So this may be a little early to even start a thread. I got a positive digital test at 3 weeks 5 days. Today I am 4 weeks. From the date of my last period (11th January), my due date would be 18th October 2021 I know it's very early days and anything (literally) can happen but I was hoping to find like minded people!

When do people generally contact their GP?

You should be sent for bloods after your booking appointment but before your 12 week scan as these are used in the screening if you opt in, to get your blood type, check your iron and so on. This time round my blood forms are coming in the post and I'll go to the local for their take a ticket phlebotomy, think I did the same last time but the midwife gave me the forms when she came to do my booking appointment.
I found it weird they didn't ever actually confirm pregnancy, they just take your word for it 😂

Morning @cooper96 :) wow they asked you alot more questions than me! And gave some kind of advice! I'm getting a bit worried about the lack of information I've been given now :( definitely having the early scan at 8 weeks. Have you considered having the harmony test privately too? I've been doing some reading about it as they advertise it on the private scan place website Xx

@CupcakeLady06 I've just scrolled back and read what you've had so far- don't worry you've had what you should have at this stage as far as I can recall. Booking appt is 8-10 weeks and that's when bloods etc are sorted. Sad to say they don't want to do too much before 8 weeks due to the rates of early miscarriage. Your GP should have mentioned about folic acid and vitamin D at this stage and pointed you to the NHS pregnancy guidance on foods to avoid, that's about all they can do at this stage. So try not to worry too much Flowers

I've never heard of the harmony test to be honest it's all new to me! I've just been looking now online though and it looks very useful considering were not going to be offered anything until at least 12 weeks. I'm booked in for the private scan at 8 weeks 5 days and they recommend an internal for the best image. I need to get over my fear of this I just can't think of anything worse right now and I know worse is going to happen down there! Almost tempted to book an earlier private scan I know how addictive it will become! Xx

@8dpwoah thank you for your message :) I've got my booking in appointment over the phone at 9 and half weeks, but it's over the phone so I no bloods or weight etc. So maybe they will do this all at the 12 week scan? Xx

Hello! I got my positive test on Sunday and I’m 4+4. I had a chemical pregnancy in October last year so I’m an absolute wreck! Have an early scan booked for 7+6 and hoping I can make it to then. What’s everyone’s symptoms like? I have dull back ache and loose stools (sorry!). Good luck to everyone!

@CupcakeLady06 I know my blood forms are coming in the post and I've to go and get them a week or so before 12 week scan so the results are back ready to discuss then. I had that last time too, our midwives don't take blood samples themselves. I think BP and urine will be done at the scan too whereas I think they were done at booking last time. I was asked to give them an estimate of height and weight when they booked my booking appointment 😂

Did anyone have dizziness with implantation? I swear I have low levels of dizziness and nausea throught the day. Ive had A BFP but still 2 days before my period is technically due. I didn't have any symptoms until around 10 weeks with my first.

Report
8dpwoah · 16/02/2021 21:43

If you've got a BFP you've already implanted as you don't produce detectable levels of HCG til you have...but I was very similar in my AF week, tired, hungry, dizzy and nauseous. Now I'm coming up 6 weeks I feel much better. It won't last but I'm enjoying it for now!

It could be the increase I. Blood pressure/ HR.

Hi everyone

I hope its okie that I join. I am due 24th Oct I think. I am 4 +2 with my first. I also have no clue what I should be doing.

I have told the GP and they have given me a form to fill in and take back in to them in the next few weeks. I'm assuming then I will be contacted by the midwife team according to the letter.

I haven't really had many symptoms some cramps on and off through the day and night just like period cramps. I have possibly had some nausea but I don't know if I am just thinking about it so it's all in my head. Also 4am for the last two nights I have been up with the worst stomach ache and (sorry TMI) loose stools along with feeling sick but then 10/15mins later I'm completely fine. Didn't know if anyone else has had anything similar to this??

