@acupofteamakeseverythingbetter aww thanks I'm so excited and nervous at the same time! I'm on annual leave that week so it's worked quite well I'm just so impatient and wish it was sooner haha! xx

GinnyBee · 30/10/2021 15:01

@autumn321 I know how you feel! Mine is in just over a week on the 8th when I'm 12+2 and I can't wait to get it done! feels like such a milestone. I guess because of my history it feels even bigger, we've never made it all the way to the dating scan before.

Bubbasmama2017 · 31/10/2021 06:21

I've got my scan tomorrow afternoon and haven't stopped thinking about it the last few days. I've had some minor cramping but no bleeding has anyone had this? I think I'm around 12+4. So scared!

Etonmess20 · 31/10/2021 07:47

@Bubbasmama2017 how exciting your scan is finally here, mine isn't until Wednesday when I'll be 12+5. The last few days I've been crampy & had also had light spotting at times (very pale brown coloured) & think it's just everything stretching. I found the NHS website lists symptoms by week & cramping (period like) is on there for week 12 so that reassured me. I'm sure everything will be fine for you!!

LS2020 · 31/10/2021 07:52

@Bubbasmama2017 enjoy tomorrow and hope all goes well! I’ve had loads of cramping and aches this past week with no bleeding. Think just been part constipation and everything else growing - our uteruses are bigger than a grapefruit now so that’s going to cause a lot of new strain in you body. Find baths help or just slowly stretch legs and pelvis out ☺️

fattycatty82 · 31/10/2021 08:23

I'm 11 weeks today and only felt a bit sick before I had dinner last night then managed to stay up past midnight!! I wasn't out partying sadly just reading my book but even this morning I feel like I have more energy. Did anyone else feel better around now? Thinking I might actually be able to cook something later, which will be brilliant because my OP is a terrible cook bless him and that hasn't helped! 😂

Bubbasmama2017 · 31/10/2021 08:35

@ls2020 & @etonmess20 thanks for the reassurance that's helped me this morning. I've got a busy day today and tomorrow before the scan so hoping that will take my mind off it.
I also worry about drinking enough water before the scan! Has anyone had issues with that? I need a wee all the time as it is!

Etonmess20 · 31/10/2021 08:49

@Bubbasmama2017 if you need a wee all the time anyway (I do too!!) I wouldn't worry, when I went for a private one a couple of weeks ago she said my bladder was too full so maybe wee later before the scan then suggested then drink slightly less. Glad you've got a couple of busy days, I'm hoping to keep myself distracted & positive until Wednesday!!

robyna · 31/10/2021 09:06

@Bubbasmama2017 for my first scan at 8w3d weeks I thought it would be an internal one, pregnancy hormones meant I needed a wee a bit anyway and they tried abdominal and there was baby!
For my most recent at 11w4d I drank about 750ml of water in the car journey over (about 45 mins before scan) and if you scroll down you'll see my scan pic - it was so clear. I wasn't absolutely desperate for a wee to the point where I'd wee myself but I did need to wee and I did have to go for a wee straight after the scan.

hwp22 · 31/10/2021 11:17

@Minster2012 - Thanks 🙂 scan went well - still measuring on track with dates so we are still DD buddies….well sort of!!

Some to totally shocking news at the scan - I’m pregnant with Twins!! 2 little wiggly babies in there 😱 Can’t quite believe it, but the total zombie like exhaustion makes sense! How the heck am I going to do this???? Answers on a postcard please! xx

robyna · 31/10/2021 11:22

@hwp22 that's amazing! Is this the first scan you've had or did you see one baby at previous scans?

fattycatty82 · 31/10/2021 13:37

@hwp22 oh my gosh what a bombshell!! You must be completely shellshocked but congratulations 🥰 It will be lovely for them to grow up together and always have each other... perhaps it'll mean they'll entertain themselves a bit more and less pressure on you as they get older??

AMM86 · 31/10/2021 13:40

I’ve woken up this morning and all my sickness and stuffiness has gone.
I know I’ve read other people panic when this happened to them… is it normal? I’m 10+4 :( really worried.

