Thread 4, madness

TTCjourney2021 · 18/11/2021 18:11

Can't believe we are on thread 4!! Haha congratulations @RoseValleyRambles!! The best news!!

I've had nausea throughout, but no sickness, then it hit today whilst driving to work, no chance to pull over had to be sick in my mouth then spit it out 😳😳 haha!! How bizarre to get it now at almost 9 weeks!!

Xx

PeeAche · 18/11/2021 18:24

@CurryandSnuggle - any update for us?

Pandamama88 · 18/11/2021 18:29

@PeeAche thanks for the link to the new thread, I always struggle to find the new one.

I have had only mild nausea so far. Which put me off some of my favourite foods but haven't actually been sick yet (touch wood). Early on I had really bad IBS cramps and was up at night sometimes it was so painful. It only lasted about a week and a half though which was a relief. I tried treating it with Peppermint tea which did nothing and tasted vile in my opinion. So I tried peppermint oil capsules (on the GPs advice. But alas again these did nothing and gave me really gross off-minty burps that made me feel more nauseous. So I just waited it out.

PeeAche · 18/11/2021 18:31

Kind of excited that I was the one that got to start the new thread. Blush

I need to get a life.

Hi all, I've been following along from the sidelines but plucking up the courage to partake here.

I'm 9+1 today with my second pregnancy. My daughter was stillborn at the beginning of this year (perfectly smooth pregnancy but got tangled up in the cord at the finish line)...anyway 2 rounds of IVF later here I am, pregnant with baby #2.

I had a scan on Tuesday (at 8+6) and all is looking great in there! Going with consultant led care and been told I will be in for scans as much as every 2 weeks. I'm a ball of emotions - flipping from terrified to so so happy so just riding the waves as they come. I am already starting to show, given I still had some weight from last pregnancy and the IVF so dunno how I'll hide this for much longer!

@RoseValleyRambles just WOW!

Prema112 · 18/11/2021 18:34

Ooo hello thread 4! @CurryandSnuggle thinking of you hope everything is ok xx

Willow1981 · 18/11/2021 18:35

Hi everyone. I'm not hugely active on here but do lurk a lot.
Had my glucose test yesterday and results in today. I am all normal so able to stick to my diet of sour sweets and tomato soup! Balanced, no?

Still a couple of weeks off my scan. Does anyone else feel like it's all unreal still? I need to see bubs to believe its real!

Roxystar23 · 18/11/2021 18:52

@Willow1981 Oh absolutely! I’ve got my booking appointment on Tuesday and this will be the first time a medical professional will have confirmed the news - it feels very surreal. I got confused on the phone to book the appointment about dates so I’ve had to wait even longer than I should have for the appointment. I’m hoping I can get a scan arranged quite quickly after this appointment.

Congrats to everyone with their beautiful scans! And massive congrats to @rosevalleyrambles !!

The waves of nausea seem to have passed for me now (thank goodness) - just the occasional heave, hourly hiccup & very sore nipples for me.

Is anyone else having to try and dodge Christmas party bookings? My work have decided that they are doing cocktail making for the Christmas party followed by booze and a meal. Then the next day the plan seems to get completely sozzled at a free bar that work are putting on. I don’t really fancy hanging around with a bunch of drunk people in a crowded bar. Confused. I think I might claim that the other half has already bagsied me to be his lift for the night or something. Grin

Hi everyone,
Long time lurker but now that my 12 week scan is coming up (Tuesday!) and it's thread 4 (!) starting to feel like maybe I should be getting involved haha. I'm currently 11+2 and EDD is 7th June. I'm in south London and currently registered with St Thomas in case anyone else is!
I've been lucky enough to have a relatively symptom free pregnancy so far (though do get the panic that maybe I'm somehow making the whole thing up!!) but today hit an absolute wall with exhaustion, body ache and cramping! Currently lying on the sofa basically waiting for bed 😅

Wellthiswasunexpected · 18/11/2021 19:02

Hey guys 😄 @PeeAche thanks for sharing the link!

