@LKB89

I started with some brown spotting last night and still have it this morning, bit more 😢 so scared!

I'm 6 weeks and 4 days, I've been awake since 5am online reading up about it and it seems fairly normal but also can go the other way!

Why can't it just be plain sailing, I have the fear in me all the time!

As long as it's brown and spotting and not a major bleed and there are no clots, you still have good chances of everything being ok, or if something is wrong they can still catch it early on. I would definitely still speak to your doctor because you just want to have that peace of mind everything is ok...
Lcj80 · 01/07/2021 07:56

Gosh this sounds awful, so sorry you are going through this too. Are you based in the UK? The EPAU never did any further investigations into the bleeding, just said some back in 3 weeks!!! Managed to speak to my gp who has agreed to monitor my hCG levels so I’m going for bloods later. He thinks I should have been assessed by gynae to check the cervix etc. I am going to call again when they open shortly and see if there is away way I can go back today for another USS. I’ve bled for 3 days now, fresh red blood and period pain, I feel absolutely drained and my head is all over the place 💔 it sounds like your medical team are being very proactive and I will keep everything crossed for Sunday for you xx

vmfwh · 01/07/2021 08:09

@Lcj80 I'm currently out in Dubai...it's a bit hit and miss with the doctors in general here as well but I have a really good gynae who is super proactive thankfully and the A&E take early pregnancy issues very seriously here too.

You definitely need to have a physical exam done. If the cervical os is opening it means that your body is ready to miscarry but if it is closed then you have a very good chance of the pregnancy carrying on. Hcg levels are important too so definitely get those done. I would also let her know it is red and not brown.

I have read that a lot of people go on to have healthy babies at full term despite the severe bleeding at the start so there is hope for us yet! It can apparently go on for the whole of the first trimester! In the mean time we just need to keep our fingers and toes crossed that the little ones stay in there :)

Please let me know how you get on as well! Xx

SR092 · 01/07/2021 08:09

I had my first one but didn’t know I was pregnant, had it 2 days before my positive test!

Sunshine8888 · 01/07/2021 09:50

For anyone having brown spotting, I had this weeks 6-10 with first baby and all was fine. Sometimes can be due to past cervical treatments , for example I’d had a cervical biopsy which left scarring

Twelvetimestwo · 01/07/2021 11:15

Omg cooking for my son is absolute torture. All I can face js muller corners apparently

CNMP · 01/07/2021 12:10

@Sunshine8888 ah that’s so good to hear! I only had it twice yesterday, and just had a little more now. Certainly not a lot, and I’m sure others wouldn’t notice, just so worrying when you see anything in the early stages.

I did have a internal scan on Monday and I do I wonder if that just caused some irritation maybe?

Twelvetimestwo · 01/07/2021 12:22

Internal scans definitely set some spotting off

Lcj80 · 01/07/2021 12:47

Managed to get an appointment in EPAU at 3pm to check if pregnancy still viable. Barely a glimmer of hope after the amount of bleeding but trying to cling on to something 🙏❤️

marvel728 · 01/07/2021 13:00

I’m trying to be positive but also realistic.. I had a scan on Monday when I should have been 7 weeks from LMP however could only see a sac & nothing else, questioned dates etc & said I was showing as between 4-5 weeks & come back in 2 weeks to see if there has been progression. Sonographer said it is very common people get dates mixed up etc & try not to worry.

Later on that afternoon I had light brown spotting & have been having this on & off since Monday. Last night I wiped & had pink/red blood but that hasn’t progressed since. I wiped before & it looked slightly more stringy discharge.

There is a possibility that I could be 5 weeks & 2 days from ovulation but definitely not any less than this as it wouldn’t be possible to even be pregnant.

I don’t have any cramping with the spotting however feel like my symptoms have tailed off, sore boobs.

Feel like it’s such a long wait until 12th July now to see if there is any progression

Any advice xx

Lcj80 · 01/07/2021 13:12

It’s a torturous wait 😢 how about speaking to your gp about your concerns and see if they will monitor your hCG levels in the mean time? X

marvel728 · 01/07/2021 13:20

I think I am just going to wait it out although it is hard :( & just see if nature takes it course any further. I am keeping a 50/50 mindset I suppose, good luck later xx

Charm23 · 01/07/2021 13:29

@CNMP I had a cyst during my last pregnancy too. They thought the cyst was on my ovary but turned out to be just next to it on my fallopian tube. It never caused me any pain or discomfort but it came with risk of ovarian torision or the cyst bursting so they monitored it throughout my pregnancy. It never went away it just kept slowly growing. I had a vaginal labour and it caused no issue. I continued having scans after my daughter was born to see if the cyst would go away on it's own but it didn't so we decided to get it removed via keyhole surgery which was back in February. Tests on the cyst came back with nothing sinister and I still have both my fallopian tubes so all turned out well. It was a very quick and simple procedure, in and out on the same day and was a fairly easy recovery. Hopefully yours is only small or goes away on it's own though. Mine was 15cm in the end!! I do wonder if another one will grow with this pregnancy or if it was just a one off thing.

