Hello everyone - first time pregnant first time on mumsnet. Having an 8 week scan this week, baby due mid Feb. Sending my best best hopes to everyone Flowers especially those with nerves, cramps, bleeding or sad news. Its such a rollercoaster of emotions at the moment - I'm not sure how I will cope with 7 more months of this!!

Rua90 · 05/07/2021 17:44

Hi, I’m due in February too 🥰 haven’t told anyone yet apart from my partner as my family are in Ireland and I’m a worrier but so glad to be able to share it here! This is my first pregnancy and so far it’s not what I expected 😅 no one told me about the complete appetite loss! No morning sickness yet just lots of mini vomits and heartburn! Bursting to tell people 😅 I had slight bleeding at 6 weeks and a scan so got to see the heartbeat which was amazing ❤️ Have my booking appointment on Monday and another scan, nervous as I work for the local NHS trust and it will be hard to explain why I’m there on my day off 😅 xx

Mummysausage36 · 06/07/2021 07:22

Thank you everyone. I have a scan booked for tomorrow the bleeding got a bit worse and I had a few clots Sad but it's eased off a bit now and so have the cramps so I don't know if maybe I've passed the baby? I suppose I will find out tomorrow. Best wishes for everyone.

KM11 · 06/07/2021 07:40

Had my scan yesterday, all is good, baby in right place and saw its tiny heart fluttering 😍 so all with cramping try not to worry too much. 6+2 today and my morning sickness has truly arrived 🤮 only its all day 🙈 sending lots of love to all worrying xxx

overtherainbo · 06/07/2021 08:17

@km11 could you ask for anti-sickness? I told my midwife I'm nauseous a lot and she's prescribed me anti-sickness☺️

Jane7891 · 06/07/2021 08:50

Morning ladies. I haven’t posted on here for a week so I’m just catching up! Sorry to hear about those with bleeding and cramps, I hope everything turns out fine 🤞. I had severe cramps last week but it seems to have tailed off now. But my goodness, the nausea is awful. I find if I can wake up slowly and stay in bed for an extra 30mins it’s not as bad, but otherwise I feel like I’m on a Rocky boat all the time and it throws me off for the rest of the day.

I have my first antenatal appointment in a couple of weeks so I’m looking forward to that, no scan booked in yet.

vmfwh · 06/07/2021 10:07

@Mummysausage36 good luck for tomorrow's scan! Try not to think of the worst...I've been bleeding quite bad for over a week now (no clots though) and the scans still showed there is a sac and little heartbeat so please stay positive! Hoping for the best xx

@KM11 so glad the scan went well! It's such a relief to hear the heart beat isn't it? Like a milestone has been crossed!

Did you always have nausea since the early weeks or did it just start this week? I'm 6+1 today (as per the scan) and I had zero morning sickness till yesterday. Today is absolutely horrendous! I cannot even think about food without the nausea kicking in let alone eat any. Feeding my 1 year old and preparing his solids is torture today.

Is it normal for this to happen in week 7? I always assumed nausea/HG kicked in the first few weeks...never had any with my first either. Here's hoping today is a once off and not the start of a long nauseous road ahead 🙈🤞🏻

Jane7891 · 06/07/2021 10:25

@vmfwh my nausea stated in week 7, I’m in week 8 now and it’s definitely ramped up a notch. Usually once I’ve had something to eat I start feeling abit better but I just can’t stomach anything this morning. I can’t even face the washing up 😂

CNMP · 06/07/2021 10:29

Hi ladies,

Hope you are all well. I thought I’d update from Sunday. My brown discharge has completely stopped ahead of my scan on Thursday.

Certainly feeling more positive about my scan. My symptoms have been very up and down with nausea being any time of the day 🤦🏼‍♀️ otherwise I can’t stop looking online at baby stuff already! Just hoping Thursday goes well!

Sending positive thoughts to all those that are bleeding and cramping! ❤️ Xxx

miniGmummy · 06/07/2021 11:03

@Mummysausage36 I hope your scan goes well tomorrow, I have also been suffering from bleeding and some clots, all is not lost yet xx

miniGmummy · 06/07/2021 11:04

@CNMP that is fantastic news

vmfwh · 06/07/2021 11:11

@Jane7891 oh wow! Sounds like I am going through just that then! It really is quite all of a sudden so taken me by surprise as I honestly thought I was out the woods. I'm trying to have a cracker or something carby every hour or two to help but literally forcing myself! I had a day or two of nausea in my 4th week with my first baby but it was nowhere near as bad as this! I really hope this isn't going to last long...nausea and 52 degree heat is absolutely horrific!

@CNMP so glad to hear the discharge has stopped! That's great news and I'm sure everything will go well at the scan :)

Peachi82 · 06/07/2021 12:01

With my son I was literally sick every day from 8 weeks until he was born. Midwife shrugged it off and I was too weak to ask for more help. I started with a normal weight into the pregnancy and did weigh less in the end (bump and all) :-( This has led to quite a bit of a weight gain after birth, just because my body was clinging onto every nutrient it could get. I'm still struggling with this :-(

This time the nausea has started a lot earlier, but so far no puking. I hope I'll be spared the weeks and weeks of absolute hell. And if it comes again to this I'll insist on getting help, because I need to look after my son as well.

vmfwh · 06/07/2021 13:21

@Peachi82 oh wow, that sounds absolutely horrific what you went through! I had really bad acid reflux from about half way through the second trimester all the way to the end the last time. It was so bad I had to ask for medication because there was no way I could eat or drink anything without stomach acid coming back up in seconds. Although, despite all that, I managed to put on a whopping 20kg by the end of my pregnancy! Went from a size 10 to 18. Took me very very long to lose just half of it and now I'm pregnant again so I know what you mean 🤣

I didn't start showing till about the 15th week in my first pregnancy but I'm carrying a prominent little bump already and I've only just started week 7. Have you started showing early this time around as well? We haven't told our family or friends yet because of the threatened miscarriage situation I'm having, and were hoping to wait till after the 12 week scan, but not sure I'll be able to hide it much longer at this rate!!

