Thought I'd make a thread for those of us who have been through treatment or faced infertility and are finally pregnant.

I have just got my BFP following frozen embryo transfer! It is still very early early days but I've had my beta today at 11dp5dt which was 474 so very pleased.

It's now the anxious wait to the 7 week scan at the end of the month!

Ahh @dogmam so pleased to see you on here - hope you have a lovely sticky bean and all goes well for your scan 🥰

Novavee · 06/12/2021 22:41

@dogmam Massive congratulations! I am so so happy for you. I will tentatively join you. I am 5w+1 today after my FET on 19th November. The online calculators put my due date as 7th August.
Viability scan booked for the 14th when I'll be 6w+2.
Do you know when your scan will be?

cakecakecheese · 07/12/2021 07:29

Hello!

It was my test day today and to my complete amazement it was positive.

I'm not hanging out the bunting just yet as I've previously had an MMC and a chemical so the getting pregnant part isn't the tough bit really, it's what happens next.

dogmam · 07/12/2021 14:04

@ls2020 Aw thank you so much! It took long enough haha but hopfully this is it! How are you doing?!

@Novavee aw hey! So pleased to hear it's worked for you too! How are you feeling? My FET was on 25th so still very early days for me, I'm only 12 dp5dt. My scans not until 29th Dec and I'll be 7+4 so ages to wait yet.

@cakecakecheese huge congratulations. I know how you're feeling, it's difficult to find a balance between being positive/happy and cautious at the same time. Will your clinic do bloods for you?

I'm so happy for us all Grin

@dogmam I really hope so for you ❤️ How are you feeling? I’m really good thank you - 18 weeks now, it’s dragged and flown by! Nice now sickness has ended and I have a cute bump so trying to enjoy this bit of pregnancy as aches are settling in!

@Novavee ahhh congratulations too! So glad both your FETs have worked ❤️ Hope all goes well on your scan, such a lovely feeling when they discharge you out!

TeaAndCrumpets1 · 07/12/2021 19:54

Hello ladies, I’m also very nervously putting a foot in here! I’m 12DP5DT after our first FET (our fresh cycle ended in me bleeding at 8DP5DT). We tested early on Sunday and got our BFP, and today was OTD. I also tested positive for Covid during the 2WW ☹️ I’m double jabbed and totally asymptomatic so clinic didn’t seem too worried this morning. My clinic make you wait a week after testing for bloods - so it’ll be an anxious wait!

Lovely to meet you all xx

Novavee · 07/12/2021 21:21

@dogmam I still can't believe it worked! After being so disappointed with the freeze all, I now bow to the wisdom of my consultant who made me wait another cycle. Totally worth it.
I'm counting the days to the scan. I think it will only feel real with proper medical confirmation. I didn't have bloods so I've become a serial tester instead 🙈

We're not that far apart, a little less than a week. Great result with your bloods, will you have a second test or does your clinic just do the one?

@cakecakecheese congratulations on your BFP. Sorry to read about your MMC and chemical. I hope this is the one for you. How many days past transfer are you?

Novavee · 07/12/2021 21:29

Oops the page hadn't updated.

@LS2020 oh thanks, lovely. 18 weeks already! Time has flown by! Do you know/will find out what you're having?

@TeaAndCrumpets1 welcome and congratulations! Seems a bit cruel making you wait a full week, but then again this whole process is a waiting game, isn't it? Good luck with your test.

cakecakecheese · 07/12/2021 21:32

My clinic don't do bloods no. I have to do another HPT next week then if that's positive they'll book me in for a scan.

I'm 10dp5dt. I do wish my test date was later tbh although I had a pretty strong line this time. I did have 2 embryos transferred so maybe that's why it's strong.

dogmam · 09/12/2021 11:28

@LS2020 ah wow 18 weeks, how Did that happen?! Aw pleased a cute little bump is making an appearance, I can't wait for that!

@Novavee I know! I remember feeling disappointed at first with the freeze all but deffinetly for the best in hindsight. Yeah I've been testing a lot too. When do you stop?! I think I'll do another clear blue digital early next week to hopfully see 3+. No more bloods for me, it was only because I had a bit of spotting 9dpt that they done them. How are you feeling? I had crampy feelings towards the end of my tww but I've felt nothing since. Not particularly tired or don't feel less or more hungry. The wait to the scan is going be long!!

