So this may be a little early to even start a thread. I got a positive digital test at 3 weeks 5 days. Today I am 4 weeks. From the date of my last period (11th January), my due date would be 18th October 2021 I know it's very early days and anything (literally) can happen but I was hoping to find like minded people!

When do people generally contact their GP?

Hello @notagrownup congratulations 🎉 how far along are you now? Good luck for your scan tomorrow. Let us know how you get on! We have all been anxious piles of worry for the duration of this thread 😂 but it's lovely to have each other!

@Ola85 the bloat is horrendous and too have tried the Rennies. The only thing I found to help is the little and often thing too. And pacing meals much slower. OH tends to speed eat, so have to constantly remind myself it isn't a competition 😂 hoping it gets better for you soon! X

@notagrownup Hi👋 Good luck with your scan today. Hopefully it will help you feel less anxious. I was under the wrong impression that 1st pregnancies are the hardest but feel that this one is so much harder than my first. Maybe i just don't remember clearly, or maybe it's having a little one to look after at the same time.

Thank you! @jellybean13419 and congratulations to you! I went back far enough to see your lovely scan photo, I'm so pleased it went well! 12 weeks today :) official midwife guess is 6th Oct but my ovulation guess is for the 1st like you! It's been weird this time around, I've not believed it despite the 1st trimester and all its wonderful symptoms 🙈and didn't even think to look for this group until this morning! I will do, hopefully it will be okay.

Hi @Raggeo my god me too, in knowing what to expect and having done it all before... It should be fine right?? I'll just get on with it. Nope 😂 you don't have the luxury of looking after yourself the same way. I really am missing just popping for a nap, or a bath! Or not having to make food when the smell makes me throw up 🙈 and before nothing ever smacked into your uterus while climbing over the sofa 😂 ah I wish it was today! It's tomorrow, looking forward to not sleeping tonight in anticipation. Oh and for a little extra fun I thought I'd have a filling in the morning before it as well. Get all that anxiety done in one day! 👍

@Ola85 try and get some rennie Delfatine tablets. They help with trapped wind and boosting and are safe in pregnancy. Xx

Urgh sorry guys. Should have read you've already tried them @Ola85

@Ola85 Sorry, I can't remember but have you had a scan yet? It may be worth asking them to check your ovaries (they probably will anyway) I have a follicular cyst on my ovary which they picked up on the scan and one of the main symptoms of an Ovarian cyst is a feeling of fullness, bloating, constipation and general discomfort. They're quite common in pregnancy.

@notagrownup Good luck with your scan! I'm also 12 weeks today. Hope all goes well, looking forward to seeing a pic (if you're happy to obvs!) Smile

Thank you for all advice I will try anything to get rid of that awful feeling.

@HappyVibesxo yes, I had a scan and indeed have a cyst on my ovary, I wonder if it's grown and hence the discomfort. I just want to be in the second trimester and feel better 🙄

notagrownup · 22/03/2021 13:10

@HappyVibesxo awe due date buddies! Thank you. I'm glad it sounds like you've already had yours and it went okay :) apart from the cyst 🙈 hopefully I'll have a nice photo tomorrow!

Just wondering how far along you were when you've had your dating scans?

I'm 11 weeks tomorrow and still waiting on my appointment, though the midwife did say it might come through after that and I know you can have the scan really up to 14 weeks.

I'm so impatient. Also feeling miserable and fed up of just constantly feeling low level tired and sickly. Massive respect to everyone for getting through this first trimester and I hope we all spring into life again for the 2nd. Not long now :)

@pixiedust21 my appointment is at 12+4 but in my area things seem to be running really well as I am hearing of lots of people having scans later than this.

I am beyond impatient. I just want to be 30 weeks then I will be happy. Feeling sick, tired, sore heads and I keep getting infections. And all the while knowing I am going to have to fight my consultant when I start seeing him. So yeah, roll on August 1st 😂😂 we will get there and just need to remember we are so lucky to be feeling rotten! Xx

Congratulations on all the beautiful scans!! I wonder if your tummy is growing week by week? Or it stays more or less the same? Thanks.

@pixiedust21 I had my letter come through for my dating scan the week after the midwife first ever contacted me! So at like 6 weeks. It was arranged for when I'd be exactly 12 weeks. Maybe my hospital just isn't as busy at the mo.. Is there anyone you can contact to find out the date? Doctors or midwife? It does seem late to not know the date..

Report
pixiedust21 · 22/03/2021 18:03

@jellybean13419 if I don't get the letter through in the next few days I can ring the midwife, she did tell me at my booking in appointment that they have someone off sick so things have been a bit slower in terms of arranging appointments.

I just want the scan done and dusted so I can find out if it's all ok, and also be able to tell people!!

Also it might actually feel real then as even though I feel like crap I still don't fully believe there's a baby in there Grin and honestly the way I've been eating I won't be surprised if it's literally a potato...

@nevergiveuptrying I have been the same size since week 4 (when I bloated). I found last time I was around 18 weeks before I started to get any bigger. It was really small up until then. But think I may be getting bigger earlier this time 😂

Report
Cpr12 · 22/03/2021 18:16

@pixiedust21 a potato 😂😂 give them a call tomorrow if you are anxious, they will understand it is getting very late in the day to give you that info!

LOL my husband just came in to talk to me and was asking me kindly but in a concerned way, if it's ok that I'm only really eating plain food and carbs.

I was like yes, it's quite common and not a cause for concern too much yet, don't worry I will eat a vegetable again soon. I said there's a bunch of us on MN all the same Grin

Bless him though.

Hi ladies, I’ve been gone from here for a few days but had my early scan tonight and unfortunately it looks like I’ve had a missed miscarriage. I should be around 9w but sonographer measured baby at 7w 3d and couldn’t find a heartbeat.

Heartbroken doesn’t really cover how I feel just now. It’s so sad and confusing still having pregnancy symptoms.

Congratulations to you all on your positive scans and I wish you all a safe and happy journey. Hopefully I’ll be back on here in the future with some positive news xxx