LS2020 · 31/10/2021 13:40

@fattycatty82 yes I’ve been getting better since about 11 weeks although I’ve had a couple of bad days randomly since. Generally had more energy but already had a 3 hour nap today so not a perfect science 😂

@Bubbasmama2017 @Etonmess20 the exact same thing happened to me, had to go pee it out and she just did the scan anyway 🤷‍♀️ Told me to drink less next time - and I had a mini wee before I left because I couldn’t stand how my bladder felt!!

@hwp22 what a lovely surprise! You’ll be fine, just twice as exhausted when they’re here too 😬😬

aNewYorkerInLondon · 31/10/2021 14:02

@hwp22, what a surprise!!! Congratulations!

@AMM86, I had a short reprieve from symptoms and it made me nervous, but they came back with a vengeance the following week. I'd say, as long as nothing else feels wrong (bleeding, cramping, etc.), enjoy it while it lasts!!

Maybe tick off some of the to-do list while you have the energy? (it took me ages to swap out my summer and winter clothes over the last few weeks!)

aNewYorkerInLondon · 31/10/2021 14:05

I had a session with my trainer today after taking several weeks off for feeling so rotten and, though we took it relatively easy today, it felt really good to get moving again. She's a trained antinatal personal trainer, so everything she has me do feels really safe, though still so hard!!

hwp22 · 31/10/2021 14:06

@robyna - thank you! It was early scan as anxiety got the better of me, couldn’t wait till 12 weeks!
@fattycatty82 - yes a lot to take in 🤪 let’s hope so, a couple of people have said similar to me! Here’s hoping 🙌🏻
@LS2020 haha….yep guess I’m just going to be tired for the next few years (well forever!!!)

acupofteamakeseverythingbetter · 31/10/2021 14:59

Congratulations @hwp22 amazing news!

GinnyBee · 31/10/2021 15:32

Congrats @hwp22 ! It will be hard but certainly worth it in the end!

@aNewYorkerInLondon I went to the gym yesterday too for the first time in 5 weeks! Was tough, but felt really good to do something normal again, and it's certainly loosened off some of my couch-potato aches and niggles! I always get really sore if I don't move for a while.

itssquidstella · 31/10/2021 18:04

@hwp22 congratulations, what exciting news!

LemonSwan · 31/10/2021 19:14

@hwp22 Wow congrats! What a surprise Shock

Good to hear you are both back to exercising. I am still couching mostly but have been googling the local pregnancy yoga classes.

Been wondering about swimming as well. Having a weird craving for floating around outside in the moonlight pool with a seedlip gin and tonic Grin Have been googling babymoon spa trips to try to find one a UK one with an outdoor heated pool (cant afford Switzerland sadly!)

PairofPears · 31/10/2021 19:28

Hi all, great to read everyone’s updates! I’m 10+2 today and my god I have never felt worse. This nausea and sickness is way worse than my first pregnancy, and I can’t stay awake either. I have read that sickness peaks around 10 weeks and I really really hope it subsides a bit soon as it’s been manageable up to now but I genuinely feel I can’t cope at the moment, I’ve spent all day retching and crying! Is there anyone who had a similar peak at 10 weeks and please can you give me some hope that it will improve a little bit? I don’t need it to go away completely but I do need it to dial down in intensity. Currently there’s no way I can go to work tomorrow, but I can’t even see that staying home and resting is going to help at all. Sorry to be so negative! I think it’s hit me hard as it’s so much worse than last time! (Had a scan at 8 weeks and they said only one in there else I’d be worried!)

aNewYorkerInLondon · 31/10/2021 20:16

@PairofPears, my peak was the 10th or 11th week and it was awful. I still have nausea at 13+4, but it's so much better. Started lessening around week 12. If you can stay home and rest tomorrow, it does help, even if it's just rest between trips to the bathroom.

@LemonSwan, both my consultant OV and the doctor at the Gynea ER said that swimming is among the best cardio one can do in pregnancy!!

My peak was around the 10th week and it was awful, constantly all day and night! Nothing at all was easing it and I tried everything I was recommended however, as soon as I hit 11 weeks it just got so much better. I'm now 12 weeks and the last week each day has got better, I still feel nauseous now and then which I am glad I still do in a way but it isn't as much and I feel so much better in myself. Fingers crossed you're the same x

Ooo that is interesting! Now I can medically justify my babymoon to DP lol Grin
