Thought I'd make a thread for those of us who have been through treatment or faced infertility and are finally pregnant.

I have just got my BFP following frozen embryo transfer! It is still very early early days but I've had my beta today at 11dp5dt which was 474 so very pleased.

It's now the anxious wait to the 7 week scan at the end of the month!

@mrsla88 I'm worried I'll still be wondering if it's real up until the point baby is in my arms.

That's such good news about your scan. Glad everything went well.

Lori23TTC · 22/01/2022 15:35

Just checking in.. I had a private scan at 10 weeks and baby is all good, wriggling around a lot and amazed at how much of a baby it looks like now compared to previous scans! My 12 week scan is booked for the 2nd feb ❤️ Glad to hear lots of lovely scans everyone is having. I am also still suffering with the sickness all day! X

theotherfossilsister · 22/01/2022 16:48

@MrsLA88 and others who have had good scans, so amazing to see your good news. I know what you mean about it not feeling real. I cannot believe we are having this baby and feel like such an imposter.

Have my private scan booked for Thursday and terrified. Will be 10w1d if all is well. They looked perfect at eight weeks, but I can't stop worrying. Feeling really sick today which is reassuring though. Drinking coconut water kefir on the sofa and doing very little.

Out of Covid prison tomorrow.

theotherfossilsister · 22/01/2022 16:54

thank you @Shroedy - spoke to another far nicer midwife who said I have done all I can and that's great, and was really kind. She might be prescribing blood thinners at some point because of my antibodies, and the Covid and the assisted conception. You're almost one week ahead of me! ET was December sixth.

Got a letter discharging me from the IVF clinic today, and was like, that can't be right, Oh no, what if it jinxes it.

thank you @Chrischross. amazing you had a midwife who'd been through IVF, Did that make all the difference? Congratulations on twelve weeks, that must feel so strange,

thank you @Novavee and glad you had an amazing scan with a wriggly baby.

Chrischross · 24/01/2022 20:08

Happy Monday everyone! Sorry been MIA, been planning my loft conversion to stay busy (mad woman that I am)!

@MrsLA88 THIS IS SUCH AMAZING NEWS! I’m so happy for you. It’s real, I reckon it will get more real when you can feel the baby kicking.

@theotherfossilsister glad you spoke to a nicer midwife. Having an understanding midwife makes all the difference. Good luck with your scan tomorrow. Keep us posted.

ToCaden · 26/01/2022 11:43

I'm 11 weeks today. Only one more week until 12 week scan.

Nausea still acting up here, but hoping it'll stop soon. Woke up exhausted today. Not so much tired, but feel like I've run a marathon and want to lie down and drift. Also feeling all cotton headed? Keep forgetting what I'm doing and losing time staring off into space.

@theotherfossilsister good luck for your scan tomorrow. Please keep us updated.

Any more scans this week? Did I miss anyone? Think we've got a fair few scans next week which is exciting.

Chrischross · 27/01/2022 12:33

Congrats on being 11 weeks. You will love your 12 week scan. Baby will likely be moving around. It’s so cute.

Cakecakecheese · 27/01/2022 13:20

I'm 11 weeks but my scan isn't until 13 weeks which I know doesn't seem like a lot but it feels like it's taking forever!

Shroedy · 27/01/2022 13:45

First NHS scan today along with booking. They did try and make it my 12 week but it was actually too early to get everything they needed so got plenty of time with baby (there was a trainee doctor there so she scanned me again) and rebooked for another scan end of next week when I'll be 12+1.

Photos attached - one a classic and the other my husband's fave of the baby mooning us (bum and legs!). It was a lovely experience and I get to do it again next week.

Booking appointment was fine but midwife was a little process driven and I'm quite medically complicated so was a little frustrating - we've been referred to a bunch of people to provide oversight and input though so that's the main thing!

Hi ladies, I’m 11.5 weeks today. Finishing my oestrogen tablets this weekend and then my progesterone pessaries & injections next weekend. I’ve had a lot of bleeding/spotting since 5 weeks and they identified a haematoma (luckily totally separate from baby) so have had a few scans to keep an eye on it. We had our most recent scan at the weekend and baby was kicking away, it was just magic. Got my nhs scan at 13 weeks.

I can totally relate to the anxiety you’re all feeling. I keep thinking I’ll feel better once I’ve had my nhs scan but I’m sure I’ll find something else to worry about at that point!

