry a bit about the latter. Such a headfuck!

DH is very whingy this afternoon as I made us drive 2h each way for a 2h birthday party for one of my best friends kids. I told him
It's tough, you show up for your friends!

OP posts:
Vil10 · 02/01/2022 17:08

@paintfairy hahaha tell her white or natural colours, we're team yellow too!! Eww I hate when you get the sick taste!! Glad you've started to feel better!! But also very weird you say that, I said to OH this morning the dog stinks of cat wee, I just presumed it had been from rolling around on his walk, then I kept saying the bedroom stunk of it too, I was going round on my hands and knees smelling the carpet, the bed, curtains everything, OH said he couldn't smell anything?? It's such a hard decision for names isn't it when you think about it, hopefully when you do start talking about it it won't be that long of a discussion🤞🏼

@bez91 hope you start to feel better soon!!

@becarefuloutthere I just retched whilst in the shower?? There wasn't even any smells😂 it's such a classic girly series isnt it!! Ahhh hopefully you don't catch it, my dad has been around both my sister and my mum when they had it and he still hasn't had it, so 🤞🏼 it's the same with you!!

@larrythelizard if I do feel rough, hiding it at work will be difficult for the 2 weeks but at least it is only 2 weeks, I only had to hide it for 3 weeks before Christmas too and then I didn't feel ill so it was easy! It really is a headfuck but try not to worry, my symptoms have been so up and down, the day before and morning of my scan I couldn't have felt less pregnant, it must be our bodies being fuck boys!

bez91 · 02/01/2022 17:20

@becarefuloutthere argggh! To you too, hope you feel better soon!

@larrythelizard naturally, how did you know DH thinks he has it worse? 🙄 he's actually got reasoning... his LFT line is a dye stealer, mine is very faint so of course that quantifies how ill you're feeling - d*ck!

Might just be your heightened sense of smell @Vil10 if no one else can smell it 😆 the retching is no fun, I certainly don't miss the nausea! Hopefully it does one soon!

Vil10 · 02/01/2022 17:21

Found an extra bag in the cupboard from last week😍

Happy new year ladies!!!! Hope everyone is well. Sorry been sooooo busy with Alice keeping us on our toes! @2020mission big congrats on your new arrival and @clolo congrats on the little girlie! @paintfairy loved the scan pic.

Sunbird24 · 02/01/2022 17:35

@paintfairy your scan pic is so cute!

I’m not normally one for woo, but I occasionally get sent through these tarot readings. If I can’t think positive for Thursday with this one, when could I?

I’m not having nausea, but I’ve really lost my appetite quite badly the last few days and am feeling really full up after even a glass of juice so having to be really picky about what I do try to get in.

@DKDK123 www.google.com/amp/s/nypost.com/2019/06/11/pregnant-women-are-basically-endurance-athletes-study/amp/ so I vote it counts as a workout!

@paintfairy gosh what about any other colours of the rainbow mum?? So many lovely greens, purples, not to mention yellow and red are surely unisex even for the older generations??

Boo to all the covid news on here - I hope you all either won't catch it from your OHs or that you'll recover quickly!

Happy new year's otherwise - just got home today from our weekend away with friends. I'm so not ready for work to start on Tuesday 😭. The only thing distracting me is knowing I've got a scan on Tuesday - can't believe I'm 8 weeks tomorrow!

Best of luck on all the other scans coming up as well - and paintfairy I'm so pleased yours went so well! I bet you're so relieved.

paintfairy · 02/01/2022 18:57

@becarefuloutthere rubbish about OHs positive test!
@larrythelizard my symptoms came and went and now they seem much less than before. I think that's normal.
@Vil10 🤣🤣🤣 on the cat wee.
@bez91 the cheek! Men.
@Kirky658 I hope things are beginning to get easier for you now?
@Sunbird24 yep, I'd take that! I used to have things like that sent years ago actually.
@Juno231 I said Green to DH and he pulled a face. 🤣 I'm not a red fan. Couldn't decide if purple would work or not? The right shade might. I am very relieved! Seems much more real now. I can now go on to stress about my genetic tests being normal. 🤦‍♀️🤣

Exciting week this week coming up for scans! 🤞🤞🤞

larrythelizard · 02/01/2022 19:10

I agree @Juno231 we didn't know what sex DS was so only bought unisex stuff and there's some really good bright coloured stuff out there. I'm not one for whites/greys/beiges really (obv when it comes to a baby's wardrobe, mine is largely black with flashes of grey!

Ooh scan not far away @Juno231 that's exciting.

Oh yes @Sunbird24 that's definitely positive 🤞🏼

Bright yellow is always good @paintfairy actually most of the bright colours rather than pastels.

Jealous of the crisps @Vil10 - we just had burger and chips delivered as we've not long got in. Ordered one chips to share and bloody DS also wanted in, if I'd known we were sharing between 3 I'd have ordered 2...chips help the nausea apparently - a dangerous discovery!

OP posts:
Juno231 · 02/01/2022 19:15

@larrythelizard ha I'm kinda the opposite where I prefer the pastel versions over the strong colours. I find eg a pastelly purple/lilac would work easily for both sexes whereas a strong purple might be considered more boyish? Likewise with a soft sage green vs bright green? That's just me though!

@Sunbird24 that reading sounds good - I've got everything crossed for you 🤞
