Thought I'd start a new thread for us expecting March 2022!

Congratulations!!

I'm 4+2 with my first, conceived via IVF. I have endo & adeno so pretty nervous. Have told hubby & my sis so far but it's hard keeping the excitement in! It's been a long TTC journey over the last 5 years...

Hope everyone is feeling well in these early days xx

@L0uL0u79 I'm also 5 weeks and due 20th March! This is number 2 for me, DS is 13 months.

I don't have any symptoms yet but they didn't start until 6 weeks last time so I'm enjoying feeling fine whilst I can!

The bloat however, I can relate to 🙈 I feel huge, and not just my belly! Don't think this heat is helping either x

Hey ladies

Got my positive test today on a CB digital. It's saying 1-2 weeks and my last period was the 19th June so the expected DD is 26th March. We have an 8 year old daughter so it's been ages. Do I call the doctors or ask to speak to a midwife at the GP? Thank you xx

Cuwins · 18/07/2021 21:06

@Nickynoo88 it depends on your area- my area is an online self referral form, others seem to have to call or call their GP. I expect your GP or local hospital website will have the details on there.

Nickynoo88 · 18/07/2021 21:21

Thank you @Cuwins will give the GP a call tomorrow xx

Panicking a little this eve! I felt discharge coming out so popped to the loo and saw quite a lot of what I can only describe as a creamy beige/tan coloured discharge when I wiped. It’s not brown and hasn’t got any streaks of blood in it but there’s quite a bit of it and is slightly clumpy. Has anyone ever had this before? I’m really worrying that it’s something bad and can’t find anything when I Google it

Shakira1111 · 18/07/2021 22:56

Hi ladies wanted to jump on the train. Congratulations each & every one of you I pray for all healthy pregnancies & labours. I have found out this week I am pregnant again for the 3rd time since April miscarriages with two. I have literally fell pregnant straight away so my body is really trying. Both miscarriages were very very early maybe 3/4 weeks. I'm terrified but trying to think positive. My symptom are already through the roof. Started off with headaches & tiredness. Then the metallic taste & cramping started. I can almost always smell & taste when I'm pregnant. My last period was 23rd June. Took early response which was dark. Took a digital said 1-2 weeks done one again the next day & it was 2-3 weeks so all confusing but it's all good signs so far x

Ok could be implantation bleeding or your cervix has been irritated by something. Brown discharge means it's not new blood. I had this with DD and she's now nearly three.

However you can call your EPU if your concerned to get it checked out ! Try not to panic !!

Equimum · 19/07/2021 09:26

Welcome and congratulations to everyone who has joined.

Milly238 I had something like that with my eldest. I was completely panicked, but the EPU reassured me it sounded completely normally, and sun it was either implantation or a bit of cervical erosion (both harmless). My son is now a very healthy 8 year old, and the pregnancy with him was straightforward from that point forward. As others have said, though, if you are worried, give your GP or EPU a call.

PaperFleur · 19/07/2021 12:09

Has anyone else had cramping overnight? I've been woken up a couple of times recently with cramps - if I get up and move around then they ease off, and popping a cold flannel on my stomach also helps (plus lovely in this heat!). Just a tip in case anyone else is having similar issues.
@Milly238 - how's it going today? I had the same thing happen at 4 weeks, but it hasn't come back and my other symptoms have continued (I'm 5+3 now) so it seems to be ok. Hope the same for you too! But I know what you mean about googling, frantically trying to describe the exact colour and type of discharge to get some kind of useful search result back! Confused
@MeganChar1 - good luck for your scan tomorrow, I hope all is well, the blood results sound encouraging so fingers crossed for you.

Milly238 · 19/07/2021 12:58

Thank you so much - I feel much better having read what you had to say @Equimum @newomums @PaperFleur ❤️❤️ My discharge is back to being white/clear today but I have hardly any at the moment so will see what this evening brings! I’ve made a GP appointment to talk through it to see if it’s an infection or bleeding. The Googling has been ridiculous on my end and it’s been impossible to find anything about it but glad to hear I’m not the only one to have experienced this strange colour!

Milly238 · 19/07/2021 12:59

Also @PaperFleur my cramping does seem to get worse in the evenings! I think it’s also digestive related too for me

BBB90 · 19/07/2021 18:14

Anyone has any tips for morning sickness which seems to last all day? I feel like crying, nothing is really helping :( tried ginger tee, ginger sweets, eating small portions frequently, getting lots of rest. Any advice would be appreciated!Thank youSmile

Shortmamashortcycles · 19/07/2021 19:34

Oh @BBB90, I'm so sorry to hear you're feeling rough. How many weeks are you?

It sounds like you've tried some of the main ideas. I'd also recommend travel bands / sea bands. Sometimes even if you feel sick, a dry cracker goes down ok and helps to tip the nausea into hunger.

Then just eat whatever you can cope with - if that's takeaway chips then that's fine!

If you're really struggling, tell your GP and really emphasise how crap you feel. Also, remember that every day, your placenta is developing which should start to take the strain off you, reducing the nausea.

I am right in it with you, it truly sucks, but it will end.

Could be the progesterone rising... that can cause ahem cramping and gas ect

Get a pack of ginger biscuits and literally nibble on them near constantly. I had HG with my first and I found that consistently nibbling on something really helped. DO NOT allow yourself to get hungry as that makes it 10 times worse

I had something similar only the other day as I kept sneezing. Had a particularly powerful sneeze and I almost (sorry TMI) let go of a little bit of wee and with it came a bit of brown colour discharge. When I phoned the doctor to check they said it was old blood that's been forced out with the sneeze and not to worry. Only worry about bright red blood and/or severe cramping.
abbs1 · 19/07/2021 20:50

@BBB90 please speak to your gp if you are suffering there are safe medications out there. I had hyperemesis in my last pregnancy and was on 4 different ones including steroids at one point. Baby was all happy and healthy. Definitely eat little and often. Nibble on bland dry things. Dont let yourself get hungy or you will feel horrible and the nausea will be so much worse.
This time round ive been given preventative medication to take to help prevent hyperemesis and its definitely helpful. Please dont suffer in silence. If one gp says no speak to someone else. If your not holding fluids down please see help at hospital if needed. Feel free to join the hyperemesis support page for more help on foods and medications etc.
