@summertimes2021 I’m a sahm now so no work to tell but first time I said it was a dentist appointment which I think is a good cover as if you need any follow up appointments you can say its a follow up dentist appointment.

@LetsDoTheTango welcome to the thread and congratulations!

Ive sent off my self referral form to the midwives so will wait to hear from them. Still only 4w2d so very early. I found out at 3w3d so I feel like I’ve been pregnant for about 5 years already it is going so slow 😂

Going through a really stressful time at the moment with a house purchase. It’s been dragging on for months and we were due to exchange soon and complete next Friday but the chain is falling apart and I don’t think we will be moving at all now and half the house is packed into boxes. Trying to calm down about it as I don’t want the stress to affect the pregnancy which of course is making me even more stressed!

LetsDoTheTango · 27/08/2021 13:48

@maymum94 yes I feel the same, nervous but excited. I've had a few anxious nights lying awake and worrying too. However many children you have, I imagine the first 12 weeks are always difficult because you just want to know your baby is healthy and growing well Flowers I am finding a daily five minute meditation is helping to ground me and helps with some of the anxiety. I use the Calm app. Might be worth a go?

@MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat you're two days behind me! According to my calculations I am 4+4. I can totally identifying with feeling like it's dragging! I can't wait for my first scan, just hoping all is well until then.

I'm sorry you're going through a stressful time with your house purchase. We did it last year and it was awful, so I can sympathise. It's horrible because so much of it is out of your control and you're having to rely on other people doing what they said they would do. Which as we all know, doesn't work out sometimes. When will you know for definite if the chain has collapsed? Keeping my fingers crossed that doesn't happen Flowers

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 27/08/2021 16:41

Thanks @LetsDoTheTango there is still a glimmer of hope with the house but I’m not optimistic. Basically it has been dragging on for months due to one person in the chain having a useless solicitor. Everyone is ready and finally due to exchange. We were going to move next Friday only we just heard yesterday that our buyer is insisting on exchanging on the same day as completion and no one else in the chain is agreeing to that. Our buyer is now saying she wants to wait another month as she’s expecting a baby in a few weeks and everyone else in the chain has had enough and several people are about to pull out if it doesn’t happen ASAP. So basically no idea what will happen. My little boy is starting school next week as well so I’m stressed about all the upheaval for him and a bit sad this is my last week with him and I’m just stressed out and fed up and going to miss him so much once he starts school. Basically I’m just a hormonal mess that keeps bursting into tears and my husband is giving me a wide berth as he knows anything he says will be wrong Grin sigh.

I’ve just weirdly had a letter booking me for a 12 week scan. It’s for 25th October which seems so far away but quite nice to have a date to look forward to!

Noideawhatimdoing12 · 27/08/2021 19:30

Hi ladies can I join? Got a bfp yesterday, due date 8th May!

I think I'm shock, as although very much planned it has come after a vasectomy reversal. I think I didn't want to get my hopes up, so did my best to convince myself it wouldn't work.
Hope everyone is well, I'm cautiously excited. Smile

summertimes2021 · 27/08/2021 21:14

My partner has banished me from the room for unbearable gas. Please tell me it lightens up and I won't stink the bedroom out for the whole nine months?

LetsDoTheTango · 27/08/2021 21:40

@Cartref30 congratulations on your BFP Smile wishing you a healthy and uneventful pregnancy Flowers how are you feeling in general?

@MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat gosh, there is something about house buying that makes people go a bit crazy I think. Exchanging and completing on the same day seems bonkers. It might work in certain circumstances but I can imagine it's awfully stressful - more so than necessary. We only had a chain of three but that was bad enough. We did everything that was asked of us, and in speedy time, but the person at the top of the chain still threatened to pull out at the last minute. No idea why because they would have just been shooting themselves in the foot and going back to square one. Luckily they were just bluffing and it all went through in the end but hubby and I have vowed to stay put for a long time yet Grin

Aww best of luck to your little boy starting school, how exciting and nervewracking all at once. I hope he settles in okay. It's such a milestone!

That's great you have your scan date all booked in, definitely something to look forward to! Did you self refer to the midwives or have you already had a doctors appointment? Here's hoping the 25th of October comes around quick for you.

@Noideawhatimdoing12 congrats on your BFP and welcome to the May mum gang! How are you feeling?

