@FirstTimeMummy2021 ive been off work for ages as furlough / annual leave etc i start mat leave officially at 37 weeks but i never would have made it that long with my spd/pgp. I am certain i have only managed so well this time due to not being in work, no commute etc. In my last pregnancy i was signed off for the remainder of pregnancy before 25 weeks.

@FirstTimeMummy2021 I feel for you. I'm suffering with pgp too, are you finding physio helpful? I find I need to get up and down regularly as if I'm in the same position for a while it's hell! I hope you sort your Matt leave soon, it's hard when you feel so crap! I started mine at 29 weeks ( didn't intend to) but I've just had a rotten pregnancy, I also have gestational diabetes and my sugars are pretty unpredictable x

FirstTimeMummy2021 · 24/05/2021 07:52

I haven't found physio that helpful, have a support belt and am taking paracetamol (but that doesn't really touch it!) Sorry to hear you're also having a rotten time @coffeeAndCaramel - Some people seem to have a wonderful time in pregnancy, I am not one of them! Most of my colleagues seem to work up til 38/39 weeks and thats just become the normality.
I think I need to chat with my boss today and see what will be best. I'm not sure if I should just admit defeat and start mat leave earlier if I'm struggling or use my annual leave to make my working weeks shorter! So hard to know what will be best for me. I'm trying to think positively about it all, not long to go now and hopefully the pain will ease after baby is here!

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 24/05/2021 08:18

@FirstTimeMummy2021 this is my fifth pregnancy with pgp and each time it has cleared up (mostly) once baby is born, fingers crossed you are like me!

I have always been told if its causing you pain do not do it as you risk making it worse

Is anyone else feeling like they might be nesting? All of a sudden everything in my house feels wrong. I’ve made a list on a shared notes folder with tick boxes on and told DH he needs to get busy on a Sunday Grin and also feeling the need to empty all the cupboards in the kitchen and reorganise them!

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 24/05/2021 14:51

@Foxglovesandlilacs I am so like this - everything feels like it needs cleaning and sorting out! I’ve got so many lists on the go at the moment I think my other half thinks I’ve lost the plot haha 😂

marmilade92 · 24/05/2021 18:48

@Foxglovesandlilacs I feel like I'm starting to nest too. I was exhausted and started iron tablets recently and now that I'm feeling more energetic I just want to clean and wash everything in the house. If there's nothing more the clean or organise here, I start nesting when I go visit my parents and start cleaning their place (which they are grateful for). It just feels so satisfying, it's like a wee hit of dopamine when something's clean and tidy. Can't hoover though that's a bit too much :(

Mummy2O · 24/05/2021 19:28

@foxglovesandlilacs Me too! I keep having mad bouts of it where I get a sudden urge to get this organised and tidied. This is most unlike me. Grin

I am dying to get our nursery sorted now. I feel like the to do list never ends.

PurpleCurtain · 25/05/2021 11:50

Anyone else struggling with their heart rate? I know it's a bit of an old wives tale that it should stay below 140bpm, but I honestly can't make it up the stairs without it reaching at least 150 at the minute, and that's walking slowly! Most times I go upstairs it's about 180bpm. And unfortunately my husband seems to routinely decide to talk to me just as I'm going up the stairs and I forget that that's going to make it even worse! I was pretty fit pre pregnancy too - though not sure it that actually makes a difference.

Pinkroseuk · 25/05/2021 12:01

Just got back from midwife and baby was measuring about 12th percentile - they now think 90th! She double checked too! Any one else had a massive leap in growth ? Smile

Foxglovesandlilacs · 25/05/2021 13:01

@Mummy2O me too! I like a tidy house at the best of times but I feel obsessed with it at the moment. I know it’s because I’m pregnant. I have to make the most of it!

I just got back from 32 weeks growth scan and baby is estimated to be 4lb 10oz. I’m happy with that, most of mine have been high 8s, although had a couple of 9 pounders so could be another big one.I’m so excited to meet him now!

@marmilade92 I decided last night my big food cupboard in the kitchen needs painting in the inside! It’s currently one o clock and I’ve been doing it on and off since then!

PurpleCurtain · 25/05/2021 13:29

@pinkroseuk was this just the midwife measuring you? My assumption was that unless it's a growth scan, it won't necessarily be very accurate, and is very dependent on baby's positioning etc, but I might be wrong!

Luckyelephant1 · 25/05/2021 13:30

@PurpleCurtain these days the better indicator that you're overexerting yourself is if you can't hold a conversation while you're exercising. The 140bpm thing is terrible because everyone will have had a different resting heart rate pre-pregnancy so while 140 may be very high for some, it isn't for others.

