@Rainbowhunter89 yeah. I'm with the home birth team though. They offered it to me. I wasn't offered it last time through the normal service.

littleindi · 19/05/2021 15:11

Hellooooo Flowers can I join in? I am 29+4 and due on 31st July with DS2. DS1 is 28 months and I am KNACKERED so I am in awe of you ladies with even younger ones!

I've found this pregnancy so much harder than when I had my son cos I've really struggled to stay active (other than toddler chasing). Had prolapse when I had my son in 2019 which came back about 10 weeks pregnant... physio advised me not to run, lift weights or do any high impact exercise... and the gyms and pools were closed so I did an awful lot of heavy ice cream lifting instead Grin

littleindi · 19/05/2021 15:14

@hkp288

Can anyone recommend great pregnancy pillows? Even better if they can double up as a nursing pillow!
Haven't tried the BBHugme but I love the widgey pillow - I got 2 last time I was pregnant and nursing and they have been a lifesaver this time - currently use both when trying to sleep...

Hi 👋🏼, I’m natalie, due 17th July with baby girl #2. Have a 2yo little girl keeping me on my toes. DD was born 37+5 via induction last time due to reduced movements, I think my consultant expects the same this time as she was a small baby (5.7lbs) and in NICU for her first week.

Ctvyh7h7 · 19/05/2021 17:20

Hi everyone I'm expecting a baby boy on 17th July, (FTM) 💙 I've been referred for a growth scan because fundal growth has gone from 97th percentile to 10th percentile. Has anyone else been referred for an urgent growth scan for slow growth? Thanks!

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 19/05/2021 19:41

Oh god my baby is back to back at the moment - @THATbasicSNOWFLAKE what can I do to get him/her to move? 🙈

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 19/05/2021 20:03

Some info here @TiredAlreadyOhDear, altough i dont think there is much to worry about before 35 weeks as they still move position lots

Does anyone know of any stats on how breastfeeding impacts health for every month it is done? I'm really anxious about it because I feel my partner (incredibly pro bf) will see me as failure if I can't do it. I am hoping to find something to give me the confidence that if I manage it for a brief period it will still benefit baby and I.

Also, I've just order prep my bits. How many times a week should we do this type of massage? I have read more than twice doesn't help? Some people on another thread have said it didn't make a difference Confused Anyone starting it soon?

Mrslouu · 19/05/2021 20:50

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE thank you for including me in the due date. Our boy was impatient and arrived a month ago... it’s been a whirl wind month. ❤️❤️ I was due 26/07

Foxglovesandlilacs · 19/05/2021 21:15

@TiredAlreadyOhDear don’t worry at all, it’s really early and they don’t start to worry about a baby being breech or back to back until about 36 weeks. My 3rd and 6th babies were breech right until 37 weeks!

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 19/05/2021 21:24

@Mrslouu i knew someone had had their baby, how is he doing now?

OP posts:
Mrslouu · 19/05/2021 21:29

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE better thank you, fingers crossed. Came off the ventilator yesterday and heard our first teeny cry today. Hopefully keep moving forward and getting a bit stronger. Thank you for asking.

I hope everyone else’s pregnancy’s are going well, two months will fly by x

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 19/05/2021 21:30

@Foxglovesandlilacs glad to hear he/she still has chance to turn around!! I don’t want it to be anymore painful than it has to be!
@Mrslouu hope your baby boy is doing well!! Xx

ChunkyButFunky87 · 19/05/2021 21:32

Wishing him a speedy hospital stay @Mrslouu

32+4 today, in for a growth scan tomorrow, baby was already 4lb at 29 weeks and I just feel so heavy, I'm convinced he's going to be a big boy, was on the 90th or 95th centile I think last time.

5 years since my last pregnancy and I have to say I'm knackered. Reducing to 3 days instead of 4 from June but they're still 10 hour days, with DD on the go I just feel a bit of a crap parent currently, just no energy, trying to play with her beyond 5 mins and I'm done in. I just want him here now, started packing bag at the weekend, washed the Moses basket down etc.

I could easily finish work already but I know it'll be precious time when he's here lost and the reality is unlike 1st pregnancy I can't just sleep all afternoon when have DD on the go lol

Here's to hoping these last few weeks go quickly

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 20/05/2021 10:20

@Mrslouu brilliant news! What a star he is!

@ChunkyButFunky87 good luck for your scan!