Hi @Kittysw
I’m getting cramps mostly on my back and I’ve have very loose stools the last few days! 🤞 it means all good things!

wirralsquirrel21 · 17/02/2021 14:43

@Kittysw congratulations! My symptoms are pretty much the same as yours. I’ve had no cramps for a few days now but it just felt like a period. Trying to enjoy this calm before the storm 😂

Good luck - it feels like a mystery doing it all for the first time, doesn’t it?!

Kittysw · 17/02/2021 15:13

@mabelelsie Glad I'm not the only one. Yes hopefully all good things. I have tested again this morning and line is 100% darker. I just still don't really believe it.

@wirralsquirrel21Thank you and to you :) My cramps seam to be getting less and less each day. It sure does, and it being a huge secret that's the strangest thing to me. I'm constantly nervous and excited, I'm sure I will feel a lot happier once my first scan is done but that seams like an age away yet.

Just took a clear blue digital and got a 3+ so feeing good that it I’m heading in the right direction.
I’m not phoning doctors until I’ve got to 8 weeks which will be after the last miscarriage date.

Is that too late? I’m thinking it won’t make a difference since some women don’t know until months down the line

@Kona84 That's great that is it progressing I have done a few more to see line progression and I have one of those CB ones left so I may do that next week/week after not sure yet.

I would personally let them know as soon as you can as they did mention to me things are possibly a little bit slow or not quite the same due to Covid. Though I would say just do what is best for you and whatever you feel comfortable with.

Hi ladies just joining in this one :)

Well after 1 month TTC and being late for period without any positive tests... yesterday I got a positive (well 3 actually) and today a BFP!!

A bit freaked out, it is our first, and I honestly don't know how to feel.

According to NHS calculator I am 5 weeks. Due date 16th October.

Will ring GP in next couple of days for some advice about some medication I'm currently on and also about folic acid as I think I need a higher dose because of my weight.

Typically I had been trying to lose weight for getting pregnant - fell pregnant a lot quicker than expected - and still need to lose some weight so a bit nervous and scared about that aspect. BMI is 32 and I'm worried about first appointment.
Though actually I've lost 3lb this week from being off my food!

Just feels very surreal at the moment but feeling cautiously delighted.... and yes, a bit freaked!

Hi everyone 👋🏻 (and hi @pixiedust21 !!! 😁)

4+1 here - due on 27th Oct according to the NHS calculator and this is my first baby.

Lots of cramping for me still, plus gigantic sore boobs, thirsty all the time and so HOT 🥵 Otherwise just happy and a bit dazed!

I’ve registered online with the midwife and they’ll be calling me within the next 2 weeks apparently - so weird there’s so little contacts at the start! I hope I get offered the early scan - does everyone get offered that?

I just hope NCT is back up and running in person for October/November and we won’t be in another lockdown! 😫

Congrats to everyone and good luck for the road ahead!

Does anyone else feel like a bit of a fraud? Grin since I got my BFP I've been weirdly thinking.... what if it was a bad test.... what if I'm wrong.... haha. I think it just feels so strange and surreal I can't quite believe it.

Also is anyone else really off their food?? I just don't fancy anything Hmm made a bowl of porridge for breakfast and had 2 spoons and then couldn't eat any more.

But not even sure what I want!

Good luck to everyone :)

Nice to see you here @MeltingSnowflake !!! Grin eeeek!

Report
8dpwoah · 18/02/2021 11:55

@MeltingSnowflake as far as I understand the NHS only offer early scans if you attend the EPU with a suspected problem, but you can pay for a private one if you want to have a peek before your 12 week. I only had NHS scans with my first but I think we will have one or two private so my DP can come in. I'm toying with having one at about 8 weeks as I need to make some life (not baby) decisions quickly so if there are any problems the earlier I know the 'better'. And then we will have one about 16 weeks to find the sex so I can start sorting the mountain of clothes we have from DD one way or another!
