@becarefuloutthere You're not last! I don't have my formal NHS dating scan until Thursday when I'll be 11+6 by dates...

CaramelWaferAndTea · 10/08/2021 14:27

@StephanieJ I also suddenly feel much better if that helps - tidied some of the muck around the house in the last 72 hours rather than lying in bed feeling horrendous. I think this is normal - I had a totally normal viability scan last week.

feb2022 · 10/08/2021 17:32

@becarefuloutthere I've not even had my booking appointment yet 😅 I have a phone consultation on Thursday so hopefully get my 12 week scan not long after that, I'm 12 weeks exactly on Thursday so I'm hoping so 😂

becarefuloutthere · 10/08/2021 17:49

@whistlers yes there is! @Peachi82 will invite you to it. She'll send you a dm
@miracle2022 how exciting!
@StephanieJ mine is tomorrow too! I'll be 12+1, also my first so can't help with what's normal or not but I do know that everyone experiences it differently if that helps you.
@CaramelWaferAndTea good luck for Thursday!
@feb2022 ah bless you hun! I hope they get you booked in ASAP for scan and midwife. Let us know x

StephanieJ · 10/08/2021 17:58

I've already had two scans one at 6 weeks which obviously just looked like a blob and then one at 9 weeks, she couldn't get measurements properly as baby wouldn't stop moving around. We did get one pic where you can see baby's feet and toes. I think I'm more nervous about having to see a consultant than the actual scan! My partner is also a recovering alcoholic and has relapsed so I'll be going on my own

I’m a bit of a lurker as I haven’t posted much but scan tomorrow for me. I think I’ll be 12 + 2 tomorrow based on my calculations so will be interesting to see whether the measurements agree.

feb2022 · 11/08/2021 10:07

Anyone got major body aches?
I'm literally aching from head to toe it hurts to even walk at the moment my legs feel like I've done a solid 12 hours in the gym (definitely haven't) 😂

feb2022 · 11/08/2021 10:08

@Jellybean023 ohh good luck with your scan today ☺️

feb220222 · 11/08/2021 10:30

Just for anyone still worried about the vaccine, I had my first one when I was around 5 weeks pregnant but didn’t know at that point, and had my second yesterday (12 + 3) following my scan, so far just got a sore arm no other side effects.

overtherainbo · 11/08/2021 11:18

I've started spotting. 14 weeks yesterday. Absolutely beside myself. I've rang EPAU who transferred me to the maternity assessment. They've told me to go straight in, partners on his way home now to take me and look after the kids😓

feb2022 · 11/08/2021 11:23

@overtherainbo I remember I started spotting around the same time with both of the boys.. between 12-14 weeks and went for a scan everything was ok, apparently when the placenta takes over it can cause irritation and spotting so hopefully that's what it is!
😘

Winterfellismyhome · 11/08/2021 11:28

Hope everything is okay @overtherainbo Thanks

overtherainbo · 11/08/2021 12:34

Thank you @feb2022 @Winterfellismyhome

They said my cervix is irritated due to a recent case of thrush (diagnosed and treated 2 weeks ago)

She didn't offer a examination or scan. Just said she looked through my notes and is putting it down to that, she said to wear a pad and keep a eye on it over night 😓

StephanieJ · 11/08/2021 13:50

Had my 12 week scan and all good, took them ages as the little bugger wouldn't get in any positions they wanted haha. I was born with a hole in my heart so consultant has said at 20/22 weeks I'll need to go and have a scan that's basically just checking the baby's heart. Has anyone had this? Also, they've dated me 11+2, would you book your 2nd covid jab now or wait?

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 11/08/2021 14:20

@overtherainbo that sounds very stressful, hope you're okay now. Blood is always scary to see, I've had it a couple times this pregnancy.

@StephanieJ that's great on the scan! Haven't been offered this but am having a private scan at 23 weeks as was told this is the best time to spot any anomalies. I've got my jab on Saturday, and planning to preemptively take paracetamol so I don't get a fever! Funnily enough they were funny about me booking it when I rang up, wanted to know if I'd had advice- had to make sure they've someone who can sign off it being done on pregnant people or something 🤷‍♀️ I had better actually get it, it's a 30 minute walk away!!

becarefuloutthere · 11/08/2021 14:57

Had my 12 week scan this morning but no pics and gotta go bk next week as my bladder wasn't full enough despite multiple attempts and walking, eating, drinking. Did see and hear heartbeat so that was good but no measurements done and have come away quite deflated and not the day I wanted. We were there two hours in the end, I was sick during this time too and I just felt it was a massive anti climax but I'm looking at the positives now! He said there was two arms and legs and one head lol so at least all does seem well!
@StephanieJ glad yours went well! I've still not booked my second, prob won't until 15 weeks now as we're away week after next.
@overtherainbo glad all seems ok now, hope you're ok.

MgW1 · 11/08/2021 15:55

@becarefuloutthere
Did they not offer internal scan? I had internal due to same prob.

WinsAndNeedles · 11/08/2021 16:25

I've had the most awful day, which hopefully is getting much better.

We'd just dropped the kids with my mom and we're driving into town to buy some maternity clothes when we pulled up at some traffic lights and I felt a gush. It was bright red bloody and it was indeed gushing. We were only 5 mins drive away from the hospital so DH drove straight there, pulled up, ran into maternity and shouted for help.

2 midwives with towels and a wheelchair came running out and scooped me out of the car and into triage.

I lost nearly a pint of bloody, was checked by the Reg and my cervix was still closed. They transferred me to gynaecology because I'm too early for maternity, I'm 13+3.

So now I'm in Gyn and they've scanned me and baby looks fine and there's no sign of bleeding or any other problems. I'm absolutely wiped out and confused but so so happy that I'm still pregnant.

Hoping they will discharge me soon. What a day!

becarefuloutthere · 11/08/2021 17:53

@MgW1 nope, I wonder if it was because he was male that he didn't or couldn't. Done now so just gotta be patient yet again 🙄
@WinsAndNeedles wow what a day indeed! What a fright but so glad you were close to the hospital and all looked ok in the end. Hope you get to go home soon!

Trinacham · 11/08/2021 18:00

@WinsAndNeedles oh, I feel for you! That must have been scary.
I had a big gush (not as much as a pint) at 8 weeks which happened when I was asleep. It scared me so much that I fainted. Like you, no idea why I had a gush (wasn't the first time I bled either). You never expect these things to happen before pregnancy, do you. What a relief that baby looks fine.

ChaiTRex · 11/08/2021 18:13

@WinsAndNeedles you poor thing! I’m so glad everything alright ❤️

MgW1 · 11/08/2021 20:12

@becarefuloutthere
Yes possibly well main thing is its growing and heart beat so im sure all is fine , will you have a private scan or just wait for 20 weeks ?

Mamaux · 11/08/2021 21:36

Oh gosh! I'm glad all is looking OK for you both. It must be a day for it. I ended up with a UTI but GP couldn't find heartbeat on a doppler so had an emergency scan at the EPU. All was well thank goodness after getting myself into a right state x

ButFirstTea · 11/08/2021 22:30

Hey everyone, first time posting on one of these threads so hello! I'm due 18th Feb, had our dating scan on Monday at 12+3, all looking good so far!

We told our parents and siblings last weekend but not sure when to tell other friends and wider family. Anyone else keeping it quiet for a little while longer?
