@AdriannaP
@ComebackQueen

I think it's just us at the moment (sorry if I forgot anyone) but hoping that more and more of us will be joining soon!
I figured it would be nice to stay in touch here too, throughout the exciting yet nerve-wracking next stages! 💞

How are you getting on? 🙂

Hey thanks for the add, very excited about this thread and to see how everyone is progressing.

I ended up back in hospital on Saturday due to HG.

I’m waiting for my GP to call me this afternoon to review medication. Picked up some amazing tips from a thread I made in so hoping I can ask my GP to give me dissolvable tablets instead of the oral ones I keep getting from both hospital and go!

Been having spotting and cramping with back pain and very small amount of brown blood but the hospital said straight up unless it’s bright red and enough to fill a tampon, as I’m still being sick a lot, they’re not worried.

I’ve been holed up in bed since Saturday chomping down ice lollies and ice cubes along with very very cold water sipping it slowly.

Was planning to get an early scan done end of the month but might hold off until after Easter as I can’t imagine i can last in the car for more than 5 minutes.

I hope and pray your pregnancies are well and much easier.

I heard the second trimester it gets easier...!!!!

eloiseislost · 22/03/2021 17:26

Good to hear from you @ComebackQueen but I'm sorry about the HG! I've heard that the risk of miscarriage for women who have vomiting in the first trimester is much, much lower than those who don't -that must be some consolation at least!

I had a scan at 6 weeks, at 8 weeks and at 10 weeks. At the last one we also did the Harmony NIPT test which came back with lowest risk for the three trisomies. We also found out we are having a girl!! 💞

My 12 week scan is on Friday, I had a relaxed weekend after finding out the NIPT results but the anxiety is creeping in again!! 😬

Hi both @ComebackQueen @eloiseislost
I am 13 plus 5 now. Feeling much better this week so it does get better @ComebackQueen!!
Congratulations on your scans and on having a girl @eloiseislost
My 12w scan went well too, baby was kicking and well. I have another one at 20 and then 24. Might book a private one before especially if I can find one where I can take my DD (she is 5). I think we will have a surprise, but everyone thinks I am having a boy Hmm

I am still tired all the time! It’s an exhausting pregnancy much harder than my first one.

@ComebackQueen hope you feel much better soon!!!

AdriannaP · 23/03/2021 12:04

I am also hoping and praying I can visit my family in my home country in the summer. The recent news are making me very depressed. My DD is missing her GP and I am missinf my family too of course.

eloiseislost · 23/03/2021 12:14

Glad to hear things are going well @AdriannaP 🤗
I feel for you, I am also from another country and I haven't seen my Mum in over a year… I'm not sure I'll be able to travel any time soon but I'm hoping that she will come to visit if things improve for both countries. Fingers crossed some lovely reunions are in store for both of us! 🤞🏼

OP posts:
AdriannaP · 23/03/2021 12:25

@eloiseislost that would be lovely! 🤞🏻🙏🏼

ComebackQueen · 23/03/2021 19:08

@eloiseislost that’s fantastic news with the NIPT results and omg a girl, so lovely, a mini me in the making!

The scans are so detailed and I can imagine how much comfort it gives before the official 12 week scan.
Good luck for the official scan!

Hopefully with HG that is a good sign but I’m just a natural worrier and I have already been googling what could go wrong....!

@AdriannaP yay you’re in the second trimester, good to hear the second trimester does get better.

I can’t imagine how you feel not being able to go and see family, fingers crossed everything starts getting back to normal.

Stay safe and well ladies and look forward to all the updates along the way.

Btw how do I get the maternity exemption certificate? I’ve spent a lot of money on medication already...!!!

eloiseislost · 23/03/2021 20:44

@ComebackQueen Are you in England? I believe you have to ask your midwife and she will email it to you.
If you don't have your midwife's phone number, contact the maternity unit and ask, you shouldn't be paying for your medication! Hoping you can get the certificate ASAP.

OP posts:
AdriannaP · 23/03/2021 21:39

@ComebackQueen I got it emailed after my first midwife appointment. I needed a lot of medication before I had it and as the prescription was from the EPU and clearly medicine for pregnancy (progesterone, folic acid etc) I didn’t have to pay even though I didn’t have it yet. How far are you now?

Also ladies make a dentist appointment! It’s free when you are pregnant.

AdriannaP · 23/03/2021 22:10

@ComebackQueen forgot to add: last time I went to the pharmacy I said I am prescription except because of maternity and she didn’t even ask to see my certificate (she just ticked the box).

eloiseislost · 24/03/2021 07:35

@AdriannaP My last scheduled check up at the dentist was cancelled due to COVID so it's been like a year and a half! 😱 My practice doesn't see NHS clients for routine appointments yet but I think I may have to register somewhere else. I've read horror stories about oral health and pregnancy!!

OP posts:
AdriannaP · 25/03/2021 19:48

@eloiseislost wow that’s bad. I saw our dentist for a check-up in September. (Also with my DD)
I better not ask about the horror stories...

