@ChaiTRex my birthday is 16th Feb, can be a bit annoying trying to get a restaurantbooking that week, and very difficult to find flowers other than roses!!
My due date is 20th. I'm hoping to go early & sneak in b4 my birthday. Also got my 4th attempt at a wedding reception booked for next march so the longer between birth & party the better!! I didn't time that v well as this wee bean has been years in the making I'm NOT rearranging anything just yet!

Twelvetimestwo · 09/07/2021 19:02

@Peachi82

So good to read all the positive news today!

Can't wait for my scan on Thursday and hoping the bean has done some growing. Very scared of a MA :-(
Very frowned upon on mumsnet, but I ordered a fetal doppler yesterday. I'm planning on using it until I can feel movements. I remember that with my son I felt quite left alone between the 12 weeks scan and the 20 weeks scan. It's still too early to be seen on an urgent basis and you don't really feel the baby yet. It's a weird time.

I'm scared of those things tbh..
ChaiTRex · 09/07/2021 19:16

@CNizzle I can imagine it’s tough! I’m in the US and my birthday is July 5, right after our Independence Day. Everyone is always out of town, ugh.

Best of luck to you with getting baby scheduled early!
We rescheduled our reception for June of 2022 so I’m in the same boat… but very happy that there will be even more to celebrate 🎉

LKB89 · 09/07/2021 19:17

@Peachi82 what is one of those, and why is it frowned upon?

I'll have a google 😝 c

Trinacham · 09/07/2021 20:08

There are already 3 family members (2 are very much extended family but 1 is my sister!) with February 11th birthdays. I'm wondering if I'll go overdue and it'll join the 11th club! Although I'm likely to get GD with my family history of it so probably have to be induced early instead.

Peachi82 · 09/07/2021 20:10

LKB89
You can listen to baby's heartbeat. Obviously they are below the quality a midwife has.
They are frowned upon because there were incidents of stillbirths where mothers didn't go to their pregnancy unit as they relied on the heartbeat despite having reduced movements. As a non professional it is probably hard to distinguish and tell whether the baby is in distress, so I would not use it in later pregnancy.
However, we all know how hard it is to get some reassurance in early pregnancy, it's not that we can turn up for a scan tomorrow if we are concerned.

I didn't have one of these with my son. If I find it is distressing me too much as obviously when the baby is so little it is sheer luck when you find the heartbeat, then I get rid of it again. And obviously won't use it after I feel movements.

feb2022 · 09/07/2021 20:37

@Peachi82 I've used a Doppler with both my pregnancies, I found it both times around 9/10 week's although it did take me ages to find it,
but I did find it very reassuring in between 12 weeks and around 16 weeks until I could feel some movement

WinsAndNeedles · 09/07/2021 20:57

Congrats @LKB89 and @Trinacham , lovely news.

@CyberGhost there must be something in the water 😂 I'm going to get up in the loft for a rummage next week. I hope there's something up there but I don't think there is.

I'm still waiting to hear from my midwife. I've done the self referral twice, I've emailed and called and I've got diddly squat back. Surely they know that pregnancies are time sensitive. I'm an older mom, I don't want to miss the NT window!

feb2022 · 10/07/2021 14:00

How is everyone feeling today??
I'm still really sick, drinking full sugar cola is the only thing that is taking the edge off, I can taste the sweeteners in the diet one, if I keep this up I'm gonna have no teeth and I'll be the size of a large caravan 😅

Jane7891 · 10/07/2021 14:31

@feb2022 I feel like all I do at the minute is eat 😂 it’s the old thing that stops me feeling sick! My stomach feels empty all the time.

feb2022 · 10/07/2021 14:50

@Jane7891 it's bloody horrible isn't it 😂😂 I'm hoping it goes soon, it's food smells that are turning my stomach, and strong perfume smells, I (stupidly) sprayed a room spray around the house today and then had to sit in the garden until it had evaporated it was sooo strong 😅

