@maymum94 one near me is 70 for 15 Min appointment. I thought that was dear. Maybe that's about right 🤦🙈 x

maymum94 · 26/08/2021 16:29

@Skl2021 I only have window to the womb near me and I think all there scans are £79 I know there is a few private company's put there but this one I had to travel 20mins drive to each way anyway so I wouldn't want to go even further.

Yey me too, just got my positive today! Due may 8th!!

maymum94 · 26/08/2021 16:31

Okay so just checked mine out and it's the early scans are £79, well being scan from 16weeks £55 well-being and gender from 16 £59 and then 3D are over £99. I think the first one will be and internal scan too that's what they did to me last time.

@traveltheworld1986 welcome and congratulations on your positive 🥰🥰🥰

traveltheworld1986 · 26/08/2021 16:37

Thank you! I have already booked my early scan! Mine cost £70 for 15 mins which seems a ridiculous price but obviously there is no way I can wait until 12 weeks! I called my midwife and they have given me my booking in appointment for the 2nd Oct, she did say it was early to be booked in but did it anyway!

maymum94 · 26/08/2021 16:38

@traveltheworld1986 you think they can charge what they like as we have to pay if we want the scan. But like you said the wait until 12 weeks is so long and I self refer after 6 weeks think I'll wait until my scan on 13th to be sure then do it. It's all online for me they will automatically send appt by mail.

Skl2021 · 26/08/2021 16:54

@maymum94 I just presumed the gender tests and the ones later on would be dearer 🤦 but like u say they can charge what they want and people will pay that for the peace of mind! It is a really long time to wait until first scan.
@traveltheworld1986 congratulations 🎉 your prices are the same as mine so must be about right x

maymum94 · 26/08/2021 16:57

Definitely 12 weeks is too long to wait. I'm so excited for the 13th now.

MrsHughes1 · 26/08/2021 17:28

£70! That was the cheapest I’ve found! £59 is good.

maymum94 · 26/08/2021 17:46

Has anyone told anyone else yet ? I told my BFF and my mum. I think I don't want to say anything to anyone else yet just incase. I'd rather they know as if something happened they would be the only one so tell anyway.

OP posts:
Skl2021 · 26/08/2021 18:02

@maymum94 I haven't told anyone apart form partner. Probably won't until we have a scan. How far will you be when you have your scan? Was thinking when's best to book one x

maymum94 · 26/08/2021 18:16

@Skl2021 I booked for 13th I'll be a couple days of 7weeks. I think I we have the same dd

OP posts:
Skl2021 · 26/08/2021 18:18

@maymum94 I was going to book one around 8 weeks to make sure I could see something and definitely get the heartbeat. Wasn't sure what u can see at 6 weeks. X

maymum94 · 26/08/2021 18:22

@Skl2021 I remember going 6 weeks last time and we saw the heart beat so hopefully will be able to again this time. I know they will do the internal exam to see better.

OP posts:
maymum94 · 26/08/2021 18:23

8 weeks you will definitely see. Here me the early bird 😂😂 I think I'm over excited again already

OP posts:
Skl2021 · 26/08/2021 18:25

@maymum94 yes just don't want to pay all that money and not be able to see anything or find a heartbeat then I will be fretting 🙈 so would rather wait a little longer xx

maymum94 · 26/08/2021 18:30

@Skl2021 I can totally understand I'm hoping myself we can see a heartbeat otherwise I'm sure I'll be a nervous wreck until the next scan.

Morning all. Hope everyone is doing well today.

Just a quick question when do you plan on telling your work your expecting so you can attend appointments

LetsDoTheTango · 27/08/2021 09:10

Hi all,

Can I join the thread? I got my BFP on the 21st of August, due 3rd of May, first baby Smile

I have been feeling okay so far, quite a bit of cramping but no spotting, verrrrry sore boobs, but no nausea yet. Quite tired as well!

I have my first midwife appointment next Thursday when I will be 5+2 but now I'm worrying it's too early and they will tell me off?! As this is my first baby I have no idea what I'm doing Grin but the receptionist at the doctors surgery asked when I'm due when she booked me in, so they know it's early days.

I am also considering an early private scan but not sure when to book. I will be 8 weeks on the 20th of September so thinking maybe some time that week.

@summertimes2021 I am planning to tell my work at 8 weeks. It's actually worked out quite well as I am on holiday for 2.5 weeks from the 1st of September and will be two months gone on my first day back. X

maymum94 · 27/08/2021 09:18

@LetsDoTheTango of course you can join us congratulations

@summertimes2021 I did it last time at 7weeks because I was suffering from Hyperemesis (which I think has already started again) so if this sickness continues like this I think I might be doing the same. Last time I spend weeks 8-18 in hospital every week being hydrated so I'm hoping not to repeat that this time around.

OP posts:
LetsDoTheTango · 27/08/2021 09:24

@maymum94 thank you Smile I'm so sorry you suffered with HG last time, I can't imagine how tough that must have been. Here's hoping you get a reprieve this time around Flowers

Congratulations to all you May mummies to be! Star it's so nice to be able to chat to other women in the same boat, as I haven't told any of my family or friends yet. Just mine and hubby's secret so far! X

maymum94 · 27/08/2021 09:28

@LetsDoTheTango thanks I'm really hoping this time I get off easy. I had it until the day I gave birth last time and was on medication the entire pregnancy. Major relapses at the birth. So fingers crossed it doesn't happen again, although my gp has on file that I can see the specialist earlier this time around.

It's so lovely to share the journey with others I've only told my mum and BFF as they would be the only ones to find out if something went wrong. My bff as if I need her to watch my daughter I know she's drop everything. I'm hoping that doesn't happen and that this little bean stays sticky.

It’s very early days for me, I’m only 4+3. Only my partner knows so far. At the moment I’m not planning on telling anyone else for awhile, I’m very anxious about chemical / early MC and for me only my partner knowing makes it less ‘real’ for now. If I get to 8 weeks I think I’d tell my mum and best friend at that point :)

LetsDoTheTango · 27/08/2021 09:44

@maymum94 oh you poor thing, that sounds awful Sad I am glad it's on your notes now though so you can access the specialist earlier if you need to. I can totally understand why you have shared the news with your mum and best friend. It's so important to have that real life support network in place. Wishing you a healthy and uneventful pregnancy Smile
