Been too busy to check the thread for about 10 days and so many more babies!!! Congratulations everyone!!

We have had a rough few weeks, got readmitted to the hospital as baby lost over 16% of birth weight as wasn't feeding properly. They think it's largely down to the trauma from birth and my milk came in really late after emergency CS. Turns out I had a placental abruption which is why I had non stop pain, haemorraged and why babies heart rate was dropping. Feeling extremely grateful that we got to hospital so quickly and taken directly to theatre as sounds like the outcome could have been so much worse for both of us!

Things are looking up this week tho, baby has finally regained his birth weight today at 20 days old and now that he is getting enough food is the most content little boy Smile

Mummy2O · 28/07/2021 21:54

@Gilbertsaurus Glad to hear you are both OK. That must have been a really scary experience.

Pinkroseuk · 29/07/2021 08:18

Just catching up on the last couple days - I've also been booked in for an induction next Wednesday - got two more sweeps booked Friday and Monday too. Would love something to happen naturally now!

The induction sounds far from fun- 52 hours they will try for while being monitored (stuck to the bed I think is what she meant!) then c section if that doesn't work.

Vie8126 · 29/07/2021 09:00

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE ahh yes the monitoring, I've always had that constantly anyway as I've had a previous section so used to being wired up although they did say they now offer wireless monitoring to enable you to keep more mobile not sure if that's the case with an induction.

@Gilbertsaurus that sounds very frightening for you all, I'm glad your boy is on the mend and getting stronger. Can't imagine how scary it was.

@Pinkroseuk good luck with the sweeps everything crossed they start something off.

I'm trying to stay chilled today and get loads done in the hope to start something off - not hopeful!

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 29/07/2021 09:42

Hope everyone's doing okay looking forward to more birth announcements!

I had a manic day of housework yest and then an early night slept rubbish was proper crampy and achey all evening. Got some period style cramps this morning and lost more of my plug so hopefully things moving along. Off to hospital this morn for my covid test ahead of induction tomorrow.

Sending love to all those still waiting and all the new mummies xx

Had a very boring few days, although it was DHs day off yesterday so we took the kids out for the day which was nice.

Woke up a few times in the night due to quite painful tightenings, this morning after a little lie in (thank you DD, what an angel!) my mucus plug has started to come away and the tightening sensation has really ramped up.

I'm trying to get the kids ready without letting on as DD is so excited that she will think the baby is coming right now. But I'm feeling optimistic that this baby get a move on now.

Hope all goes well with your test and induction @Vie8126

Vie8126 · 30/07/2021 10:00

@Warrickdaviesasplates how exciting!!! Everything crossed for you xxx

Sweetpea12 · 30/07/2021 10:39

Hope you ladies are doing well here and can’t wait to hear of more exciting baby arrivals 💕

My little boy is still in hospital with his little stomach problem under investigation but he’s so well looked after. Convinced he thinks he’s on holidays in the little incubator he enjoys it so much

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 30/07/2021 14:30

@Warrickdaviesasplates any progress?

@Sweetpea12 it must be reassuring to see your boy so well cared for!

Well I got my home birth. But it did not go as planned at all!

Contractions ramped up really quickly. My waters went around 12pm. I had to get dd to call DH to come home from work and my mum to come round and get the kids.

By the time my mum got to my house (only ten mins later) the head was out and I was on all fours in the tiny downstairs bathroom.

Dh came crashing through the door about 10 mins later and delivered the baby.

The midwives got there just after and everything is fine. So now we are just all at home relaxing and desperately trying to think of a name for him!

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 30/07/2021 15:10

Yay @Warrickdaviesasplates Flowers congratulation and well done to you dh and dd!

Warrickdaviesasplates · 30/07/2021 16:39

Thank you @THATbasicSNOWFLAKE it was certainly a very dramatic day. My mum has taken the older kids off for a sleepover so that I can relax with the new baby.

It really doesn't feel real at all.

I'm certainly very proud of how well DD and DH coped with it all.

Pinkroseuk · 30/07/2021 17:04

Congratulations @Warrickdaviesasplates

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 30/07/2021 17:14

@Warrickdaviesasplates how old is DD? I'm in awe of you all the situation is my worst nightmare lol

OP posts:
Warrickdaviesasplates · 30/07/2021 17:40

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE she is eight, but luckily has a very mature head on her shoulders. It was my absolute nightmare as well, my plan was for a nice relaxing water birth at home, with no kids!

Two year old DS was here as well, but he was easily distracted my Mickey Mouse clubhouse.

I'm trying to think of a great present for DD, she really kept the entire house together and was so calm and good the entire time. I don't think I could possibly show her how proud and grateful I am for her.

Vie8126 · 30/07/2021 18:33

@Warrickdaviesasplates huge congratulations! My dsis had her second dd like that I just got there in time to help her it's certainly full adrenaline! I hope you are well. Huge well done to your dd too!!xxx

Mummy2O · 30/07/2021 18:46

@Warrickdaviesasplates Congratulations! Your DS certainly knows how to make an entrance. Hope you are OK.

HumunaHey · 31/07/2021 09:06

Wow @Warrickdaviesasplates congratulations! And what a star your DD was. She'll have no problem naming a tine she performed under pressure in interviews when she's olderGrin.

Sweetpea12 · 31/07/2021 12:24

Congratulations @Warrickdaviesasplates and how amazing is your daughter I’m sure you are so proud of her helping like that

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 31/07/2021 14:55

How is your little one doing @Sweetpea12?

OP posts:
Sweetpea12 · 31/07/2021 20:06

My little boy is a bit better he still is waiting to have a biopsy for why his stomach is distending but they are treating him for Hirchsprungs disease so in the event he has it they are already doing what they can. Basically a little problem with his stomach and the ability to keep food down and poo. But he was being line fed and from today he’s allowed some formula so all heading in the right direction hopefully and I’ve my fingers crossed I can take him home soon
