@TiredAlreadyOhDear I can't get through the day without a nap any more! I'm worse in this pregnancy as its twins but I think I had daily naps with DD as well... im a big nap fan.

We have Luna and Joshua as names for these babies. We really struggled with boys names so DH chose Joshua and I chose Luna. Pros of having twins: you get to name one each 😂

Mummy2O · 21/05/2021 18:42

@PeanutButterFalcon I am currently just above the top of the curves on my chart. I keep panicking about it too, but my midwife seems unconcerned so far. Confused

We are 99% sure we are going to use Idris for our little boy.

Placemarking! X

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 21/05/2021 20:10

@Mummy2O they tend not to be too concerned as long as growth is steady and not jumping from one centile to another

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE Thank you. That is reassuring. Fingers crossed we stick to the same (albeit huge) line then.

PeanutButterFalcon · 21/05/2021 21:28

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE pretty similar size to me and tiny framed. I’m all bump at the moment.

@Lullabymummy17 we said tonight about Luna! It’s a good choice

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 21/05/2021 21:32

@PeanutButterFalcon, how many weeks are you now? I'm 33+5 and have reached the point where the movements are REALLY uncomfortable

Hi everyone, been following the thread but work has kept me busy so rarely commented. Glad to see everyone is doing well! 30 weeks today and due 31st July though consultant mentioned would be induced a week earlier. Baby girl and I've decided on the name Eleanor Grace (Ella for short) stay safe everyone! Not long for us all now x

Bunny2021 · 22/05/2021 09:50

Just having a pity party here after a terrible night sleep. We’re at my mother-in-law’s for the weekend and the bed is so hard that sleeping on my side is so uncomfortable and it’s a double, whereas we have a super king at home. Kept waking up throughout the night and now I have to go and be sociable 😭

Nothing worse than a bad night's sleep then having to be sociable. Could you ask for another duvet to put down as a mattress topper for tonight?
PeanutButterFalcon · 22/05/2021 17:30

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE I’m 33+1. I don’t actually feel a lot of movements. Every now and then a bum pops out. I’ve been checked and the midwives know about it.

pinkgin8 · 22/05/2021 21:40

32 + 2 today!
Feeling really tired this evening. Had a growth scan last week and he's weighing a nice 4.5lb!

Hope everyone is doing well. Feels like this has gone really fast!

Sweetpea12 · 23/05/2021 09:43

Now with 8 weeks to go I feel like I’m panicking a little 😬 everyone I know who was pregnant before me has had or is due to have their babies so it’s hit home I’m next lol is it normal to start being afraid of giving birth? I know what will be will be but I’m now very conscious of the fact I think I won’t be able to stand the pain. Also leaving work two weeks earlier as it’s too physically demanding for me so I’ve extra time to relax and hopefully not overthink it all Hmm

Foxglovesandlilacs · 23/05/2021 09:53

@Sweetpea12 I honestly wouldn’t worry about it. You really don’t k ow how you will deal with the pain until it happens, it’s not comparable to any other kind of pain, probably because of the mental side of it (every contraction brings you closer to your baby).

The best thing to do is just see how it goes, try to stay calm, start off with gas and air (doesn’t do anything for some people, but I ❤️ gas and air 😂) and if you need something stronger then you can have it. You can have an epidural and if it works properly you won’t feel any pain. I think it’s completely normal to be worried about it though, I know I was scared when I was pregnant with my first! X

Sweetpea12 · 23/05/2021 10:17

@Foxglovesandlilacs thank you that really helps 💜 I’ve tried not to think about labour and now it’s just in my head because of so many people I know having their children before me and telling me their labour stories. Gas and air I’m going to try first but keeping my options open to all the available pain relief 😄 it’s the unknown for me that scares me but what will be will be and he has to get here somehow

I remember being a bit nervous with my first but as I got further along, I just got so fed up of being pregnant, I just couldn't wait for the big day to arrive. By the time labour came, despite the pain, it was great to know "this is it. I won't be pregnant much longer". That was a great feeling!
Sweetpea12 · 23/05/2021 14:29

@HumunaHey I haven’t thought of it like that maybe as these last weeks go on I will feel like that too Smile I must say I didn’t enjoy pregnancy until about 18 weeks and from then till now I’ve had lovely moments. Now at 32 weeks my hips are starting to hurt and balance going off a little too along with tiredness hitting so this is like the final hurdle and at the end my little boy 💙

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 23/05/2021 14:33

@Sweetpea12 it’s my first and I’m 32 weeks as well and I’m
Very nervous for the birth too. I’m just trying to think it’s all going to be worth it in. The end and also it has to come out one way or another! It’s the unknown that worry’s me I think xx

MillyJS · 23/05/2021 16:33

@TiredAlreadyOhDear @Sweetpea12 Same here - excited but also feeling really nervous about the unknown of birth. I'm quite an anxious person at the best of times 😬 Hoping excitement takes over soon!

HumunaHey · 23/05/2021 16:39

@Sweetpea12 Yes, my first pregnancy was quite a walk in the park but the end of the third trimester got me (aching hips, huge belly and exhaustion).

Once the moment arrives, I'm sure excitement and adrenaline will
take over.

CoffeeAndCaramel · 23/05/2021 19:44

I think it's really common to feel nervous about labor. I was petrified when pregnant with my first. I've had a another since, now onto number 3 and truth be known, still nervous 🤷‍♀️🤣 your body really does just take over you'll be amazed how well you cope!
In response to names, this is our first boy and we've decided on the name Teddy x

Luckyelephant1 · 23/05/2021 20:03

It's funny I've been pretty anxious throughout this whole pregnancy but strangely not about the labour/birth. I do think about it a lot, but there's strangely not much fear about the pain, I'm more nervous about potential complications and the recovery. Dunno if my mind is somehow protecting me and not allowing me to think about the pain 🤷‍♀️Confused

FirstTimeMummy2021 · 23/05/2021 21:42

I'm not yet at the anxious stage about giving birth, but I am counting down the weeks! I have got quite bad PGP currently and am desperately trying to balance keeping mobile with the level of pain. If anyone has any tips I'm open to them! My pain is predominantly on my pubic bone, and occurs when I go from sitting down to standing. I have no idea how I can make this pain better Sad although have a feeling I may be about to bring forward my maternity leave start date or be signed off sick for a few weeks. When are you all planning to stop work?

Cranberrymama · 23/05/2021 21:57

Hello all,
I hope you don't mind me jumping on this thread but it would be lovely to speak to some other mamas. I am due 6th July so not too long now x

Sweetpea12 · 23/05/2021 22:02

Im not glad that other people feel anxious too but to know it’s normal is a big relief Smile I’m stopping work in two weeks time at 34 weeks. Was originally going to work to 36 weeks but I work in a day nursery and finding it exhausting!
