Checking in to the new thread Smile

Sunshine8888 · 16/08/2021 20:02

Thanks for the new thread. I have my 16 week midwife check on Friday, I’m so hoping to hear the heartbeat. The wait between the 12-20 week scan is so odd as don’t really feel pregnant - I remember feeling that last time.

Rose212 · 16/08/2021 21:43

Im 14+3 and im just waiting for my gender scan next week yaay. I hate the wait between the 12 wk scan and 20 wk its long and gives me anxiety!!
Also dont judge i still havent taken the vaccine and im super terrified because of previous miscarriages so if anyone can give me some positivity that would be great 🥺

CNMP · 16/08/2021 22:40

@Peachi82 ahh good! I have my 20 week scan on the 27th too!

@overtherainbo wow! I love that though. I’m thinking about starting to buy big items as my husband is a teacher and we usually work on terms 😂 since the only one between now and the baby that isn’t Christmas is October, I’m panicking about running out of time and I don’t want to rush any purchases!

I totally agree about not feeling preggo. Although I think I jinxed myself as earlier I was raving about feeling normal and following dinner I wretched for a solid 10mins and I’ve had such bad trapped wind, my tummy is so painful!

Can’t wait for my next appointment and starting to feel some kicks so It’s not just the scans to keep me going!

overtherainbo · 17/08/2021 08:17

@CNMP Yeah I get that too, mines a brick layer so our best money is summer, winter weather is unpredictable for us haha!

glasspaw · 17/08/2021 08:35

I’ve selected most of the big items but plan to do the big shop when all of the Black Friday sales start.

Not sure I can handle the 12-20 wait! Reckon I’ll cave and book a private scan for 16 just for reassurance!

feb2022 · 17/08/2021 08:38

So I went for for my 12 week scan yesterday, letter in hand, got taken to a little office to be told they had got the dates mixed up 😲... brilliant it's only a 40 min drive away and my DP had to take half a day off work to watch the kiddos
So it's today at 7:30pm!! 😊... bit late but I can't complain really
Also at my booking appointment on Saturday midwife dipped my urine and said I had blood in it so I have to ring them today to see if I need antibiotics or not... lovely!

overtherainbo · 17/08/2021 09:25

@feb2022 oh gosh. It's been none stop for you. I hope your scan does well tonight, I can't believe they didn't squeeze you in still

feb2022 · 17/08/2021 09:49

@overtherainbo honestly it always happens to me 😂
I just know I'll be worrying all day now until I have the scan haha

Baby4due2022 · 17/08/2021 09:49

Hi all
Just been for my dating scan, 13 weeks today due 22/02/2022 with my 4th baby :)
Still suffering with horrendous nausea and tiredness, can’t wait until they subside.
Hope everyone is doing well x

becarefuloutthere · 17/08/2021 11:52

@Baby4due2022 same due date as me! I'm 13+1 and still feel horrendously nauseous and tired too! Does it ever end? This is my first.

StephanieJ · 17/08/2021 12:10

So after my bleeding I managed to get a last minute cancellation appointment yesterday at EPU, scanned and thankfully all okay! Baby yet again was not staying still 😂. So shocked to find though that in 5 days baby has grown from 44mm to 61mm! They have said no cause for the bleed and don't see any issues. As baby is clearly a little wriggler or just like to play up for scans I'm dreading a scan I have to have at 20/22 weeks which is basically just on the baby's heart as I was born with a heart condition, can see it taking them a while haha

Baby4due2022 · 17/08/2021 13:21

@becarefuloutthere sorry your feeling the same. From my experience with my other pregnancies yes it does eventually subside. My first pregnancy was a breeze but that may be because I was 23 at the time. 2nd was fine just with tiredness for the first 12 weeks or so, and my 3rd the tiredness really got to me lasted about 16 weeks. But was fine after that. This time I feel like the tiredness will never end but I know it will, probably doesn’t help I’m now 31 with 3 children 7 and under :D
Hopefully within the next few weeks I would say you should start to feel more normal (that’s what I keep telling myself) x

becarefuloutthere · 17/08/2021 13:49

@Baby4due2022 thanks, I hope so! And I was wrong, I'm 13 weeks today too, I thought it was Wednesday 😂

@StephanieJ glad all is ok! X

0Scapes · 17/08/2021 15:39

Hi all, another silent lurker here due 16th Feb! Finally allowing myself to start feeling excited after having our 12 week scan last week and low risk screening results in the post on Saturday :D

@StephanieJ hope you don’t mind me asking - I’ve got an appointment with a consultant as I was born with a hole in my heart (all sorted now thankfully). Did you have an appointment prior to having a scan or were you just told you would have a scan straight away? Just I’ve got no idea what to expect with this appointment next week!

