@AdriannaP
@ComebackQueen

I think it's just us at the moment (sorry if I forgot anyone) but hoping that more and more of us will be joining soon!
I figured it would be nice to stay in touch here too, throughout the exciting yet nerve-wracking next stages! 💞

How are you getting on? 🙂

Hello grad ladies! So lovely to see you all here and read up on how you're all getting along. Can't believe some of you are into your second trimester now! How is everyone feeling?
I'm 14dpo and been getting BFPs since 10dpo. Bit of a shock as I hadn't even had a period since the D&C on 19th March, following my MMC.
I've had two sets of bloods done this week and they showed HCG going from 18 to 42 in 48h so they said they're pretty sure it's a new pregnancy but want me to go back in a week for more bloods to confirm.
In the meantime I'm just here, POAS twice a day with my anxiety through the actual roof. I may not be here long but felt I didn't want to vent about every twinge and cramp and worry on the undergrad thread as I know some of the ladies there have had some really tough weeks recently. Here are my lines atm- top one 10dpo.
Lines look good I think but they did this last time too and so I don't feel reassured by them at all. How did those of you who have had MCs previously cope in these early weeks with your current pregnancies?

Awww congratulations @Makingnumber2!!! Those lines and progression look really good- can’t see anyway that could be left over HCG. Keep peeing on those sticks 💪🏻💪🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻.

I’m just 9+1 here. I’ve been too anxious to have any early scans but I have a harmony test + scan next week , so I guess I’ll finally know whether it’s viable. In the meantime I’ve just been incredibly tired and sick. Counting the days and mins until I (hopefully) get into the second tri.

Lovely to see you here 😍
Xx

eloiseislost · 26/04/2021 20:59

@Makingnumber2 I was eagerly waiting for you to join us since I saw your posts about your bloods in our other thread!
Congratulations!!! ❤️❤️❤️
May you take this one home! 🤞🏼🌈
I know how anxious you must be so shortly after an MC -I was exactly the same as you. I had 2 early scans and the NIPT+scan before my NHS dating scan. 🙈 Are you planning any early scans?
From weeks 12 till about 16 I was loving life, no more nausea, no stress, so much energy! But slowly the nerves for the anomaly scan are creeping in, thinking why I haven't felt the flutters again, is my bump big enough? 😱

Makingnumber2 · 27/04/2021 06:25

Thank you for the lovely welcome!
Wow @bizawit you’re almost at end of first tri- that’s great! I will be keeping everything crossed that your scan and harmony test show a happy and healthy little bean in there! I think the sickness is a really good sign. I was so sick with my daughter and my mum just said it was a sign my hormone levels were very high etc. With the last pregnancy I had I had mild nausea that never progressed to proper sickness and although I know every pregnancy is different, it did feel like a sign that things were maybe not quite right. I’m currently pretty symptomless atm which is making me anxious. Although doesn’t take much right now! Got increased thirst and the rogue sore right nipple which I had in my last 2 pregnancies. No idea why my left nipple never gets sore 😂

@eloiseislost I think I will have to have some early scans to keep my sanity although financially timing is bad because my daughter has just gone to nursery for an extra day a week just for this school term so we are not flush with spare cash. The EPU said if my bloods are where they should be Saturday they would offer a scan around ten days later so hopefully that comes through although it would only make me just 6 weeks so I may have to be a bit sneaky and delay the booking dates to try and aim for closer to 7 weeks just so I know we are guaranteed to see things (if things are there) and I am going to ask if they would offer a further scan at 8/9 weeks for reassurance but expect their answer will be no. Which I do understand. So will prob book private one to see me through between EPU scan and nhs dating scan. I am trying not to let myself get too excited about it all. Last pregnancy I really let myself get ahead of myself and bought baby bits including an Xmas sleep suit because the baby was due October. Felt a bit like I jinxed it. I was just lulled into false sense of security by the line progression on tests. So I don’t want to make that mistake again.
It’s so exciting your 20wk is coming up and I think It’s totally normal to be feeling anxious as it approaches. You know from your Harmony test though that baby is v unlikely to have any anomalies so try and focus on that. As hard as I know it must be. Will be lovely to see her wriggling away in there! Have you felt any movement at all? I can’t remember when I felt movements first with my dd. I think around 20 wk mark. Also don’t worry about bump size. My sister just had a beautiful baby girl and her bump at 9 months was like an average sized 6 month bump. Baby was 6lb6. It can vary so much. If you have strong stomach muscles from working out (which my sis does) your bump won’t show as much at first and also her baby lay across her stomach horizontally for much of pregnancy making the bump look smaller. So many variants!
So lovely to think of all of you carrying these precious and much longed for babies. Can’t wait to see scan pics in next few weeks! Xxx

eloiseislost · 27/04/2021 08:12

@Makingnumber2 Look at that, you came here looking for reassurance and you ended up reassuring me! 😄😘❤️

