Hi ladies, I’m due on the 20th but think I will be early. How is everyone doing?

Congrats @cem90 and @Sparksflyxo on your new arrivals. Hope you are recovering!

So exciting seeing the announcements go up the list.

Xx

I went into labour at 3pm, the contractions were coming thick and fast and getting stronger and stronger and then about an hour ago they just stopped. Been sent home again. I didn’t realise this was a thing. Apparently baby is back to back so apparently I may have more of this stop starting whilst baby gets into position. So tired ... disappointed too.

PFin · 16/05/2021 22:16

@cem90 Congrats, the sweep was probably a success for you then. Sounds like a tough time least baby is here safe and sound.

@LittleTiger007 oh goodness sounds awful I feel for you. I didnt think you'd of been sent home. Rest up as much as you can while all is quiet.

lucymagoo · 16/05/2021 22:32

Oh no @LittleTiger007 that's a shame, hopefully things progress for you fast!

I'm due tomorrow and can barely walk from how much my abdomen and legs are aching, anyone having this? When I stand up it takes me a minute to be able to stand straight and then I'm limping and hobbling around with aches and pains Sad

Still having regular cramps and tightening all day every day. Excited to see my midwife tomorrow on my due date so she can tell me it means something 🤞🏼

LittleTiger007 · 17/05/2021 10:15

Thanks @lucymagoo & @PFin. I too have very achey legs and abdomen. On Friday and Saturday I had very strong period pains. From yesterday that has ... I can only describe as... moved deeper. I feel things moving and stretching at a core level. Contractions came in waves and got progressively stronger. I had two very strong ones at 4 am and now still waiting for it to start again.
Love and best wishes to all Flowers

@LittleTiger007 that sounds like exactly what I've been having! I empathise, I go to bed every night with regular contractions expecting to be woken up in the middle of the night in full labour but no Envy

Sitting in bed/on the yoga ball all day today until my appointment because I can't bear to do anything else, yesterday was my husband's bday so I wanted to make a bit of an effort for him but today is my due date and I'm fully embracing the excuse to being lazy Grin

LittleTiger007 · 17/05/2021 10:43

Yes be lazy @lucymagoo! Praying our little ones arrive today. Like you I’m mostly on the ball today or resting. I didn’t sleep well so am going to take a nap. Rather than contractions I’m having occasional sharp pains right now.

BrumBoo · 17/05/2021 10:52

Feeling really grotty today, but also feel nesting fully kicking in. Unfortunately, manic toddler won't allow that to happen so will wait until bedtime Grin. He's properly dropped now, just took a bump photo for a friend and barely 'look' pregnant at all, he's disappeared into my pelvis. Can't believe I still have at least a week and a half, maybe more (please be less....).

BrumBoo · 17/05/2021 10:53

@LittleTiger007 when my second wouldn't shift, I was advised to crab walk up and down stairs (so side step, not forward). Didn't work for me, but might be worth a try?

PFin · 17/05/2021 12:19

Im relieved im not in pain but I was due on Saturday have had a sweep and was 2 to 3 cm dilated on the friday and have never felt further away from giving birth. Dont know if i'd rather all the signs of impending labour so at least I have hope it might happen or if im better of sitting here with not a sign. Just really dont want to be induced. @LittleTiger007 what are your next steps with hospital if things dont pick up? Have you got a date to go in or do they want you back at a certain date/time to see if baby has moved position? Stalking this page waiting for all your babies 😂

bump2677 · 17/05/2021 18:07

I had to get the drip on Saturday as my waters broke but no contractions within 24 hours. My gorgeous baby boy was born saturday night weighing 7lb 15oz.

Twobecomingthreeplusthedog · 17/05/2021 18:27

@bump2677 congratulations!!

@LittleTiger007 sounds like we are very much in the same boat still! My contractions got stronger last night but we’re about 5 minutes apart then died off over night and restarted at 5am.

Saw my doctor at 11am who told me to go home and have sex and I told her I’d rather shit in my own hands and clap Grin contractions have been on and off all day. Another bloody show this afternoon so hoping they don’t completely disappear AGAIN!

Wishing you the best of luck!

LittleTiger007 · 18/05/2021 07:35

Congratulations @bump2677! So glad for you!

