I don't know if I'm experiencing bad constipation or if it's all going to happen. My vagina feels heavy hahaha. Second baby and due on the 2nd Grin

tierneytarny · 16/01/2022 21:46

I’m so uncomfortable at the moment 🙈 everything just hurts

catinthehat12 · 16/01/2022 22:03

Still just over a month to go for me but I am already so impatient. It’s really not long now! I finish at work in 2 weeks, I don’t think that has really clicked yet?!

Sunshine8888 · 16/01/2022 22:26

Just started collecting colostrum tonight in the hope it kick starts labour… can’t help but feel baby is a little too cosy though!!

Sleepyquest · 17/01/2022 10:13

Oh I need to do that @Sunshine8888 I never did last time. Got midwife tomorrow so will ask!

feb2022 · 17/01/2022 12:07

@Sleepyquest that seems sooo close!
Eek! It's so exiting now
I've still got 6 loooong weeks to go and really struggling with the kids, getting them dressed is the worst!

AtomicSquash · 17/01/2022 12:12

Can I ask @Sunshine8888, where did you get your syringes from for collecting the colostrum? Did you buy them or did your midwife have some?

SouthwestSis · 17/01/2022 12:21

My midwife gave my syringes for collecting colostrum but not sure if that's because I have slightly more reason for needing it what with being gestational diabetic and baby at risk of low blood sugar after birth.

I've been trying every evening for 5 or 6 nights now and not getting more than the tiniest of blobs but I'm going to keep trying!

Starting to feel more nervous now, I've got a sweep booked in on Wednesday and then potential to start induction of labour on Friday!

Sleepyquest · 17/01/2022 12:41

@feb2022 it is so close aghhhh!! You gotta start making them dress themselves lol

feb2022 · 17/01/2022 12:59

@Sleepyquest haha my 3 year old will put his legs in his pants... the 2 year old... not so much 😂

Winterfellismyhome · 17/01/2022 16:52

@Winterfellismyhome super cute though!!

BabyFeb22 · 17/01/2022 18:04

@Winterfellismyhome I've been banned off Etsy for about 3 months so far for buying stuff like this hahaha. Will 100% be worth the three seconds they wear them for though haha.

Winterfellismyhome · 17/01/2022 18:16

@Hope2022 they are adorable!

It’s lovely to see everyone getting excited but is anyone else starting to feel overwhelmed and nervous? I’m due the 15th Feb so 4 weeks tomorrow. This is my second baby. I have really struggled today with my emotions. I’m concerned if my baby comes earlier I’m not actually ready yet, still have things to buy, still need to wash pram from DD1, not set up crib yet, not got car seat out the loft. Not packed hospital bags. I’ve been ordering things this last week so I’ve made a start but it’s making me feel all of a panic now reality has set in that in roughly a months time I’ll have a newborn and 4 year old to look after 😳

Sunshine8888 · 17/01/2022 19:48

@Sleepyquest @AtomicSquash my midwife gave me a few to get me started but I also ordered some off Amazon. I’m just going to try and do 10 mins twice a day and freeze the colostrum for baby. My poor boobs feel so bruised today though after starting 🙈

BabyFeb22 · 17/01/2022 20:11

Yes I'm starting to get nervous now, I'm not due until 28th feb but now I'm having to see consultant and midwife weekly for possible pre-eclampsia I'm just worried I'll go one week and they'll be saying yeah come back tomorrow to be induced! Also not the best that me and my partner have finally fingers crossed got a house! Find out in the next couple of days and then get the keys Friday! Yes I know so stupid it's taken until 6 weeks before being due to sort a house but it's been a crazy year! Also kicking in that I now only have 8 shifts left at work.
With the colostrum stuff- my first baby so don't really have a clue but how do you know when you're ready to do this?

tierneytarny · 17/01/2022 20:44

@BabyFeb22 I’m not organised in the slightest. The baby room is filled with loads of stuff that needs sorting!
With colostrum, my midwife suggested beginning to harvest from 36 weeks (it can induce labour). I forgot to collect my kit so I’ll probably be 37 weeks when I start collecting.

BabyFeb22 · 17/01/2022 20:46

@tierneytarny Yeah we have everything we need which is making me calmer, just need the house now haha. Ah brill thank you a few weeks to go yet but I'll try and remember to speak to midwife about it when I go this week....I say try and I now have complete baby brain 😂

tierneytarny · 18/01/2022 19:25

I walked out of the hospital without my kit last week 🙈 so now I need to go up to the unit to pick it up tomorrow. Baby brain is awful 🤣

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 18/01/2022 19:37

More issues today at the consultant appointment. I'm getting very worried at the state of the care I'll receive. I'm due on 14/2 so not that long.

I was refused a c-section despite having a traumatic first birth. My consultant wasn't there so I was passed to someone else. She said there was no reason for a c-section. Minimised my health issues and said I could only have had a ELCS if I'd spoken to a specialist midwife right at the beginning of my pregnancy. I can't even get to see a normal midwife, let alone a specialist one.

MStarG · 18/01/2022 20:30

@PissedOffNeighbour22 how infuriating! From what I understand there's not an official law on rights to c-sections but it's generally accepted that if a specific doctor refuses they must refer you to one who will carry it out. The below website is good for advice and they might be able to help you with who to speak to next. Not what you want to be stressing about at this time though.
www.birthrights.org.uk/factsheets/right-to-a-c-section/

@BabyFeb22 I feel your moving pain! We get the keys to our new house on the 19th and I'm due the 25th! Hoping we'll manage to get moved before baby makes an appearance but who knows. The move means I'll change health board which nobody quite seems to know how to deal with. And I'm trying to work up until the day before the move along with packing and cleaning...I may have bitten off more than I can chew...

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 18/01/2022 21:42

@MStarG Thanks, I'll take a look at that link. I was supposed to take in a medical professional as I have ptsd from my first birth, but they were running hours behind and she couldn't stay for the appointment. My DP isn't allowed in with me so I was on my own trying to plead my case.
I've spoken on the phone with the lady who was supposed to support me during the appointment and she's going to review what happened and speak with my actual consultant.

Winterfellismyhome · 19/01/2022 11:25

@PissedOffNeighbour22 hope you get it all sorted. Sounds horribly stressful Thanks
