Oh @MollyQueenOfSocks you poor thing! I hope they can get you in early. Sounds dreadful!

BabyFeb22 · 03/01/2022 18:10

Oh @MollyQueenOfSocks bless you let's hope you're not waiting too much longer!

Went for the 3D scan, she was a bugger again and refusing to show her face! They did measure her though and I'm 32 weeks today and they've measured her at 30w2d. I have a midwife appointment Thursday anyway so been told to tell them but is this something I need to worry about? Don't know if it has anything towards it but I'm on 4ft 8in myself! X

Lionnose · 03/01/2022 18:59

My little one was measuring behind at my last scan but they went to look at their ‘charts’ and said it was within range. So hopefully it will be the same for you.

@Winterfellismyhome

Csection planned in 28 days and also hoping to go early Grin

Has anyone chosen their baby names yet?

How did you convince your doctor to go the c-section route? I am having a LOT of trouble with mine. It's a complicated pregnancy and they keep telling me it will "likely " be a c-section but refuse to schedule it or guarantee it! I am so frustrated!
Dove88 · 04/01/2022 07:44

What size bag are you all taking to the hospital? Not sure I’ll fit my pillow in the one I’m planning to take!

Winterfellismyhome · 04/01/2022 07:59

@MollyQueenOfSocks aw no. Hopefully they let you go early

@kisaki333 i had a previous emergency section so this time i got referred to the midwife consultant and she asked what i wanted to do this time round. Very easy. I hope you get one

@Dove88 just a cabin sized suitcase, a large tote bag (for snacks Grin) and gonna just carry my pillow

@kisaki333
It's completely up to you if you want a C-section or not. The midwife at my antenatal class keeps reinforcing this to us.

www.birthrights.org.uk/factsheets/right-to-a-c-section/#do

If the consultant refuses, ask for another consultant. (And put in a compalint to PALS).

You can also ask for their reasoning. It may be they just cannot fit you in the time frame (fully booked theatres) then you can explore going to another hospital to have it done. At least you will have a reason.

They can suggest you have a natural birth but if you want an CS, ultimately, it's up to you.

I'd suggest you stand your ground and have the birth YOU want.

Winterfellismyhome · 04/01/2022 14:33

Had a consultant scan today as baby had fluid on the bowel just before Christmas. Consultant has now said that baby has a dilated bowel and we just have to wait until birth. Anyone else had this? Worrying Confused

Good luck to everyone here - just checking in at 34 weeks - feel ready to pop as baby is super wriggly. all I feel is hands and feet booting my cervix! This is my second baby and I was able to feel the head with a finger last night. It’s quite disconcerting Shock have just been referred for a growth scan as baby has not grown since last appt but they are so strong and wriggly I’m not too worried … good luck to everyone here - we are gonna meet our cuddly little babies soon!! X

glasspaw · 04/01/2022 17:06

Back at work today (34 weeks) for the final stretch and it was tough! I barely did anything really but just being present and engaged in conversations that weren’t about pregnancy and babies was a real challenge. Starting to think thank my ambition to work up to 39 weeks was a bit much 😅

BabyFeb22 · 04/01/2022 17:11

@glasspaw my original plan was to work until 38 weeks, 32 at the minute and still not finalised but thinking 34 will be my cut off, I'm back WFH now which I thought would be a bit easier but it's the sitting down all day that a killer with feet constantly in my ribs haha x

glasspaw · 04/01/2022 17:18

@BabyFeb22 I might blow up my birthing ball and try sitting on that for my wfh days haha. There just isn’t a comfy position at this point (save for the bath….but somehow I think my company might draw the line at a ‘work from bath’ arrangement).

Best of luck for your final few weeks. We are almost there now!

I'm at work still at 36weeks and it's okay in terms of getting stuff done, it's just the nausea for me. Has anyone's come back pretty badly? I feel sometimes like I could be sick, food and water just sloshing around in my stomach, and feels like it's coming up my throat. Sorry, it's so gross.