I am still so so tired all the time. I am useless half of the day. How are you both doing?

eloiseislost · 25/03/2021 19:54

@AdriannaP I'm 12 weeks today, NHS scan tomorrow morning and I'd say if anything my tiredness and nausea are getting worse, especially from the afternoon onwards.
I spent most of the day in bed today, feeling sorry for myself. I'm also incredibly… ahem… gassy! 🙈🙉🙊
I've gained 8.5 pounds already from eating beige foods exclusively and not exercising any more. Must be partly the hormones but I feel like... I'm failing at being pregnant. 😞

Hello ladies,
So nice to find you here! I haven’t posted on the original thread yet, but I got my bfp ☺️. Can I join the graduates? 😄

eloiseislost · 26/03/2021 07:00

@Bizawit I KNEW IT!!!!!!!!
It took so much willpower not to post on the other thread to pester you to test! 🤣
I'm so happy for you, congratulations! And what a line!! 😲 👏🏼
Welcome aboard! ❤️

OP posts:
Bizawit · 26/03/2021 09:26

Haha thank you!! 😍😍 I was terrified to test so actually followed in your footsteps @eloiseislost and decided to POA ovulation stick first 😆. When that came out blazing positive I knew and was brave enough to take a proper pregnancy test. Thanks for the tip, I might never have been brave enough to test otherwise 😆. I’m paranoid though - I’ve now taken a million tests , I’m a POAS addict. I got worried last night as rhr has been dropping a bit (even though I know that’s how it goes 🙄!) but I got a 3+ this morning on the digital ☺️ So now I’m happy. I should probably stop now.

How is everyone else doing? Are you all through the first trimester now?

So glad we’ve still got out SI club 🥰💪🏻
Xx

AdriannaP · 26/03/2021 09:40

Congratulations @Bizawit so so thrilled for you 🥳🥳🥰😍🥳 that’s a strong line too!! Welcome to the club!

eloiseislost · 26/03/2021 09:42

@Bizawit A 3+ already on the digital? I didn't get to 3+ until 19DPO, I think you may have twins! 😍😍
Definitely stop testing now, because 3+ on CB means your hcg is over 2753! I'm so so happy for you! 🙂

I have my 12-week NHS scan at 11:00 and I'm a ball of nerves 😬 even though I had scans at 6, 8 and 10 weeks and a harmony test that came back lowest risk. I just can't help worrying all the time, but I love her so much already and can't wait to meet her! 💕

In other news, none of my jeans fit! (TMI warning - exposed skin) Is it too early to buy maternity jeans? 🤔

Oh @Bizawit pay no mind to RHR! I was panicking about mine because it went up before BFP and then a week later plummeted! Our bodies very quickly adapt to the growing baby, if our RHR kept going up, or even stayed up, for 10 months, our hearts would eventually explode! 🤣

@eloiseislost all the best for your scan today!!
Don’t worry too much about weight gain etc, the first trimester is tough and you need to eat what you can keep down. Hopefully you feel much better soon. Are you taking your second covid vaccine?

I started week 14 today, 6 more weeks till my next scan 😬😫 might cave and pay for one privately before. I feel a bit better now just constantly tired. I still have two weeks on progesterone and can’t wait to stop it. It also makes me sweat a lot.

AdriannaP · 26/03/2021 09:47

@eloiseislost ha no! Go for it. Personally I love maternity leggins (I recommend H&M and Mamalicious). I also bought a great maternity bundle on ebay - 7 pieces for £23. Of course a few days later I found all the bits from my first pregnancy and now I have a LOT of mat clothes 😬😳🤯

eloiseislost · 26/03/2021 09:47

@AdriannaP Thank you! 😘
I got my first vaccine dose literally the day of ovulation and got pregnant that day, but midwife has said no to the second dose. 😕
I really, really want it so once I'm past the 20-week anomaly scan and everything is hopefully OK 🤞🏼 I'll discuss it again, do a bit of begging and pleading…! 😄

OP posts:
AdriannaP · 26/03/2021 09:48

Asos maternity is also great and they always have pieces in the sale. You can also get mamalicious stuff on sale at Zalando. Jojo also have maternity clothes on sale atm (yes I love looking at maternity clothes 😅😅)

AdriannaP · 26/03/2021 09:51

@eloiseislost I had my first dose 10 days ago, will see what they say re my second dose... I do want a second dose too especially as I want to go to my home country in July but let’s see if that’s even possible 😫😢
When is your due date? Have you looked at any classes yet? I am thinking of doing a hypnobirthing class as last time I completely lost it after pushing for over 2 hours. Let’s just say I was not very calm or relaxed.

eloiseislost · 26/03/2021 09:56

@AdriannaP I've kind of given up the idea of travelling, I would feel too scared but I hope my mum and gran can visit. They are in Greece, so not too long a journey!
As of the 10-week scan my DD is 7th October. Haven't looked at classes yet, not even sure which are happening still due to COVID. Hypnobirthing sounds interesting, though I've read mixed reviews and opinions. But anything that may help us relax is worth a shot!
