So this may be a little early to even start a thread. I got a positive digital test at 3 weeks 5 days. Today I am 4 weeks. From the date of my last period (11th January), my due date would be 18th October 2021 I know it's very early days and anything (literally) can happen but I was hoping to find like minded people!

When do people generally contact their GP?

@djmum83 it is the best to get the scan, congrats!

I am scotland too, 2nd pregnancy but going to be my rainbow 😍

Kona84 · 17/03/2021 20:51

I had a dizzy spell a couple of weeks ago. I’d just gotten out of the shower and thought I was going to pass out.
I had run out of my prenatal vitamins and wa adjust taking folic and B12 which I had in the cupboard, bought some new prenatal with iron and I’ve been fine since.
I have always had problems with my iron levels.

Ola85 · 17/03/2021 21:04

@DJmum83 what a lovely photo of your bean 😍 glad the scan went well!!

@jellybean13419 let us know after your scan! Xx

I had my midwife booking appointment - spent an hour on the phone. She asked me: in the last month did you feel anxious? I said: yes. Well, I'm having a phone call from someone tomorrow to talk about it lol. They do take it seriously.

Also tomorrow I need to go to our local birth centre for a face to face meeting with a midwife for bloods, urine and blood pressure. I really hope it's soundproof and won't hear any women screaming in agony 😆

mooloop · 17/03/2021 21:17

Haha aww @pixiedust21 all I eat is carbs too! The midwife told me to listen to my body and eat what I wanted/could face, whether that was bread, ice cream, whatever, so take that second hand from a medical professional that you should eat whatever you feel like you need to! Grin

mooloop · 17/03/2021 21:17

Congrats on your scan @DJmum83 🥰

Raggeo · 18/03/2021 07:52

@DJmum83 @Cpr12 I'm in Scotland too. Seems to be a few of us. Also craving salt and vinegar crisps. One of the few things I can eat without feeling sick...but not a great habit!

DJmum83 · 18/03/2021 09:31

Thank you everyone.
@Raggeo I know I really wanted to try stay healthy this time as my last 3 I ballooned but salt and vinegar crisps is all I can face.

Going to try get out walking more now that the pills have help the sickness.
Xx

Just a little update. All went well at our scan a very happy and healthy Bean. Baby was super super wriggly, it's the strangest thing seeing all the movements and not feeling them! Still on track for my due date being 1st October 😊 here's a little pic!

@jellybean13419 Oh wowww - he's so big! How exciting - what a brilliant photo - congrats!

MeltingSnowflake · 18/03/2021 12:30

I'm so glad the rest of you are carb monsters too - I feel so guilty for existing off toast and pasta and salt & vinegar crisps (what is it about salt & vinegar crisps?! haha)

Ola85 · 18/03/2021 12:31

@jellybean13419 great news and really lovely photo of your little one 😍😍

I'm currently waiting at the birth centre for my midwife appointment. All the memories are back! Not sure if I'm more scared or excited 😳

Cpr12 · 18/03/2021 12:48

@jellybean13419 yay, congrats! So happy for you 😊

@ola85 excited! Good luck with the appointment

whitershadeofpale · 18/03/2021 13:30

A slightly embarrassing question, but has anyone noticed their nipples changing Blush? Mine have become much more prominent and puffy and the areola almost seem to fold in on itself when they're erect.

Ronnii · 18/03/2021 13:42

@jellybean13419 lovely pic, I'm so excited the 12 week scans are starting!

@whitershadeofpale I haven't noticed anything yet, I have been looking though cos apparently it is normal for nipple changes.

I have very little symptoms right now but everytime you guys mention food I want it, just been and got crisps and mentioned to OH we need chips from fish n chip shop soon

Missreginafalange · 18/03/2021 13:50

@jellybean13419 lovely scan pic!

poodlepip · 18/03/2021 14:00

@jellybean13419 eee! amazing...looks like a proper baby! Is everything starting to feel real? Leading the group being 1st October

And @whitershadeofpale yes definitely, mine hurt are dark and wont go down. Have to wear sports bra to bed

jellybean13419 · 18/03/2021 16:52

Thank you everyone. It really does feel more real now 💕 we got our date for the 20 week scan straight after too! Hope everyone is doing ok! Who is next for the 12 week scan??

pixiedust21 · 18/03/2021 16:59

@jellybean13419 amazing to see the little baby!! Must be so surreal!!

I'm 10 weeks and still waiting on my scan appointment. A bit nervous - obviously in case anything is wrong, but hope we can see little bean okay as I've heard a few mixed tales about scans with a high BMI so I'm basically not expecting to see loads but we will see. As long as it's okay :)

Cpr12 · 18/03/2021 17:31

@whitershadeofpale yes, the nipples are erect every minute of the day haha! Also defo a bit bigger. For me both pregnancies this has been my first symptom.

@jellybean13419 my scan is the 7th April. The wait is killing me already. I just want it to be october already 🙈

mooloop · 18/03/2021 17:48

Aww @jellybean13419 how amazing! Congratulations 🥰 12th April seems like sooooo far away for me!

On the boob/nipple discussion - I'm definitely with you girls! My boobs have definitely grown and feel sore, my nipples definitely stick out more and even just brushing against a top/towel hurts 🙈 I'm living in soft sports bras.

I'm am sooooo exhausted again today. This week has been a right struggle 😴

jellybean13419 · 18/03/2021 18:07

The exhaustion is horrible isn't it? I find everything so much harder! It's ridiculous how walking a normal walk gets me so out of breath! And yes to the boob and nipple situation. Anyone else having to cover them in the shower because of the water pressure pounding on them 😂??

Jl2020 · 18/03/2021 18:38

Congratulations @jellybean13419 that is such a cute scan picture!

Has anyone else really gone off water in pregnancy? I just hate the taste of it all of a sudden which is strange as it doesn't really taste of anything 🤷🏼‍♀️😂 I feel like I'm craving something nice to drink I just don't know what it is I want! I'm really struggling with hunger too I just can't stop eating! X

pixiedust21 · 18/03/2021 18:50

@Jl2020 yes struggling to drink water too but equally don't know what I'd rather have, and I'm either hungry (again for something specific that I usually don't have in) or feeling sickly and don't like the sound of any food.

Ah fun and games!!

Jl2020 · 18/03/2021 18:58

@pixiedust21 I'm the same just don't know what I want to drink but I know it's not water right now. With food I can eat literally anything but as soon as I start to feel hungry if I don't eat straight away I feel a bit sick. Luckily I don't have any specific cravings yet, just want to eat anything and everything! dreading doing the food shop tomorrow because I just know I'm going to be hungry whilst doing it and will end up buying the whole shop 😂 also been getting a lot of pain in my lower stomach today but it's not cramps it's more like sharp pains now and then, I assume that's probably just my uterus doing something!

Ola85 · 18/03/2021 18:59

I'm the same with water it just tastes bleh 🤮 but I don't really enjoy anything else, too. In my previous pregnancies I remember drinking cloudy lemonade but not so sure now ...