@TiredAlreadyOhDear Sorry, my post might have caused unnecessary worry. Most babies naturally move into optimum position for birth. As others have said, you really don't need to worry until you're just a few weeks from your due date and there are things you can do to help them into that position.

HumunaHey · 20/05/2021 11:08

@Flittingaboutagain

@flittingaboutagain Well, for the first weeks, baby is getting colostrum, which is rich in antibodies and helps the baby's immune system. Even if you were to breastfeed for a week or two, that would be great and is seen as the most important time to breastfeed. After a few weeks, your milk transitions from colostrum to regular breastmilk - not quite the liquid gold that is colostrum.

If you can/want to breastfeed beyond a day, few days, weeks, etc. that's for you to decide. Your partner's job is to support you. He will be the failure if he causes you to feel badly about formula feeding instead. It's great to get opinions and research, and of course your partner is free to express his opinion, but don't let anyone pressure you into something you are finding difficulty with or just feel uncomfortable with doing.

Regarding your last part, are you talking about perennial(?) massage? I'd never even heard of it with my first. But I had a birthing pool and gave birth in a kind of upright position. I think that made a great difference in preventing tears.

Flittingaboutagain · 20/05/2021 11:36

MrsLou I have somehow missed your posts but wishing little one all the best!

@HumunaHey thanks so much. I am definitely feeling the pressure from him which is making me feel more anxious about my ability to breastfeed. I think if he was saying eg " it's totally your choice let's see what happens" etc then I'd feel so relieved and more confident!

MochaTea · 20/05/2021 11:37

hey @Lullabymummy17 nice to finally find someone expecting twins on this thread.
I am 31+1 with identical twin girls and it seems they will be born in the next 10 to 20 days, depending on my little one as she has a growth restriction and is 2 weeks smaller than her sister.
I'm being monitored 3x a week in case something happens and they need to come out sooner rather than later

Got my hospital bag almost finished and will do the babies this weeked.

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 20/05/2021 11:56

Oh wow thats so soon @MochaTea, do they have names yet?

OP posts:
Lullabymummy17 · 20/05/2021 12:12

@MochaTea I know! I haven't seen many twin mummy's on here, new to MN. Aww identical twin girls. So cute 😍
Yes, I'm in the same boat, they've given me a provisional section date of the 1st June as my LG is smaller than LB, also there is high pressure of blood through the placenta and I was leaking waters (although this has stopped).
Being monitored twice a week, I'm glad its not three times like you, I feel like I'm never away from there.
Yes. Bags need packing although I have packed a bag for the twins I don't know what to actually put in because I don't know what will be happening. I assume they'll be in scbu so won't need anything apart from nappies and hats for the first few days and weeks which will give DH time to get what we need. I didnt want to buy loads of premie stuff incase it wasn't needed.
How are you feeling?

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 20/05/2021 14:07

I had my low lying placenta scan today! The baby’s head was low and they couldn’t get it to move up so ended up having to have an internal scan as they couldn’t tell from the normal scan - but everything has moved up so I’m all good!

The baby has also turned so it’s back is to my belly as well now - hoping he/she stays that way!

I’ve no idea why but I feel so exhausted now today - feel like the hospital trip has taken it out of me! Hoping for a couple of hours left at work and then a nice lazy night in front of the telly!

Warrickdaviesasplates · 20/05/2021 15:44

@TiredAlreadyOhDear that's great news about the placenta moving! Although I feel for you having to have an internal scan, those things feel so invasive (even though I understand they're necessary)

Sounds like your little one is cooperating well. Fingers crossed they keep up the good behaviour!

Hope you get to have a little relax later.

MochaTea · 20/05/2021 16:00

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE we are trying to make it to 34 weeks but in cases like mine it's unsafe for the smaller one to stay much longer, she will be better off out, but it seems that so far she is doing incredibly well which gives me hope that we can do it.

@Lullabymummy17 twins do like to keep us on our toes haha it's quite tedious as it can take ages for them to find both heartbeats and make sure they are not the same baby + my little one moves all the time, sometimes it's 2 hours in there, but at least I can be confident they are ok.

For babies, I am also taking nappies, wipes, some cotton wool and it seems they might use our own muslin cloths of different sizes and of course hats, but I will meet someone from the neonatal team before birth and will be able to double-check what they will need from us.

I am ok overall apart from being huge, my heartburn is not as bad as it has been, babies are growing and running out of space, one is really down my pelvic floor and the other high up on my ribs so sleeping is not that comfortable at the moment. Walks of any kind are no more than 30 minutes and I am taking it day by day.
How about you?
