Thought I'd make a thread for those of us who have been through treatment or faced infertility and are finally pregnant.

I have just got my BFP following frozen embryo transfer! It is still very early early days but I've had my beta today at 11dp5dt which was 474 so very pleased.

It's now the anxious wait to the 7 week scan at the end of the month!

Welcome and congratulations @ToCaden @Shroedy @MrsLA88 @Sunbird24 loving all this ivf success! Is this everyone's first baby?

@Novavee let us know how you get on with your scan today!

I'm 5w3d today and really struggling to know what's normal in terms of crampy feelings. I am deffinetly feeling lots of twinges and cramps. I've also done my last FRER today at 19dpt! Scan isn't until 7w4d so ages yet, tempted to book a private scan on Christmas eve but if we were to get bad news then it would ruin Christmas! The stress is never ending !

@dogmam thank you, you’re a day ahead of me! Still trying to catch my first - every embryo bar one has implanted so far, I just haven’t been able to get past an 8 week scan without bad news yet.

MrsLA88 · 14/12/2021 13:07

@dogmam yes it's our first! My 2nd transfer as my last one ended sadly as a chemical miscarriage 💔 I feel different this time so really trying to stay positive!

I agree I keep getting twinges and I'm hoping it's a good sign. I sigh a relief every time I go to the loo and there's no blood!

I've called my clinic today and asked they keep me on progesterone as I've stopped after my BFP so 🤞🏼 they'll call today as it's been referred to a Dr.

Are you having any other odd symptoms? x

ToCaden · 14/12/2021 13:13

@dogmam first baby here. I agree about all the cramping feelings. Had so many my lower abdomen feels tender when I take a really deep breath like I've done a major workout.

Novavee · 14/12/2021 13:32

Hi everyone, sorry I was a bit quiet. Had to rush to work from the clinic and it has been non stop until now.

All went well with the scan. Saw the little baby blob and the heartbeat, which was flickering away nice and strong and the yolk sac which the sonographer said was a good sign. The baby is measuring 6+3, so one day ahead.

I am officially discharged from the clinic but I was offered a 9w scan if I want one and I can still contact them for support even during the holidays which is reassuring.

@dogmam it's our first as well.
Regarding the cramps and twinges, they seemed to have calmed down a bit these last few days, but they used to be so strong I would rush to see if I was bleeding, so it seems to be perfectly normal, if that is what you are feeling. Sometimes it was a stabby feeling on one site, made me panic about an ectopic but all was well.

ToCaden · 14/12/2021 13:42

@Novavee yay. I'm so happy you had good news.

Shroedy · 14/12/2021 13:48

Excellent news @Novavee! Must be a real wait off your mind to get a positive scan result and be able to see your little blob!

MrsLA88 · 14/12/2021 16:13

@Novavee that's great news congratulations! ❤️

dogmam · 14/12/2021 17:18

Aww @Novavee that's lovely news and also great your clinic has offered an extra scan and support. How are you feeling about it all? Have you told anyone your news?

@Sunbird24 aw I really hope this is it for you. Do you feel different this time? When's your scan?

@MrsLA88 this is also my second transfer as my first ended in a chemical miscarriage too, so know how you feel. Hopfully this is it for us both. Have you heard back from your doctor yet? I'm on progesterone pessaries and injections until 12 weeks this time but clinics really seem to vary. The only other symptom I've had, although could be totally unrelated, was this morning lying in bed after my alarm I suddenly went really really dizzy, I sat up and then started really panicking as it was so bad as if the whole room was spinning, but only lasted about 30 seconds.. strange.

@ToCaden yeah feels like a workout but not a gym in sight ha, I'm tempted to cancel my gym membership actually as top scared to go. Just sticking to dog walking!

OP posts:
MrsLA88 · 14/12/2021 17:25

@dogmam I had this too! I was lying on the sofa and when I sat up the room span for what felt like an eternity. I asked Dr Google and it's from the progesterone. The injections are awful aren't they?

I've still not had a call back from the clinic. I'm just about to finish work so I'll call again in a mo.

I'm so sorry about your chemical, it's horrible I just keep thinking I need to do everything I can to make it work x

Lori23TTC · 14/12/2021 17:30

@MrsLA88 eekk my scan is the day before yours! Are you all testing again? I’m not sure what to do… just over 2 weeks till my 1st scan.. not sure if I need to get some more tests. I’ve also been getting a few dizzy spells and struggling to sleep but not much in the way of cramping?

Yep first baby for me too 🥰

@Novavee ah that’s lovely you have seen your bubba ❤️ And glad everything is looking good 🙌 x

MrsLA88 · 14/12/2021 18:48

@Lori23TTC ah lush we'll almost be scan twins! I've bought some weekly clear blue tests and they come tomorrow I'm not sure what weeks they should say at the moment? My app says I'm 4 weeks and 6 days. I'm getting cramps and keep waking up at night but it's mostly my anxiety!

Good news as well the clinic will give me a prescription for progesterone wooo just need to get them to email it to my pharmacy. Soo relieved x

Novavee · 14/12/2021 19:14

Thanks, everyone. It was a great experience. I was terrified going in and then I just did not want to leave. I could have stayed there looking at the screen for hours. It makes it so much more real.

