I finally had my booking appointment on the phone yesterday and I'm going to the maternity unit tomorrow for bloods/ BMI checks and things and then scan on Monday ☺️
Apparently I'm consultant lead this time because I lost a lot of blood in delivery with my 1st little boy, I wasn't consultant lead in my last pregnancy though but a big standard pretty straight forward pregnancy and birth (luckily)
When I brought this up she said ohh that must have been a fault on our behalf I'm awfully sorry!

Ohh ok, you lot only potentially put my child's life at risk... but yeah that's fine! 🙄

glasspaw · 13/08/2021 10:41

Had my combined screen results back today. All low risk, but two are 1 in 50,000 and one is 1 in 20,000.

Just curious to see if anyone knows what makes one more likely but still low risk? Obviously I’m not worried about the results but I just expected that either there would be an indication of high risk for one, or they would all get broadly the same result.

overtherainbo · 13/08/2021 10:47

I've gave in and booked another private scan. I'm not sure I am happy with being told it's a irritated cervix when no examination or scan has been provided to back it.

Partner has advised to just wait and see but I've booked without him knowing🙈

WinsAndNeedles · 13/08/2021 11:19

No real update here. Baby is still hanging on in there and I'm finding feeling his/her movements reassuring. Just said goodbye to DH and DC. DH will come back on Monday evening and PIL will return the kids on Thursday or Friday. They've never stayed away before other than DS going to scout camp etc. DD hasn't even been on a sleepover, so I'm a bit nervous but she's excited.

Planning on resting and watching boxsets the whole time they're away. Thank god for Deliveroo!

Sunshine8888 · 13/08/2021 12:45

Sorry to hear about the stressful weeks. Also had a tough one here, my poor toddler has a urine infection but it took 6 hours in A&E and multiple tests to figure that out. I was delirious with no sleep, trying to juggle work and looking after her… I genuinely forgot I was pregnant for a while I’ve been so distracted! Luckily managed to get some rest last night and feel more human today. Just hope my little girl starts feeling better soon 🤞🏻

overtherainbo · 13/08/2021 12:52

Anyone got recommendations how I can get a clear scan photo, I drink so much water anyways. Is there any other tips? I've heard eating before the scan helps, not sure how though

feb2022 · 13/08/2021 12:52

@Sunshine8888 my auntie used to work on a dialysis ward and the consultant she worked under used to suggest robinsons lemon & barley squash (has to be that particular brand)
Honestly!... it works wonders to help UTIs I've suffered with them my whole life and it's a game changer xx

feb2022 · 13/08/2021 12:56

@overtherainbo could try a full sugar cola about 30 mins before you go in... I know it's meant to wake baby up and make them more active but the last time I was told that it was for a 4D scan around 34 weeks (cheeky monkey wouldn't move into the right position) so not sure about earlier on??... sorry probably no help at all really 😂😂

overtherainbo · 13/08/2021 12:58

@feb2022 I was debating trying the fizzy method haha! I'm going to have to try it and see what happens. I haven't had pop in months so it will be a shock to us both 😂

feb2022 · 13/08/2021 13:11

@overtherainbo haha I'm terrible for my fizzy drinks 😲 it was the only thing that stopped me feeling sick to my stomach!
Which has finally started to ease now 😊

feb2022 · 13/08/2021 13:12

Also if anyone likes a good read this is really good!
I mean it's a bit sad but equally as lovely

Sunshine8888 · 13/08/2021 14:28

@feb2022 ooh thank you, anything is worth a try! I hate seeing her unwell. Also thanks for the book recommendation, I am trying to get back into reading

Rose212 · 13/08/2021 17:49

@ButFirstTea im thinking in waiting until i know the gender to tell people.

Rmw99 · 13/08/2021 19:15

Hope everyone is feeling OK after recent worries.
Did anyone have a very dead arm soon after their vaccine? Had it at 12 clock but my god my arm is lifeless. Feeling better I got it but also paranoid something will happen 🙃

overtherainbo · 13/08/2021 20:35

I'm absolutely buzzing. I went to my private scan and she even give me a snippet of 3D. I got to see baby sucking it's thumb. My heart is full 🤍! She then sent me the whole scan video through, I can't upload a video so heres a snippet of the 3D part 🌈

feb2022 · 13/08/2021 21:24

@overtherainbo omg yess the second pic baby is propper thumb sucking 😍😍
How cute is that! X

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 14/08/2021 07:25

@overtherainbo that's v cute!

@Rmw99 I'm having my first jab this morning so can let you know. I read the studies tho and apparently if you're pregnant you're more prone to localised arm pain and nausea and vomiting as a side effect.

Got my nipt result back, v low risk, which is a relief. Was low risk on the combined tests, but not as low as I'd have liked, so feel good to have double checked

overtherainbo · 14/08/2021 07:36

Thank you @feb2022 and @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I wish the video could upload on here. So nice to see so early 😍

Rmw99 · 14/08/2021 08:30

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 thank you, had a really bad night with the pain, and then sciatica on top if it. Wasn't fun!

Seasidesusy · 14/08/2021 09:42

Morning ladies. I’ve really enjoyed reading through this thread and everyone’s different experiences. I’m 15+1, due 4/2/22. The first few weeks were tough with some pain and bleeding but everything looked great at 12 weeks. I had about 7 weeks of intense nausea and sickness which stopped a week ago (thank god!!). Now though, I can feel my anxiety creeping up as I just don’t feel pregnant.. maybe because my early symptoms were so full on but all I’m feeling now is fatigue and super sensitive nipples! I’m bloated but I wouldn’t describe what I have as a bump. I suppose my question is how do I keep myself sane while waiting for the 20 week scan?! I’m usually a really calm and logical person but I’ve become so highly strung since my positive test.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 14/08/2021 11:56

@Rmw99 that does not sound like fun!

Can I ask did anyone who has had the vaccine get quite bad stomach cramps straight after? I did this morning while waiting in the room for the 15 mins afterwards. I mentioned it to them and they said it would be totally coincidental and to call my gynaecologist if it doesn't get better later on. They couldn't get me out of the vaccine centre quickly enough, even tho my 15 minutes of waiting wasn't up. I'm not really sure what to do, or if it's normal. I just haven't had cramps for weeks, I'm 15 and a half weeks now, and I don't have a gynaecologist.

Rmw99 · 14/08/2021 12:19

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7
I had minor cramps after but not straight away, they were mainly on top of my stomach though with some around my pelvis. Everything seems fine today x

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 14/08/2021 12:29

@Rmw99 thank you, it's just around the pelvis and lower stomach but seems to have subsided now about an hour and a half after my jab so maybe it is just normal. Sorry was having a little panic x

choccrumpet · 14/08/2021 13:03

@Rmw99 my arm was going a bit dead after my second vaccine last week, it was a strange feeling but it went away quickly enough.

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 could the cramps have been due to nerves? It sounds like it could have been a coincidence. Glad they've gone away since! Take paracetamol if you're not feeling great, helped take the edge off it for me

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 14/08/2021 13:18

@choccrumpet hello 👋 . I don't think due to nerves as they're low and periody, not like stomach ache or butterflies. But you never know. Will take it easy-ish for the rest of the day and see. But I have no aching arm or fever or anything
