Hi ladies, I’m due on the 20th but think I will be early. How is everyone doing?

@workingmummyof2soontobe3 I hope the pessaries start working soon for you, sending all good and positives vibes. Can see it going the same way for me.

Due date is tomorrow, got a sweep at 3pm but still no signs of labour... i feel like a waddling duck

LaMadrilena · 19/05/2021 15:12

Congratulations @Sleepyhead81! Solidarity to everyone else... I'm still 4 days away from due date so probably got a while to go yet. Loads of contractions, and really frequent, but they don't hurt and I don't think they're actually doing anything useful. Oh well.

thefishthatcouldwish · 19/05/2021 15:33

Congratulations @Sleepyhead81 and all others with squishy newborns.

I am very fed up and a bit down to be honest. I just want little man here.

notlongnow0521 · 19/05/2021 17:19

Hey after being induced last night baby notlongnow arrived this morning a healthy 8llb with no issues! She's doing amazingly and am shattered but elated so relieved she's here and healthy x

Congratulations to all the new mamas and good luck to those still waiting Thanks

lucymagoo · 19/05/2021 19:55

I think these might be the real thing finally, much more intense and a regular 10 mins apart. These feel very different to braxton hicks, I could not sleep through these! Fingers crossed he's coming tonight! 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

Bu2014 · 20/05/2021 05:02

Hello all, good luck to all still waiting and congrats to all the new arrivals ❤️

My contractions started at 3am on the 18th May, almost a week early. By 5pm my contractions were about 2 minutes apart. By the time I had manged to get my husband home from work, sent off my sun to my sisters and arrived at hospital at 6am to was 10cms dilated and could be offered no pain relief. Baby girl arrived at 810am, with suction cap assistance and massive tear 😔 but that all seems forgotten now. A healthy 6.22lbs, name yet undecided X

Bu2014 · 20/05/2021 05:03

Sorry, that was meant to be 5am not 5pm!

LittleTiger007 · 20/05/2021 09:14

Huge congratulations @Bu2014 and @notlongnow0521 on your baby girls!

I had lots of contractions again yesterday/last night they get stronger each time. Again stalled due to baby’s position. Walking and trying belly binding gently today to lift baby up and position the head correctly. Due date is today. Baby and I are not distressed so continuing... resting regularly. Day 5 of this malarkey.

I hope all is going well @lucymagoo

lucymagoo · 20/05/2021 10:19

@LittleTiger007 mine stalled as well 😩 I was having painful 10 min apart contractions for about 6 hours and they slowly moved to 15 and then 30 mins apart. Woke up today with one every hour or so.

If yours is due to position have you seen the miles circuit? It's supposed to help contractions become regular when baby isn't position right

LittleTiger007 · 20/05/2021 10:24

That’s exactly what’s happened here twice now with strong period pains in between. I really thought it was going somewhere last night. From 7pm til 4 am... really strong contractions. What’s the miles circuit? Will Google...

lucymagoo · 20/05/2021 10:54

@LittleTiger007 I can't believe how synced we are 😂 it's nice to empathise!

I've asked my midwife if I can come in to be assessed, I want them to tell me if these contractions are real and what to do to get things moving. I did all the oxytocin enhancers last night I'm gutted they've just faded off.

HollyWell · 20/05/2021 12:23

Biggest congratulations to all ladies that have had their babies!!! And I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you ladies who have started.
I’m 10 days over today and am royally FED UP! Can I please ask the ladies who have had inductions whether their birth partners were allowed to stay with them throughout? I’m booked in for Saturday afternoon and can’t find guidance about it anywhere on the hospitals website. I’ve also been told that at my hospital they don’t use the pessary or the gel but the balloon catheter instead, has anyone else had this before? Sorry for all the questions!

Newmumtobeee · 20/05/2021 16:08

Had my sweep done today, midwife said my cervix is very favourable for a FTM and she easily got to it. (TMI) but she managed to get 2 fingers in and touch babies head! Swept around a bit...let’s just say it was uncomfortable to say the least! Hoping this really helps kickstart labour for me

PFin · 20/05/2021 16:29

@LittleTiger007 god your LO has you running in circles aready lol I hope they get into posistion for you.

My beautiful little girl Emie arrived 5 days late this morning at 9.21am weighing 7lb 14oz. Labour started around 1.30am and I stuck it out at home till 3am. Was 6cm when I reached maternity. Lots of gas and air and some morphine later she was born in her sack in the birthing pool happy as larry. Thank you all reading all the stories of everyone else kept me going, congrats to all the babies already here and good luck to all the mummies and babies waiting.

lucymagoo · 20/05/2021 16:59

Congrats @PFin! In her sack! That's amazing, sounds like it was pretty straightforward birth too which is lovely. 💙

LittleTiger007 · 20/05/2021 17:20

Congratulations @PFin! In her sack is awesome!

Congratulations to everyone who's had their babies Grin
I've got a week too go before c section and I've just found out I'm anaemic there was talk of an iron transfusion but they think tablets will be okay with the current levels
I'm on so many tablets I rattle
Time for this baby to come out now!

bump2677 · 20/05/2021 17:44

@HollyWell I was induced on Saturday. I had the drip because my waters had gone so no experience of the balloon catheter I'm afraid, but my birth partner had to wait outside when I went in to triage to be assessed, then once they did that she was called in and they covid tested both of us before we went up to labour ward. She was outside for maybe 40 mins then was in until 3/4 hours after i gave birth and was moved to postnatal ward. I think if you're going to labour ward they should be allowed in pretty much straight away.

workingmummyof2soontobe3 · 20/05/2021 19:55

I had my baby via c section this afternoon we’ve named him Arthur and he was 8lb. I was induced on Monday and every day for three days and nothing happened so I asked for a section. Turns out I had 4 times the amount of amniotic fluid and he was never going to push his way down the birth canal. Too comfy swimming around. Good luck to everyone waiting and congratulations to others on your babies

LittleTiger007 · 20/05/2021 21:34

Congratulations @workingmummyof2soontobe3 sorry your inductions didn’t work, but so glad to hear that little Arthur is here safe and sound!

My little girl arrived this afternoon by caesarean section. I was hoping for a vbac but consultants advised she needed to be born sooner rather than later. A healthy 8 pound 1oz. I've not had any sleep. All she wants to do is feed! Congratulations all to all the other mummies and those mummies still waiting, good luck. It's so worth it!

LittleTiger007 · 21/05/2021 07:20

Congratulations @Moorelewis! Enjoy the newborn snuggles and I hope she lets you sleep soon! Xx

Babies are coming thick and fast now! 3 yesterday. Hoping and praying that there are more safe deliveries today. Today’s date would be a cool birthdate....