@Winterfellismyhome I haven't had that and I'm sorry such a worry. Have they given you any more info? I did have some growth issues a few weeks ago that I was referred to FMU for, but after a couple of scans they don't think it's anything to worry about. Sometimes the later scans cause more worry I think. Hoping it's all okay for you

Winterfellismyhome · 04/01/2022 18:46

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 thank you. Not really. He didnt seem overly concerned which is a slight comfort. He said often once the baby is born, they dont find any issues. He wants to rescan at 37 weeks so we'll see then.

Agree about the sickness! Was relieved when it ended only for it to come back towards the end Sad

OP posts:
BabyFeb22 · 04/01/2022 18:48

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 Yes my sickness seems to have come back and I keep waking up in the night coughing like water up I've suffered bad acid reflux all the way through and even before I was pregnant so think mines linked to that

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 04/01/2022 18:54

@Winterfellismyhome that's good he didn't seem too worried, and also that in a lot of cases it's fine at birth with no issues. Another scan at 37 weeks will be reassuring, and good to get the extra check.

My problem was short femurs that can point to some issues. Have had another couple of growth scans since and they've evened out and so they aren't worried anymore. But for a while I was Googling and panicking.

Don't know what to do about this nausea! Makes me feel nervous to go out when feeling this sick again. Feels a bit like 1st trimester is back again....

glasspaw · 04/01/2022 21:07

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I’ve started being sick again in the past couple of days too and it’s exactly as you describe, just all of a sudden there’s horrible acid-y liquid in my mouth. It’s very gross!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 04/01/2022 21:16

@BabyFeb22 and @glasspaw ahh no it sounds like it might be a thing to have the sickness back then. Sorry you're suffering too!

MollyQueenOfSocks · 05/01/2022 14:04

Thanks all. I got my Csection date through for 9th February (which is 39 weeks) so at least I have a date to work towards! I am hoping he tries to come early though, I am 34 weeks at the moment and 5 more weeks seems really daunting!

For now I am back on bedrest which I can't be because I have two other kids to tend to, Codeine isn't even taking the edge off anymore and paracetamol never did anything anyway but the consultant said to continue taking them anyway. Physio has lent me a TENS machine which is OK, but barely works and I can only use it ten minutes at a time. So ultimately might as well not bother with any of it and just lay here suffering. Didn't feel listened to by the consultant at all and honestly on the verge of going into hospital and begging them to actually help me.

I had to go for a growth scan on xmas eve because midwife thought he was big (he isn't) and I know this is awful, but I was really, really hoping he was big so they would get him out earlier.

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I am so sorry you are suffering with sickness again. No idea what to suggest but whenever I feel nausea coming on I pop a couple of Rennie which seems to help - although if it is happening suddenly then there is no time!

As for how to get things to hospital, I have a small "carry on baggage" suitcase for my stuff and a bag that's about the same size as a reusable supermarket bag for the baby bits. Like @Winterfellismyhome I will just carry the pillows :D

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 05/01/2022 21:46

Oh gosh @MollyQueenOfSocks that sounds awful and can understand why five more weeks of that sounds daunting. Hope you feel better soon and maybe they can move your c section forward a week

BabyFeb22 · 06/01/2022 16:57

Little update on the midwife appointment- 3D scan told me she was measuring at 30w told the midwife and she did the bump measurement- I've gone from measuring 27w to 33w in three weeks! Now being sent for a growth scan to see why so much growth, one extreme to the other in 3 days haha

SouthwestSis · 06/01/2022 18:40

Yikes @BabyFeb22 do you know when the scan will be?
I've got mine next Tuesday and hoping he hasn't accelerated his growth or i will be getting induced before I've had any decent mat leave time off at all!

catinthehat12 · 06/01/2022 22:23

@BabyFeb22 I had similar growth in bump size, although not in such a short time frame as you, 28 weeks bump measured small so they sent me for growth scan that showed he was actually measuring big. 32 week appointment comes round and I now measure bigger than expected, so sent for another growth scan where again he was big (although even bigger this time). I won’t moan as I enjoy the extra scans, but it’s all a bit of guesswork isn’t it really!

@SouthwestSis Fingers crossed he’s slowed down a little so you get to enjoy a bit more time off. How many weeks are you next week and when would they induce? Is he measuring particularly big too? I have tried to read back but can’t see anything, so sorry if you’re repeating yourself!