@Journeylikenomother Welcome ☺️ I can’t begin to imagine what it was like to go through the experience you’ve described with your dd, I’m so sorry. But you’re in a wonderful place here in this thread, full of supportive lovely women who’ve already helped me deal with things that no one else could! Don’t know where I’d be without this thread tbh. Wishing you the best for the coming weeks x

ALHCTPS · 18/11/2021 19:04

@mrkb I’m St Thomas’s too. It’s a great place to give birth. My son was born there on NYE 2017 and we got the best view of the fireworks in London as a brand new family.

ALHCTPS · 18/11/2021 19:07

I don’t quite know how it’s done, but the thread like this I was part of for my son, who was due Jan 18, was migrated across to a closed Facebook group after a while, that only members could see, which avoided creating new threads. I could ask the woman from my Jan 18 babies how she did it if people are interested. That group remains essential to my peace of mind - an army of mums with a child the same age but myriad experience, who all have each other’s back.

mrkb · 18/11/2021 19:08

@ALHCTPS ahh that's such good news! It was between there and Lewisham for me but haven't had the best experience at Lewisham before (non-pregnancy related) so even though it's closer chose ST and have been back and forth about whether I've made the right decision!

CurryandSnuggle · 18/11/2021 19:13

Hi guys, sorry for the delay, I’ve had such a busy day!!

Baby was super cute and active, kicking and flailing around all over the place. Seems healthy and due date is 3rd June. (Although as I’m planning elective section I reckon it’ll be a May baby as they usually do them at 39 weeks!!). Scan took ages as they couldn’t get the NT measurements as baby seemed to by lying right where my c-section scar is 😂 was causing the sonographrr lots of difficulty haha. Had to jiggle around and all sorts but bath was adamant they liked that spot 😂

The hospital appointment was so long as I had long @12 week scan, blood test for the NT scan and flu jab, then they saw on my notes about my heart op as a child (as I had a hole in the heart) and said I should be referred for a scan in London at some point after 20 weeks just to check baby’s heart (apparently it’s protocol for mums who have had heart problems).

CurryandSnuggle · 18/11/2021 19:14

*baby was adamant

CurryandSnuggle · 18/11/2021 19:15

No idea why it’s changed 12 week to @ lol

ALHCTPS · 18/11/2021 19:16

@mrkb Yes, Lewisham is closest for me too (I’m in St John’s) but St Thomas’s is handier for work for both me (London Bridge) and my husband (North London) should anything happen during working hours. 453 bus takes me nearly door to door. Half wondered if it was possible to take the bus once I went into labour. Took an Uber in the end. Only time I’ve ever had a female driver. Tipped her £50 as a thank you, as she must have been worried I’d make a mess of her car.

Prema112 · 18/11/2021 19:26

@CurryandSnuggle 😍😍 Yay for a beautiful 12 weeks scan!! So happy for you!! Sounds like your baby was similar to mine, not wanting the measurements!

CurryandSnuggle · 18/11/2021 19:36

@Prema112 oh dear hahaha, what are they like Grin she did manage to get some measurements in the end but it took a long time!

mrkb · 18/11/2021 19:40

@ALHCTPS 😂 I've been wondering if it would be out of the question to get the tube there. Everyone says first one takes forever, I'll just hop on the DLR... haha

Seabreeze2 · 18/11/2021 19:50

@RoseValleyRambles Amazing news for you 😍 so so happy to read this!

Prema112 · 18/11/2021 19:50

@CurryandSnuggle She didn't get mine, but I don't mind cos it means I get another scan Monday week! I'm such a scan junkie...

Prema112 · 18/11/2021 19:52

To the point where my DH has asked if he has to go to this next scan (number 6) 😂 I might let him off and bring my mum instead

beansprout55 · 18/11/2021 19:52

@Journeylikenomother you are so welcome here! Fab group for advice, letting off steam, sharing burdens, and thanks to a couple of the girls some great laughs 😂

Will include you in our prayers for the anxiety to lift, such a sad story about your DD. So sorry you went through that xxx