I had my first scan at 6+1 and I could see the dot with the heartbeat, it was amazing! But I was absolutely certain of my dates, due to the BBT, OPKs and the fact that we used SI (for us no SI=no sperm 🤣). If I was not, I would've probably waited until 7 weeks just to be sure.
I know what you mean about finances, we just moved to a new house and someone quoted us 15k to do the garden! 😱 Looks like it's going to be pebbles and IKEA flower pots for us! 😄

Now listen to me and listen to me carefully: you had nothing to do with your previous MC, you did not cause it, you did not jinx the pregnancy, there was nothing you could've done differently to change the outcome. As you know, I speak from experience! It was a very much wanted pregnancy and of course you were over the moon! Alas, it wasn't meant to be and that's heartbreaking. But try to enjoy this one regardless, even through those moments of fear and panic of history repeating itself. Because chances are it won't! 🙂
I also used this website from time to time, when I felt my anxiety heightening:
datayze.com/miscarriage-reassurer.
If you add Additional Maternal Information, you will see that a previous live birth lowers your chances of MC and also 1 MC doesn't affect the odds for a future pregnancy at all.

eloiseislost · 27/04/2021 08:16

@Makingnumber2 I haven't felt flutters yet, I'm 16+4 and getting anxious. 😬
She will be my first so maybe my muscles haven't stretched enough yet?
It would be so lovely to feel her in there! 💞🤞🏼

OP posts:
Makingnumber2 · 27/04/2021 16:30

@eloiseislost thank you for that link! I am going to spend some time perusing it this evening Smile

Also- if it makes you feel less worried, I just scrolled back in my Ovia pregnancy app and according to what I recorded on that I didn't feel proper kicks until 24 weeks and only felt flutters from 20. Obviously everyone is different but that's when I was feeling things so don't get anxious just yet! Easier said than done I know.
The kicks are magical - especially once you can start seeing them too. Just the oddest feeling. I had a video (sadly on my now dead phone) of DD1 kicking me like crazy and my stomach poking out as she was doing it. Also used to feel her hiccups a lot from 20 week mark roughly.
I'm currently waiting patiently to POAS. I know it's pointless but I still dont feel like I have any symptoms. In my first pregnancy I was so sick from week 8-28 and I was desperate for sickness to just go and now here I am wishing for sickness because I feel it would be a sign it's a strong pregnancy Grin life is strange!

Makingnumber2 · 27/04/2021 16:30

PS I LOVE an Ikea flower pot Wink
I just love Ikea tbh- really need to go now it's re-opened.

eloiseislost · 27/04/2021 17:58

@Makingnumber2 Be careful what you wish for with the sickness! 😄
But also they say that when you're pregnant with a boy, you are less likely to feel sick and/or vomit so there's that. 😉
Let us know how your POAS goes! 🤞🏼

I love IKEA too!! We've been there once already since we moved house and we are planning the next trip for this weekend! 🙃

OP posts:
Makingnumber2 · 27/04/2021 19:41

I’m very jealous of your Ikea weekend plans!
And yes you’re right- if everything goes well and I do end up with sickness again I will be whingeing about that no doubt!
Did the obligatory late afternoon POAS and here’s the results. I don’t think it looks any darker today but it doesn’t look lighter so I’ll take it? I’m 15dpo today I think. Work has been keeping me busy in the day which has been great but the evening is when my mind goes into overdrive so I’m very grateful I’ve got that website you suggested!

SI Graduates - From pots to bumps
eloiseislost · 27/04/2021 21:06

@Makingnumber2 I think it will look darker once it's dry! That's a good line for 15dpo and you can clearly see the progression, especially every other day! 👏🏼
I loved this website, I even loved it when I had my MC. 😓 Because then it made me feel less alone, it wasn't just me, it was me and 13.5% of all pregnant women that had gone through something like this. It was oddly comforting!
Try to keep busy, maybe plan an IKEA trip as well? I currently fight my 20-week scan nerves by steam cleaning every inch of the house with my new steam cleaner! 😂

Remembermee · 27/04/2021 21:25

I am 6 weeks exactly today. I booked a private scan as I wanted to be sure it wasn't ectopic. Also I have had this feeling there are multiples.

Well he said he wants me back in 8 weeks so he can see more. It's not ectopic and he can see two sacs. Potentially twins I guess. But not sure how viable they are yet so that's why we go back in 2 weeks to check heart beats etc.
A bit shocked even though I was kind of expecting it.

eloiseislost · 27/04/2021 23:34

@Remembermee Wow, congratulations!!! 💕
I hope they both keep healthily growing! 🤞🏼
How are you in terms of symptoms?