Mind you often when I've just come up the stairs and then talk to DH or something I can't believe how out of breath I am...my default has always been to run up the stairs so maybe I finally need to slow down 😂

PurpleCurtain · 25/05/2021 13:31

@foxglovesandlilacs I love this r.e. painting the cupboard Grin I also have a big list of things I'd love to sort (some just as bizarre) but usually not the energy to carry them out! Have got rid of a lot of stuff via ebay / gumtree / charity shop lately though and feeling very proud!

PurpleCurtain · 25/05/2021 14:03

@Luckyelephant1 thanks, trying not to fixate on numbers but I am very much a numbers person naturally...and agreed about default being to run up the stairs! Grin I can't hold a conversation at the top, but my heart rate has already gone nuts by the time I'm at that point! I'm wondering if it's my iron levels actually - I've been taking tablets but only 2 of the 3 prescribed as was overly fearing the black poo!

feistymumma · 25/05/2021 15:10

@Rainbowhunter89

Is anyone else suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome? 33 weeks and want to chop my hands/arms off Sad. Have a telephone consultation with a nurse practitioner on Thursday but Google already tells me there's pretty much nothing they can do. Already have a splint and that makes no difference. Looks like it will be 7 weeks of my other half constantly massaging and icing my chubby hands lol.

Also please tell me I'm not the only one who's knees hurt, pelvis hurts, vagina hurts, back hurts, and can't get comfy because bump now rests on legs. I thought all this would kick in later haha

Thanks for the new thread.

Am with you @Rainbowhunter89 everything hurts and for me it's SPD, hip pain and a stitch on the right side. Am at the hospital as we speak to discuss birth options as I have opted for a caesarean and the consultant wasn't too keen although I've been booked in. This appointment is with their consultant midwife to convince me otherwise :).

feistymumma · 25/05/2021 15:15

@C3PO31

Can I join? I’m 32+3 FTM and technically due on July 10th, however baby is already weighing 5lb with a 97th centile head so he may be arriving in June!

I’ve started the hospital bag and the clothes washing but everything seems to take forever to do now 😂 and I’m forever frustrating DP by having to sit down and rest all the time haha!
Also I’m definitely suffering from that kicked in the foof feeling 😩! x

Hello and welcome. My baby also has a 97th percentile head. Not sure how big he is though
feistymumma · 25/05/2021 15:15

Centile not percentile :)

Pinkroseuk · 25/05/2021 15:21

@PurpleCurtain yes it was. She said it wasn't that accurate either but I do have a scan next week. Think this will be the last one before baby is born though so a lot could still change in those weeks I guess ?

Lullabymummy17 · 25/05/2021 16:32

@PurpleCurtain I'm totally feeling the breathlessness when going up the stairs. My DD says hurry up mummy! Babe, this is as fast as I can go without needing oxygen 😂 I'm not the fittest person to start with so two babies in there hasn't helped!

@Pinkroseuk I'd take the midwifes measurements with a pinch of salt. Don't stress it, you will know more when they scan you. They said DD was going to be big (from scans) and induced at 38+2. She was 6lb 11 so don't be fixated on the numbers. I'm sure your baby will be happy and healthy Flowers

Julybaby2021 · 25/05/2021 20:51

Hi all.. im 33+4 today. I have a really sore stomach & heavy feeling around my lower belly/bump. Have took back pain for the first today aswell. Lastnight after the toilet i had what looked like very sticky/jelly-like discharge.. could it have been part of my mucas plug? Or is this too soon?

TIA xx

Pinkroseuk · 25/05/2021 21:04

Thanks @Lullabymummy17

FirstTimeMummy2021 · 25/05/2021 21:09

@feistymumma Can completely empathise with your pain. I've been to see the chiropractor today and feel some mild relief from my PGP already. Thats all I want to be honest, to be able to walk to the toilet without crying in pain!

I've also asked my midwife to recheck my iron as I've been on tablets since booking and they haven't really done much. My levels haven't dropped but they haven't come up either! She asked me if I had any symptoms of anaemia and I said I was tired and breathless but put this down to just being pregnant. It dawned on me today that I've only got a few weeks realistically before baby could arrive so I'm going to start making the most of our peaceful evenings!

Luckyelephant1 · 25/05/2021 21:35

Anyone else get random lat pain? It's literally around where my bra would sit on my upper back on my left side but extends around the side to my front to my ribs. Often only at night and it makes me feel like I need someone to bend me in half arching forward to release it. Also my ribs feel really bruised even though I never feel kicks that high Hmm assuming it's just everything is now being squashed up around there. So many weird things happening 😂

Mummy2O · 25/05/2021 23:03

Yes! I get weird pain randomly at the top of my hip and along the bottom of my bump randomly.