@TeaAndCrumpets1 congratulations! Think it's very early days for us all here. That's tough having to wait a week for your bloods. are you still testing like a crazy person? It seems we have all had success from FETS.

@cakecakecheese hope you're ok and feeling positive.

What medication is everyone on?

OP posts:
cakecakecheese · 09/12/2021 12:29

I'm on Cyclogest, Metformin, Aspirin and Clexane.

Novavee · 09/12/2021 22:40

@dogmam i did my last frer at 17dp5dt. I got a dye stealer that morning. I had 2 clearblue still in the sealed box and I was planning on testing this week but then I read on another thread about the tests showing 1-2 weeks when they should be more and the unnecessary anxiety it caused when everything was fine in the end that I just decided to spare myself another source of stress and return them.

I had extreme hunger a few days after my bfp and i was so tired i was falling asleep on the train but it seems to have stopped. I do have sore breasts and I have also been feeling cramps these last couple of days but they are different from the stretching/pulling/stingy feeling I had during the tww. Hoping these are good cramps caused by things growing and needing space.

I am only on cyclogest twice a day. I had a natural fet with a trigger shot to time the transfer. What about you?

TeaAndCrumpets1 · 10/12/2021 06:30

@Novavee thank you lovely 😘 as you say, a weeks wait to get bloods feels like the longest time! I need to stop googling everything that can go wrong during these first few weeks…I’ve also had no symptoms except some cramping in the last 24 hours (like you, hoping that’s things ‘rearranging’ themselves!) and my boobs feel very swollen.

@dogmam thank you 🥰 I’ve resisted doing any more tests the last couple of days. I’ve got a second Clearblue dating test that I might use at the weekend, although as Novavee says, I think it might stress me out more if the dating is a bit off! I’m on oestrogen x 3, lubion x 1 and cyclogest x 2. I bled at 8dp5dt last time, so I think adding the lubion this time has made all the difference!

LS2020 · 11/12/2021 07:42

@Novavee I know it feels like it drags on though! Second trimester is better than first 😂 no we’re happy with whichever so going to leave with a surprise. I think we’d find out for future kids though.
I liked the digitals as gave me a weekly countdown to scan but agree if you look at range they detect I think they can give a scare when they don’t need to. Other part if after 6 weeks you get a hook effect which people don’t realise and panic so wouldn’t take after 6 week mark.

@dogmam hopefully the Christmas period will make things feel like they’re quickly moving for your scan 🤞🏻

Little scared to post on here in case I jinx it, but just got my bfp through ivf yesterday. (Yesterday was test day). Booked in for a viability scan 30th December, so trying not to be too hopeful before then.

Didn't really want to tell my brother before viability scan, but as he'd be the only one not to know when we meet for Xmas (mum and sister have been involved in the process so they know) think I'll need to tell him before we meet up. Just debating whether to do it now, or wait until a little closer to Xmas.

Anyway nice to meet you all. Was browsing for something else early pregnancy related and spotted this thread. Didn't think I'd see something so related to my circumstances. Both ivf and if all goes well due August 2022.

Shroedy · 11/12/2021 10:46

I'll join in too! Got my first ever BFP 7dp5dt, I'm now 11dp5dt and due for a beta on Monday (my OTD is today but I had my IVF abroad and frustratingly their London clinic isn't open on weekends!). Will be good to have that reassurance and then I can start worrying about the early scan Wink - honestly, I thought I might relax after the BFP but I'm not sure that's the case!

Shroedy · 11/12/2021 10:48

It's a minefield, isn't it? I'm going to tell my parents once I have my beta results as my mum was with me through the transfer as my husband was away. Which means we'll tell my MIL as well. OH will want to tell his siblings earlier than I will want to tell mine but don't really want to tell one side and not the other...
ToCaden · 11/12/2021 15:47

Good point. And agree about the thinking you'll worry less after the bfp. I thought that would be the case with me, but now worrying about the viability scan, then I expect I'll be worrying up to the second trimester, then there'll be something else. Best thing is to try to focus on other things. Though I've been even more exhausted than usual last couple days (and after ivf meds that's saying something) which isn't helping. Do have a list of DIY though some consists of painting which I'm wary of right now, and some involves stripping old lead paint which I'm very wary of right now.

dogmam · 11/12/2021 16:49

@ToCaden hello and massive congrats! It's such a crazy time isn't it?! How are you feeling? Yeah it's difficult about when and who to tell isn't it bit can understand your want to let you brother know. We've not told any family about ivf so are waiting until our scan then will surprise them with our news.
I was just reading up yestersay on painting as I'm wanting to do some decorating, I think the general advice is that it's safe if it's water based paint, which I think most is, but to wait until after 12 weeks. The old lead paint may be harsher as lots of chemicals so maybe be careful with that one.