I'm not throwing up either today (yet!) but yea if you do start, I think to avoid the depletion of nutrients again and to make life easier for you, try asking for something that might help you...7-8 months is a long time to be nauseous!! I feel your pain...I've got a 1 year old to look after too in the midst of all these issues xx

Skybooks · 06/07/2021 15:41

Anyone needing to eat little and often, I cant stomach a big meal but get sudden hunger/nausea that only subsides with a snack.

I'm also really struggling to drink enough Sad

Lcj80 · 06/07/2021 17:15

Hi everyone! So after my suboptimal hCG levels last week and the fact I’m still bleeding (8 days now) the dr called me and brought forward my scan from Thursday to today. Positives are the pregnancy is still viable, heart beating away, 7+1 so grown exactly as it should have since the last scan. Negatives are that I’m still bleeding and the sonographer mentioned the gestational sac looks small 😭😭😭 She hasn’t included a measurement for the sac, only the CRL of the baby which is 10.5mm. I’m literally scouring the internet for positive outcomes for small sacs but they are very few 😢 apparently 80-90% end in miscarriage. I’m sat waiting to see the doctor now to make a plan as they are in handover at the minute x

overtherainbo · 06/07/2021 18:09

@Lcj80 I had a scan at 7+1 and my baby measured 9.9mm. I hope you have a good outcome with plenty of reassurance 🙏🏼🤍

Sunshine8888 · 06/07/2021 21:37

@Skybooks yes this is exactly what I’m feeling too! I’m waking up in the night needing to pee and snack on biscuits 🙈

I’m 9 weeks tomorrow and the boob pain is a whole new level of ouch! I have a scan next week at 10 weeks to check baby has grown as it should, CRL was measuring 11.4mm at 7+3

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 06/07/2021 21:45

@Lcj80 good luck I hope it goes okay when you get to see the medical staff this evening. Very stressful. Big hugs x

WinsAndNeedles · 06/07/2021 23:05

Hi Preggos! Can I join? This is my 3rd pg. It has come as a bit of a surprise but we are very happy! I'm 37yo and thought I was starting my menopause as my cycles have been all over the place. So I'm not sure on dates but by LMP I'm due 22/2/22 (which is amazing!) but I'm likely to be a bit further on than that judging by what my tests said.

Looking forward to taking this journey with you.

vmfwh · 07/07/2021 04:36

Thinking of you @Lcj80 and really hoping for the best possible outcome for you xx

Trinacham · 07/07/2021 07:47

Anyone else find themselves with a cold? 🤧 started with a sore throat on Monday. Got showered and ready to go in to work today but DH took one look at me and said don't go in. My sickness record is fantastic so I can afford to be off for a cold. I don't know if it is worse than normal because of being 10 weeks pregnant, or it's just because I can't dose myself up with Lemsip as I usually would. I haven't been nauseous at all yet this pregnancy but the paracetamol came straight back up when i tried to take it - sorry if that triggers anyone!x

overtherainbo · 07/07/2021 08:14

@Trinacham yes, I've had it a while now. Runny stuffy nose, sore throat and ears, itchy eyes and sneezing. I've been told to take antihistamine

Trinacham · 07/07/2021 08:25

@overtherainbo oh, it sucks doesn't it? Just what we need. I'm mainly congested, runny nose, sneezing, body achey, sore throat, no voice - the usual symptoms I get with my colds, thankfully I know it isn't flu. Had that before and definitely don't want that when pregnant - will be getting the flu jab soon I hope.
I'm still spotting so I feel that the rest today will do me good in regards to that too. I seem to spot when I'm more active. Doesn't help that I have a job where I'm always on my feet and bending up and down.

fleur89 · 07/07/2021 08:37

Hi All,

Joining 6+4, first pregnancy. Due ~26 February. Lovely to e-meet you all.

Sending you all best wishes with upcoming check ups and scans, hoping turns out well for everyone during this first trimester.

I'm British living in Hong Kong and am lucky to have access to early scans. Actually I had my first scan at 4 weeks, just a sac. I was offered this during my first appointment to confirm the pregnancy and tbh anything that calms my nerves really helps so I accepted!

Today I had my second scan at 6+4 and saw the heartbeat, I almost cried with happiness! So far so good but a bit of a wait now until my next scan around the 10 week mark so need to distract myself to keep anxiety at bay.

Fell pregnant first month trying, knew within days of conceiving that I was pregnant. Just some kind of intuition I guess. Was testing a week before my period was due and slowly saw the line darkening.

Bit scary going through all this so far from home. Covid is driving me crazy and I feel rather alone, also I feel for me it's too soon to let others besides my partner know.

Tender boobs, on and off nausea and tiredness, on and off appetite loss, bloating basically as soon as I start eating each day....
