@Bubbasmama2017 It's the app for maternity notes. Not everywhere uses it I don't think, but here they do and don't do physical notes anymore, it's all on the app - appointments, test results.

I’m nearly10 weeks and I’m 39 . I’m in a bit of a panic but just taking each day as it comes . I already have 4 children that are all grown up but all was perfect with them so trying my best to keep calm Smile

Bubbasmama2017 · 29/10/2021 10:23

@GinnyBee that's interesting! I'm in the south west and seems to still be all paper and the big yellow folder here

Bubbasmama2017 · 29/10/2021 10:24

Mums with kids already, have you told them? I'm not sure when is best to tell my daughter although I think she knows something is up because of being sick all the time!

I told my 10 year old after a private scan at 8 weeks. It's been her dream for 6 years to have a sibling and I figured if I unfortunately miscarry then she would know something was up regardless.

@aNewYorkerInLondon I think my my dates were right rather than the scan measurements. My little boy was always in the 90th percentile for length and he is tall now. He’s just turned 2 so we measured him as apparently your final height is double what you are at 2 and he will be over 6 feet tall! He’ll tower over me 😂

robyna · 29/10/2021 11:56

Had a scan today with the specialist, measuring 11+4 and baby was wriggling around and had its little legs crossed and arm behind its head 😍

Hi ladies, I’ve not posted in a while! I’m currently 12+3 days and woke up at 4am last night with heavy red bleeding but no pain . It lasted for around 20mins and then slowed to just light pink when I wiped and still no pain. I haven’t had any bleeding so far in the pregnancy so it really scared me. I phoned Nhs24 and they said to only come to a&e if it gets really heavy and otherwise just call the early pregnancy unit in the morning. I’m currently waiting for a call back from them, but I’m driving myself mad not knowing if the baby’s okay! Has anyone had something similar and baby was okay? I’m so worried

Positive21 · 29/10/2021 12:58

Had my dating scan today, seemed wonderful 🥰

My NT measurement was 1.9mm which I think is good?

Just looked at my notes and it says I have a posterior low placenta. Googled it and now I'm worried! They didn't say anything so I assume they aren't concerned?

I've had my 12 week scan today. It felt very thorough, I had to jiggle my hips and walk around a few times to try to get the baby to move position. NT measurement was 2.2mm, I'm already 13w+2 so that seems fine. I still don't feel completely reassured as I know some issues might not show until the 20 week scan and my age is a factor.

@Milly1408 that sounds very worrying, but I would just sit tight and wait for the callback. I guess NHS24 don't want to direct people to A&E unless it's really urgent as it would mean a long wait. Hopefully as you're over 12 weeks the chances are it's not serious.

@Bubbasmama2017 I haven't told my DD as she's 3 and I think she wouldn't understand if things didn't go to plan, and I think it's too far off for her to wait. I haven't told any of my family yet, I was waiting for my 12 week scan, but I'm not in a hurry to break the news as I don't expect to see them in person for a few weeks.

Bubbasmama2017 · 29/10/2021 13:39

@morphe I was thinking similar I'm not sure if she'll ask me every day when the baby is being delivered Grin

Bubbasmama2017 · 29/10/2021 13:39

Hope you're ok @Milly1408 that sounds stressful

GinnyBee · 29/10/2021 14:49

Hope you're ok @Milly1408 xx Have you heard from the EPU yet? I wouldn't recommend going to A&E as the state of affairs at the moment is pretty dire and you could end up waiting forever (there have been reports of ambulances waiting 10 hours for a handover, I can't imagine how hard it is for anyone driving themselves), which will be more stressful than waiting at home for a call back from the EPU.

aNewYorkerInLondon · 29/10/2021 15:39

@Milly1408 - this sounds similar to what happened to me (why does it always seem to be late at night when things happen?). My midwife hotline did actually advise me to go to the A&E at St. Mary's here in London. It was not a good experience. Anyway, I learned that their emergency gyn services are only there during the day anyway, and they referred me to come back to the Gynae ER the following afternoon. By then I had mostly stopped bleeding and what was coming out then was brown, not red. At the Gynae ER, they did an abdominal sonogram and saw that baby was ok and could not see any bleed around baby/my uterus/my cervix. They also did an internal exam where they saw blood but it was only the old blood from the prior night - nothing fresh. They advised that the old blood will have to make its way out, so I'll see it slowly emerge over the next few days as brown discharge or brown blood and that is ok. If there is red again then I'm to call them back and they'll see if they can find the cause (assuming it's during the day, of course 🤨).

