Hi ladies, I’m due on the 20th but think I will be early. How is everyone doing?

Baby Abigail was born safely on 13th may by Caesarian weighing 7lb 8oz. A long awaited and very much loved beautiful baby girl. So much in love! X

LittleTiger007 · 21/05/2021 11:57

Congratulations @Elles87! I share the ‘long awaited’ part of your journey. So pleased that you finally have your little Abigail safely in your arms.

Congratulations new mums! And such lovely names on this thread!

I'm trying to keep a steady hand to paint very small flowers while getting kicked in the ribs and having the odd contraction, but don't think there'll be any progress today... Humph.

CarryOnParenting · 21/05/2021 14:20

Congratulations all new mummies ☺️. I love reading all the new arrival posts.

Feeling for all those waiting. I’ve just had a call from the maternity ward so am heading in for induction in about an hour! Xx

thefishthatcouldwish · 21/05/2021 20:09

Congratulations to all the new mums 😀

Good Luck @CarryOnParenting

I’m in such a pickle fed up and so frightened of going over as I don’t want an induction.

I’m scared that everything will go wrong after 5 years and successful ivf I feel so close yet so far away.

Saltnsauceta · 21/05/2021 22:15

Congratulations to all the new mums on here. It's so lovely to read all the updates - beautiful names too!
@Fishthatcouldwish, I know exactly what you mean. Keeping baby safe inside this last week seems almost impossible. I am raising a chant from the hypnobirthing book: my body knows how to nourish and care for my baby. Hope it helps you too x

Willowfalls · 21/05/2021 22:30

Congratulations new mummy’s 🥰.

I lost my mucus plug a few days ago & woke up at 7am with what I’m guessing are contractions. Although they dont seem to be ramping up or have any particular pattern. I have even napped intermittently!! Constant dull back ache though!

Had a bloody show throughout the day and have been bouncing on my ball.

Feeling a bit nervous! Xx

lucymagoo · 21/05/2021 23:04

@Willowfalls I'm having the same, lost my bloody show all afternoon and contractions have been so irregular but so painful! I'm gonna be up all night with these, praying they develop into something they've been getting stronger for 3 days now

Willowfalls · 22/05/2021 08:18

@lucymagoo how are you doing today? Xx

lucymagoo · 22/05/2021 10:49

@Willowfalls I'm in the birth centre, was 3cm at 8am. Hoping he won't be long!

Willowfalls · 22/05/2021 12:19

Good luck :) this gives me hope! Cant wait to hear x

LittleTiger007 · 22/05/2021 17:29

Good luck @lucymagoo and @Willowfalls! I had tremendously strong (and for hours) contractions yesterday. Stalled again. Today I’m so very tired. Resting ... having gentle contractions and letting my body rest. Baby seems fine.
Praying we have our babies soon

Newmumtobeee · 22/05/2021 18:11

@Willowfalls @lucymagoo best of luck to you two! Hopefully your babies will arrive soon!!

Just seen Mrs Hinch has had her baby too, feel like everyone’s popping theirs out but me! 40wk+2 now. Guess my sweep didn’t work, thought it did as I lost my mucus plug/had bloody show but nothing. Just a lot of pressure, baby mega active, I do keep getting more mucus but no cramping or contractions :( feeling deflated

PFin · 23/05/2021 03:43

Still have you in my thoughts @LittleTiger007 keep checking in to see if your little one has arrived, have everything crossed for you 🤞🤞

lucymagoo · 23/05/2021 04:21

Baby Charlie arrived at 11:59pm on 22nd. Very long 4 day labour and regular painful labour for about 36 hours!
I got to 9cm before ending up with the epidural and so glad I did because there was more slow progress from 9-10cm, his heart rate dipping and he ended up coming out with forceps and episiotomy for speed purposes. A surprisingly calm easy delivery despite that! He's gorgeous I'm so happy he's out!

hereforallthehelp · 23/05/2021 07:02

Ahhhh congrats @lucymagoo what a trooper you are! Enjoy all the cuddles xx

CarryOnParenting · 23/05/2021 08:40

@lucymagoo congratulations! I love the name Charlie, it’s on our list of maybes.

I’m still in the hospital, contractions have completely stopped after pessary taken out but it did enough so they can break my waters so I’m just waiting for delivery suite to be not be as busy to I can have that. Least it meant I could get some sleep.

I keep hearing the babies on the post-natal part of the ward ☺️ Xx

thefishthatcouldwish · 23/05/2021 11:31

Congratulations @lucymagoo 🥳

@CarryOnParenting hope your labour develops well today.

Not sure if I’m in the start of early labour. Have tummy ache most of morning since about 5am. Haven’t told DH how I am feeling as it will worry him.

Off out for lunch as it’s my wedding anniversary today.

AyyX · 23/05/2021 12:04

Congrats to all the new mummies xx

@lucymagoo you’re so lucky they still gave you epidural at that time!! I asked for epidural last minute and they checked me and said I’m already 9cm and it won’t kick in on time before I have the baby so I didn’t get any pain relief 😩 I was so gutted

hereforallthehelp · 23/05/2021 12:04

@thefishthatcouldwish I’ve had dull aching for 2 days now and wake up in a bit of pain but unsure if it’s anything - so hard to tell isn’t it?!

LittleTiger007 · 23/05/2021 12:06

Congratulations @lucymagoo on the birth of baby Charlie! Lovely name and so happy for you after such a long labour and delivery!
Happy anniversary @thefishthatcouldwish!
Good luck to everyone waiting. Praying that things get going here again today and that this time it produces a baby rather than stalling... I’m getting a bit impatient!

I've just come back from a check-up (40w yesterday). All ok, but cervix completely closed. She tried to do a sweep but couldn't complete it. Booked in for an induction on Saturday, but was warned it could be an especially long one if cervix is still closed - prostaglandin to warm up before starting oxytocin. With a mask on 24h (not UK). So now I'm sore and grumpy and can't even eat biscuits because of the sugar levels. Any tips for gd-friendly snacks appreciated...

AtLeastThreeDrinks · 24/05/2021 11:19

Hi @LittleTiger007, I was due on the 20th too and still no sign! Hope everyone's who's waiting is feeling good.

HollyWell · 24/05/2021 11:37

Hello! Our baby boy arrived yesterday weighing 8lb 12oz, no name yet though. I went in for an induction on Saturday and was 4cm with bulging waters with mild contractions so I was sent straight to delivery suite for my waters to be broken. Unfortunately after 22 hours and strong contractions I had only reached 6cm and baby was becoming distressed so I had an emergency section. But I have to say it was absolutely amazing, so calm and everyone was so lovely - so ladies please don’t panic like I did when they mentioned cesarean! At first I felt so disappointed that I wouldn’t be pushing him out myself but actually I had a wonderful experience. Good luck everyone still waiting! It’s so, so worth it in the end!
