@MochaTea we sound like we are having the exact same pregnancy issues! The ECGs twice a week are such a pain! We didn't meet last week after the hour so was going to put me back on again but as I was having a scan with the consultant she saw everything was okay. Yeah I've had some over the hour it's such a pain especially as I have PGP so much hips tend to start hurting after 20 minutes and start going numb.

It would be good if you could let me know what else they tell you to take so I can take the same. Are you going to be BF? I couldn't do it with my last LG and had to express. I have bought a machine as I cant hand express either. I wonder if they have some you can use in the hospital?

I know what you mean about the heart burn and the walking. As soon as I get in bed it starts, gaviscon by the bottle 😂 I'm on crutches for walking so can't really go very far, more than 10-15 minutes is horrendous. I'm ready for these babies to make an appearance!

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 20/05/2021 16:56

@Warrickdaviesasplates thanks I’ve just finished work and going to have a nap.

Yeah they’re not the best but it’s going to get a whole lot worse I guess!!

I think 32 weeks has hit me now I’m starting with aches and pains! Done well to make it so far with no other pains tho so should be thankful I guess!

Luckyelephant1 · 20/05/2021 17:27

For anyone with mildish PGP (as in, you're still able to be fairly mobile) or general aches and pains now we're so far on, I have found swimming to be amazing for alleviating things whereas walking worsens symptoms. It also helps with sleep as I'm always shattered afterwards!

Foxglovesandlilacs · 20/05/2021 17:44

I love hearing how everyone’s getting on. Twins must be so exciting! I always wanted twins!

Has everyone chosen a name yet? I’m finding it hard this time. With all my others I had a name right from the beginning and stuck with it, and I have a few I like but none that I love! I suppose this is just what happens when you have a lot of babies!

Vie8126 · 20/05/2021 18:42

Can I join? I'm 29+5 due 31st July with baby no4 (a boy) after a huge gap as mine are 20, 16 and 12. I am also exhausted being a mum to teens and pregnant the school runs the social lives the worry the late nights the GCSEs and working full time. Having growth scans as I am 40 and worried about size had one two weeks ago at 28 weeks and baby was 2lb 11 so his on track. Feel huge cannot get comfortable feel miserable and unorganised. Just moved house also and that been a whole nightmare which involves a lot more work that first thought! Lots to do and need to get a move on. Been put on two afternoon wfh due to Covid risks (work in a school) and coming into contact with lots of people so hoping from next week can get some rest them afternoons as job is full on rushing all day.

Warrickdaviesasplates · 20/05/2021 19:05

@Foxglovesandlilacs I've got a girls name (Anya) but boys are so difficult! I always had one boys name that I was going to use for a son and never thought to consider any other names, but I had a son last time and used the name so now trying to fins a name I love as much as his is so hard! I'm currently thinking either Heath or Ragnar.

Have you got a shortlist? I can't imagine how tricky it is for you, you must have used quite a few of your favourites with all your other babies.

@Vie8126 wow a 12 year gap between your youngest two! At least you'll be able to trust the bigger ones to look after themselves a bit and you can focus of yourself and the baby. Although I don't want to underestimate how hard parenting teens can be. Are they excited for the new baby? Are they giving you much help?

Warrickdaviesasplates · 20/05/2021 19:07

If anyone is feeling comfortable sharing their baby names or potential names I'd love to hear them! I absolutely love finding out all the different names people use and find it so interesting to see if there's any trends cropping up.

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 20/05/2021 19:12

@Luckyelephant1 I’ve started swimming
Try to do at least once a week and I find it’s really nice to just feel weightless for an hour! Also the lady on reception told me that due to me being pregnant I get 10 swimming sessions free that can be used now or when the baby is here for all types of swimming eg lengths, classes, family swimming....not sure if this is just in my local area with the council or if this applies anywhere else - but worth checking it out I guess!

BewareThePenguins · 21/05/2021 05:02

@Vie8126 welcome to the group! I am due a few days before you and also have 3
Teenagers, 16, 13, 12. I completely understand the exhaustion that comes from juggling pregnancy and teens! Good luck with everything, hopefully the kids will help!

Vie8126 · 21/05/2021 06:18

@Warrickdaviesasplates I know so much has changed and it's like going back to being a first timer again! My oldest doesn't live with me anymore he is self sufficient now but 16 year old has gcses at the moment, job interviews, his moped (argh!) driving test... People keep saying oh you must have forgotten the sleepless nights they don't know what it's like to have a teenager and being on party pick up or trying to stay away to make sure they get home okay from a rave or festival!(oldest pre covid not 16 year old now!)

My two sons (oldest two) aren't that excited my daughter who is 12 was fairly excited but reaching that horrible teenage bit of unless it about her and her friends she isn't really interested! They are obviously self sufficient ish compared to little ones the issues just change.

@BewareThePenguins lovely to meet another mum with teens and a big age gap... How much have things changed in the last 12 years?! Are your teens excited for their new arrival?

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 21/05/2021 06:38

Mine dc are all spread out over the last 13 years. I am obviously insane. I have a teen, a tween, a primary dc, a preschooler and a toddler 😑

OP posts:
Foxglovesandlilacs · 21/05/2021 09:01

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE my oldest is 13 too, but this is my eighth! There’s a 5 year gap between my 5th (7) and 6th (2) but the rest are close together. My older ones love the babies Smile

@Warrickdaviesasplates I like quite classic/old fashioned names. I won’t give you all the kids names as it’s quite outing but my youngest are Mabel and Stanley, and I quite like Sidney, Bruno and Hector.

