@PeanutButterFalcon it should arrive in the shop this month then we can collect it whenever we want to - thinking mid June then we have a it a good four weeks before.

@MillyJS I’ve got my 32 week scan on Thursday to find out if mine has moved too - I think the majority do move - looking forward to getting to see the baby again though!

My baby’s movements are getting really big now - it’s so surreal I still don’t quite believe there is a baby in there!

MillyJS · 18/05/2021 20:16

@Mylasmummy2102 That's good to hear! Yes I'm excited to see baby again, just a bit sad my husband isn't allowed in too but hopefully they'll let me have a picture.

@TiredAlreadyOhDear Good luck with your scan! Let us know how you get on ☺️

Does anyone else feel like their insides are being used as a serious punch bag? The baby's movements are huge! Also make me jump/wince when they get my bladder 🙈

Foxglovesandlilacs · 18/05/2021 20:25

@MillyJS partners should be allowed in to all scans now, the rules changed yesterday I think. I saw something on pregnant and screwed.

Mylasmummy2102 · 18/05/2021 20:27

@MillyJS my partner was allowed and I have another scan tomorrow due to extra fluid and he's allowed to that I'm really sorry that he can't come in I thought hospitals were relaxing on the restrictions. I got some photos so hopefully you will too. I was also really nervous but it was so good to see baby again 🤞 for you xxx

Luckyelephant1 · 18/05/2021 20:29

I've mentally started packing my hospital bag in the sense I know what I'm taking and where it all is but still have toiletries eg maternity pads etc to buy. Need to get a Tens machine, does anyone have experience of them and are there any differences between different brands or are they all much the same? Might just go for Boots own brand.

I dont think my movements have really got any bigger for a few weeks now? There's definitely a pattern and they are happening but I expected them to get stronger as she grows and they havent. It could be down to having an anterior placenta, my midwife didn't seem too concerned.

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 18/05/2021 20:37

I read the other day that around the 33 week mark is when you basically (should) have more baby than fluid in there which is why movement seem more jabby / big / sharp as there is less to cushion the blows

Can I join?!
I'm 32+3 with twins and due on 9th July although I doubt I will get that far! I already have a little girl aged 4 and she can't wait for the arrival of her new brother and sister.
Totally with you all on the fanny daggers and masses I kicks and punches to the bladder is no fun. Some serious pelvic floor muscles being used to control my bladder at the moment.
My bags are packed and in the car as its recommended for twins to be ready earlier. Hoping to hang in until at least 36 weeks but felt a big drop in my bump yesterday and today so who knows?! Being closely monitored so I'm hoping for no big surprises.

MillyJS · 18/05/2021 21:35

Ah really @Foxglovesandlilacs I'll give them a call and check. It was a definite 'no' when I asked a couple of weeks ago but I'll ask again - thank you!

@Mylasmummy2102 Hope all goes well tomorrow for you! Glad to hear you got pictures ☺️

Warrickdaviesasplates · 18/05/2021 21:49

@Lullabymummy17 wow twins! That's so exciting. Fingers crossed you get to that 36 week mark (and don't get too beaten up by those babies in the mean time)

hkp288 · 18/05/2021 22:12

Hello! I’m 26 and expecting my first baby due 21st July (31 weeks tomorrow).

I noticed a previous poster talking about pelvic pain which is definitely something I’ve been feeling over the last few weeks! As well as bad acid reflux, super itchy feet (cholestitis has been ruled out) and itchy inner thigh stretch marks! Very tired and grumpy these days too haha.

hkp288 · 18/05/2021 22:14

Can anyone recommend great pregnancy pillows? Even better if they can double up as a nursing pillow!

marmilade92 · 19/05/2021 00:32

I tried having a pregnancy pillow but I feel like it's just too big for me. A couple of nights I've ended up stuck on my back sleeping because I got caught up in it and I woke up dizzy. I tried putting some of the pillow under to support the bump but funnily the baby gets very active if I do that, like they're pushing it away. Maybe they feel squashed? At the moment I'm just using a normal pillow between my legs. My bump rests on the bed anyway as I'm usually slightly overrotated than a perfect side-sleeper but not a full front sleeper. And baby seems happy enough with that and the bump feels supported, so if I feel comfy and not sore then that's OK with me.

