Hi ladies, I’m due on the 20th but think I will be early. How is everyone doing?

@CarryOnParenting ah ok! Thanks x

Does anyone’s babies hate laying down as much as mine? He just wants to be held upright, usually hates being held laying down too! Trying to grow up too fast haha.
I think he went through a phase for the first 5 weeks because he was so whingy and moany. He seems to be more calm when put down while awake for the last 2 days thank god.
This is my second so I’m not as emotional and it’s been such hard work with two under two 😅 but every time I look at him I’m in love 🥰

@PFin yeah it's really hard. MIL had him today and gave him a bottle, I cried for a while after she left because I'm getting huge rushes of happiness from feeding him myself and it just didn't feel right! God it's such a minefield isn't it Confused just got to remember that nobody knows them like us and we have the closest bond to our babies!

@99redspottedducks ah right yeah in the same boat its ok now hubby is here to help but when he goes back.

@abeanbaked have been very emotional, LO is just over 3 weeks so has eased a bit but I just burst out crying quite often for stupid reasons or sometimes no reason at all! I felt the same about people holding my first baby, i felt really stressed people handling him, feeding him etc. Its not as bad this time but just remember its your baby therefore your rules. Ive learned this time round to just say no when im uncomfortable!

Anyone else just so emotional? I can get over the fact that he's here and I carried him for 9 months. It's such a full, all consuming love isn't it I just can't believe it! And it's hard for me to see him being held by anyone but me and his daddy Blush I may need to work on that!

@PFin I haven't tried much yet
She's just over 2 weeks but DH goes back to work in a few days so isn't going to be able to help as much, so I do need to find a way to help her sleep at night else I will be a zombie!
We have tried to keep her awake during the evening but unless she wants to there's not a chance
Like her brother once asleep there's no waking her

PFin · 13/06/2021 20:32

@99redspottedducks my LO is exactly the same, shes just over 3 weeks now and very often sleeps most, if not all of the day and is wide awake at night! She wants to be held too and is rarely upset unless you set her down.. then she sits quite happily in your arms till shes got sick of that posistion and wants moved. I try to distinguish between day and night, i.e. keeping it loud and bright during the day and keeping it quiet and dim come night. Trying to even wake her during the day for a bottle is difficult and its just a lost cause trying to keep her awake for any length of time. Is there anything you are trying to try and get your LO switched round?

@AyyX

Congrats ladies!!
Can’t believe mine is 5 weeks now! Time flies by so fast!

How’s everyone’s babies doing? Anyone a walking zombie right now 😩
Baby boy wakes up about every 2hrs for boobies 😬

He’s been making a lot of weird noises like he’s gasping for air sometimes and he always seems unsettled and uncomfortable not sure why. And he always chokes on my breastmilk, seems like it’s every feed too.

Not quite a zombie as DH and I are tag teaming naps etc
However DD sleeps most of the day then comes alive at night
Wants to be cuddled or fed
She went down at 4am last night so I did that while DH slept then he took over when she woke up to be fed at 5
Come morning time she goes off to sleep though
Should become nocturnal
If it wasn't for having DS we might of done that Grin

@AyyX mine seems to do these things too, someone mentioned could be milk flow is a bit quick and with them guzzling it up, like if we wolfed something down we’d probably choke a bit. He’s also had tongue tie, which has now been snipped, as he was feeding for hours at a time and I’m on antibiotics for mastitis which has made him very windy and uncomfortable at times.

The breastfeeding nurses at our local hospital have been amazing so do ask for help if you need it 😊

Our baby boy arrived yesterday morning via emergency section weighing 7lb 15oz. Had been booked for an elective section but woke in the night bleeding which wouldn't stop and we didn't know why/where the haemorrhage was coming from. Born kicking and screaming and hasn't stopped since Grin

@CarryOnParenting ohh yes it really nearly was! The Midwives said if we'd have left it another 15 minutes I would have been having him at home. So glad we made it to the hospital in time and all went well!
The Midwives had to break my waters as they said they were 'baggy' and just sat on the bed 😂 they said there was not enough pressure there for them to break on their own.

Congratulations @CLeighannHxo, wow very quick, nearly another bathroom floor baby!

I love how everyone, outside mumsnet too, has a different birth story.

So our little man, Isaac, arrived on the 03/06/2021 at 12.39pm, weighing 7lb. Everything was so quick!! I started having contractions throughout the night but was trying to fob them off for needing the loo but nothing happening, we rang the Midwives about 6am then 10am and then we rang at about 11am basically saying I can't take anymore and need to come in, even though I was having irregular timing between contractions and waters hadn't gone... got to hospital around 11.20ish and they examined me and I was fully dilated!! 😲😬
Congratulations to all the other mums who have giving birth Flowers

Congratulations @LemonRizzle!
Finally my beautiful girl arrived earlier today. It was very quick in the end after 3 weeks of on and off labour which kept stalling. It seems that was all effort in the bank and she came surprisingly quickly in the end in just a couple of hours. I had refused indiction and c section and I’m so glad.

Just to update my beautiful baby boy was born at 3:45am this morning. Congrats to you all and those still waiting don't lose hope, I've been refusing an induction all week for a "small baby" and booked for csection at 42 weeks but he arrived naturally weighing a healthy 7lb 11oz (albeit quickly and eventfully)