Lcj80 · 10/07/2021 14:53

I’m not feeling/being sick at the minute which is adding to my worries, especially as I had hyperemesis in my last 3 pregnancies 🥺 I’m almost wishing for some nausea/sickness just to feel a bit more reassured. Thursday and Friday my bleeding finally started to settle down and was more brown but then at lunchtime today is became fresh red again. So fed up, it’s been 12 days now 😨 Not supposed to have another scan until Thursday 22nd when il be 9+2 but I can see me caving in and going for a private reassurance scan beforehand as I’m just feeling so worried about everything. @LKB89 so glad all was ok on your scan, such a relief! Xx

LKB89 · 10/07/2021 14:58

Honestly feel your pain, really is so scary @Lcj80

I felt so reassured yesterday seeing the little flickering heartbeat, then started to google why the dates could be a week behind and was met by some daunting reasons 😭 wish I hadn't.

I'm still spotting today and a lot more, still brown, but I actually felt it come out of me, so I'm wearing a pad today.
Just don't understand 😢

Just get one booked to settle your nerves, I'm definitely going to xx

WinsAndNeedles · 10/07/2021 15:14

I've had stomach cramps all night and woke up with an almighty headache this morning. DS was sick after football training this morning to trying to reassure myself that I've got a bit of what he's got but I'm not sure.

I usually eat a carb free diet but I'm having to eat all the carbs to keep sickness at bay. I've bloated up to the size of a house already!

Peachi82 · 10/07/2021 15:20

Not having a good day.
I had my vaccine yesterday and was up every two hours last night. Then in the morning I started spewing. I have so much headache and I'm so tired. Don't know what is pregnancy related and what is due to the vaccine.

WinsAndNeedles · 10/07/2021 15:30

@Peachi82 I was like that after my first jab. It was bloody awful but only lasted until 36 hours after my jab. I hope it is just the jab. Fx you feel better soon.

I think the sonographer is going to think I’m crazy if she sees me turn up again 🙈🙈🙈🙈 don’t think I can cope with another 11 days of torment though so I probably will, unless my symptoms miraculously ramp up. Brown blood is good! I was so relieved to have brown blood the last 2 days, could have cried with relief! Then earlier I just felt some loss and my heart sank again as it was bright red. Just don’t know what to think. Part of me is trying to detach from the pregnancy a little as everything that’s happened this past couple of weeks does not indicate a positive outcome, but then it’s so bloody depressing thinking like this all of time! Just scared to feel positive xx
miniGmummy · 10/07/2021 16:30

12 week scan on Monday, FTM nervous and excited. Pregnant with our little miracle after suffering with PCOS. Had a couple of scares the last couple of weeks but had a couple of scans and fingers crossed little one is doing okay.

Boobs are sooooo painful I want to cry taking off my bra!
Sickness has reduced thankfully, hello hot flushes and constant tiredness!
Bless my poor husband, he doesn't know if he's coming or going!

Winterfellismyhome · 11/07/2021 07:53

Baby is the size of a lego minifigure today Grin

Awww! How far along are you Winterfell?

Still battling with the post jab headache. It moved to my right temple and my right eye now. If not gone by tomorrow I'll give the GP a ring. Paracetamol doesn't really cut it.

Winterfellismyhome · 11/07/2021 08:03

10 weeks today @Peachi82 you?

OP posts:
Peachi82 · 11/07/2021 08:16

Around 8. Embryo measured a bit small on the early scan.

Lcj80 · 11/07/2021 08:31

7+6 today according to last scan x

WinsAndNeedles · 11/07/2021 08:45

Can you die of trapped wind? I'm fairly sure I'm dying!

Jane7891 · 11/07/2021 09:08

@WinsAndNeedles 😂😂 I’m with you on this. And the bloat!! I’m living in leggings and joggers because it’s too painful to sit in a pair of jeans 🤦‍♀️