Yes @Twobecomingthreeplusthedog things do sound the same! I’ve been contracting on and off. The baby is back to back and it has caused a stalled labour basically. I am not going down the route of induction as I think that will only lead to a c section with baby and I both getting tired and distressed. So I’m trying to make the baby turn and resting in between bouts of walking and bouncing etc. I’m not overdue yet (due Thursday). It’s a horrible limbo though. I can’t concentrate on anything... feel odd, plastic sheeting everywhere in case things happen. I’m holding out for a natural birth as long as I can. Baby will turn and I think it will happen fast then. Thanks for the advice @BrumBoo I live in a bungalow but there are two steps I’m walking a lot! @PFin hospital want me induced or c section. I’m standing my ground currently. It’s just convenient for them. I’m only 39+5 and still have the energy to continue.
It’s annoying it didn’t happen over the weekend though or yesterday as my husband was off work for 3 days. Today he’s not even working near to home 🤦‍♀️.
Have a good day ladies.

How did your appointment go @lucymagoo?

LittleTiger007 · 18/05/2021 07:46

Any news other ladies who have passed your due dates? @Mammamia365, @notlongnow0521, @Sleepyhead81, @Elles87, @Moorelewis, @HollyWell, @RosieGirl27?

OP posts:
Moorelewis · 18/05/2021 08:19

@LittleTiger007 unfortunately not, cervix still closed. 40+6 today. I cancelled my induction and I've been advised to have an elective section due to my blood pressure. Looking like the next few days. Gutted as I really wanted a vbac. Had an awful experience last time. Hope things speed up for you soon x

HollyWell · 18/05/2021 08:26

Goodness @LittleTiger007 that must be so frustrating for you! Good on you for standing your ground though!!
At my sweep on Friday the midwife said I was 2-3cm with bulging waters so I was so hopeful that I would have had the baby at the weekend! I’ve got an induction booked for Saturday but still holding out hope that I will start on my own before then! Every morning I wake up so disappointed that nothing has happened over night!
Also so jealous of all the lovely birth announcements on here! Grin
Hope everyone else is getting through it okay!! Is anyone else getting sick of the hundreds of messages from friends and family asking if there is ‘any news?’ I know people mean well but I’m so tired of everyone asking me if I’ve tried this and that!!!

CarryOnParenting · 18/05/2021 10:59

@LittleTiger007 oh this wait!!! So frustrating.

I’ve just seen the midwife for sweep, cervix completely closed, she doesn’t think it’s worth trying again before Friday (induction/due date) 🙄.

@bump2677 congratulations, hope you are well and recovering. Hopefully a few of us will be joining you soon! Xx

Sleepyhead81 · 18/05/2021 17:17

Hi everyone, our baby boy Arthur arrived yesterday weighing 8lb 15oz! He doesn't fit in the newborn outfits we'd taken to the hospital but luckily I'd packed a couple of bigger baby grows just in case.
Was induced Saturday but was slow going. Went into labour Monday morning but his heartbeat kept dropping with each contraction so ended up with an emergency c section.
But we are so glad to be home already and our girls were very excited to meet their baby brother 💖💖💙

notlongnow0521 · 18/05/2021 19:05

Hey @LittleTiger007 I've just been admitted to hospital. Baby has dropped from 50 to 27th percentile and they concerned my placenta has ruptured slightly so baby hasn't been getting the nutrients she requires. I was 3cm dilated earlier so hoping that that along with back pain and period like pains with some contractions mean she'll be on her way soon. Just waiting to see midwife if that's the case or i need to be induced. I'm terrified to be honest but if my little one is anything like her mother she's stubborn enough to prove them all wrong.
Wishing all those who've had their little babies huge congrats and I hope you're all well. Xx

LittleTiger007 · 18/05/2021 20:12

Huge congratulations @Sleepyhead81! Great news.

@notlongnow0521 I’m sorry that they are concerned about your little one. Hopefully she will be here soon, safe and sound.
Still nothing happening here except cramps. It’s so frustrating isn’t it @CarryOnParenting it looks like we both may see our due dates after all. @HollyWell it sounds promising if your waters are bulging that things might happen for you soon?! @Moorelewis I hope you might still get your vbac but most of all simply hoping for a safe arrival - whatever that looks like. Xx

Congrats @Sleepyhead81!Star

Still waiting here 🥲 40+2 today and generally just feel sore and bruised, finding it hard to walk or get comfy in any position. Surely this is a sign things are moving along soon 😩
I just want to meet him now

cem90 · 19/05/2021 13:12

Love hearing all the announcements- congratulations to everyone who has had their arrivals and good luck to everyone waiting.
I'm sure it won't be too long now xx

workingmummyof2soontobe3 · 19/05/2021 14:18

Anyone else being induced this week? I came in Monday to be induced at 2pm, the first pessary was put in at 3.30am Tuesday morning and didn’t do anything. I’m now on day 3 and third pessary and still nothing I’m losing the will to live. I’ll be checked again to see if my waters can be broken this evening but if not then it will likely be a section for me x