Still no date for 20 week scan yet but we have our 16 week appointment with the midwife to hear the heartbeat in two weeks ❤️

Thank you all for keeping me sane these last few weeks!

ChaiTRex · 17/08/2021 18:41

Well, I wasn’t planning on telling my coworkers until after the 20 week scan, but they’ve decided that we “need” to tour the new occasional workspace and get keys for for it (even though we’re fully remote now) and all go get lunch afterwards on Thursday.
Didn’t want to seem antisocial, so I told them the news today. I’ll swing by in two masks for the tour and keys, but I will not be accepting any hugs or sharing a meal with ten people. I’m double vaxxed but I’m still cautious as a breakthrough case is much more serious if you’re pregnant….

Plus I just don’t want to eat lunch with them 😉

glasspaw · 17/08/2021 19:11

Has anyone started feeling anything yet? I’m in week 14 (first pregnancy) and I just got a weird distinct fizzy butterfly feeling in my tummy. I could pinpoint exactly where it was. I googled it and it seems like some people describe early kicks as feeling like “flutters.”

Definitely wasn’t expecting it this early! Interested to know if anyone else is feeling things yet.

Rose212 · 17/08/2021 19:43

@StephanieJ im glad all is okay!! I was hoping you post and update us on the new thread 😀

pusscous · 17/08/2021 22:02

@Rose212 I have only just had my second vaccine dose- was just under 13 weeks. I understand the worry, I've had 10+ miscarriages some early some late and was concerned if the vaccine would trigger it or that it could happen independently but I would forever blame the vaccine. Anyway so far all good and little one is bouncy away well inside

pusscous · 17/08/2021 22:07

@glasspaw that's so exciting for you! It's an amazing feeling when you first realise that you feel your baby moving inside you 🥰. I was about the same stage as you with my first, now after a long journey I've been feeling her for 3 weeks- lots of roles and undulations on the inside.

glasspaw · 17/08/2021 22:16

@pusscous it was weirdly comforting :) kind of looking forward to feeling it again!

pusscous · 17/08/2021 22:17

Hi all, have been absent for a while- went on holiday to celebrate my 40th (gulp) and had limited internet and just choice to take a media break.

Just before we left I had my first dr appointment- gyn/ ob to confirm the pregnancy. I was sooo nervous of my womb being empty but the surge of love I felt when I heard the 💓 and saw them wriggling.

Yesterday I was at a prenatal diagnostic centre for 12 week tests- blood work for regular plus nipt. The scan was perfect, heartbeat beautiful- I love listening to it, nt measurement perfectly low and little one wriggling away just how I feel it and their hands up by the side of their face- in an identical manner to their sisters both in womb and earth side.

But... they phoned me in the evening with the initial risk for Downs as being middle risk group at 1/66 and forgot to tell me about the Trisomy risk 😳 so have to wait for in the post. I'm really upset, was planning photos for a pregnancy reveal- no one knows of the baby apart from our girls. The further NIPT test is being done but have to wait for 2 weeks for results. We go back to see the OB/gyn at the end of august and will have further scan then so looking forward to seeing her again. Saying her like I know...

pusscous · 17/08/2021 22:18

@glasspaw Yes! When all other symptoms disappear you know you are pregnant as someone is moving inside of you...

feb2022 · 17/08/2021 22:49

Scan was fine today.. I finally feel like I can breathe a little!
Little wiggler wouldn't keep still to do any propper measurements, right at the last minute the sonographer managed to get it 🥰
Feel very blessed & happy tonight