@Bluey18 Good luck for your scan tomorrow!! 😘❤️

Bluey18 · 27/04/2021 23:51

@makingnumber2 oh my goodness just saw your news, congratulations lovely ❤

@eloiseislost Thank you 😊. Been a long wait and I'm still sick as a dog haha. Try not to worry about movement. I didn't feel a thing until 22 weeks with DD, and then she never stopped Grin

@Remembermee hopefully you will get reassurance at your next scan, its so borderline to hear heartbeat at 6 weeks so I would try not to worry. Twins oh my goodness what a surprise ❤❤

Makingnumber2 · 28/04/2021 06:13

@Remembermee wow twins?! Amazing! I hope you get to see more at your next scan. Do multiples run in your family or was it strong early symptoms that made you suspicious? I hope they’re both busy growing away in there and keeping each other company too 🥰

Thank you @Bluey18! Is it your dating scan today or an early scan? Ether way I hope it goes well!

@eloiseislost yes the site was really interesting and I know exactly what you mean about finding the figures comforting even when thinking about your MC. Thank you for sharing it 😊 I think I’m going to have to head to ikea v soon. Might go on my day off next week and bring my sister- she had a baby girl on Friday and I’m sure there must be some baby bits she might want to grab.

Remembermee · 28/04/2021 08:00

@Makingnumber2 and @eloiseislost
multiples don't run in the family so it is a bit of a shock. The reasons I suspected were that I had pain on both sides when I ovulated and that's played on my mind a lot.
Also the positive pregnancy tests were getting dark very quickly (although I've never been pregnant before so can't really compare)
Since conception I have had a lot of pain in the pelvic area. Drs kept saying it was just things expanding but it's been pretty consistent and painful. I guess that might just be normal.

Symptoms wise - like I said, the pains in the pelvis area. Also this constant feeling cold. And sore boobs. Other than that nothing.

I have to say I am terrified!

I've done a bit of reading up last night though and it is possible that they one or both are not viable - so one or both could be empty. So no way of knowing really for another 2 weeks when I go back and see what's progressed.

If it is twins I think I will be moving into Ikea!!

Remembermee · 28/04/2021 14:37

I forgot to add, yesterday I had a massive temperature drop. I've been tracking my bbt since Feb. Today it has only gone up very slightly. Has anyone else had this?

Bluey18 · 28/04/2021 16:05

@Remembermee I'm sorry you're feeling so anxious, completely natural when you are waiting for another scan to set your mind at ease. I'm sorry I don't know much about BBT, mine never worked for me because my sleep was too disturbed. I wonder could something like that have affected yours? I didn't have any symptoms bar sore boobs for ages and I'm on medication now for how sick I've been so I would worry symptoms wise Flowers

Bluey18 · 28/04/2021 16:18

Apologies that should read I wouldn't worry symptoms wise xxx

Bluey18 · 28/04/2021 16:25

So a combination of a tilted uterus and measuring a bit under 12 weeks mean it wasn't a very clear scan and I have to go back in 2 weeks so they can try again for measurements (we do nothing the easy way with this pregnancy apparently!) but just glad to be over the latest hurdle Smile

SI Graduates - From pots to bumps
Makingnumber2 · 28/04/2021 17:22

Oh wow @Bluey18 what a gorgeous little bub! So pleased you got to see them even if it wasn’t as clear as it needed to be.

I know how nerve wracking it is to wait for follow up scans @Remembermee and my heart goes out to you. Try to keep as busy as possible and hopefully the time will fly and those little beans will keep growing. It’s amazing you released two eggs when it doesn’t run in the family. Bodies are incredible in so many ways.

eloiseislost · 28/04/2021 17:37

@Bluey18 What a cute little bub! 💝 Look on the bright side, you'll get to see it again in 2 weeks! 😍

@Remembermee You should stop taking your BBT, it can go erratic during pregnancy due to the hormones. Progesterone is what keeps your temp high but estrogen lowers it. The balance between those two hormones changes rapidly during pregnancy so your BBT doesn't mean anything any more.
I know how difficult it is, but you need to find ways to relax. As others have said, try to keep busy with other things -just not BBT, HPTs, OPKs or anything like that! 😂 You may find the commandments for pregnancy after loss useful to repeat to yourself.
You are pregnant now, today and that's all that matters. 😘

And today’s daily broadcast of my lines...
I’m pleased with today’s because yesterday’s didn’t really seem to have progressed compared to previous two and was done after a 3h hols whereas today’s one was only done after a 2h hold.

Aww wow HUGE congratulations @Bluey18 🥰🥰.
Sorry they couldn’t measure properly. I fear the same thing may happen to me , as my scan has been booked for 11+4 (thought it was a bit early!) and I have a very tilted uterus 🤦🏼‍♀️.
I guess the advantage is getting to see the little bub twice... 😏

@Remembermee oh wow amazing - twins!! How incredible that you intuitively knew. Sorry to hear the scan wasnt as reassuring as hoped, but at 6 weeks it’s often too early to see anything much. Did they do an internal? Don’t worry about the temperature, I think temping is like RHR , you should stop monitoring when you get your bfp as it can start to go down again. That’s what I’ve read from other mumsnetters at least (don’t temp myself).

@Makingnumber2 @eloiseislost I love that website- been checking it every day! It got me through my last pregnancy too.
