My little dude is breech. Trying to stay calm about it, having the ECV but if that fails it will be a C-section which I was really hoping to avoid as my husband has recently had a major op and we will be a fine pair if neither of us can carry anything heavier than a kettle. Family will help and I am lucky to have that, feel a bit pathetic but its just not what I had hoped for you know?

Hope2022 · 19/01/2022 14:54

@apricotoreos hopefully he will turn in time!! 🤞🏻

Hope2022 · 19/01/2022 14:58

@apricotoreos it’s not pathetic, it’s tricky when things are out of our control!

I’m having an elcs, but consultant said if I go naturally before date I’d potentially have to v birth, which this time round I wanted to avoid (previous 3rd degree tear).. just when I’d made up my mind things could change at last minute 🙈🤦🏼‍♀️ Plus side any LG has gone from
Engaged at 35 weeks to floating back to
Back so maybe I’ll get that one elcs.

Good luck lovely!

glasspaw · 19/01/2022 15:23

@PissedOffNeighbour22 this situation sounds awful. I hope you manage to get the support needed asap!

@apricotoreos nothing pathetic about that at all! No matter how much we all tell ourselves that we know things can change and not go to plan, I think it’s only human to feel a bit disappointed if we don’t get the scenario we hope for. Fingers crossed baby turns in time for you!

My reflux is so bad that I could genuinely cry at any moment. I feel exhausted from being so uncomfortable. It’s making me sick multiple times a day and the temptation to just not even try and eat is huge, but I know that starving myself isn’t good for baby. I’ve contacted my midwife again today about it to see if they have any more advice (and hoping that they finally prescribe me some omeprozole for it!)

Counting down the days until my internal organs have more room again!

Sleepyquest · 19/01/2022 17:56

Not sure about anyone else but I'm finding the nights really hard. Waking up with extreme back pain and needing to pee about 8 times Sad

I ate a HUGE lunch today and have been paying for it all afternoon - ooops!

SouthwestSis · 19/01/2022 18:34

Sorry to hear that @apricotoreos, can they hold off the section until 39+4, 39+5 or something in order to give your other half the maximum possible recovery time? Best of luck for your ECV!

That sounds rough @glasspaw, assuming you are taking max gaviscon/rennies already?

Yes @Sleepyquest nights are hard at the moment, luckily I am on mat leave now so am managing to get a good 10 hour stint in bed (which translates to about 8.5hrs sleep a night once you take away all the loo trips and waking up in discomfort!

Hope2022 · 19/01/2022 19:52

Oh my the acid reflux is horrendous!!
I actually woke up gasping for breath last night 😥
It won’t be long now ladies and our babies will be here!!

Winterfellismyhome · 19/01/2022 20:35

@Hope2022 i know! I feel like it's absolutely flown by

OP posts:
BabyFeb22 · 19/01/2022 20:50

@glasspaw I feel like I live on gaviscon I have a massive bottle that I end up waking up every night and having to drink some. I was using the tablets but find the liquid so much better!

Sunshine8888 · 19/01/2022 22:35

My OC medication seems to be working as my bile acid and liver function levels have decreased - yay! So baby stays in for now … will be tested again Tuesday (I’ll be 38+2) and also having a sweep to try and get things going otherwise induction at 39+1 eek!

glasspaw · 20/01/2022 11:33

@BabyFeb22 @SouthwestSis yeah I’ve been living off gaviscon. The liquid in the pink bottle is definitely the most effective but I’m getting through bottles of it so quickly! Pretty sure it isn’t meant to be consumed so regularly but it’s the only thing that helps when the reflux kicks in.

The tablets don’t do anything anymore. I think I overused them 😅

CucumberCool · 20/01/2022 11:52

Hey all,

I've been having a mug of raspberry leaf tea a day for the last week and a bit. Occasional couple of dates too.

Anyone else doing this?

BabyFeb22 · 20/01/2022 11:54

@glasspaw I honestly think it's the only thing getting me through right now. I dropped the bottle the other day and some spilt out and I actually cried! Blaming the baby hormones on that one of course but it was like the end of the world hahah

decafforme · 20/01/2022 12:04

Hi All,

I haven't checked in in a while, this whole pregnancy has flown by!!

I'm due 1 feb so not long at all and finished work last week. Have been having some major discomfort below when I think baby has engaged but then they must move as it eases. There's so much pressure sometimes I can barely move.

Has anyone been having multiple cases of hiccups? My little one seems to have had them 4 or 5 times since last night, didn't think much of it but remembered something from first preg so read up on Google and got myself in a bit of a tizz Confused

Winterfellismyhome · 20/01/2022 12:26

Hi all, ive started a new thread in pregnancy as this is almost full. Cant link as im on the app :)

glasspaw · 20/01/2022 14:23

@BabyFeb22 that sounds very reasonable given the circumstances tbh haha. I cried the other day because I forgot to turn the dishwasher on and I needed a mug but couldn’t be bothered to wash it by hand. The tears threshold is definitely the lowest it’s ever been!

@decafforme I have this and also terrified myself by googling it. Spoke to my midwife and she laughed when I said “does it mean I have a compressed umbilical cord” and responsed “ah I see someone has been consulting with dr Google”

She reassured me that it’s totally normal as baby is practicing breathing.

decafforme · 20/01/2022 18:52

Thank you @glasspaw I did drop a message to my mw, felt a bit silly but no response anyway!

But yes that's exactly what I read also, but I think I also read that was found in a test study on sheep!

Winnie87 · 21/01/2022 10:55

Not been on the thread much but I've been told I'll be induced on Tuesday if nothing happens before then! So just before 39 weeks. They've told me balloon and sent home for 24hrs. Or gel if balloon can't be fitted. Very nervous but least he'll be here next week!
Need positive vibes

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 21/01/2022 11:14

@Winnie87 I just had mine via induction, and it honestly was fine. Just lots of waiting about as they're so busy. But the pessary and gel weren't painful. The drip was painful, but after four hours I got an epidural. And topped it up the teeniest amount so I could walk around, go to the toilet, birth on my sides, knees, squatting etc. No interventions and no tears. I was petrified after reading some scary stories, but it honestly was okay

Thank you for replying! Can I ask how long did it take? Like from pessary to labour? My husband isn't allowed in untill active labour

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 21/01/2022 14:03

@Winnie87 honestly the pessary had worked in 24 hours and I should have gone straight to the labour ward. However labour ward was busy, so I kept getting bumped. The actual labour part was 12 hours. My partner came and brought me fresh clothes and snacks, and we met outside and had a walk together every day and went and got some lunch.

However I was admitted Monday night and only had my baby early hours of this morning. I'm in London and they said they're just so so busy and understaffed

Winnie87 · 21/01/2022 15:39

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 that's a shame you kept getting pushed back I know wards are short staffed at moment. I'm hopeful if I stay in I'll be able to go for a walk with husband and daughter. Thank you for taking time to reply.
Hope your little one is doing well and you are!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 21/01/2022 22:49

@Winnie87 hopefully you will be able to. Can't imagine they'd be able to stop you nipping out for some fresh air and exercise. Good luck! X
