Anyone near the end? I'm 37 weeks...

Hi Ladies, I've been getting impatient lately as my energy has dropped and I'm huge! Baby is measuring ahead and I have extra amniotic fluid around the baby. They are talking about induction so I guess its nearly time for me...

Morning everyone.

I was wondering, has anyone else had issues with emptying their bladder? The last few times I’ve been the urine has stopped mid-flow. Sorry if this is tmi! So basically it cuts out abruptly and then if I stand up and sit down again it’ll re-start.

Not sure if this is because the baby has dropped so low he’s pressing on my bladder/tubes...?

I have left a message with my midwife but thought I’d ask here too while I’m waiting for a call back. I’m thinking it’s probably normal, but thought I should double check!

Sounds very normal to me but may be worth getting checked for a UTI just in case. I've not had the same but often need a wee but then can't really go much and end up going every 5 minutes instead so very similar x

Oh great thanks, yes it does sound similar! Maybe I’ve just been lucky so far I haven’t had any issues. I think I’m maybe getting a little nervy now!

Yeah mines more feeling like I'm bursting for a wee but then when I go there's only a trickle comes out. I was checked for UTI but haven't got one, I think it's to do with pressure on bladder. I feel so sore down below the past couple days, sorry it tmi as well! Just feel as though her head could appear at any time the pressure is unbelievable!!

Ohh ok thanks guys 🙂this is making me feel way better. I think it does sound like I’ve just been lucky to avoid it so far... wonder if they might still want to check me for a UTI. We’ll see. Hopefully all this pressure is a good sign 🤞

Will they offer a sweep at your 39 week appointment or not? I am 39+3 tomorrow and don't know what they're going to say at the appointment?

I’m not sure. I had a 38wk and a 40wk. She didn’t offer at 38wks but did at the 40wk. I have heard of people getting them at 38wks though so maybe they will do one for you at 39+3, it doesn’t seem unreasonable? Will you go for it if you can have one?

Well I think this is supposed to be my 40wk appointment but they mustn't have had any slots for further on in the week. Omg yes yes yes hahahah anything to help shove it in😂 eee I'm just waiting for any of you ladies to come and report an arrival to us haha. Someone must be coming soon surely!!

Haha shove it in - that’s what happened 9 moths ago 🙂 ah good luck if you do get offered one! Hope it works for you. Maybe you’ll be the next on this thread to meet your baby!

I've got my 40 week appointment next Monday - am absolutely accepting a sweep. This baby needs evicting! 😂 I can't see how I can possibly expand any further forwards, my skin feels so tight 😭

Aw thanks ladies I'll let you know how it goes!! Everyone keeps telling me they think ill be overdue as well so I'm not getting my hopes up haha! @MillyJS yeah I will do anything for to speed things on now too!

Don’t know what it is but my patience has gone to 0.
Midwife said she will do a sweep when I’m 38 weeks next week.
And the tiredness Jesus I’m knackered from the moment I open my eyes even after I’ve had a full nights sleep, officially done and pissed off so god knows how you ladies later than me are feeling!

Hi @Mumoftwo2021 very jealous that you get a sweep at 38 weeks and I have to wait another week to take me to 40+3! Hope it works for you though - there is no tiredness like pregnancy tiredness is there! Do you also have a little one keeping you busy (judging by your name being mum of two)?

I'm just feeling restless and uncomfortable ('lightening crotch' has returned 😩) x

@Ctvyh7h7 aww I bet the wait is dragging! Yes very lucky, unless the midwife is a different one and refuses to do a sweep 😂
Well I have two already! This is my third by my youngest is off school isolating for a week and then they finish so won’t be getting the much needed rest before baby comes 😩

Sounds like baby no 3 could come at any time! Was it the sweep that made your second come early? Yes this is our first (first two-legged baby without fur anyway!😂) x

Had my growth scan today as it looked to have slowed down - I'm 39 weeks & baby's estimated to be 7lbs 9oz. Not surprising as neither me or DH are short, but slightly worrying if I end up going 2 weeks overdue 🙈

Hope you're all getting on ok - I commend anyone who already has children to look after already whilst being this pregnant! I'm finding it difficult to even pick my poor dog's bowl up off the floor 😂

@Ctvyh7h7 hopefully 😂 no didn’t even have a sweep with my second but he was very small only 5lbs so think there may have been a problem with the placenta.
A sweep worked with my first I think I went into labour the day after, that was 10 years ago though 😂😳
I must be mad we also have a cat and a dog 😂

@MillyJS I’ve had growth scans too, I wouldn’t worry too much as they can be out by 1lb or so, as long as baby keeps growing then that’s good x

Baby girl arrived this morning at 6.30am after 8 h of labour ( waters broke at 10pm).

Three way second degree tear (up, sides and back) but other than that no complaints.

@Mumoftwo2021 you have your hands full! Have you started maternity leave yet? I haven't been told to do a birth plan actually, but a couple of nights ago when I thought things were happening (they werent) I thought I should write down what I want in case I'm in too much of a state to tell the midwives what I want when I'm in labour 😂 have you got a plan sorted yet? X

@mumoftwo2021 I'm 37 weeks also and miserable as hell. I'm not sleeping well turning over is hell I'm dropping DP to the station for a 6am train still also then have to come back and get ready for school run. I need at least 2 naps a day 😂. I've decided due to rising covid rates at my daughters secondary school to keep her home after tomorrow and let her home school.... Wish me luck. Sweep next Tuesday so keep thinking I should be being super productive if this is my last pre baby week but I'm not. I sit on the sofa all day with the dog then moan I'm bored. I took him to the park yest and after one lap the lightening crotch and pain in my hips was intense so was back home again after 30 minutes!