@Shroedy ah congrats to you! Aren't we lucky getting this Christmas present! How did you find ivf abroad? Did you try it here first or just go straight there for it? I bet you can't wait for your bloods on Monday, hopfully you have a morning appointment so you can get the results the same day.

I'm 5 weeks exactly today so feel like it's a little milestone!

ToCaden · 11/12/2021 17:50

@dogmam happy five weeks. I'm four days behind you. Thanks for the advice re. Painting. Helps me decide what to do.

Feeling very excited and hopeful, but like I've been given a great gift that might be snatched away. This is my first bfp so it's wonderful to get this far. Also very tired and a bit under the weather which may be the progesterone or early pregnancy unless I'm coming down with something.

That's exciting that you get to do a pregnancy announcement. Are you going to going to sit them down and tell them, or do a big surprise reveal?

Shroedy · 11/12/2021 19:37

@dogmam I totally agree. I think when we're a little further along and the cat's out of the bag generally then hopefully it will become a bit more normalised - at this point it's not as if I actually feel or look pregnant, so it all seems pretty unreal! Maybe even being able to see something on a viability scan will help too!

We did three rounds of stim and transferred our one blastocyst from that here in the UK. Unfortunately it didn't take and so we moved on to donor eggs. After almost 18 months of struggling to find and then being repeatedly let down by donor options here, abroad it was (Spain). Honestly, it was actually really easy and, although organising when you know you're going to have to go abroad is a little stressful, they were great. One initial visit for tests and freezing a sample and then I was back about three weeks later for transfer.

MrsLA88 · 12/12/2021 06:51

Hi everyone, I recognise some of your names from an IVF thread, I'm so excited I also got my BFP after an FET! My transfer was on our wedding anniversary 30/11, and were due 18/08. Our viability scan is NYE which feels like an eternity!

I'm also terrified as my fresh transfer ended in a chemical pregnancy.

After the misscarriage this cycle I was on progesterone injections 1x and pessaries 3x a day, but when I called my clinic yesterday she just said to stop the pessaries when I run out? I explained I was on more due to the bleeding last time, but she said it's not needed and to just call if there are issues.

Has anyone else just come off progesterone? x

ToCaden · 12/12/2021 07:54

@mrsla88 I have. It's very worrying as whenever I've looked at Google most clinics seem to carry on until eight weeks or even later. It was difficult to find the few who stopped after they ran out after bfp, but most of them seemed OK. I have some progesterone cream so been using a little a couple times a day more to ease my anxiety at stopping cold turkey than anything.

From when I looked your placenta doesn't take over progesterone until around seven weeks, but in theory your corpus leteum (spelling) should cover you until then.

There are a couple of papers out there saying progesterone supplementation doesn't affect much so isn't needed, but when it's you it's difficult not to worry.

I think I'm a day ahead of you. Transfer 29th Nov, scan on 30th December, and if all goes well due on 17th August 22.

MrsLA88 · 12/12/2021 08:01

@ToCaden thanks for the reply, I'm glad it's not just my clinic!

Where did you get progesterone cream from? I might get some just for my anxiety. I want to trust my body but after the chemical mc it's scary.

I'm trying to be positive, my boobs have just started hurting which in my mind means hormones are stirring up! I've also had good line progression on tests. I think the next thing I'll do is get the clear blue week tests to hopefully see the 3-4 week mark.

I also feel like I'm coming down with a cold 🙄 it's not covid, I keep testing but Dr Google says it's an early pregnancy symptom so 🤞🏼

Anyone else having odd symptoms? x

Sunbird24 · 12/12/2021 08:11

Morning all!
I had a FET on 26 Nov and got a BFP 5 days later, due date is 14 Aug.

But this is my 4th pregnancy since summer last year, and my 6th embryo, so I’m finding it really hard to believe this one might actually stick. My clinic don’t do blood tests after a BFP (and my GP won’t either) and my viability scan isn’t until 6 Jan. That’s always been the point where I get bad news, so Christmas/NY is all going to be a bit stressful this year!