@Twelvetimestwo Yeah I've had both of my jabs. My 2nd was 1st June so just before I got pregnant as I'm only 5+3

For anyone worrying about spotting/bleeding - I know it is really hard but try to stay positive and not worry yourselves! I had a lot of bleeding with my last pregnancy throughout my first trimester and I was almost certain I was miscarrying again but all turned out well. My daughter is a happy, healthy 17m old so it's not always bad news!

Charm23 · 01/07/2021 13:30

Sorry that should have said torsion*

Lowkeyloopy · 01/07/2021 14:07

@haidri It should be pretty recognisable if you have it - feeling like your bladder is full and you need to pee but then not being able to go much, maybe stinging/burning when you pee and generally feeling “inflamed” down there and maybe a slight dull ache low down in your pelvis where your bladder is. Only risky if it turns from a bladder infection to a kidney infection I think, which you’ll notice if there is pain in your back I think. But yeh, trust me it’s so annoying and uncomfortable, that if you have one, you’ll usually know pretty quickly!

CNMP · 01/07/2021 14:19

@charm23 oh really! That’s so good to know! When he said cyst I was like whattttt but my mum had the same with me so, I’m not overly concerned and the sonographer wasn’t too worried about it. Just wondered whether that may be what’s causing the brown discharge.

It’s so good to hear positive stories when you’re so worried. I’m just remaining positive. I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have even noticed this if I was waiting for my period 😂 just Sod’s law it happens in that worrying window xxx

LKB89 · 01/07/2021 15:18

@vmfwh @sam433

Seems to have stopped now, I've been for a few wee's and LOTS of knicker checking and it's clear since this later morning.
Even walked round Tesco before and nothing after! Good sign I hope? I am a very 'spotty' person, days and days of it before AF would be due normally.
I have some cramps though but only like mild lower period cramps, seems to come and go! Let's just hope it's beanie getting comfy 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Aww @sam433 it's so daunting, just want to see the heartbeat don't you! Will you get a rescan? Symptoms is deffo a good sign surely, I'm waiting for nausea to hit me, almost want it to know everything is ok! X

overtherainbo · 01/07/2021 15:19

Ahhhh I'm totally panicking. I've had a pink jelly (snot texture). I'm now thinking the absolute worst. I know some ladies are having much worse bleeding but with being told I have a haemorrhage next to baby's sac I feel sick. As if it's a start of things to come 😓

vmfwh · 01/07/2021 15:22

@LKB89 thats is amazing news! Yay! May have just been implantation bleeding then possibly? Such a relief for you :)

@Lcj80 good luck for this afternoon! Really hoping everything goes well and they can help you control the bleeding! Stay positive xx

LKB89 · 01/07/2021 15:38

So many of us in here with spotting/bleeding, we all must be very close in dates too, reckon it's just a normal thing then?? Seems common!
I really hope so!

Lots of love to you all ❤️❤️❤️❤️

overtherainbo · 01/07/2021 15:58

I text my midwife and she's booked me a scan this weekend at our hospital. I'm just so worried with the haemorrhage. I've got back ache and cramping on my knicker line

Lcj80 · 01/07/2021 18:16

I’m back from my scan. Feel like it’s a miracle considering the amount of blood I’ve lost but there was a tiny heartbeat flickering away. Consultant was surprised to find anything there after I’d showed her the photos of the bleeding I’ve had. It’s still a threatened miscarriage as I’m continuing to bleed with no cause seen, however they’ve prescribed me cyclogest (progesterone) pessaries to take for a week and then rescan x

overtherainbo · 01/07/2021 18:43

@Lcj80 good luck with the progesterone. Hopefully it all clears up for you 🤞🏼

Charm23 · 01/07/2021 18:46

@Lcj80 Aww I'm so pleased that you saw the heart beat and I have my fingers crossed that all will be okay x

Peachi82 · 01/07/2021 19:07

I had my early scan today and it's looking all good and as expected.
The consultant dated me back a few days, but I'm not too worried about it as everything is so tiny, so a mm on the screen makes a huge difference.
I am so relieved as I had no embryo in my previous pregnancy and seeing this little fluttering heart today set off so many emotions.
