Hi Ladies, I've been getting impatient lately as my energy has dropped and I'm huge! Baby is measuring ahead and I have extra amniotic fluid around the baby. They are talking about induction so I guess its nearly time for me...

Anybody else? X

Hey just saw this thread. I’m 41+5 and currently in hospital on 2nd night of induction. Things are moving slowly but should be near end though baby seems content to stay.

@MimiDaisy11 Hi and wow your well on your way then. Are you having the pesseries? When I was induced the second night I got to 1.5cm just about enough to break my waters as my body was moving pretty slowly too, went fast after waters broke though. Hope all goes well for you and you have your little love soon! X

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE Goodluck for your scan today, I hope baby is a nice weight for you you could always ask for a sweep today? They might be able to fit 2 in before your induction date 🤞

@Tvscreen I've been doing perineal massage - i do it every other day. I find if I do it any less often than that then it's like going back to square one. It's horrible though - i call it perineal torture!

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE good luck for your growth scan today 😊 my next one is on Thursday and I'm expecting him to be close to 10lb by then. Have a consultant appointment straight after and hoping to get a sweep prior to induction which is booked for a week today.

How are we all doing? My sweep is booked for tomorrow but i started having a bit of a show last night!

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE oo a show, let's hope things are starting for you and if not that sweep might kick things off. How exciting!

I've just had another growth scan im 37+4 and measuring 42 weeks just waiting to hear what they have to say now, hoping my bp had stabilised at least with being on medication now.

According to google you cant have a show unless you are atleast starting to dialate which is how its different to your plug which can be lost and regrow weeks in advance so i am hopeful!

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE I really hope this is it for you my friend had a show and contractions started that evening. She was bouncing on her ball all day, she thinks it got things going.

Thank you all Came home this morning. She was just 5 pound 6 onces but that felt big enough in the delivery suite! She's stable now although been warned may need to go back in if she doesn't progress well in certain ways.
.Biggest tip is keeping moving. I made them attach a trace whilst I was stood up so could lean over bed or bounce on ball. They asked me to get on my back loads but when I said no there were almost always other options.

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE ooh I hope things are getting going for you! I have backache and frequent BM and some vomiting this morning so hoping those are signs that things are going to be favourable for my induction on Monday 🤞🤞🤞
@Flittingaboutagain that's great that you're back home. My twins were both just under 5lb and so teeny tiny I was afraid of breaking them. They're now strapping 2yo toddlers 😁

Hey everyone! Hope it’s ok for me to join. I’m 38wks tomorrow with my 1st baby - a little boy. Not doing too badly although like everyone else fed up of feeling like a beached walrus haha. Hoping things get moving by themselves soon but thinking it’s more likely I still have a while to wait.

@Tvscreen any luck with the colostrum harvesting? I have been trying but nothing except a few teeny droplets. Literally 2 of them in about 5 days. Not sure whether to keep going with it.

@Flittingaboutagain aw so small and precious, glad you had an alright time and both doing well. I know what you mean last time I got induced they made me stay on the bed it was awful whilst having back labour, thankfully got the epidural but hoping I can manage without this time. Although I am certainly not against them

@BlackberrySt well done for making it to 38 weeks, I'm just about there and already had enough, strong braxton hicks every day are killing my back! How lovely your having your first thats so exciting I bet its dragging for you now.

I got my induction date today for next Friday 2nd July. I'll be 39 weeks so I'm happy that with the huge size of him and my high bp they are at least letting me go that far. Excited but still hoping I might go before then. I'm also aparently 1/5th engaged but I'm still confused if this is good or bad lol.

@Olivebranch26 yup definitely dragging and it’s weird not knowing if he’ll be here tomorrow (unlikely) or in 3 wks.

Yes I had pessaries, tablets inserted and balloon but it didn’t work out and I had to have emergency c-section, but I guess that’s all forgotten now as I have a lovely boy.

Yes it was my first birth which I guess is usually the most stubborn one.
Hope things are going well with you.

Having my ELCS today, so surreal that I get to meet my baby boy in hopefully a few hours! 😬