I just started a thread in the baby names board for inspiration, i still haven’t got one I absolutely love!

Foxglovesandlilacs · 21/05/2021 09:03

@Warrickdaviesasplates Ragnar! My DH loves that name! I love Viking names. I have an Ivor Smile

BewareThePenguins · 21/05/2021 11:35

@Vie8126 my eldest is pretty indifferent or at least he appears to be. But the younger 2 are girls and the middle one especially has a fantastic bond with my bump. Both the girls talk away to it and have their own greetings when they see me. (They spend half their time at their dads). I'm not sure they'll be as interested once there is a child who cries here! Things have definitely changed over the last decade! When I had the kids I was seen as a young mum and now that I'm 36 a lot of people assume I am a first time mum! It makes me smile when they realise I have teens!

Warrickdaviesasplates · 21/05/2021 13:02

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE and @Foxglovesandlilacs you both must have the patience of saints with al those DC to look after!

@Foxglovesandlilacs I love the name Sidney! Tbh Bruno and Hector are nice as well and you don't often hear any of those names at the moment so it's nice that they'd be known names but not one of five in a class. It does sound like you've got pretty cool names for your DC's already!

Dh hates all my name choices but I'm hoping to talk him round to Ragnar, I'm glad your DH likes it at least! I did have Ivor and Bjorn on my list as well but DH took them off. I'm glad I'm not the only one loving a Viking name.

PeanutButterFalcon · 21/05/2021 14:29

I have no idea on names so it’s nice to see everyone’s choices for inspiration.

I’ve had midwife appointment today and I’m measuring big (off the scale big), which isn’t so surprising as everyone’s been commenting how much my stomachs grown. Not loving the idea of giving birth to a big baby though as I’m quite small. Ironic considering I had risk factors for a small baby and now they’re worried about the opposite.

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 21/05/2021 14:32

At the moment our baby will be born nameless - we just can’t really settle on anything. I thought I would just hear a name and love it....but I don’t 😂

We’re toying with

Ivy or Emma for a girl - after either of my grandmas

Or Jesse for boy - I do like it but then worry everyone will slate it and think it’s an awful name!

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 21/05/2021 14:34

@PeanutButterFalcon are they sending you for growth scans then to check? Every time I go to the midwife I panic I’ll be measuring too big/small it’s a constant stress!

Warrickdaviesasplates · 21/05/2021 16:06

@PeanutButterFalcon are you getting extra appointments and growth scans? I was the same as you in my last pregnancy, DS was big and it turned out I had a LOT of fluid around him as well. Luckily he was absolutely fine and nobody could tell me why there was so much fluid etc.

I know it can be such a worry but hopefully it will start a process of extra care for you to put your mind at ease. Remember that you being anxious won't do you any good and insist upon whatever care you feel will reassure you.

@TiredAlreadyOhDear Those names are lovely! I love Jesse and doubt you'd get much negative feed back on it (although some people have very odd ideas on names as proven by the recent "Esme" thread so I suppose you can never tell). Both Ivy and Emma are great names too, are you just going to see what you're feeling when she (if baby is a she) shows up? Xxx

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 21/05/2021 16:13

@Warrickdaviesasplates yeah I think so - I think once we see him/her we will know what he/she looks like.

I do like Ivy Elizabeth though so it might be that for the girl.

Before I was pregnant I had loads of names I liked and then when you actually need to pick some you get more pickyhahaha

I had my first pregnancy nap yesterday - felt so tired so I’m guessing the third trimester is deffo catching upto me now!

PeanutButterFalcon · 21/05/2021 17:10

@TiredAlreadyOhDear I think your options are lovely. I know a Jesse and don’t think he’s ever had any problems with his name.

Having a growth scan ASAP. They said it’ll take a few days for it to be picked up. I was measuring 25th percentile up until 2 weeks ago which was the 50th and now I’m way above so bit of a jump.

@Warrickdaviesasplates thank you it’s nice to hear another story. I’m hoping it’ll be fluid and baby’s happy swimming away inside. If baby is big I think I’ll see if they’ll induce me earlier!

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 21/05/2021 17:36

@PeanutButterFalcon i'm 5ft tall and pre pregnancy a size 8/10. Three of my 5 have been classed as LGA. Each has been bigger than the last with dc5 weighing 9lb1. I am booked in to see the consultant in a couple of weeks to discuss the birth so will see what they say! I have never needed any intervention, or had any stitches!

OP posts:
Warrickdaviesasplates · 21/05/2021 17:37

@PeanutButterFalcon I was told by a consultant that you can be induced early (or on your due date) if the baby is measuring big, but I would make a fuss and insist on it if it's something you want. I didn't make a fuss with DS and just did as I was told which was to keep waiting and I don't think it did me any good so don't be afraid to stand up for yourself like I was.

@TiredAlreadyOhDear Ivy Elizabeth is a beautiful name! I always found naming babies to be very easy until there's an actual baby (and DH always insists on being involved which makes it harder)

I also had a sneaky pregnancy nap today, it was not easy as DS was climbing on me but he settled down to watch tv for a few mins and it was just enough to get a bit of energy back.

Jane1811 · 21/05/2021 17:53

Hi,

Can i join too! I will be 30wks tomo, due 31st July with my first - a baby girl! Luckily everything has been going great so far and still feel pretty much as normal - altho the frequent nightly toilet trips have just started back up again so not getting much sleep atmo :D

Flittingaboutagain · 21/05/2021 18:32

Nameless baby girl here too at the moment. Lovely to read your ideas.

Welcome Jane Smile