Have you ladies been put under consultant or midwife led care? I was told I’d be consultant as all ivf babies in my local area are consultant led xx

Cakecakecheese · 27/01/2022 19:43

@teaandcrumpets1 my midwife said I'd be referred to a consultant yes.

Shroedy · 27/01/2022 23:11

From what I understand you will get reviewed by a consultant if you're an IVF pregnancy but usually, absent any concerns or other medical issues, you usually get "signed off" and midwife led for the rest of your pregnancy.

Chrischross · 28/01/2022 18:15

@Shroedy loving the scan photos. Baby already has a personality 😂

@TeaAndCrumpets1 I was midwife led with my first but have been told I’ll be consultant led this time. I am using a different hospital and did have complications during labour so this could be the reason.

ToCaden · 28/01/2022 18:26

@shroedy glad your scan went well and baby moving around and active.

@teaandcrumpets1 I've been referred to a consultant and midwife said it was automatic when it's an ivf pregnancy.

Lori23TTC · 28/01/2022 19:49

@Shroedy aww lovely scan pics ❤️
Has everyone been referred a consultant? I haven’t been offered that, just my midwife and she said the fact my baby is an IVF baby makes no difference? Or am I being fobbed off? I’m also really scared to stop my progesterone and progonova next week 😬 x

ToCaden · 29/01/2022 10:00

@lori23TTC it's an automatic referral in my area, and appears a lot of other areas, but maybe your area is an exception? To be honest in most cases the consultant will look at your paperwork and refer you back to midwife only, unless they see something in health history that suggests you need increased monitoring.

12 week scan next week! Both nervous and excited. I'm sure I'll change my mind afterwards but right now feels as if everything's OK at 12 weeks I can breathe easier.

Lori23TTC · 29/01/2022 12:10

@ToCaden thank you I think I will mention it at my 12 week scan.
I know I feel nervous and excited too! I had a private scan at 10 weeks so that was a massive reassurance but I’m still counting down until my 12 weeks next week 🤣 getting to 12 weeks is a great milestone 🙌 x

ToCaden · 31/01/2022 12:00

Stuck behind a desk trying to work while being all amped up about scan is not a great combination. I feel like I'm full of more energy than I've had in last two weeks combined.

Good luck to those of you who have their dating scans tomorrow!

Chrischross · 01/02/2022 20:43

@ToCaden good luck with your scan this week.

ToCaden · 02/02/2022 09:05

Good luck for your scan today @lori23TTC

ToCaden · 02/02/2022 21:35

Scan went great. Baby was wiggling all over the place and flailing arms and legs. All looking healthy so far.

Lori23TTC · 04/02/2022 11:53

@ToCaden thank you! I’m so glad your scan went well that’s brilliant news! My scan was good too baby wiggling around and had legs fully stretched out 🤣 I’m still feeling so sick/tired but hope it will ease off now I’m past the 12 week mark! Good luck everyone else having scans ❤️ X

ToCaden · 06/02/2022 12:35

Sickness might be dying down. I thought I was getting energy back, but the last two days have been dire for exhaustion. Went on a trek (20 min walk to pharmacy) to get my flu jab today and straight to bed as soon as got back. So many needles in last several months. I started off being pretty sensitive to them, and now it's just meh.

@lori23TTC here's to hoping we get a wonderful energy filled second trimester.

Lori23TTC · 07/02/2022 19:19

@ToCaden I’m feeling the same, this week I’ve been so tired and have no energy to do anything - I was also not a fan of needles but had so many over the past 6 months I’m fine with them now too.
Yep I am also hoping we have a wonderful ‘pregnancy glow’ in our second trimester ❤️ Still with feeling so crap I am enjoying every second of it ❤️ X

Shroedy · 05/03/2022 10:00

Hi all - just thought I'd resurrect the thread and check in on you all?

I'm 16 weeks now and feeling pretty decent, other than still pretty exhausted. I'm not going to pretend I'm totally laid back now but I'm much more relaxed than I was, having got to this point! Far more people know now, both friends and colleagues, which I think makes it all a bit more real. Looking forward to that 20 week scan in a few weeks' time. I have my 16 week midwife appointment on Monday ;by phone) but from what I understand it's mainly just a bit of a check in. Who has had theirs?