@summertimes2021 don't worry, you're not the only one. The gas has been absolutely awful for me today, I've even disgusted myself Blush I have IBS so am usually fairly windy anyway but this is something else! I am hoping things calm down soon. I'm so bloated!

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 27/08/2021 21:55

@LetsDoTheTango I self referred through the midwife team at the hospital where I had my 2 children. There was a link on their website. I only emailed the form back on Wednesday evening so was very surprised to have a letter in the post today with my scan date! I haven’t heard anything about a booking in appointment yet though.

summertimes2021 · 28/08/2021 08:16

I have loads of cheap tests left is anyone else still testing daily just in case or have I lost my mind?

maymum94 · 28/08/2021 09:44

@summertimes2021 I'm the same but using my ovulation tests as I know if it's not dark sometimes is up but it's beaming ever day now.

Welcome any new ones joining us and congratulations

@MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat you may end up booking appt on the 12 week scan this is how my trust has been running since COVID. Joining appt together, I remember sept referring last time and got an appts two days later for 12 weeks. I had my last baby at the beginning of COVID so not too long ago

OP posts:
MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 28/08/2021 14:35

Oh that’s interesting @maymum94 my last pregnancy was pre-COVID so might well be different this time!

maymum94 · 28/08/2021 14:54

@MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat yeah they changed a lot of things for that time they might start to be going back but I think my trust will be the same as we still in a higher infectious area so I think the will do a lot of combined appts again. But only time will tell

@summertimes2021 wooo that's great! Looks a strong positive to me! I also did 2 reassurance tests today and both the control lines were so faint! No idea what that means!

Due May 22
MrsHughes1 · 29/08/2021 16:22

Me too - I’ve promised myself I won’t test any more now 😂

I am glad I'm not to only nuts one. We went for a wander round John Lewis today as that's the only place that really does prams anymore. We felt like imposters 😂😂

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 29/08/2021 16:45

@ninadust I think that’s referred to as a ‘dye stealer’ where you have such a strong positive it takes some of the dye from the control line - so a very good sign of strong hcg levels.

I’ve still got a few cheapies so I do one every few days because why not? 😂 they seem to be getting darker. I had a clearblue digital saying 2-3 weeks at 13dpo and I have one left over so I’ll do that at 5 weeks I think hoping it will go up to 3+ weeks to give me some reassurance. If it doesn’t I’ll obviously panic and buy loads more tests 😂

maymum94 · 29/08/2021 16:52

I've done another few ovulation tests a d still beaming don't have any hcg left but as long as the ovulation beams at me I'm taking it as positive. Yah for al the reassurance tests today ladies

MrsHughes1 · 29/08/2021 17:09

Hope you enjoyed looking at Prams! I spend a lot of time in JoJo maman 😂 Can’t wait for us all to start looking pregnant - I feel like that will ease my anxiety 😂

ninadust · 29/08/2021 17:22

@MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat oh really? Well, I have never heard of that before!

Haha I am like you and want to see the 3+ on the clear digital as well. Bring on 12 weeks!! This early stage is just anxiety after anxiety!

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 29/08/2021 17:29

Haha I know @ninadust I cannot wait for 12 weeks seems like an age away!

I agree @MrsHughes1 I can’t wait to have a bit of a bump. I didn’t get one until about 20 weeks first time around but was showing by about 8 weeks last time! Just something to make me feel even slightly pregnant would be good! I had really bad morning sickness with my first 2 from 6 weeks and im almost willing myself to get it again for some reassurance!

Celina94 · 29/08/2021 17:56

Hi guys I'm 4 weeks 4 days due around May 6th.

Took another FRER this morning (have been testing every other day since 24th and line has gotten darker each time) and test line was stronger than control line which was relieving. In the early afternoon I went to pee and noticed brown discharge when I wiped. Went to see the doctors and they took a blood test & they said hcg looked fine. Have a scan booked for Friday. So worried. Have been crying all day :( has anyone had brown discharge with a pregnancy before? Or know anything?

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 29/08/2021 18:00

Hi @Celina94 I had some brown discharge in my first pregnancy and it was fine (baby is now an energetic 4 year old dancing around my living room) as long as it’s not red I think it’s ok (and even then it’s not always bad news) so try not to worry too much. If you’ve had your hcg checked and the levels are good it’s a really good sign all is ok! Easier said than done but try not to stress Flowers