Anyone else on iron tablets for low iron? I have been extremely tired and faint recently so I'm hoping the iron tablets kick in soon.

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 19/05/2021 06:12

@marmilade92 i'm three weeks in to iron tablets, some days i feel much better other days i feel like death 🤷‍♀️ i sleep like you too! Pregnancy pillow felt like a fucking extra person in my bed, made me hot and got in the way 🤣

@Lullabymummy17, congrats on your twins! One of each means you can buy ALL the nice clothes! Best of both worlds!

Just marking my place . Thanks for the new thread @THATbasicSNOWFLAKE

Nearly 31 weeks now. I feel like everyone is so prepared. We still have the spare room to sort out, which hopefully we can start over the next few weeks. Didn't want to leave eveything till last minute when I'm huge 🙈
Pelvic pain is awful for me! I'm someone who likes to get up and be on the go all the time, so I've realised I do need to take it a bit more chilled, which has helped over the past couple of days.

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 19/05/2021 08:09

One thing i will say is watch how your sitting when resting up due to spd/pgp! Relaxing back onto your sofa too much can add to risk of baby going back to back!

@hkp288 - it's expensive but BBhugme has been an absolute lifesaver. It's not small so if you have a smaller bed, you will definitely notice it - but it doubles for feeding as well. Of all my pregnancy purchases - this is probably the best so far and definitely getting cost per use out of it.

I spent a night away a couple of weeks ago and I didn't take it with me - I was in so much discomfort the next day!

Pinkroseuk · 19/05/2021 09:59

Thanks @THATbasicSNOWFLAKE for the new post
Can't believe how fast the weeks are going now!

wimbler · 19/05/2021 10:11

can I join? i'm due on 29th July with #2.

I also recommend the BBhugme. I've had it since first trimester and it really is very good! It is expensive but can be used as a nursing pillow too which is helpful

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE Have you had a back to back labour before? If so, how was it? I have an anterior placenta and I'm wary baby might be back to back when it's showtime.
THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 19/05/2021 10:39

@HumunaHey, i have had a back to back baby yes (i've also had an anterior placenta before and that baby was not back to back). My back to back labour was extremely painful but relatively quick and straight forward with my back to back baby i had no idea until i was in labour but it has made me wary since of making sure i am not encouraging baby into that position!

@Rainbowhunter89 sorry to jump on your thread. I was having a nosy 🤣 my midwife has offered to try acupuncture for my carpal tunnel. Hoping to get it early next week! Will let you know how it goes! I had it last time too but this time has been worse 🤦🏼‍♀️

Oh that's interesting, so you'll have it done on the NHS then? I'm at midwife again next week so will mention it's still bothering me and doctors have (no doubt) been no help and see what she says then.

HumunaHey · 19/05/2021 11:02

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE Oh interesting you say your back to back was not from the time you had an anterior placenta - I'm very much hoping to have the same fate! I've read anterior placenta can make back to back more likely so I'm working agsinst the odds. I've heard lots about the greater pain with a back to back labour, so much like you, I'm doing all I can to avoid it!

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 19/05/2021 11:05

@HumunaHey i have an anterior placenta this time too, baby was b2b at 28 weeks but not at 31. He has moved back and forth since (now 33). When back to back i find the area around my belly button is softer and flatter

OP posts:
HumunaHey · 19/05/2021 11:33

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE That's the thing, I'm 30 weeks and baby has changed positions many times (as far as I can tell). I know this is perfectly normal but I can't help getting excited when it moves from back to back. I get lost in Youtube videos about getting baby in optimum birthing position. I hope for both our sakes we don't have back to back births!