This was the first time I've bled too and it scared the heck out of me, but the main thing is baby was fine.

I really hope you get some reassurance from them soon. I wish you all the best luck and big hugs.

LS2020 · 29/10/2021 17:39

Loving all the scan pics - had mine today, measure behind by 2 days so now EDD of 11th - @Positive21 lost you as an EDD buddy now!
Wonderful scan though, got a little wiggle and even saw their brain insane! Can’t remember the NT size think was about 1.4/1.5mm which they said was good.

@Positive21 I think it can move up so they don’t get too concerned at this point. They didn’t even look for mine but got to see the blood pumping through umbilical which was cool.

@Elsie2021 thank you for the reassurance on the cramping, it turned into pain hence why I went AWOL yesterday, but it's just a dull ache today so I'm also saying it's growing pains

@nuttella1 I don't have any symptoms other than heavier boobs & a few twinges that's all. No nausea or anything but it's scaring me after 2 losses including a missed miscarriage sorry @fattycatty82 I will admit it! I'm 10+3

@Bubbasmama2017 I have a DS who is 3 and we haven't said anything around him as he's obsessed with babies so if he clicks onto it and it does t go well it would be devastating, we'll stop "not mentioning it" after the 12week scan @morphe I hadn't considered the "is it nearly here yet?!" Oh god. Maybe longer then

@Milly1408 I have a hematoma so they told me to expect bleeding but not assume it was an issue I have 🤞🏻for you

Awwwwww look at all the lovely scans!! I'm still nearly 2 weeks off mine 😩

Milly1408 · 29/10/2021 20:03

Thanks for all your kind messages! We still haven’t heard back from EPU and they close at 4.30pm! so we luckily managed to book a private scan for this afternoon. The baby was fine! Wiggling about and kicking their arms and legs, it was such a relief. Similar to you @aNewYorkerInLondon, the sonographer couldn’t see any further bleeding anywhere on the ultrasound, so it seems to be unexplained at the moment. I’m just so glad that everything was okay! It’s super scary!

Positive21 · 29/10/2021 20:19

@LS2020 no way!! Mine got pushed back one day too so we are still due date buddies 😂 I'm due on 11th xx

aNewYorkerInLondon · 29/10/2021 21:19

@Milly1408!! I'm so so pleased!!!

hwp22 · 29/10/2021 22:09

@Milly1408 - so pleased all ok - that sounded very scary for you.

Loving seeing all the scan pics over last few days - I’m v v anxious for my scan tomorrow - just praying all will be ok. It’s an early scan @ 10+4

LS2020 · 30/10/2021 07:00

@Positive21 ah yay that’s exciting! I was 9th so was a nice chance to finish week two full weeks ahead but I’ve changed so I finish on the Wednesday instead (I don’t work Weds anyway) so it less AL before baby is here. Though interestingly I was the same, LMP date was 12th and my mums scan date pushed her back to 14th and I arrived on the 12th so maybe I’ll be the same!

@Milly1408 so pleased to hear scan went well. Must have been so terrifying when they assure you once you’ve had your 12 week scan your risk massively decreases. Hopefully just a small one off bleed 🤞🏻

Minster2012 · 30/10/2021 08:37

@Milly1408 that's great news 💕

@hwp22 good luck today you are the same as me! Wish I had another scan

autumn321 · 30/10/2021 12:23

Just got my letter through for my first scan. Currently 10+3, scan is on the 17th November which will make me 13 weeks exactly. I'm so impatient I feel like the next 2 and a half weeks are going to go so slowly!!

acupofteamakeseverythingbetter · 30/10/2021 12:31

@autumn321 mine is on 17th too! I'll be counting down the days with you xx