@dogmam 3 people know: my sister and a friend of mine who is also ttc, as they both knew about ivf, and have been a great support. And my line manager, as I told work from the start to get time off for scans etc during ivf and fet. He knew about the scan today, asked me how it went and I didn't want to lie. But we are not telling anyone else until the 12 week scan. My mum would get too excited and wouldn't be able to keep it a secret, so if she knows, everyone knows and I am just not ready to deal with pressure and questions from everyone. Have you/will you tell anyone soon?

Lori23TTC · 14/12/2021 19:25

@MrsLA88 I think the tests would prob say 3+ weeks? I’m sure that’s as high as they go? I’m not sure if testing would make me more anxious than I already am?! My app says 4 weeks and 5 days lol that’s brilliant about the progesterone.. I’m doing 3 a day and I’m on progonova too.

@Novavee that’s brilliant news 🥰 we have told our parents as they knew about the ivf and luckily I know they will be able to keep it a secret until week 12.. I had to tell my line manager too. X

Sunbird24 · 14/12/2021 19:33

@MrsLA88 if you’re 5 weeks tomorrow it’s possible you’ll get a 3+, but don’t panic if you don’t as HCG doesn’t increase in a straight line - it can go up and down a bit along the way.

I’ve told a few friends but not my family yet, as my scan is 6 Jan. Hopefully it’ll be good news this time!

Shroedy · 14/12/2021 21:12

@Lori23TTC the clearblue tells you weeks from conception rather than weeks pregnant, so 3+ should be around 5 weeks pregnant (although as @Sunbird24 said, it's not totally precise!).

@MrsLA88 great news about the clinic! It shows that they recognise that, whatever their protocol, if it gives you peace of mind and is within accepted medical practice, so much better to give you that reason to relax! I need to make sure I get some more before it gets too close to Christmas (I could have got the whole lot when in Spain and would have been far cheaper but I didn't want to jinx it!)

We've told my parents and my MIL - they knew what was going on (my mum was actually with me for my transfer as my husband ended up being out of the country). Not telling anyone else until 12 weeks, other than possibly siblings when we've had our scan.

MrsLA88 · 15/12/2021 06:07

@Sunbird24 and @Lori23TTC thank you, I'll hopefully get a 3+ today but if it's a 2-3 I can test again in a couple of days 🤞🏼

@Shroedy I'm so relieved! The pharmacy said they don't have them in stock so it may take another day but so far no bleeding, maybe I don't need them after all! 🤣 I'd much rather be on them for no reason, regardless of how rank they are lol

We've not told anyone yet, just my manager knew I was having the transfer but not the outcome. I think we'll see how we get on at 7 weeks and decide from there x

ToCaden · 15/12/2021 08:04

I'm 5 weeks today! Still another two weeks one day until my scan though.

Shroedy · 15/12/2021 10:33

@ToCaden congrats! I'm 5 weeks tomorrow and have my scan on 31/12. Counting down until we hopefully get to see the little beggar!

MrsLA88 · 15/12/2021 17:53

@ToCaden me too! This is the longest I've been pregnant for 🥰 good news got a 2-3 on a test today, it was afternoon wee so I'm going to try again on the weekend and hope for a 3+

AND my pessaries are ready to collect! So relieved what a day lol x

Shroedy · 15/12/2021 21:32

@MrsLA88 hurray for pessaries! 😂

Lori23TTC · 15/12/2021 22:20

@MrsLA88 yay to getting your pessaries 🙌

@Shroedy thanks for clarifying the tests, I’ve brought some of the clear blue ones that show the weeks just waiting for them to arrive!

We are all so close with our scan dates, I just want it to be now 🤣 x

dogmam · 16/12/2021 08:30

I'm 5w5d today and got a 3+ on the clear blue yesterday so the testing has officially stopped ha.
Scan is 29th so if all is well, we are going to tell the family. We've arranged a get together for that evening with our parents so just trying to think of a nice way to share the news. Thinking of getting our dog a bandana (my dog is my fur baby so I always try to include him in everything!). Obviously, if things dont go well then it will have to be cancelled but we are trying to be positive, I know it's an emotional risk but I really want to enjoy this time.

What apps are everyone using to track their pregnancy and their dates? I've downloaded babycentre but it's full of adds!

OP posts:
ToCaden · 16/12/2021 08:55

@dogmam mine is called pregnancy, or maybe pregnancy week by week. Finding it useful for what I need it for and ads tucked away at bottom of screen.

Shroedy · 16/12/2021 10:21

@dogmam Also tested for the first time in a week today and got a 3+, it does feel like that little crutch of being able to track a bit has gone, doesn't it? Onwards to the scan!

I'm using Ovia pregnancy. I like it so far, no ads and it's just the right level of informative. Thinking of getting another book as well - anyone got any suggestions? I have What to Expect, mainly as I got it to help surprise my husband (he was away when I found out and I didn't tell him until he was home) - it's good but very US-centric. Thinking of
Day by Day Pregnancy by Maggie Blott. Anyone got any recommendations?
