@Rmw99 being mixed race puts your risk higher?

I'm a bit late to the thread but due 4th Feb! Turning 30 tomorrow, FTM and 14+3 weeks along today, scan showed a healthy baby two weeks ago

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 apparently so, not sure how or why but both times iv been told the same, exact words "your results will also be based on your ethnicity"

I have a proper bump girls, already looking 5 months 😅

Just found this thread. First proper scan tomorrow (had early one due to previous complications). Will find out for sure tomorrow but think I'm due around 17th Feb 🥰 this is my first. I'm 36, nervous and excited in equal measure.

@Rmw99 ah okay thanks, I'm mixed race also, she noted that down but didn't tell me it'd affect it! That's so interesting, I wonder why.

@babyD20 I had my anomaly screening scan and nipt tonight with a Dr who also works for fetal medicine unit and is a specialist for abnormalities- he said our downs screening result is very low risk and he wouldn't have a problem with it and wouldn't have thought I necessarily needed the Harmony. Just mentioning as I know we had similar screening results. Ive paid for Harmony anyway, but the scan was way better than the NHS one, I got a proper written report of all the measurements and checks, and he could tell me it was a boy with '98% certainty'.

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 @Rmw99 I'm not mixed race but my baby will be! I always thought mixing races would cause less issues as genetics are so far apart but we'll see 🤷🏾‍♀️

@ChaiTRex I am also definitely pregnant in some photos from a wedding at the weekend. I’m still only 11 weeks. Didn’t show with my DS until 16/17 weeks so very unexpected!

I got my harmony results today and all low risk, but won’t get my combined results until they check the NT next Tuesday. Keeping fingers crossed.

@ChaiTRex thank you for your positivity. I'm going to try not to worry about it until we get the results. It is what it is and there's not a lot we can do really.

I’m 12 weeks and definitely showing already. Most of my trousers won’t do up anymore!

Scan today went well. Got a super clear picture too! Have been reading up on nub theory and asked in a few places and I think It could be a girl.

Don’t mind either way, but thought it was fun to guess.

Hi , are you going to find out the gender ? I cant decide!! Great picture , i was amazed how clear mine was too 😍 , i couldnt predict on the nub due to legs in the way!!

@MgW1 amazing that you can see a little nose and mouth already in both of ours! Definitely finding out the sex, though we don’t have a preference. Just makes getting a name ready a bit easier really haha. How about you?

@Jenc1111 congratulations! I had my scan yesterday and same as you, 12 weeks 3 days, only one baby though!

@becarefuloutthere good luck for your scan today, i was a bit nervous because I have a retroverted uterus ( tips backwards at the mo) so had to have an internal scan to get NT measurement. @glasspaw i think we are going to have a suprise, i found out with my son and was disappointed in myself for spoiling the suprise!!! Didnt find out with my daughter and it was great!

Ahh such lovely scan images! I had my first vaccine this morning 🙌🏻 I’m now 13 weeks 3 days. So glad I got the vaccine, can finally get excited about going out shopping for baby bits without a worry! Hope you are all well and everyone who has scans today goes well! Xx

@MgW1 scan is tomorrow, just hit my 12 weeks today 😃

@CNMP ooh that reminds me I need to book my second for next week, still nervous about it so might wait a while longer actually, gonna see if the sonography has any view on it too. I'm collecting all the opinions lol!

I have my '12 week' scan tomorrow (pretty sure I'm only just 11 due to dates at an early scan). I can't believe how clear some of scan pics are and it's making me even more excited! I'm also so nervous as I have suddenly stopped having morning sickness and don't really feel pregnant! Does this seem normal? Sorry this is my first pregnancy so not a clue what to expect!
